There are two sections of the property. One section is the regular room on the same side of the reception. The other section has all the cabins cross the street from the reception. The property is beautiful and unique. Very good location. Close to the center of the town. Staffs are very friendly and attentive. Room (the cabin) is pretty good size for two people. You can refill the water from the restaurant. The only thing that bothers me (I am a super light sleeper) is the bird chirping in the early morning. Hotel prepares plugs for each room. I like this property overall, would come back.

My stay at Hotel Kimal was amazing. The room was spotless and very comfortable, and the common areas were always clean and well kept. The staff were exceptionally friendly and courteous, always ready to help with anything I needed. The location is perfect for walking around town, and the atmosphere in the hotel is peaceful and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Hotel Kimal is a fabulous place as a relaxing and convenient base for your San Pedro de Atacama adventures! The staff are friendly and helpful and the courtyard and rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Someone put a lot of thought and care into building and maintaining this hotel. The breakfast that comes with your stay is a marvelous and varied buffet of fresh breads and fruit, yogurt and toppings, and made to order eggs. The restaurant is excellent!

A perfect stay.

A perfect stay from a complimentary early check in to a comfortable room and especially comfortable bed. Secure private parking. Excellent housekeeping and all staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel feels like an oasis in the town, with seating areas outside each room as well as others dotted around the hotel. Lovely relaxing pool area and terrace. Good choice at breakfast.

We rented a car and drove from Calama airport to SPDA. The hotel has a private, gated parking area, which is very convenient. We really enjoyed having the free buffet breakfast and the restaurant on site. It's a bit pricey but the food is excellent. If you are leaving early for sightseeing, the hotel will prepare you a bag breakfast to take with you! The hot tub was excellent after a long day of sightseeing/hiking. We also got massages at the spa - the spa, however, is around the corner and not on the actual hotel property. It's just a one-minute walk away. The rooms are bungalows with outdoor entrances so you will not hear the other guests at all. We had a skylight in our room. The property itself has many trees and birds and is quite lovely. The staff was SO helpful and kind, especially in the restaurant. Overall, we had a great stay here and would definitely recommend it.

Stayed here for 2 nights and the was the worst hotel we ever stayed due to the bad attitude of the owner.

1. Attitude of the owner on
-the bathroom toilet issues:
Issue: We arrived at the hotel in the evening after a long day from Punta Arenas and they assign us room 8. the toilet bowl does not work. they mentioned they will send somebody. 30 minutes later nothing. the guy arrives after repeated follow ups and then says he cannot fix it since there is a power outage and no water. I got to the reception to change the room,

Response:
-the staff says he can give another room but i have to move back to this room the next day and then transfers the phone to the owner. She is so rude and says she cannot do anything since the hotel is sold out..as if she was doing us a favor for letting us stay there and we have to understand the problem.

- On top of that their generator was not working. She told me that we can go and find another hotel since it is not her problem since there is a power outage and they cannot fix the toilet till it comes. Nor can she give us another room for 2 nights. We stayed back and the alternative room offered was even more gloomier.

2 Rooms: the ventilation is very poor with one window and no AC. It made me sick all the time we were in the room. Had to keep the doors and window open if we needed to breathe. There is something wrong with the air quality inside the rooms.

3. Service: awful

I would highly recommend to stay away from this property.

We left the towels scattered around, but the maid did NOT change the towels, just folded the still wet towels and put them on the bed.

There was a man’s hair inside the hamburger.

The reception did not tell us that the breakfast had to be booked, nor was it shown anywhere when the restaurant opens and closes.

We booked an anniversary celebration online which costs 18,000 pesos and included a cake and half bottle of champagne. The reception said that she could not find the reservation. In the end we got the cake and champagne but the hotel charged us 23,000, without telling us the price in advance.

They sent the cake to the room, but did not give us any utensils to eat the cake with! I had to walk back to the restaurant to get them myself.

When we checked in, they told us our room was ready, but when we entered the room, there was NO curtains. Some maintenance men came in when I was showering to install the curtains. The reception gave us no prior notice at all.

Everything was just fine except the bed... on wheels: impossible to lock! Do not try to read with your back on the wall or having any non-sleeping activity without being rolled away in the middle of the room. Breakfast is fine but do not expect to eat light at dinner

Convenient with great restaurant

Convenient hotel with excellent restaurant in the middle of San Pedro. We booked tours of the major attractions through them and were very happy with them; we had great guides and ate great food in beautiful locations. Top notch breakfast, dinner also very good, more sophisticated menu than other places we ate in San Pedro. All that said, the quality of the rooms here varies greatly. Our first room had house music coming through the walls from a restaurant with outdoor speakers across the street -- not the hotel's fault, certainly, but not good for us. However, the hotel quickly found us another room, much larger, and though we paid a little more for it, it was totally worth it,. When another room like our original one opened up, they moved us back there. Overall the rooms are basic, with adobe walls, minimal amenities, no AC, but that wasn't an issue, it gets cool at night and each has a little outdoor area where you can sit, within the hotel's enclosed compound. For us the location, food, tours and overall look of the place made it a good stay.

A pleasant oasis in a hot and dusty town.

