Great location, fantastic and very picturesque interiors of the hotel itself. The room was extremely tiny - it’s good for just one person and a bag pack, but if you’re a couple with maybe two or more luggage’s, there’s no space and we were hitting into everything. The hotel pays attention to detail and cares - the breakfast was great, and the food always fresh. They also have safe - limited, car parking.

So much potential but falls very short

I really wanted to like this hotel, the setting and rooms were lovely, but the service was disappointing. As an international traveler, I rely on wifi, but the room I was assigned had no signal. Reception claimed not all rooms had wifi, suggesting I use the reception area instead. A hostel I had used prior in the same town offered full wifi. After some back and forth, I was given an upgraded room with wifi. However, the air conditioning started leaking water, and reception only fixed it by placing a bin under it, leaving dirty foot prints in the room during the process.

Breakfast service was lacking—only the lady at registration spoke to me, there was an omelette station, but serving staff didn't acknowledge me nor anyone, leading me to get up from my table to ask for eggs.

When I inquired about a direct airport transfer that morning, the receptionist told me it was too late to book for the same day, requiring 24 hours notice and suggested an expensive taxi or long public bus options. After investigating online, I found same-day bookings were possible and returned to inform her. (I had used a same day transfer from the airport to the town). She reluctantly booked me onto the 1:00 PM departure, after repeating it wasn’t available for a second time. When the transfer arrived there were 2 people, including myself, with 5 free seats. This unhelpful attitude was consistent with the wifi and breakfast service issues.

This hotel is located in the main San Pedro Street, but the village is small and location does not add much. The staff were kind for the most, but the room only provides a bed, no reliable internet connection (you have to leave the room and go to the bar to get connected) and three out of the four days I stayed I had no hot water to take a shower. Now, considering that the temperature was around 0 degrees at night, take a shower in the early morning with freezing water is not very pleasant. I would not go back to this hotel.

Does live up to the potential

I really wanted to rate this hotel higher, but just can't which is unfortunate because there are a number of great things about this place. It is great that they offer to set up tours for you as well as an airport shuttle but was hard to get the official confirmation that things were booked (but this did not affect the rating I have given). My main issues with the property were based on the lack of helpfulness of probably 75% of the front desk staff. A couple of them were great, but the others are just dismissive and not wanting to help with questions, so theu ruin the impression of the other helpful staff. My room was also as issue becuase there was a water leak in my bathroom which was reported but no one came to fix throughout by 4 nights there, which the problem only got worse. So, my floor had puddles of water that i had to use the towel to soak up to avoid getting my feet wet. Also the bathroom did not have hot water but once during the stay. What the cause was that is unknown, but it was unfortunate when your visiting in winter when it is very cold and all you do it shiver during a shower trying to get the dust of the day off your body.

The central tree in the patio is an awesome place to relax after a walk or visit around one of the many sites in the San Pedro surroundings. The small pool is refreshing, and having the restaurant/bar makes it very pleasurable.
And Don Raul is very nicely located. You can walk anywhere.

This hotel is in a good part of San Pedro de Atacama, right off the main strip of “downtown.” There are lots of restaurants, travel agencies, and shops nearby. The hotel is clean, and the facilities are nice. The breakfast is very good. My only complaint is the water in the shower did not get hot, and I’m not sure why because hot water came out of the sink faucet. The breakfast is good, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Don Raul is a good value. It’s clean and friendly and conveniently located. It does not have any extra amenities though and the bathrooms are tiny. One more we woke up and did not have any power or water. This was fixed quickly so not complaining just something to be aware of when you are trying to decide whether to shower at night or in the morning before a tour. Overall would recommend.

The hotel was the last one on the main street and therefore easy access of all restaurants. The breakfast doesn't start until 7:00 AM and almost all of the tours in Atacama start around 5:00AM and we didn't have breakfast even a single day. In fact all the tours in every part of Chile starts around 5:00AM and the breakfast doesn't start until 7:00 or later. We were only able to have breakfast for one day of our 13 day tour in Chile. Its better to book hotels without breakfast to avoid paying extra cost.

