No towels when we came in, I have to ask multiple times and came after 5hours and gave 2 only and we are 2 adults and 2 kids. And there’s falling out decayed wood/dust from the headboard of the bed.Water heater not working properly, it will be super hot and then super cold. Our next day, my kids are taking shower and suddenly water stopped. We called and said they run out of water amd have to refill. During breakfast we saw german cockroach under our table. Only nice there is the pool with the view of Mayon Volcano and overlooking to the city. Not a good experience for our first time.

Staff are polite & friendly,offers help.However maintenance took a little time to fix problem in the room.Closet creaking badly-quick oil in brackets maybe?The bigger pillow,unusually big & hard -so uncomfortable.Sad coz it's beautifully located.Kids running in the hallway,guests doors kept open & you hear voices echoing in the hallway @ night.There should at least be rules in place for that.Plated food in the stead of breakfast buffet was horrible.Wishing them luck.All in all I appreciated the staff.❤

Inconsistency and miscommunication amongst themselves are gonna hurt their business in the long run. Although we love the hotel and has been going there for awhile, we won’t be going back

We reserve a room for 4 pax. First day, they made us pay for breakfast because they only give breakfast for 2 pax. So we did. Our 2nd day, we were surprised coz the staff helping us went to the front desk to double check our booking. We were told that we don’t have to pay extra since our reservation is for 4 pax. We told them that they made us pay for 2 pax on our first day. They told us we shouldn’t have coz it shows that our reservation is for 4. They won’t refund our money.

While our overall stay was good, there are still lots of things that need to be improved. The hotel may consider the following opportunities for improvement:

1. Considering the facility is on its soft opening, prices for overnight stay could have been not that expensive as if it is already in full blown operation. On top of that, holiday surcharge should have not yet been implemented. In fact, there’s no wifi yet and shuttle service is not yet available. The breakfast is also plated unlike before (buffet).

2. Toiletries should have been checked prior to guest occupancy. Shampoo was provided upon request.

3. Trash bins should have been provided accordingly. We still requested for trash bin in the CR.

4. Shower drainage was clogged.

5. Service was not that fast. We still need to make a follow up to provide us with shampoo and trash bin.

6. Restaurant menu was very limited and yet we were informed that there is a corkage fee for every heavy meal brought inside the premises.

7. This may be funny but there was a monitor lizard on the ceiling.

8. The socket for the electric kettle was not compatible to the outlet. Good thing we have brought an adaptor for our laptop.

We hope that in our next stay, we can see improvement.

Booked for my brother’s wedding and considering that the city has just been hit by the typhoon, i was ready to be forgiving. Some amenities were closed and its ok. The place still looked ok despite the damages left by the storm however i learned that there were 2 other events booked for the same night as my brother’s wedding and they were not prepared for it. The ac in the venue wasn’t working, the bar does not even have ice and drinks available for purchase and the staff serving were not very attentive. You should check on your events manager he/she is not doing her job well.

Instagram-worthy infinity pool overlooking Mayon

Pros: We love the infinity pool adjacent to a smaller jacuzzi pool overlooking Mayon Volcano. Soft towels and robes that look new are provided. The rooms are spacious and the beds are firm and comfortable with also a great view of Legazpi City and the harbor especially at night. The staffs are friendly, courteous and very helpful. One immediately provided me with a flat iron and ironing board when I requested one for our wrinkled clothes. There was a fire dance during the night. There were no extra charges. What was written in the offered hotel deal was followed to the letter. For a Twin room with 2 adults and 2 kids, you get 4 free buffet breakfast.
Cons: Buffet breakfast was not great, only chicken afritada, beef tapa, sayote with ground meet, pancit bato, fried dried fish, champorado and various desserts. The adults only liked the coffee station with different flavors and egg station with boiled and scrambled egg and where you can ask for unlimited omelette with various fillings and the kids liked the cereals station and pancakes with several options for syrup topping. Sadly, there's no maple syrup. It was also unfortunate that it was a cloudy day and there was a province-wide blackout so our room was not prepared more than an hour after check in time. But for a 4 star hotel, there should have been a generator in good working condition. However, the good thing is we checked out a little past 1PM and I was not charged extra for it.