Staff were excellent. Breakfast was goodRooms were comfortable and well furnished but if you are disturbed by noise I can not recommend the room (15) next to the Main Street. I asked for a move and the staff were very accommodating. There is a restaurant bar on the Main Street which plays music after 12 and which caused the problem. I also recommend hiring a car from Calama. There were no cars available at Europcar in San Pedro. Also Liancabur bus company drivers are very casual in timing so taking your own car back to airport is better or book early back to Calama. The staff at Hotel Kimal could not have been more helpful during my stay. Thanks to Eugenio and Andrea in particular. If you are travelling alone you will probably not be able to rely on a tour becoming available from the Hotel so look around for options. Flamingo tours were fine on the Main Street.

not the best experience

The service at this hotel left us wanting. One night we took a late stargazing tour and came back to our hotel being locked up we rang the doorbell many times no one came to help we had to remove the fence post so we could get in. Also it says it has a hot tub it does but you have to tell them you want to use it at least an hour and a half before you want to use it. For the price we paid the hotel was not worth it.

Great service with friendly front desk personnel some of whom speak English. Property is cute and breakfast is nice. Rooms are small and dark but do the trick. Internet is very slow, when it even works. Don't expect to get value in San Pedro de Atacama, the place is insanely expensive - so even though rates at this property are high you aren't getting a 5* property. Think 3* property and then you'll be happy.

Everything is A OK, as long as you are able to make you self clear.Do not expect every one to understand or interpret your English correctly. We had misunderstandings concerning food (Salmon served while Tilapia was ordered) and concerning a tour (one site not visited but announced in the propaganda material). In both cases we were correctly compensated after some discussion.

The restaurant is perfect for the busy tourist and has a fine menu. The Hotel is comfortable and conveniently located one half block from the main street. The staff are particularly helpful and can assist with last minute details.

We were happy with our stay in the hotel although it was a bit expensive (but from what I've understood, so are the other hotels in the area as well). The wireless internet didn't reach all the way to our room, had to go to the reception with our laptop to connect to the internet which was a bit annoying.

The Hotel is very well located, almost at the corner of the street Caracoles, the main in San Pedro do Atacama. It's very confortable and clean, the pool is good and people there are very lovely. The only thing I missed was a TV, though I hardly stayed in the hotel. I stayed at Poblado Kimal and the breakfast was not there, it was in Kimal, which was not a problem because it's right in front of it. When we left too early for the tours, they left the breakfast prepared for us to take.

La habitación muy limpia, me gustó que el ambiente era muy tranquilo, el diseño tipo pequeñas cabañas de la habitación lo hizo todo aún más acogedor. La comida en el restaurante fue muy buena, no tuve necesidad de buscar en algún otro lado, además, el personal fue siempre muy amable. Otro punto a favor es la ubicación ya que llegas fácil a cualquier lugar.

O hotel está muito bem localizado, no inicio da rua Caracoles. Estacionamento nesta região é um diferencial. Quarto família era muito confortável. Petit bémol, la dame de la réception l’après midi est incapable de donner des info sur les visites possibles, n’a ni carte ni info. Dommage, car on ne va pas à San Pedro pour un bon hôtel, mais pour une région extraordinaire. On s’en sort quand même avec quelqu’un de très bon conseil le matin + un bon office du tourisme.

Nossa experiência no hotel foi excelente do início ao fim! A limpeza é impecável — tudo sempre muito bem cuidado e organizado. Os quartos são confortáveis e bem equipados, proporcionando ótimas noites de descanso.
A comida é simplesmente maravilhosa! Fizemos quase todas as refeições no próprio hotel e superou as expectativas, tanto pelo sabor quanto pela apresentação.
Um destaque especial vai para o atendimento: todos os funcionários foram extremamente atenciosos, em especial o Salvador e a brasileira Sevla, prestativos e sempre muito simpáticos. É nítido o cuidado com cada detalhe para que os hóspedes se sintam bem recebidos.
Por fim, vale ressaltar a localização, praticamente na rua Caracoles, o que facilitou muito nossa viagem.

O Hotel é bem localizado perto da Rua Caracoles (onde tem os restaurantes), é limpo, funcionários muito atenciosos, tem ar condicionado split, calefação, camas confortáveis. Dispõe de agua gratuitamente 24 h para os hospedes. Tem café e chá disponíveis 24 h gratuitamente . Como os passeios a maioria é cedo, se vc avisar na véspera eles preparam um picnic para vc levar. Chuveiro quente com boa ducha. Boa internet. Café da manhã simples e satisfatório. Não tem TV. O quarto é escuro.
Tem uma funcionária brasileira que trabalha na recepção, a Sevla, para nós brasileiros considero importante ter uma pessoa que fala nosso idioma e é super gentil e acolhedora.

A esradia foi ótima e confortável, localização excelente. O restaurante do hotel é excelente e o welcome drink um mimo gostoso na chegada!
Minha única queixa é a comunicação prévia ao check in... mandei mensagem para o hotel perguntando sobre transfer (que eles inclusive dizem oferecer no site deles) e outras dúvidas e eles nunca me responderam. Acho uma falha que passa uma impressão ruim antes da chegada.
