The hotel is excellent and friendly staff. It is close to street filled with shops and restaurants, and few minutes walking distance. There is daily evening social events - bread, cheese and local wines. All tour operators pick up from the hotel itself. Rooms are basic but clean, and nice. Manager Cristian is a super friendly person.

Absolute perfection.

Incredible location right in the middle of town yet quiet and safe.

Rooms are clean and beautifully appointed. Bathrooms are a bit small but they have great shower pressure and amenities.

Our room had a cute garden but there are many locations on the property to sit and relax.
The facility is beautifully kept and their customer service is incredible.

Smooth and easy check in and check out.

They totally spoil you with mid day snacks , afternoon tea and cookies and evening wine and cheese.

Continental Breakfast is available from very early am for people who leave on excursions and more options ( eggs etc) are available after 7 am. We left every morning very early so cannot comment on quality of the full breakfast.

The staff is incredible. Franklin, the manager, remembers everyone’s names and speaks to all guests to ensure their satisfaction. And everyone else follows his lead in providing incredible service to all the guests.

We were there for 3 nights and wished we could stay longer.

The staff, the location, the amenities were amazing. The spirit of the hotel makes you blessed. Atacama means daily tours picking up early. Thus, they serve breakfast starting from 4a.m. Although the size of the pool is small, we swam everyday. We enjoyed ‘wine tasting’ hour the most. The owner of the hotel is so generous and hospitable, as well as the staff.

A great room and a great experience

San Pedro is an oasis in the desert and this hotel is an oasis within the oasis. For starters, the room was very clean and comfortable. The site is amazing in the middle of town and it is right next to the church. At night, you can step out of your room and look up and see the Milky Way. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great, the afternoon tea is great, and evening wine tasting is great. I would give them more stars if a could.

Couldn’t imagine a better place to stay than this in San Pedro de Atacama. The location is ideal, right in the center of town close to all restaurants, bars etc but is quiet and peaceful. The design is simple and elegant. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, good water pressure in the shower. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a lovely wine tasting every evening where you can meet other travelers. I loved lounging at the pool in between excursions and while waiting to go to the airport after checking out. Breakfast is great with an egg station. They can pack a breakfast for you if you have an early morning excursion.

Terrantai - A super choice!

Terrantai Hotel is a gem i loved my 5 night stay there. The hitel is just beautiful, quiet rooms in the heart of San Pedro, anything is possible, early breakfast, super early breakfast, super super early breakfast.
The hotel has tea tasting, wine tasting. Its probably the most guest friendly hotel I have stayed in and i am old enough to have done MANY hotels. Applause fir management!

Amazing stay

Rooms were very comfortable and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was great - good selection with fresh eggs and orange juice available made to order. The complementary reusable water bottles and the tea tasting and wine tasting were a nice touch too. We enjoyed it so much we booked an additional night after our return from Uyuni.

The hotel is extremely well run. The staff is super accomodating.

Christian is truly a fabulous host. In addition to providing wonderful hospitality and recommendations, he orchestrates a memorable and interactive guest wine and cheese get together in the evening.

Architecturally the hotel was stunning, rooms opening on to terraces. The staff was very helpful. Centrally located in town. The hotel had fabulous amenities for the guests. There is a nice breakfast spread in the morning, wine tasting in the evenings, and a table laid out with snacks during the day. Wide range of guests making it interesting. Definitely plan on returning.

Beautifully preserved architecture surrounding a peaceful courtyard, where at night you can see so many stars! The hotel is an oasis in the center of town, very quiet and secure, with a secure parking lot a block away. It’s extremely walkable to shops and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable, have good WiFi and great showers with plentiful hot water. Rooms have good heating (which matters in July!) and nice down comforters extra blanket if needed. We were never cold, which was big concern for me in choosing a hotel. Beyond these comforts, the reason to stay here is the great attention and service. We got great recommendations for excursions beyond the most obvious choices as well as good recs for dinner. The hotel itself puts on a great breakfast with eggs cooked to order, cereals, and a full spread of cheeses, pastries, meats, toasts etc. They have an industrial looking nespresso machine and milk frother plus many teas - it’s great and it’s open early for those who wish to head out before sunrise! Coca tea is always available to help with altitude sickness as well as filtered water for your souvenir reusable bottle. They also put on a tea tasting every afternoon and a wine and cheese tasting every evening. It’s fabulous! Clearly a lot of love has been put into this hotel and it shows - the staff have thought of everything you might need to make your stay comfortable and fun! We hope to return soon!

This is the nicest hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. If it is within your budget, treat yourself!
Being my first time to SP de A, the outward facade is very understated (as is typical in this unique city). Upon entering the hotel, you will n be rewarded by the beauty of the facility and the amazing staff.
The staff is very attentive and genuinely friendly in a manner that has become all too rare in the travel industry.
The showers are good. There are many good restaurants that are nearby and all walkable.
Given my tight travel schedule, my only regret is not spending more time here.