The property was the most expensive in the area.. And as such you would expect top rate service and facilities...
The hotel is in major need of refurbishment.. The carpets are badly worn the rooms badly need new furniture the bathroom needs attention.
Food and drink service was soooo slow... Unbelievable slow service.
Insects running around the bedroom.. Not ideal.
Really.. Don't waste your money expecting top rated hotel. Stay at local cheaper hotels and save your money and you know what you will get.

A good stay that can even be better.

The Oriental is always my preferred choice. It’s vantage point is unmatched and on a clear day you are blessed with an excellent view of Mayon. The hotel’s rooms are comfortable. I love the firm pillows. The lifts are Schindler but sometimes the buttons act up. I prefer hotels with a gym and the Oriental has one but it needs organising and a good ventilation plus a water cooler. The food is good. It remains my first choice for Legazpi.

I've stayed at this hotel over the years since 2014 for my work trips.
The staff of this hotel were really nice and responded quite fast this time.

The external facade of the hotel looks nice, but over the years, the internal condition seems to deteriorated.

This trip, we booked 5 rooms.
While the beds and bathrooms were mostly clean, each room had its own set of issues.
A summary would be:

The shower in one room was stuck on Rain mode, the other in shower. One tap seemed to be stuck on blast mode. Water was lukewarm at best in some rooms.

There were ants on the tables even though there was no food left lying around and other rooms had roaches. The fridges was barely able to chill any item inside even after 24hrs.

One room had issues with the power, and the staff had to change the card for the power to work multiple times because apparently, the card lost its magnetism.

The food for breakfast, while there was slight choice, at times was really salty. The dessert table, again was riddled with ants. Eg: The Leche Flan plate had ants around the rim just sipping in the syrup.

For such a hotel, they charged for each bucket of ice as well.

To be honest, we managed to get proper sleep each night and we were out by 0900hrs, so it worked out.

But unfortunately, we may start looking at alternative hotels for our next trip.

I came from Canada,visiting the city. I've been wanting to stay in this hotel because it seems that it has a good location.
When I get there at 8:30 am, they said that the check in time is 2pm. I was quite upset that the check in time is too late. Coming from overseas all you want is a room to take a rest from a long flight.
I asked if they can offer me an early check in, and they said that it's really their policy that the check in time is 2pm, I would have to pay the half amount of the rate for the day if I really insisted to check in early. ( it's just a waste of money) so anyway, I'm already upset but what can I do. So after 3 I went back to the hotel and check in.
The room is just ok. I was not impressed. I waited to Check in thinking that fine maybe the rooms are really great but no. ( I don't really think it's worth my money). I've been to so many hotels, they even allow u for early check in especially if u travel from overseas or other country. But this one, no. ( this is minus customer service points)
The washroom, is ok. The flush is not working, I have to asked them to fix it.
The curtain broke when I tried to slide the curtain to see the view. Again they needed to fix it.
The drawers are not in very good condition.
The staff are very nice and friendly
The lobby looks elegant.
The infinity pool is great, but not the washroom by the pool. It's dim ( needs more lighting)

So overall 3/5. I wouldn't recommend it nor I'm going back to the hotel.

Second time we have stayed, ist time was great, this time however we noticed the general outside condition of the building was looking weathered, needs coat of paint or cleaning, including the glass around pool/ bar area. After taking a seat at outside bar area later in the evening, and realising we weren’t going to be served at table, I approached a male bartender, who seemed annoyed at being disturbed from doing nothing. Breakfast had a good range, but as items ran out, didn’t get replaced. First in first served I guess.

Holy Week 2019 in Bicolandia

We booked 3 rooms for 3 nights (two deluxe twin rooms and one executive suite) at the start of Holy week 2019. The check-in process was smooth though one of the rooms isn't immediately available.

The hotel offers panoramic view of the city and Mayon volcano, Mikko our bellboy is helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were ample sized and the executive suite's dark walls enhances sleep for those having trouble with bright rooms. Unfortunately, the sliding door in one of the rooms were broken and we are having hard time closing and opening it. The comfort room is large and water supply is strong.

