The apartment was in a great location, with easy access to Beaumont Street and its cafés and bars, and only a short walk back to the apartment. It was very clean, modern, and worked perfectly for our family of five.
The only small downside was that we didn’t receive the check-in details as mentioned in the email confirmation and had to call to get them. Aside from that, it was a lovely stay and we would definitely come back. Thanks!

In this instance, cant review the property itself as we couldn't stay due to the north coast weather incident occurring at the time (severe weather and flood warnings for Newcastle). Property was uncontactable for advice the day before our stay. Left multiple messages without reply? Contacted Wotif who after considerable time advised that they couldn't get a response from the property either. Very poor form.

Undesirable things such as the floors were absolutely filthy, power points that weren't secured to the wall properly and broken blinds that don't roll back up.

I have already complaint about this property but only response I got was sorry. There were cockroaches in the kitchen area and cupboards. Bed sheet were not changed from previous stay and hairs everywhere. Very unhygienic and unprofessional. Never staying there even for free.

This is quite a modern set of apartments in a quiet (if rather run-down) area of Newcastle. The apartments are huge...very nice for spreading out! The only drawback was poor communication about entry to the apartments; the front desk never seems to be manned and on both occasions I stayed there a text with the entry codes failed to arrive, leading to multiple calls to their office to send it.
Otherwise good value for money.

I have given mainly 4/5 as the property and check-in and out process was very good, with only a few things to note re: small details within apartment. The location of the apartment is superb. Less than 10min drive to city centre or the beautiful beaches and short walk to eatery! The small details which dripped the rating was that the shower head fixture in wnsuitee bathroom looked to be bent out of shape/broken and my Mum hit her head on it when trying to shower so we just used the other bathroom for our stay and the other small note was that some of the cupboard doors were missing a handle. Otherwise it was fine. If you like firm matress you may be disappointed at they had really soft mattresses.

Check in was a joke ! There is no signage to say that the small key panel was related to the Hamilton apartments. It was on the middle of letter boxes.
Once we managed to get through the front door after a phone call, there was no signage as to which floor the apartment was on just an arrow to the lift with all apartment numbers listed .
If you are going to cut back by not bothering to employ any one on reception at least put up some signs .

We departed a few hours after arrival as both TV's were not working, the toilet roll holder in the ensuite bathroom fell off the wall, loose floor tile in the hall way, loose powerpoint in the main bedroom, floor not clean and finger prints on tv's and glass table.
Asked for a refund, was denied as they have a no refund policy, will take this to the NSW Department of Fair Trading. Spoke eventually to one of the \"Managers\" by the name of Tony, he said he was awere of the issues I raised however the no refund policy applies, he then hung up on me.
Could be really nice but in this instance the property did not live up to expectations and the web advertised facilities were \"NOT\" available.
\"Do not stay there\", customer service is non existent at this property.

The property was fine; clean & tidy with most utilities you would expect from a serviced apartment. However, there were two issues that bothered me.
1. The King size bed is made up of two single mattresses rather than 1 full king mattress, it annoys me when hotels do this. The middle part of the bed was uncomfortable, so you avoid it and essentially end up sleeping in what feels like a single bed.
2. Although this place had curtains… my gosh it was soo bright. My room was facing the street and the lights were coming through. I’ve attached a picture for reference which was taken at 11:30pm.

Extremely unclean. Hair found all over the apartment, in the beds, on the carpets, the rugs and the floors. lots of food crumbs, dust and general debris just under the sofas and all around the windows.
RUDE STAFF when checking in. Check-in procedure not easy if you don't have an Australian mobile number.
NOT SECURE. Despite saying security is their main concern, this is simply not true! Front door to apartment block found open on multiple occasions and door from car park into apartment block also found to be left propped open on many occasions.

