Food splatters on fridge. Room stunk and so did the hallway as soon as you get out of the lift. I paid way more than it was worth. Will not be staying again. Very dissatisfied. Not to mention the uncomfortable beds and ammount of dust. I work in cleaning and have past hotel experience, love to know who trains these people, not to mention our room was never serviced whole stay even after speaking to cleaner.

I walked into the premises and questioned whether this was a half way house given the seedy looking people hanging in and around reception and lack of teeth… the room was a disgrace and had clear water damage as all ‘timber’ looking features were swollen flaking chip board, bubbles in the paint work and the paper thin pillows left a bad taste in my mouth and this was after they charged me $25 for parking for one night - I have stayed in cheaper places that were 1000 times better than this place! I will never ever recommend this place!

The breakfast was amazing but the rest of stay average . I had to ask for a pillow as the one provided was so flat it was many years old . Room locked us out - key wouldn’t work . No bath mats or even bin liners. For the price not good value for money . Pot plant soil all over the floor in the main entry close to the kitchen . Leaves everywhere outside. Run down and dirty.

Location is excellent. The facility inside were 20 yrs ago style. The mug are very dirty. Given the cheaper price, this is a ok. The buffet break only 17 bucks/pp, this is very reasonable. One night say is ok.

Front staff is very friendly and helpful but the room is not good at all. Lift, corridor and room is so old looks like a backpacker hotel.
Ibis is well known company we didn’t expect hotel will be that bad, bathroom door very hard to lock, bed condition was horrible and so tiny room not enough space. Blanket was so old and that came from the cover make mess our clothes from the wool.

Got into room. Went to use toilet. BUT someone had used the toilet and let’s just say, left their mark and not cleaned it. Cabinets had water damage and were peeled. Don’t even start me on the lift, disgusting.

The staff were average. The hotel was like a rundown halfway house. I have stayed in cleaner and better looking backpackers.
The hotel smells of cigarettes and stale beer, the lift had a urinal cake quality and the room itself had so many paint chips, warped and cracked furniture and my sheets had holes in them.
It feels like a place that you would stay if yiu just wanted a place to pass out after a bucks night.

Service at check-in was slow due to the receptionist being busy serving beers.

No room cleaning even though I was there for 3 nights. The manager apologized and assure me it would be done after night 2, but it wasn’t

Breakfast on morning 1 was a shambles. Lights weren’t even on and staff still setting up the breakfast after the scheduled open time

Unfortunately this was a bad experience - they don't do housecleaning & when I asked (on day 4) if I could get clean towels and the bathroom cleaned as I was there for 5 days, I was told there was no housestaff available. The place is falling to pieces, the rooms are very old, they stink and they are filthy. The best part of this place, was the driveway out.

IBIS HOTEL REVIEW.

DITY CARPETS AND WALLS, AT 1AM WOKE UP TO THE SMELL OF SEWER COMING FROM THE BATHROOM SHOWER DRAIN. WENT TO TELL THE DESK PERSON AND ALL THE CLEANING GUY DID WAS POUR CHEMICAL DOWN THE TOILET. I WAS TOLD THEY MIGHT HAVE A DIFFERENT ROOM FOE ME LATER IN THE DAY BUT....
NO GUARANTEE. LATER THAT DAY I WAS OFFERED ANOTHER ROOM BUT IT WAS ON THE SAME FLOODED FIRST FLOOR TWO DOORS DOWN WHICH WOUKDNT HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE.
THE BED HAD TWO FLAT PILLOWS ON IT UGGG
FITTED SHEET, FLAT SHEET. DUNA THEN A FLAT SHEET ON TOP OF THAT. WHEN I PULLED THE TOP FLAT SHEET OFF THE DUNA , I SAW THAT THE DUNA WAS HORRIBLY STAINED. THE OVER HEAD LIGHTS WERE EXTREAMLY BRIGHT, MORE LIKE OFFICE TUBE LIGHTS. THE TV WAS NO BIGGER THAN A 20 TO 25 IN. VERY SMALL. THE ROOM HAS NO PICTURES ON THE DIRTY WALLS AND THE BATHROOM LOOKED LIKE SOMETHING FROM OUT OF A SPACE SHIP. AND THE ROOM WAS VERY SMALL. THE SHOWER DID NOT HAVE TEXTURED FLOORING WHICH MADE IT VERY SLIPERY WHEN WET AND SOAP GOT ON IT.
THEN I WAS TOLD THAT THE FIRST FLOOR WAS FLOODED IN A RAIN STORM AND ALL THE ROOMS WERE RENOVATED. YA RIGHT.
THEY ADVERTISED AN IRON BUT THERE WASNT ONE. IT DID HOWEVER HAVE AN IRONING BOARD. FUNNY.