Buffet breakfast menu is different each day as not to be redundant and the food tastes well. Since the hotel is located on top of a hill away from the city center the area is very quiet for relaxing stay. Parking is ample except when there's an event at the ballroom. Strong wifi connection deserves a praise .Spa is a bit pricey but worth a try. The best asset of this hotel is the infinity pool which offers great view of the Mayon Volcano, there's a separate kiddie pool and bubble jet pool to cater different preference. Wish they replace the water periodically as evident with the strange smell of the clothes after swimming.Make sure your rooms were always double locked as the elevator is accessible to everyone. All in all it's a pleasant stay that deserves a thumbs up.

Travelling to legazpi from manila, we got stuck in a lot of traffic so we were trying to contact the property to inform them of the lake check in, after numerous attempt we finally was able to do so. It was nerve wrecking trying to call the hotel all numbers listed on their website was just ringing maybe we got an answer only after the 15th try. The hotel is in a really nice location with respect to the view of mayon but it is buried in the middle of residential houses with narrow streets so getting to the hotel would be a challenge at night. Over all the entire hotel is nice with staff that are friendly al though they are short on staff in the buffet area, turn around on table cleaning was quite a wait, refilling food takes a lot of time too, so come early. Our room was nice except for the bathroom that has an awful smell comparable to sewer, we called the attention of the staff and their only solution was to keep the exhaust fan on all the time, but sadly the smell is still evident.

The hotel has an amzing view of the Mayon Volcano. It is a totally unique elevated combination of an urban and natural view. The photos from the trinity pool area and \"Volcanic Grill\" restaurant and bar are stunning.

The staff are very helpful and friendly.

One staff member deserves special mention. He is the POOL LIFEGUARD, STEPHEN, who SAVED A LIFE!

My wife and I were sitting up near the far end of pool when a young 10 year old boy arrived with his parents.

The parents went to the change rooms. The boy then jumped in the deeper pool, rather than the shallower one for kids. The boy started to struggle to keep his head above water.

Stephen, being very switched-on and alert immediately saw the situation, and, without a second thought, jumped fully clothed into the pool and saved the life of the boy.

We congratulated Stephen about what he did. He humbly said he was just doing his job. For saving someone's life we said he should get a pay rise or bonus and even a commendation! There's a boy still alive today and a family still with their son and grandson because Stephen did his job with outstanding hero service.

Momentary lapses in attention can happen -so without being judgemental- it's worth noting that parents also need to supervise their kids continously around any water (pool or beach), just like busy roads. Luckily, in this situation, Stephen was watching because not all hotel pools have as good as supervision as the Oriental Hotel, Legazpi does. WELL DONE!

We had a room facing Mt Mayon which was great. The hotel is manned by staff that are friendly and helpful. The three nights we stayed we ate in the restaurant which provided very tasty meals at a reasonable price. Every night the staff put on a fire dance show to entertain the guests which was great.Because the hotel is located away from the centre of town you need to organise a taxi or tricycle to go out at any time of the day. The only negative really was that we did notice a few cockroaches in our room which was a bit unfortunate.

My only concern is that at 6 am I went to make my wife tea and found Green Mint instead of breakfast.
Not being put off I went to make coffee and found the packet solid and while i was able to melt it with water there was no spoon or stirring device and I had to use my pen.
In all other respects the Hotel was excellent and I should commend the young lady who booked us out. She was under pressure and remained calm and helpful.

The staff is excellent, the service #1, the location and the view #1 BUT THERE ARE BUGS IN THE ROOMS. My bad, it took me 3 nights to realize what was biting me. After 3 nights, I have about 100 bites all over me. Same for my son. What bug was there in room 528? Please tell me so I can know how to take care of it as it itches like hell! (I have pictures to support if you want). Also, I had tried on multiple occasions to contact by phone and email the hotel to know if there was a shuttle from the airport and I got no answer and no call/email back. I had to pay the taxi although I found out after arriving they did have a shuttle. The rooms are nice but when you look further, it is filthy. The counters are filthy, the walls, the floors and bugs in the bed. I saw them but could not identify them and did not realize they would be biting me all over. Now I freak out and need to clean everything to make sure they do not enter into my house! Seriously, go elsewhere. I am the type of traveler that is very accepting and do not get distressed by anything but being bitten all over is not acceptable.

