Great staff! Attentive and eager to help. The hotel itself was pristine! Beautuful and very well suited for the ambient surroundings. They offer several tours, both full and half day, the ones we took were wonderfull. Would definately recommend!!

Nice but VERY Overpriced!

Overall nice stay, however very overpriced for the experience. Restaurant staff is very inexperienced and English is difficult for most to understand for correct meal orders. If you’re there for the “bar-b-que” night, be warned it’s somewhat chaos and orders may not come out correct or at all. Never received my dinner order and had to walk up to the grill chef to wait for it. They’re simply overwhelmed.

The toilets are not accepting toilet paper. Yes, you heard me right they ask you not to flush any toilet paper down the toilet. They ask you to “wipe” and throw the feces covered paper in the trash can. Very odd and uncomfortable and you need to know this before staying here… imagine what the bathroom smells like with feces covered toilet paper sitting in the trash can all day?

Overall a great region to visit, but very overpriced for what you get here. Be warned.

Older property with cheap finishes and absolutely no recent updates. Lack of investment is glaringly obvious in details - for example, seat cushions on metal chairs in the main dining room (unusable without cushions due to narrow slats) are so lumpy that dinnertime becomes just plain uncomfortable.
Shower pressure is so poor that it takes forever just to wash off shampoo.
Staff is friendly but poorly trained.
Breakfast buffet does not seem to be refilled at all.
Evening dining and surrounding nature are definite highlights that help you put up with the rest.
Overall we would definitely stay elsewhere if back in the area.

Clean rooms, nice breakfast service, lunch and dinner service you can enjoy at the dining room or at bar.

This is a fabulous but expensive all-inclusive resort facing a dry river bed near San Pedro de Atacama but isolated from it. The rooms are luxuriously appointed and the facilities are excellent - there are 6 pools! There is a spa and spacious public areas as well as a balcony for each room. All meals are included and the food is excellent. You get two half-day or one full-day excursion per day included in the cost and these range from easy (such as being carried by car with small walks) through to biking and hiking adventures. The staff try their best to accommodate all preferences for the excursions and even take a single guest if necessary. Excellent quality meals and even wine were included as were transfers to Calama. On the full day excursions an extravagant meal buffet is laid out so you’re always well fed. The staff are friendly and speak good English, though internal communications between teams at the hotel could be a little better this didn’t detract from a fabulous stay.

An oasis in the desert

Our stay at Alto Atacama was pure luxury.
We loved everything about the hotel - the staff the facilities the outdoor excursions. It was expensive but worth every cent, with everything being included in the price. It was so relaxing, yet so much to do as well. I would strongly recommend it to anyone!

Such an amazing hotel! It's not only luxurious, but the service is great and the expeditions have amazing guides who take you in small groups to places not normally accessible to others. Rosario is such a kind and caring host who genuinely cares for all her guests and makes sure they're taken care of.

This was hands down the highlight of my entire Chile trip and I would highly recommend to anyone.

Organized comfort in a spectacular setting

The hotel is one of only a few high-end hotels serving tourists to the Atacama Desert. The desert is an enormous attraction, uniquely beautiful, large and various. The hotel offers many excursions to different spots in and near the desert, at different times of the day (sunrise, sunset) and requiring different levels of physical exertion. The staff organizing these are well-informed and very helpful. The rooms are large, well-appointed, and comfortable. The food is as varied as it can be, given the need to bring all food into the hotel from areas distant to it. And the wine was excellent. The cost of staying is very high -- ameliorated a bit by the all-you-an eat, all-you-can drink, all-you-can see policies. But it seemed worth it to my wife and me. Internet access is spotty in the evening, but that shouldn't be a big deal.

I Highly recommend this hotel. The whole team was always very thoughtful! Although it is not located in the center of the pueblo, it is less than 10 minutes away by car, and the hotel has a transfer every half hour. The hotel sight is special, surrounded by red high desert cliffs. I really had a great staying! The only negative point was that the wifi reception was not good inside my room but the overall was excellent.

Desert luxury

Spent one night enjoying the luxury here after a few days of excursions and exploring in the region. Service was personalised and friendly. Pool and spa area are incredible in the most arid place on earth (they sit on a subterranean water source). 32c degree pool particularly nice in winter. Good quality bikes for exploring the valley. Excellent restaurant.

Loved the excursions (biking, hiking)! Although if you are not an experienced mountain biker, the downhill is a bit treacherous!. Hikes were great! Managers and excursion staff was terrific). Food was very good, but honestly having some flexibility (vs full board) would be nice. Couldn't eat this much food! The overall experience was great and you will be very well cared for.

Incrivel !! Da atencao na chegada , passando pelo restaurante ( Lucas nos atendeu , maravilhoso ) , ate o checkout ( saimos antes do horário do cafe da manhã e la estava nosso cafe embalado para levarmos .
O silencio no pátio interno, so com o barulho do rio correndo timido levarei sempre na memória .