》》》The heat and air unit is full of mold.《《《 THIS IS BAD FOR THOSE OF US WITH ALERGYS.

The chair i had to sit in was an old hard plastic patio chair. Ruff on the back.
Second night stay, I was woke up at 3am to the people in the room above me stomping or banging and dropping stuff on the floor.

The bed was high which I really liked, however the pillows are way too thin, plus there’s only 1 extra pillow so no good when 2 people want 2 pillows. I used the spare blanket under my pillow to try and raise it up a bit. The cupboard the fridge was in is old and tacky. You can see water damage. No big deal but looks old cheap and nasty. Shower was good. Some of the outside of the room doors were pretty filthy. Great location and no fuss with check in or out. Plenty of food options around . Really loved some of the decorations around the place, like the silverchair album cover and Aboriginal history stuff. Will stay again if I need to be in Newcastle.

Disgusting... Amount of cobweb in our room .. oh we only service your room every 2nd day nothing was status on hotel.com saying about that ..
Blockage drainage problem in shower so it over flowing and couldn't do much but given us extra towels to stop from overflowing...
Someone who do a perfect room hotel deep cleaning job (me) you should be ashamed your hotel cleaning wise .. not highly recommend staying for their value price as I have stayed better place with well clean and present invitation

A typical Ibis facility, if you have stayed in one before you know what to expect. Smallish room and bathroom, fridge, TV, Kettle, etc. OK for a couple of nights when travelling. Can get paid breakfast downstairs.

Easy to catch tram to various places. Walk to Coles supermarket. They clean every second day. I asked for my room to be cleaned on the second day at reception in the morning. I came back in the afternoon. It was not cleaned. The housekeeping had finished for the day. I even left the cardboard message for my room to be cleaned on my doorknob that faced the corridor.
I had to get new towels and a bathmat by calling reception after 5 pm.

The receptionist was unprofessional, on arrival she served other guests who arrived after me before me. My key wouldn’t work I had to return to the main desk 4 times before I could access the room I had booked a queen and stayed in a double.
There was no soap dispensers in my bathroom and no towels.
On my second night I was once again locked out of the room to be told sometimes the system automatically and at random will check guests out.

The fridge was also not cleaned and still had previous people food in it
The fridge made a loud noise all night
The entire place did not feel clean
Also need to bring your own pillows as pillows felt as though no cushion in them
Lucky I am short as the towels only just covered my body to dry me also
It was cheap for the night so I guess I got what I paid for

This is what you expect of an Ibis property, clean, compact and perfectly suited to my needs for an overnight stay.
The staff were extremely responsive, when there was a problem with the first room they sent me to, the problem was rectified immediately and they added some complimentary wine and parking.
There is transport into the centre of Newcastle if needed, though its not far to walk to Pubs, Clubs and shopping centres.

Bang average hotel. Good location in Newcastle West end, easy walk to transport and waterfront. Rooms adequate, although modular bathroom is pokey. Staff service was generally very good. Parking costs extra $25.

Breakfast $20 was terrible - bad options, little choice, struggling to keep up even with minimal patronage. Better going to a cafe down the road.

Air conditioning in room 320 drips a lot of water. Had to turn it off. Phone doesn't work so couldn't call down to let you know. All in all not great is it? Still you get your money so who cares right?