The bad: limited food choices, substandard rooms, ants and roaches, price
Bottom line: Hopelessly overpriced.

Seems to cater mainly to Chinese customers. Stayed only 2 nights, switched rooms for one with a view after an encounter with a cockroach in the other. Then came the ants. There must have been food bits somewhere.
Rooms have a 4 star layout, 2-3 star furnishings and 1 star maintenance. Although decent size, an awkwardly sofa too big for the room is squeezed between window and bed. Same goes for the Chinese coffee table the surface of which (like all surfaces in the room including bathroom) has seen better days and clashes with the decor. Wallpaper not made for the climate cannot take the moisture. Curtain in disrepair. Bedside lamp light controlled by inserting/ pulling plug or unscrewing bulb. Nice mattress and bed sheets though (the glass is always half full I guess). Two no name coffee packets provided (I did not dare try). With tissue box, hand towels, conditioner you are on your own.
Three restaurants, but only one offering Chinese food operating when I arrived. Breakfast buffet sumptuous.
Pool designed as infinity but under-filled with water, so, infinity experience lost.
Did I mention the super friendly staff?

We book this Hotel because of the nice Reviews. The Hotel view was fantastic. Breakfast is good.
The staff were nice but the only thing we regret is the Service for towels. The first night i have to asked for towels. there was nothing in the bathroom. The second day, they have clean the room, but again there were no towels. We arrived in the evening, but they still did not have time to fill in new towels. We have to call again and complain, first they did bring the shower towels then you have to call again and ask for Hand towels. What a bad Service. They only told me that the towels are in laundry. But it is not my problem, they have to stock and buy more towels.

Hotel management should do their job

Such a waste of premier location— the view of Mayon and the city is beautiful. Unfortunately, hotel management does not maintain the facilities. They cannot even clean the water marks and dirt on the glass windows and railings, as well as the grime on the bathroom tiles— things that a good hotel does on a regular basis. They should first focus on upgrading the rooms instead of the lobby.

I like the mountain view from our room and pool bar.. the nightly fire dance and pool bar..but there was an issue I feel wasnt takin care of in a timely manner and properly handle such as the dirty water issue brown dirt was coming out of the shower I was told to let the water run till it clear up after 2hr the water still dirty the explanation was the water system is deep well meaning they have a bad flirtation system 2nd issue is there was live worm on our raw tomato which the supposed team captain saw and acknowledged again the explanation was the supplier only till late afternoon when I was moved to another room there was no management team reach out to me about the issue 3rd breakfast buffet staff need more training they don’t clean the table right away they wait to long even after customers already left

I booked 3 rooms one of the room have insects, like ants, bugs,cockroaches. I asked for the supervisor nobody came instead they move my sister and her husband to another room , again the room have insect, again I asked for a supervisor instead a kid with a Baygon showed up, and said he will spray the room, he made mention that he sprayed the room before my sister occupied the rooom. A female showed up in the room saying that she is in charge of the insect prevention of the hotel, she keeps blaming the guests that the cause of the infestation are guest bringing foods. Again they offer them another room, but my sister got frustrated and just let it go. I understand that hotel is under renovation, but that’s no excuse for not maintaining it clean. The rooms were all not fully cleaned. There coffee marks and other stain all over the place especially the bathrooms. I was there last year, and it was not like this, what a disastrous stay in this hotel. The staff are excellent, they are all helpful, but the facility is horrible

For the price I paid and after my visit , I would have not made reservations at the oriental . The staff was very friendly and the view from the hotel is beautiful . Upon check in , the employee Stephanie did not seem to be pleasant . She was short in my questions to her . The pool is probably the only reason I didn’t check out the next day . My son needed to keep busy while staying .The rooms are outdated , smelly and has bed bugs . I immediately started scratching after a few hours after lying in there bed .The bathroom had a horrible stench and mold . The cleaning staff were very friendly and greeted us every time . I will not return and advise others to look elsewhere . Ask for recommendations from friends who live in legaspi about newer hotels .

it took a long time to check in we are there at 1:30 PM and we are able to go to our room at 4:00 PM.