We had a lovely stay here, the staff were excellent and service was good, they fixed a couple of issues with our room straight away. The ‘wine tasting’ for guests every night from 6:30-8 is really great. It’s a lot more than a tasting (basically free wine and nibbles during that time), great way to meet and chat to other guests (if you want to!)… We had the most basic room which was small as expected but the bathroom was very small, you can only really be in there one at a time, we are two tall guys and there really wasn’t much space, you have to step down into the shower which makes the shower door frame very low, banged my head a couple of times. And they could do with another light where you unpack your bags as you can’t see anything at night, we had to use a torch. But all around it is a great hotel and would stay again, maybe in a bigger room!

this lodge cost about $200 / night is way overpriced!
staff are very friendly particularly front desk agent carla.
but rooms are small with no ac/ heating or tv/ phone in room. small bathroom but shower works well with hot water. you would expect a bit more for this price. otherwise, bed very comfortable, loved the location, clean facilities and evening free wine sampling is a nice touch. just a bit overpriced.

This property was a unique oasis in the middle of the Atacama Desert. The owner, Christian, has succeeded in making this hotel special with complimentary tea time at 4 - 6 pm and wine tasting from 7 - 9 pm in the common area next to the reception office allowing guests from everywhere to mingle and get to know each other. Buffet breakfast was delicious every morning including but not limited to fresh squeezed orange juice and other fruit juices, homemade bread, fresh fruits and eggs cooked to order. The room was very clean and comfortable. The complimentary guest offsite parking was in a secure parking lot and each guest using the lot is loaned a key to the gate. I am looking forward to return visit.

Amazing Stay, Will Be Back

The staff at Terrantai was outstanding and went above and beyond in helping me to get my required 24 hour COVID test to get on my flight home despite it being Dec 31st and a holiday. If it hadn't been for the efforts of the staff here, I wouldn't have been able to board my flight on Jan 1st; the amount of effort they expended helping me was impressive, I cannot thank them enough. The hotel itself is also outstanding. I've stayed in everything from hostels to 5 star resorts and the beds here were just as comfortable as any 5 star resort. My room stayed cool throughout the day despite the heat outside, the daily cleanings were thorough and the daily breakfast buffet was really nice (and they even provided gluten free items to accommodate my allergy, which was wonderful). If I ever come back to San Pedro de Atacama, I will absolutely be staying here again.

NEVER NEVER-NEVER stay at this.property. Complete rip-off. Rooms so small could not even open suitcases. No AC even though hot desert. Couldn’t even open windows. No offer to change rooms even though booked higher class. Had to change to another hotel. No offer to help or make good. Youth hostels in San Pedro offer better rooms at 1/5 the cost than this so called premium hotel. Did I say HORRIBLE. Proceed at you own risk.

Edgar at the front desk was particularly helpful. Edgar helped us with numerous issues including finding a rental car, planning our outings and securing a reservation with a transfer agent.

Only problem during the stay--which was not the fault of Edgar or the Lodge--was that our scheduled transfer/van service to the airport simply did not show up. They were scheduled to pick us at 5:40sm and by 6:40am they had still not arrived. The front desk at the Lodge called them repeatedly and the van service folks always seemed to be \"10-15 minutes away.\" Fortunately, we were able to get a ride with another transfer service which luckily had space on their trip to the airport. The inept transfer service in question is called \"TransVIP.\"

We loved Terrantai lodge. It was an excellent location right behind the church. The hotel manager and team gave us great tips on where to go and when. They also recommend 2 restaurants which were great, especially Ckunna with outstanding steak! We hired a car from Calama and did most tours selfguided. The scenery was spectacular on all drives! We hired bikes one of the days and cycled through the devils throat all the way to the church (the guides say not to do this but not sure why) Some sections you need to lift your bike over rocks but otherwise a great cycle for someone who rides. Before you pay for you bike check which one they are you going to give you as they display the new ones then wip out the old o es for you to use! Ps put sunscreen on esp on your hands!

The most beautiful place in San Pedro

From the moment we checked in, they made us feel incredibly welcome. They spoke at least 4 languages, the staff could not have been more helpful and frendlier, and the hotel was beautiful. The pool is quite small so we had a bit of a problem with a big group of girls that had coped the pool for 2 days straight, but not sure what they could have done about it - maybe set some policies over pool usage. Apart from that, I’d definitely stay there if visiting San Pedro again.

We stayed 4 nights at Terrantai--Christian and the other staff members are very friendly and really work very hard to make your stay enjoyable. We didn't know anything about the town and were pleasantly surprised that our hotel was right in the middle of town which we found to be very convenient.

They had wine and cheese tasting nightly and we participated 2 of the nights--met some really nice people from all over and shared stories, experiences and tips.

The room was very comfortable--the bathroom is small, so one person at a time. It has a patio area and the hotel has several quiet nooks to relax outside of your room. Their breakfast was very nice, typically with a couple hot items, cereal, breads / etc (including GF). Coffee, hot milk and hot water for tea, fruits, etc. All in all, we really enjoyed our time there and felt it offered great value and we really appreciated the staff most of all.