The oven was unusable, it filled the apartment with acrid smoke when used and stunk the place out for the rest of our stay. Minimal kitchen utensils available.
Tiny parking space due to most of the space being taken up by old washing machines & tumble dryers stacked up against the wall.

the floors were tiles but were dirty and full of sand i had to sweep so we good walk on it with no shoes

The glass pipe, lighter and bottle of water on the kids windowsill was disturbing. State of sofa bed sheets was disgusting. Along with the rotten food and broken stubby underneath the sofa bed. Holes in the walls, not enough towels, windows didn’t shut properly and no correspondence from HEA when emailed about these concerns. Not recommended at all!

The property it’s self is ok but I would not stay there again. The checkin process is via txt message and email it took 4 phone calls to get the correct access codes we ended up with 4 different codes for our stay 1 for the front door 1 for the car park 1 for the door leading from the car park to the lift and 1 for the apartment door. The bed configuration was not as requested and it took 3 phone calls to get this corrected on the last night of a 3 night stay. The washing machine leaked and flooded the floor they would not repair the leak until the following day and requested that we use our towels to mop up the water which meant we had no towels the following day for a shower.

This property has no reception, the check in process isn't extremely seamless. Parking is available, however you have to request this when you arrive - not sure I was offered the option upon check in. You then receive a code to access the carpark - as it turns out we were issued the wrong code due to a recent issue, if it wasn't for another guest coming in we wouldn't have been able to access the carpark or the rooms. Oh and there are 2 wings to the apartments - make sure you check your room number at the ground floor to ensure you go the right way!

Unfortunately our stay at this property was not enjoyable. I don't know whether it's something about crime in the local area, break-ins or what, but the security aspects felt pretty over the top. Every communication contained a series of warnings about everything from their use of facial recognition software to dire threats around not holding parties on the premises. On entry there is a huge bank of screens in the foyer showing the angles of their many CCTV cameras. There were at least four separate PIN codes (room, front door, external garage, internal garage) to get access to different areas of the property.
Given all this security we were disappointed to find that the parking spot we'd booked and paid for ($20 per night) was not available - there seem to be owners in the building as well and the garage is full of stuff. Whilst we were there we saw multiple cars competing for the one available spot. So notwithstanding all the security we ended up parking on the street down the block and having to carry all the bags for our family to and from the apartment.
The apartment itself is clean, relatively new and modern, albeit the sofa bed was busted and two of the towel rails were broken off the walls. The whole vibe had a pretty sterile feel to it though which when combined with the OTT security made our kids feel a bit uneasy.
This might be fine for some people, but we were hoping for 'homely' and got 'fortress.' Just be aware of this when booking and you'll be fine.

ONE app I had to download and then didn't use

Unnecessarily complicated and I then still had to ring old mate to get FOUR separate PIN numbers to access the building - one for the garage, one for the internal garage door, one for the front door and one for the room. The Pentagon has less security then this place.

Overall the check in process soured the whole experience. Wouldn't stay again nor recommend.

** This fails to mention the run in I had with the sour laundry woman who parked in my spot and then threaten me buying ringing the Property Manager.

This property has so much potential..

We stayed for 5 nights, the location was outstanding, with access to buses and eateries in abundance within walking distance. The cleaning person who called in the first day could not have been better. However, the unit had not been cleaned adequately with floors dirty, the dishwasher left with food scraps still there, a light that did not work, a missing broken shower shelf and walls and skirting needing maintenance. It was disappointing as the property could be perfect with not much more effort. We contacted the manager through Hotels.com and got a great response, in terms of fixing a couple of things. Thank yiu so much..

Fun city living with great amenities and location

Location to where we needed to go was perfect. Lots of great restaurants and pubs and public transport nearby that took us directly from hospital to ocean to shopping centres. Kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed, the appliances and laundry were all excellent, and check in was so easy and convenient. The people who work there are so pleasant and nice, and communication was very good. The large covered balcony added a nice bit of space in the afternoon, except for the days that we had heavy smokers in the room below us (cough cough cough)
The only things that I had any quibbles with:
1) just beware if you're there for work that the 1BR unit doesn't really have a separate working space so that was a little tough on morning Zoom calls from the kitchen/dining table.
2) the 1BR is tiny for a long stay. 8 days was perhaps pushing it, so I suggest maybe going for a larger room if you're there for longer than 5 days.