We paid for a Deluxe room (US$160 aprox.) and they gave us a small room next to the kitchen, that was extremely noisy, dark, smelly and hot. When we asked about our room to the hotel employee (Ruben), he told us that there was a mistake with our reservation and there was nothing they can do for that night given that the hotel was overbooked. Next day they moved us to a room more quiet, although not the deluxe room that we had booked and pay. When we checked out and tried to arrange the price according to the rooms that we stayed in, the empoyee of the reception (Eduardo) only repeated that the hotel did not have any responsability on the \"mistake\", and he was not willing to cooperate at all in order to solve the money ishue. We had to beg him to write an email to the person in charge in order to create a \"case\" and TRY to get our money back. To this date we have not receive any news or formal apology, much less the reimbursement of any amount.

Great location, very cute. Beds comfortable. We emailed ahead to get a double/queen bed m, instead of two twins. We didn’t not get it our first night- though it was promised a month prior via email. Offered the move the second night, but took much time to change. Included breakfast was weak. And we ran out of hot water both nights - the first night, I got a hot shower but my husband did not. Second night, I ran out of hot water with shampoo in my hair. My husband has none.

A nice hotel just outside the more busy central part of the town and therefore a quiet place to stay.
It is connected to a nice restaurant which is open until late, allowing to arrive late and still have a dinner.

We booked this place late when the only other option was $12k per night. We paid US$150 per night. The room had a double bed, a table and 2 chairs. The bathroom had a shower, 2 towels, one bath mat, 2 shampoos and 2 conditioners and one soap. That is the sum total of the rooms amenities. No heater, no hairdryer, wifi for a minute at a time. The walls are mud rendered polystyrene blocks and not remotely sound proof. You will hear every conversation your neighbours have. We did not get wifi in our room but could usually get access by walking around the hotel trying to log into separate sections of the wifi. In short, it’s truly ordinary and grossly overpriced. Breakfast was included and this was passable. It’s sweet cereal, akes and ham, rock hard bread, cheese and tomatoes. We also had dinner there and that was considerably better. Drinks and the happy hour are worth doing. Our friends had a similar experience but they had wifi and no hot water for three days. My advice. Book early. Go elsewhere.

Great base of operations for the Atacama.

The hotels in San Pedro are pretty pricey. This seemed a decent bargain. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I had a bit of a problem with the room the first night and they changed it right away the next morning to a very nice room. Breakfast is terrific. Facilities are under expansion which impacted the atmosphere a bit, but I would recommend this place. Location is ideal. Hot water was an issue a few times but that may have been because of a power outage.

good place, but poor client services

The bathroom is so small and we had problem with the hot water, some times (3 of 5) the water was cold or freeze and we needed to go to ask many times to fix it.
The reception desk didn't have maps and moreover the didn't know how to get to many touristic places like Lakes or Dead Valley.
The bed creaked each time that we change of position
The best thing, was the continental breakfast.

Very comfortable hotel with clean and warm rooms. Staff very helpful. Rooms are on single storey blocks leading away from reception area which means Wi-Fi signal was hit and miss in the room. Bathroom was on the small side but hot shower was excellent. Not a big deal as lots of seating around reception area.

Although booked in advance, they didn't have a room available and I was put in a hostal own by the same owner for the first night. The hostal was fine, but the single room at hotel was occupied by a double-bed and there was little space. Bathroom was quite small as well. The location is great! The reception has changed and is not what is shown in the pictures.

Not a good choice for a winter stay

This is a great looking hotel but it was COLD--no heat in the room--and the hot water was nearly nonexistent--a mere trickle. The cold came through the unclosable bathroom window and the poorly clod able door. The price/comfort ratio is way out of proportion; for what I paid I expected at least a hot shower.

Indifferent service. Wifi connected only in the lobby area, and was very slow at best. Our room was so small that it didn't even have a closet to store our clothes, etc. Very dirty and dusty outside the rooms as there are no flagstone walkways or landscaping to control the dirt. The Hotel Kimal across the street is a MUCH better value at only a slightly higher price.