The toilet in the evening has no water..no flush.. a very disappointing experience ....I am expecting a room with good facilities especially the bathroom....

I would like to ask how to get my official receipt from Expedia? I need it but the staaf at the hotel told me that I can get my receipt thru expedia...please help....

Needs Renovation Badly.

This place is run down. the staff are very nice but slow. We were moved several times to different rooms. old musty, very outdated rooms, have a TV but does not work, wallpaper coming off, etc. alot more issue. need to completely renovate this place. has a great view. Wifi do not work.

Walls, and carpet have visible stains and dirt. The coffee maker is dusty. It looks like the room was not occupied for years. It was nice but I think it was not worth the price knowing this hotel is supposedly of high class.

bathrooms and furniture are outdated but upgrades are in progress, hopeful my next stay is a bit better but clearly an improvement from my last stay 4 months ago. staff is great, buffet is great, view is great, just need some minor upgrades and deep cleaning in the bathrooms.

MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT

Absolutely no initiatives from staff: when a called taxi is cancelled, no further call t'occuper get another one! A/C failing in the room. Exhaust system INC the bathroom as noisy as a jetliner. No hand towels INC the bathroom. Magnetic room key recurrently not working. Wanted to order green papaya salad and Pad Thai at the restaurant : was told not the season for papaya and no prawn available for the Thai noodles. When mildly amused, I asked what was then available to make it faster to order, was told that no starter was available anyway. In-room and lobby wifi not working.
To summarize, absolutely pathetic hotel with completely delusional staff Andy management suffering fro mm inflated ego, believing it is a 5 stars when it would struggle to make it to 2!

A must in Legazpi

The hotel itself is so well positioned...on a hill, with sweeping views of the town and best yet, perfect views of Mount Mayon. The lobby is gorgeous and the service is impeccable. The room was very nice and clean, with all the modern amenities one could need. After three months in SEA, this was a really nice treat. Cocktails at the outdoor bar overlooked the gorgeous Mt Mayon, the perfect backdrop for sunset. I bet sunrise would be even better but I checked out far too early. I saw reviews about mold, foul smells in the room, etc. which made me hesitate booking but I was really pleased with the overall experience. I see the hotel is undergoing room renovations but I think they handled it very well and it wasn’t a hinderance to my stay. I was really impressed with the overall experience and would recommend it to anyone as the best place to stay there. They also drove us to the airport very early and packed us a breakfast for takeaway.

We thought we’re going to enjoy our stay but by the time we check in they informed us that the infinity pool is not available until morning. But when we call early in the morning it is still not available and told us that it will be available from 11 am so we waited and unfortunately the receptionist informed us that the management instructed them that the pool is not available until next day. It is the only reason why we choose their hotel even though we know it is old and have some problem in the interior of the rooms.

Great view of Mt. Mayon

I love the location. The view is simply amazing. We ate at the pool area and we had a great view of Mt. Mayon. Service though at the pool area is another story. Waiting time is too long and it seems like they were not organized. Most of the items in the menu were not available, asking for the bill and change takes so long. There was a fire dance and that was entertaining and we appreciate the effort.

Short Vacation in Legazpi

I didnt expect that the price of this hotel is not worth to pay! Imagine how expensive but then the cleanliness and comfort in rooms was not quite satisfying.
First, the hotel doesnt smell nice like you want to stay there and not to go to somewhere,
Second, the room toilet was not properly clean, you can see the stain, stingy glass, and smell awful like fish, the toilet was not proper wash, smell like storage, and the matress was not new,,
Third, the swimming pool is not clean and well maintain, sharp edges of tiles, service towel smell horrible and smell stingy,
I am not so detailed when it come to needs in hotel but value for money,, not worth since i can compare to different hotel in Asia, i hope the hotel will not sacrifices the quality that they need to give to the customers!

All i can only appreciate is the food which is difinitely nice and serve well!