Good location but expensive and lacking

This hotel is centrally located but was disappointing given the price yet lack of service, cleanliness and comfort. For example, upon arrival we found quite a lot of hair on the floor of the bathroom and had to request a re-cleaning - which was done satisfactorily. However, it was a rather unpleasant welcome. The room we had was quite noisy as it was located next to the cleaners closet where the hotel workers would congregate chatting at all times of the day, including the early morning. They banged around in there getting equipment or whatever and were a regular disturbance to us when we were resting. In addition, when asking for advice and help from the front desk about activities, restaurants, companies to use and places to go in the area, we were told that \"we cannot recommend anyone\" which seemed absurd since hotels must field all kinds of questions from clients who look to them for guidance when staying there. Folks were friendly but not helpful. In conclusion, our comfort there was affected by the tiny size of the room, noise and cleanliness.

We stayed at Terrantai Lodge for 4 nights. We could not believe how close we were to the centre of everything. The hotel is very nice very clean and comfortable. There was always fresh water fruit and snacks available. Happy hour daily 7-9pm withChilean wine and cheese. The staff were incredibly helpful with any questions we had. As there are so many tour operators they would not suggest anyone in particular.I would highly recommend this this hotel to anyone visiting San Pedro de Atacama

Beautiful lodge-type hotel in the desert

Terrantai was a wonderful hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms quaint (albeit small and the beds hard), and the staff are welcoming and friendly! The wine and cheese social each evening was also great - a nice way to wind down after a busy day out exploring and an even better way to get to know some of the other guests. Breakfast was delicious and varied in options. And they provide water and refillable water bottles for your stay and excursion. Plus, the location in the center of town can't be beat!

The Star of San Pedro

As soon as you leave the bustling street of San Pedro and enter into the 350 year old stone walled lobby of this amazing hotel, you know your going to experience a wonderful few days. The first impression is one of calm and serenity. Caroline and Christian gave us a very warm welcome. We were the taken to our room passing through a labyrinth of stone walled alleyways, which are beautifully lit up at night. The room was very comfortable. A lovely touch, awaiting on the bed, a canvas bag containing a water bottle to use on our travels. In fact everything about this hotel is of understated quality, from the lounge areas to the swimming pool, to the excellent breakfast in the morning and the wine and cheese tasting in the evening. This is a great chance to meet fellow guests and exchange stories after a day's outing. I can't thank everybody enough for giving us such a fantastic time in this absolutely superb hotel.

Great Staff, Cool Property, Wine and Cheese

Terrantai is a cool little hotel with a great and attentive staff. The pool is really relaxing and small in a nice way with only 6 lounge chairs. The rooms are very nice but the library room and terrace areas are nice to hang. They have complimentary wine and cheese 6-8pm which is a great way to meet some other travelers and get a good buzz pre-dinner. It would be nice if the hotel had a bar/restuarant/spa but San Pedro de Atacama is so small it's just a matter of taking a few steps out the door.

Avoid this Hotel! Horrible staff attitude

arrived after booking through expedia- room did not match 20% of what has been promissed. asked to change room. They charged my cc and litetally found myself out of hotel without knowing what to do (as taxi/other transportation was not available). worse experience. 0 hospitality. AVOID!!!

Beautiful desert hideaway!

Our stay at the Terrantai Hotel was fabulous. Staff were so friendly and helpful, knowledgeable about where to eat, and tour companies to use. Daily wine and cheese free of charge btw 6pm - 8pm was a great touch that made us feel really special.
The hotel was an oasis in the desert, with a lovely pool and many areas to sit and relax when not out touring the sites.
Rooms were small but adequate and well maintained and serviced.

Overall a fabulous place to stay - we recommend it to all!

Wonderful oasis.

We are happy to say that amid the chaos of SAN Pedro Atacama we found an oasis in the desert.
Very good hotel, very good service.
They had when we were staying, wine & cheese happy 2 hours. This was wonderful as it enabled us to meet other guests and this was excellent for planning tours and places to eat.
The atmosphere at the was hotel was friendly and congenial.

Beautiful with wonderful view of the ocean

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. we bought an inclusive package that included meals in the restaurant and some guided tours of Easter Island. The guides were wonderful and we had amazing meals! we loved everything about our stay. the staff was attentive, gracious and thoughtful.

Incredibly good location but a bit too expensive for what it offers. Our room was cozy but not so big, pool isn't heated and the front desk staff weren't very friendly at all times. On the other hand, the decoration is impeccable, the breakfast was simply amazing and the people responsible for it couldn't be any sweeter.

Beautiful hotel, very clean & beautiful architecture
Great breakfast ( and great staff also at breakfast room)and all the staff is very helpful ; there was a young man at the reception of hotel who was so smiling and so helpful with any question , definitely a Plus for this hotel ( other people at reception were fine , but not as spontaneously helpful )
Only remark : I paid $ 370. a night, I saw that the most expensive price at hotel counter was at US$ 360...

Right in the heart of San Pedro de Atacama.

A beautiful handcrafted open-air design. Adjoins the town square and 400 year old church. Everything is within walking distance. Plus, there is free parking in a compound just down the street. Great breakfast. Friendly bartender. Helpful staff. We would like to return someday soon.