Quarto conforme descrito. Equipe cordial , destaque para Dayane Lopez que prontamente tentou nos ajudar com um problema no frigobar e no ar condicionado e foi resolvido. Sempre solícita. A camareira de nosso apto era impecável na limpeza.

Estávamos em comemoração e o hotel ofereceu uma tábua de frios com espumante muito gostosa.

Oferecem café e chá todos os dias a partir das 2h da manhã na recepção . Se necessário café da manhã mais cedo devido aos passeios é só agendar no dia anterior. Oferecem uma área de lazer muito gostosa. O café da manhã servido no restaurante Água na Boca é sensacional e com uma equipe muito educada e gentil.

Localização muito boa, na rua principal e a poucos metros da movimentação.

Um ponto ruim foi que sentimos falta de boa vontade por um funcionário pela manhã quando chegamos às 8h. Chegamos muito cedo e tínhamos pedido um early check in , as 10h falou que em meia hora conseguiria um apto para nós . Só foi liberado 13h30 mesmo já tendo apto disponível , só foi resolvido por outro colega da recepção.

A receptividade, atendimento, estadia e conforto foram o ponto forte na nossa estadia. Desde os quartos às áreas comuns são muito agradáveis. As únicas coisas que observamos é que o hotel não disponibiliza frigobar nos quartos e o chuveiro demora um pouco em conseguir estabilizar a temperatura do banho. Mas nada que comprometa a experiência e bem estar. Adoramos e sentimos que acertamos muito na escolha, muito também pela localização e facilidade de acesso ao local. Ponto positivo também é o café da manhã em horário alternativo para atender aos passeios que fizemos em horários muito cedo.

Achei o hotel com café sem muitas opções, fui a 2 passeios e não tomei café no hotel e no dia que cheguei pedir para eles trocarem para o dia que não tomaríamos café, porém não aceitaram e me fizeram pagar 30 mil pesos.
Além do meu checkin que seria para sair ao meio dia e solicitei até as 18 pois meu voo sairá 21 hrs e eles tb me cobraram mais 50 mil pesos por isso.

Não tenho palavras para expressar o quanto fui acolhida por está equipe. Foi simplesmente maravilhoso. A começar que chegamos pela manhã bem cedo, muito antes do check in, e a recepção logo deu um jeito de nós acomodar em um quarto. O dono da pousada, muito simpático, ainda nos autorizou tomar um belo café da manhã. Todos os funcionários são simpáticos e solícitos. A pousada oferece um ótimo espaço de convivência, uma piscina linda mas não tive coragem de entrar pois a água estava muito fria! A cama e os travesseiros cheirosos, grandes e macios. Ar condicionado funcionando, chuveiro quentinho e um restaurante maravilhoso acoplado à pousada. A localização é excelente, no finalzinho da rua caracoles, bem perto de tudo e ao mesmo tempo fora da agitação do comércio local. Recomendo muitoooo. Valeu cada centavo! Gratidão à todos do Hotel.

A minha estadia no hotel Don Raul atendeu a todas as minhas expectativas. Comecei a seguir a página deles no Instagram depois que pesquisei sobre. De fato, o ambiente é super agradável. Bem temático. Imersivo. Gostei da limpeza e do serviço de quarto. Um ponto a favor é que meu quarto tinha ar condicionado, o que é um grande diferencial nos hotéis no Atacama (quase nenhum tem). A área de café da manhã é agradável, com bastante opção de bebidas e comidas...tudo fresquinho e gostoso. Além da excelente localização. Gostei do atendimento de todos da recepção e do restaurante. Voltaria a me hospedar e recomendo. O único ponto negativo é que a piscina, apesar de linda, não é aquecida. Então a água é bem gelada e para os fortes. Fica como sugestão ao hotel colocar um aquecedor.

O hotel é muito bom, com destaque pra equipe da recepção. Contudo, precisam rever a política de check in/check out. iniciar o check in às 15hs é terrível. Foi preciso pagar uma quantia alta pra antecipar em 2hs o horário. Também sugiro que revejam o horário do café da manhã, pois quem tem passeios logo cedo não consegue usufruir do serviço pago, ou é até destratado pela equipe do café por chegar 06:55h e ainda não estar liberado.

