The hotel staff welcomed us warmly and were pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. We were upgraded to a room with a pool and a spectacular view of the bay.

There is a frequent shuttle to Patong and Kamala for only 50 baht.

The hotel app is very convenient for ordering food and everything else you need.

There is room for improvement in the bathroom - the shower flow was uneven, and the tap in one of the two sinks was clogged.

Ocean view on balcony very noisy with traffic which I was unaware of when booked. Also, did not include breakfast buffet in booking however, when we went to buffet, the hostess looked up room and said I had breakfast paid. I sat down and started eating when I was approached by staff asking me to view my booking while I was eating. It was very disruptive. I went to lobby where they charged me the $1200 baht breakfast which I NEVER argued about, but, I did not like how they were accusing me of doing something wrong. Do not plan to stay there again. Plus, after I bought excursion, I waited 20 minutes for my receipt and, when I asked for receipt, I received a very unpleasant response - Like, I just paid $4000 baht and just wanted my receipt after 20 minutes. Staff was not friendly.

The room was to die for! Huge private pool and view of the sea. Room service was super easy and getting down to Bangala Road was so easy we just took two bikes (mopeds or motorcycles) and were there in about 10 minutes. You’ll definitely need to take a bike 7/11 if you need anything but honestly the hotel has it all for great prices. I’d definitely stay here again!

The room was more rundown than I would have expected. There was sawdust under the bathroom mirror that appeared to be caused by insects in the wall (the cleaner used bug spray in front of me to deal with it). It is not close to a beach. You need to take a car (Bolt) for about a 15 drive in either direction to get to a beach front area. You can’t walk there because the highway is narrow and winding.

The room was lovely. The only thing that was a big issue was that the hot water took 10-15 minutes to get warm/ hot every time we took a shower.

The staff there were great, very kind, accommodating. However, I do feel like the room could have been attended too more thoroughly. I did not like seeing mold in the bathroom, especially around the floors of the shower, when first arriving. The floor had minimal stains, but still a bit noticeable. The room wasn’t entirely like the depicted layout online, however it was more or less the expected room and view. I almost didn’t receive that room however, being that the room was not ready when I arrived. Not to mention I was quite late for arrival due to immigration visitation lines, my RESERVED hotel transportation taking 30 minutes to arrive, and the traffic. At the hotel, I still had to wait for about an hour for the room to be completed. Any other day, it wouldn’t have bothered me too much, but I think it especially did on arrival due to the long flight. I’m not going to blame the reserved transportation experience on the hotel. Maybe that’s just due to the traffic which I learned about once I arrived to Phuket. However, my main concern was definitely the room. And I’m not too sure if the beds were supposed to be that hard… but they most certainly were. I was not used to that, so waking up every morning was a killer. Parts of the hotel are quite nice and it is located in a spot with stunning views. However, I do believe they can improve their shuttle system. I was almost late to excursions coming from breakfast to the lobby. Otherwise… I don’t mind the walk.

The villas are brand new, everyrhing in there is gorgeous and clean. Very spacious and private. Location is great, its about a 10 min car ride to central chiang mai. The breakfast is also amazing. Overall great and amazing place to stay at. No downsides to this place at all

This hotel was a huge disappointment and does not come close to a 5-star experience as advertised online. Check-in was poorly handled and unwelcoming. The room was dirty, and the pool suite deck was also unclean, which made it feel neglected and poorly maintained. The TV was almost falling off the wall, which felt unsafe and unacceptable. Breakfast was another letdown—the buffet had a very limited selection and the food did not taste fresh. Overall, the property is seriously misrepresented as a 5-star hotel. Based on my experience, it is nowhere near that standard and I would not recommend staying here.

The pic in expedia was very wrong. You have to book villa. Otherwise, you will get a room towards the street noise and view of eletrical line crossing the barely seen ocean view. I had to upgrade my room. Also the resort part had a different lounge and reception. Also the faucet was broken and the neck rest in the tub was dirty and stained. I dont know how they can charge what they charge.