Wunderschöne Unterkunft mit herausragendem Service. Wir waren leider nur 2 Nächte dort und wären gerne länger geblieben. Auf unserer 4-wöchigen Chile-Reise war dies die beste Unterkunft. Sehr besonders, der Ort hat eine einzigartige Energie. Tolles Essen und ein Frühstück, dass keine Wünsche offen lässt. 6 (!) tolle Pools, die sehr viel Privatsphäre bieten. Bequeme Betten und schöne Badezimmer. Perfekte Sauberkeit. Nur einen Katzensprung von San Pedro entfernt. Absoulte Empfehlung!!!

O hotel é bonito, quartos são bons e a distancia para o centro é ótima.

Esse hotel poderia ser incrível, mas o serviço é pessimo em todos os níveis.

Garçons pessimamente treinados, de cara amarrada, ma vontade em todos os espaços. Desde o cafe da manha, almoços, bares, piscina. Tudo. Serviço pessimo.

Infelizmente num lugar como esse, onde o hotel importa mto, o fato do serviço ser tao fraco, realmente prejudica muito a experiencia. Não voltaria por esse motivo.

Bello lugar que deja un sabor de boca extraño...

El hotel se encuentra en una ubicación privilegiada, muy agradable y en excelente condición, sin embargo lo que ofrece en realidad no es lo que publica, por ejemplo, es cierto que tiene muchísimas piscinas, sin embargo tiene habilitada solo 1 temperada (da lo mismo la justificación para ello, deberían indicarlo antes de hacer la reserva). Respecto de las comidas, buen sabor pero nada sorprende, por lo que se hace extraordinariamente caro comer por preparaciones simples y con ingredientes baratos. En el pueblo consigue platos muchísimo mas sofisticados y exóticos por la mitad del valor. En las habitaciones ofrecen algunas bebidas calientes pero si las usa, no las reponen y, por cierto, el café disponible en la habitación es café instantáneo (2 sachets). Les recomendaría mejorar la cocktelería pues es prácticamente ausente. La carta es muy mejorable. En resumen, el lugar es bellísimo, bien mantenido, el personal es amable sin embargo resulta un poco pretencioso. Si lo recomiendo, pero si tiene experiencia con otros hoteles 5 estrellas, usted sacará sus propias conclusiones.

Vacaciones perfectas

El hotel se mimetiza con el entorno que lo rodea, es muy lindo y tiene mucha vegetacion tipica de la zona. Tomamos la opcion todo incluido que vale 100%, pues te recogen y llevan al aeropuerto de Calama (1 hora 15 min de viaje por buena carretera). Ademas incluye paseos (puedes tomar 1 en AM y otro en PM), te llevan en van con guias locales especializados que hablan perfecto ingles, imperdibles paseo a vallecito con coctel para esperar el sunset y a los geysers con desayuno al aire libre a 4.200 mts altura, aunque todos los paseos que te recomiendan valen pues los paisajes son diversos y preciosos. En comidas hay para almuerzo y cena 1 propuesta del chef pero si no te gusta puedes pedir a la carta, que es variada, tienen buenos vinos, espumantes y cocteleria. Tiene varias piscinas no tan grandes, algunas frias y otras temperadas con un bar que tambien sirve comidas ligeras (sandwich vegetariano una delicia). Todo el personal habla ingles y son muy amables. El spa es precioso e intimo y ofrece diversos masajes muy relajantes (estos con cargo aparte). Las habitaciones muy comodas, no tienen TV lo que es muy bueno para desconectarte, pero si hay buen wifi en todo el hotel. En el baño hay productos de verbena que son una delicia para la piel y el pelo (lamentablemente no los venden). Es primera vez que en Chile me hospedaba en un todo incluido y supero nuestras expectativas, lo recomiendo 100% si viajas a San Pedro.

Las instalaciones muy cómodas, piscinas bien independientes y seccionadas y lo mejor de lo mejor el SPA, excelentes terapeutas e infraestructura para tener un relajo profundo. 100% recomendado para parejas y en familia.

Una maravillosa experiencia en medio de un monumento nacional “Pukará de Quitor”, un lugar excepcional, donde cuidan cada detalle para que los pasajeros se sientan a gusto y disfruten cada momento en un lugar mágico, rodeado de hermosos atardeceres.
El hotel cuenta con las mejores instalaciones para hacer de la estadía una experiencia inolvidable, desde sus jardines, pasando por sus piscinas temperadas y por supuesto su spa.
La comida, una carta rica en alimentos frescos, el bar ofrece cócteles con frutas frescas y especies de la zona con sabores inigualables.
Un lugar ideal para visitar en pareja y conectar con el encanto de su entorno, con un sin fin de panoramas también para poder disfrutar en familia.