Ingesamt ein schönes Hotel mit gepflegter Anlage. Das Frühstück war eines der besten, welches wir in Chile hatten. Hotelpersonal am Empfang spricht gutes Englisch was wir in Chile nicht immer erlebt hatten. Einziger negativer Punkt war, dass das Servicepersonal nach der Zimmerreinigung die Türe nicht wieder abgeschlossen hatte - so war das Zimmer tagsüber potentiell von jeder Person zugänglich.

Ótima experiência, café da manhã ótimo! Cama excelente, chuveiro quente com bastante pressão. Nosso quarto tinha ar, pois fomos no verão, o que achei imprescindível! Área externa ótima pra tomar um vinho à noite.Staff gentil. Localização perfeita, na rua principal de San Pedro. Recomendo muito !

Visão geral

Tivemos experiência com dois tipos de quarto de casal. Acho que no primeiro (o de nível melhor) só faltou uma lâmpada clara (como a decoração é rústica, as lâmpadas são todas mais escuras, fica lindo, porém, se tivesse pelo menos uma da clara, ficaria melhor).
No segundo tipo de quarto (um nível abaixo do anterior), a única coisa que não gostamos foi ser ventilador e não se condicionado (fomos ciente, só uma questão de opinião mesmo).
Como passamos uma semana, pegamos muitos dias do café da manhã, achamos que poderia mesclar mais as opções, pois foram as mesmas opções praticamente todos os dias.
No geral, nós gostamos muito do hotel!
Muito bem localizado, dá para fazer tudo a pé, bem na rua Caracoles. O café da manhã (mesmo com a ressalva dada anteriormente), é tudo de qualidade, gostoso e reposto constantemente. A água do chuveiro forte é muito boa. O pessoal da recepção muito atencioso e prestativo. E a decoração do hotel, amamos!

Meu marido e eu passamos o fim de semana do Natal nesta pousada pitoresca e charmosa.
Na mesma rua dos restaurantes e lojas, porém afastada o suficiente para não ouvir o burburinho dos turistas. Muitos brasileiros se hospedam nela.
No quarto tem ar condicionado, cama queen, no wc tem ducha forte, gostosa! Atendimento da recepção excelente e limpeza também! Esses são os pontos positivos.
Para nós o que poderia melhorar seria: iluminação do quarto, pois ele é muito escuro. Colocar um frigobar e uma TV mesmo pequena na parede e um espelho de corpo. E dar um jeito de tampar os números do ar condicionado que a Luz é tão forte que incomoda na hora de dormir. Detalhe: a suíte é bem pequena e mal distribuída! Mas, isso não tem como mudar . Só empurrar a cama mais para o lado e talvez mudar a mesinha de lugar, para ter mais espaço para passagem até o banheiro! Ficamos na suíte 39. Perto no estacionamento!
Quanto ao café da manhã , ele é servido no restaurante que está dentro do hotel e é aberto ao público no almoço e jantar. Café da manhã muito fraco em relação à hospedagem! Não tem café, só Nescafé solúvel. Café da máquina vc paga a parte. E as outras coisas nada demais. No dia de Natal, fomos tomar café as 9h e já não tinha mais algumas coisas ; e o café de máquina tbm não, pq o staff não tinha ligado ainda a máquina para esquentar!

The property is peaceful, except when people talk loud you can hear the noise from the other room at night or early in the morning.
Convenient to stay as it is closed to all the shopping areas and the main town.
Regarding the room, comfy and clean. Except the day previous to leave the hotel, the washroom was not that very clean.
About the amenities. There was missing the toothpaste, so bring your own.
Swimming pool is not too big and there is only two launch chairs. Even if I wanted to use it, I could not because all the time was bussy.
Overall the staff team are very polite and friendly the location is pretty good.