The apartment was very well located, clean and very well appointed. However this is not somewhere I would recommend for a quiet weekend. Despite the very clearly communicated No Party policy and notices on the doors and courtyard walls, the design of the block meant that outside noise from activities on balconies and courtyards was very loud. During our 2 night stay we got very little sleep. On the first night 2 groups of drunk guys were coming and going between their apartments on either side of the block, yelling and knocking, slamming fire doors and then apartment doors almost continuously until just before 4am. We spoke to them the next day and their behaviour was better on the next night. We were woken both mornings around 7am by children playing outside on their balcony. The next night was a different group drinking in their courtyard, playing music followed by the sounds of some very loud sex.

To be fair to the apartment management there was a number to ring to report noise and we got very close to ringing but that is not really our style. Basically the design of the block means that all noise carried and that some people were unable and/or unwilling to appreciate the affect of their behaviour on others. Sadly, we will not return.

I booked Hamilton appartments but on the check in date received SMS which directed me to another place - Honeysuckle appartments. No communication at all on why the accommodation changed.
Honeysuckle (Chiefly) appartment is spacious, with good amenities and comfortable bed, but cleanliness is below average. Found someone else's bow left with food in the microwave!
Do not recommend booking any of the \"executive appartments\".

Pouring down with rain. Called reception and he could not locate our booking, and asked for my credit card details over the phone up front which I felt uncomfortable as no explanation why or greeting. We asked if we could at least be let into reception under cover to sort it out but he did not allow this even though there are two codes provided. I would expect this at the very least from a customer service viewpoint. Once inside, the bathroom and bedroom had a bug infestation and used bandaid found on our blanket taken from the wardrobe (as it was cold). We booked this accommodation last minute due to two flat tyres late at night on a Sunday for which we were only able to get assistance for in the morning. I called the reception this morning to request a compassionate late c/o due to a wheel alignment booking for 10am and 4 of us here, the bad weather meant that 3 of us would be in the rain/cold again waiting. We have already had to spend money on accommodation, two new tyres, essentials for the unexpected overnight stay etc. The same man I believe as spoken to initially wanted to charge us for the extra time with no flexibility. No empathy at all. It’s times like this customer service goes a long way. I am a seasoned traveller and complimentary late c/o in a 5 star hotel is even common practice. I was willing to let gothe bandaid find and sleeping in a bug infested room under the desperatecircumstances we were in but the customer service has forced me to write this review.

Stayed here before and all OK, however this time I didn't get the room I booked (2 bedrooms - King and Twin) but got a room with two single beds.
The room smelt of cigarettes, had dirty cutlery, a blocked bathroom sink, a shower tap that fell off.....etc.
I messaged them - nothing. Contacted Expedia who seemed to have trouble getting through to them too.

Do not book using app! If at all....

Booked an extra night on the night before checkout via the app... booking was confirmed and payment deducted from my account.. next morning received msgs from management to checkout by 10am.. just before 10 I contacted them to question my need to vacate when I had booked and paid another night.. the response I received was rude and abrupt, bordering verbal abuse, for booking via the app, because he couldn't find any record of my booking, he ordered ME to contact hotel.com and have them rectify the issue with him (which I did) and to never book a room with them via the app again. (I WONT BE! At all!)
Was a very upsetting and unpleasant experience.
Besides this, on day of arrival a few things were noticed which were not to standard of expectation such as: dishes and cutlery were packed away all still dirty, no chux cloth provided, or dishwash tablets, no hairdryer in bathroom as in description, I booked for 3 guests yet only was provided 2 bathtowels, dirty ice in icetray, etc, ..

It was conveniently located. I could not find the TV remote in the bedroom. Someone came and found it for me. Under the bed has not been vacuumed for a long time. The blinds need adjusting. Over time the joins on the plastic chains have slipped, so it is not possible to fully open most of them. The 4th drawer in the bedroom closet cannot open or close, and is on an angle. I never did work out how to use the main TV - nil signal was all I got (a common problem with serviced apartments). The plants out the back are in desperate need of watering. Overall it is nice but I think some repair and maintenance is needed.