When I went to my room the shower doesnt have hot water, the faucet was not working. As per the staff there is a problem with the pipe that has to be fix. Maintenance issue is the last thing you wanna have when you are staying in a hotel

We stayed only for one night which was more than enough. The lobby was beautiful but everything else was disappointing. We walked down the hallway to our room and there was a dead cockroach in front of the door across from us. We get inside room 401 and it's spacious. Bathroom faucet did not work. Toilet needs a good scrubbing. Water marks and stains were all over the sliding door. We checked our balcony and one of my cousins gets stung by a wasp. There were dead wasps on the floor which meant they have been there awhile. There was also a wasps nest on the right hand side of the ceiling so be careful. Beddings were old. The door on the closet was missing. Carpet needs a wash. The next day we went to go check out and was surprised that the cockroach was still on the floor. We weren't to keen on eating the breakfast that came with the reservation so I cannot comment on the food. During checkout, we told the staff that we have another reservation (unfortunately) and to please make sure everything worked and there were no wasps on the balcony. Info went from one ear and out the other. No apologies or assurance that we wont have the same experience.

Hotel location is okay. good place for unwinding. i have a little problem when i check in, they couldn't find my booking which is actually booked online. My daughter was the one who booked me that is why i didn't have the voucher with me when i checked in but she make sure that it will be all taken care of. She even called the reservations department to verify and confirm my booking to make sure that they received the booking. She even emailed them the voucher that was sent to her email because it is impossible to give it to me on that day bec we are already at the airport. Well i think, when she called at around 11 am, the Resa who is on duty acknowledged and verified the receipt of the booking. When we arrived, the front desk told me that i don't have a booking. I waited for more that 3 hours before they give me the room key. I am almost in the senior stage, for me to wait that long is a very inconvenient. Please fix your booking system to avoid these things in the future.

Now is the time!

This is the best time to visit Legaspi. The January Mount Mayon eruption has scared off most tourists. Flights and hotels are clamoring for customers and you can get a great deal and very personalized service in one of my favorite areas of the Philippines. As an added bonus, on a clear night you can watch the orange glow of lava as it flows down the volcano. This is addition to gorgeous jungles, beautiful lakes, caves, waterfalls, surf beaches and whale shark tours. Now is the time!

The view from the Oriental is the best in the city.

When we got there, the toilet was not working. The TV remote control was not working. The carpet was soaking wet. I requested to move to another room but they could not as they were fully booked. If this is a 600-peso room, I would not complain. But I paid more than 10k pesos for this room and did not get what I paid for.

Disappointing below average!

Late check in, staff not good we requested for a water to drink we never receive till we are about to check out, room smell bad esp. the bathroom. Most of the menu in the restaurant are not available, no water to drink!!!, elavator was dusty and couple of finger prints on the walls, telephone smells bad really. Ceiling on the shower falling apart. To many concerns not enough space to write. They need to pay attention to every detail. Guests come to a hotel for comfort not for discomfort...

Worst Hotel Ever Stayed In

This hotel is the worst of the worst. Here's a few points: (1) if you want a room that is full of mildew and is worn out and not repaired (2) if you want to go to the restaurant and have roaches running across the reception counter while being assisted for seating or if you never want to use salt or pepper (3) if you want to call daily to have the complimentary water left in your room (4) if you want to call for clean towels daily (5) if you don't ever want your floor cleaned or have room service at 6pm daily (6) if you want to be called every night at 9pm to ask if you want spa service (7) if you want to be charged for everything, like even looking at a hotel worker (8) if you want no smiles from any staff member or be told hello (9) if you don't want any kindness or service of any kind (10) if you are expecting quietness at any time........then, my friend, this is the hotel for you.

Wish Facilities as Decent as the Staff

Hotel staff was generally nice. Breakfast buffet was excellent. View of Legazpi was awesome.

Facilities could have been better. Room was musty. No hand towel. Roaches. Outdated channel guide. Body wash in shower was empty. Jasmine Restaurant substituted egg-drop soup for crab & corn soup order. Coke and rum was awful. Restaurant service dropped off once food delivered. Cost of ice for room went from free, to 50P to 60P, depending on who you asked w/no explanation or apology for confusion.