Fue una estadía muy cómoda. Atención amable. Instalaciones rústicas pero muy acogedoras. Pieza agradable, sin TV lo que favorece el descanso, la tranquilidad y la armonía con el entorno.
La ubicación es excelente, si bien está en la calle principal (Caracoles), está justo una cuadra antes del comercio y agencias de turismo.

O hotel é muito bem localizado, mas um tinha tomei banho gelado e tinha um aquecedor que aquecia muito pouco o quarto.
Horário do café normalmente é após os horários de saidas dos passeios, ou seja, todos os passeios saem as 7 hr e o café inicia as 7.

Prós e contras

O Hotel é muito bonito e acolhedor, porèm numa reserva de 6 dias a internet só funcionou 2, mesmo assim sofrida. O horário do café não bate com os passeios e não oferecem o kit que até os hostels dão, e vi um ratinho passeando no jardim, tudo bem que é um deserto, mas precisa de controle. A cama era bem dura e os travesseiros também. Vale a incrível localização

estuvimos hospedadas 3 noches en Don Raúl y no hay mas que palabras de agradecimoentos pq todo estuvo muy bueno. Detalles corregibles como no contar siempre con toallas grandes, pero fueron repuestas de inmediato, y todo lo que necesitamos fue de inmediato otorgado. La amabilidad de recepción extraordinaria y el café a dispiosicion a las 4 am, antes del Tatio fue un gran detalle. volveré!!

Hotel bem localizado! Quarto e banheiro simples. Não tem TV nos quartos e Chuveiro às vezes não esquenta. Sem secador.
Roupa de cama e toalhas velhas.
Café da manhã ótimo. Área comum muito agradável. Para o padrão de San Pedro do Atacama o hotel atende as necessidades.

Foi boa, o hotel é bom dentro do que se espera, porem caro pro que oferece (tudo bem que a demanda do local deixa caro os valores).
Quartos sem aquecedor ou arcondiconado.
Café da manhã bom.
Quarto pequeno mas bom.
Banheiro ok.
O hotel tem um espaço muito lindo fora, porem é tão bom que alguns hóspedes se esquecem preferem estar aí fazendo muito barulho e incomodando o resto dos quartos que gostariam de descansar. Enfim.
É bem localizado e isso é um ponto muito forte já que tudo na cidade se concentra nessa rua!

O hotel é bem localizado mas não faz jus ao preço que cobra. Muito mal iluminado, apenas 02 arandelas no quarto + 01 no banheiro. Água quente sempre que precisei, apenas um travesseiro por pessoa. Tive que pedir mais um e entregaram prontamente. Banheiro apertado. Ar condicionado em bom funcionamento. Café da manhã bem servido mas no primeiro dia o café só ficou pronto quase 07 horas da manhã... Estava com pressa para pegar o tour mas consegui tomar o café depois de muita insistência. A piscina não condiz com o ângulo da foto, é como uma banheira de água parada.

El hotel se encuentra muy bien ubicado dentro de San Pedro, tiene unas instalaciones bonitas, acorde con el Lugar y el entorno. En general su personal es muy atento y servicial. Yo esperaba un poco mas de las habitaciones, y ya dentro de ellas creeria que podrian estar en mejor estado.
Mi estancia fue buena y recomiendo el hotel.

O hotel é super bem localizado, na rua Caracoles, tem vários mercadinhos, restaurantes próximos e lojinhas de souvenir. O atendente do hotel é brasileiro e ajuda em tudo o que precisar, o hotel é bem rústico mas super charmoso. Pontos negativos: o chuveiro ou esquenta demais ou esfria demais pra manter o meio termo foi difícil, mas nada que atrapalhe ... e o barulho dos quartos vizinhos da para ouvir tudo o que os outros hospedem conversam... não sei se meus vizinhos que falavam alto demais e não tive sorte ou se é assim mesmo. Enfim eu voltaria novamente mesmo com estes dois pontos negativos. Internet cai às vezes tbm mas tem varias redes pra trocar quando uma não pega. Pontos positivos: localização, staffs atenciosos, café da manhã simples porém com bastante opção ...