The property was extremely nice. Literally just as beautiful as pictured. I love the app that’s suggested you download. You can do everything from the app including ordering a shuttle from the room to the welcome center to meet your grab(uber). There’s not much around the property so be sure to download the gran app to get the city which is like 10-15 minutes away. Most excursions were at least a 45-1 hour ride. The food was just ok, after ordering room service we didn’t eat at the resort, we would go in the city to get food which was cheaper and flavor wise overall better. I would recommend this resort 10/10 times.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price

We had a very poor experience at Wyndham Grand Kalim Bay. Service was disorganized from the moment we arrived. Check-in took almost one full hour, and we had to wait in both the welcome lobby and the main lobby with no clear communication. Instead of focusing on getting us to our room after a long trip, staff immediately began pitching their membership program, which felt pushy and unprofessional.

The issues continued once we finally got to the property. The car services were consistently delayed, making it difficult to get around. The pool was dirty, not at all what you would expect from a hotel at this price point.

Food service was equally disappointing — meals were cold, bland, and overall very low quality. Nothing about the dining experience matched the hotel’s advertised standard.

We originally booked for three nights but ended up checking out after the first night because the stay simply wasn’t worth the cost. Unfortunately, this hotel did not deliver on service, cleanliness, or quality. I do not recommend it.

Disappointed for a 5-star expectation.

I feel betrayed as I booked a 5-star hotel from hotel.com. This property is nowhere near a 5 from what I experienced there.
Had to call for help with luggage from my car as I arrived. The Check-in took forever. My room was in building B, which was walks away from the main area and restaurant. You take a shuttle to get to breakfast. Spider webs, water pools, condensates on walls, smelly in the walkways to the room.
Room: Average. Counters in room weren’t clean. Sink faucet so flashy that water pooled everywhere. Towel shelf broken and hanging. Floor remains slippery from condensation.
Called three times for a room service to get a robe replaced and weigh machine battery replaced. During check-out waited half hour for bell boy, finally taking the baggage by just ourselves.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you are expecting a pleasant 5-star experience.

Amazing value for such a premium property! We were automatically upgraded during our August ‘25 stay and thoroughly enjoyed the serene spaciousness of our ocean-view, private pool room.

Only downside was the time it took for hotel cars to come get us when called. We ended up walking down the slopes at times rather than wait around so not too big a deal. Wyndham Grand is also not within walking distance of marts or food vendors so be prepared to call a Grab (Asia’s version of Uber) or order from the hotel’s 24-hour room service.

A gem of a place in Phuket and definitely recommend for a romantic getaway or even for young families (they had fun floaties to use at the community pool :)

We enjoyed our stay here @ the Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay. From GM Dom to Front Desk Best and Restaurant Manager Egg to our fantastic hostess Pond we were made to feel very welcome and treated with the upmost courtesy throughout our stay. The resort has fantastic amenities and there are numerous cafe and restaurants nearby which have fantastic views across the bay. We leave with fantastic memories of a wonderful vacation in a truly magnificent location.

My best friend and i stayed at this hotel to celebrate our 40th birthdays in Phuket. The hotel is beautiful and they have great staff and services all around. The shuttle is very convenient and cheap, Patong beach and Patong city are both close by.

But what makes this hotel and experience far above any other stay anywhere else comes down to one single person, Pond. Pond is the executive secretary and is by far one of the best people we've ever met. We have traveled all over the world ans no one shines Pond. We met her on our first morning there while having breakfast at the Latitude restaurant at the hotel. She instantly greeted us with a smile and warm kindness. She chatted with us and gave us recommendations on things to do around the island. We asked her about one specific breakfast bread we loved a pervious morning and she instandly had the kitchen make it fresh for us! She would always bring us our morning coffees, had to go cups ready to go for us with our favorite iced tea, and even had our favorite breakfast bread ready for us on our final morning. She waited for us at check out and walked us to our taxi. While we loved every part of our 5 days in Phuket, we loved Pond even more. We will truly miss Pond, the rest of the kind staff, at this hotel even more than the rest of beautiful Thailand. This was the trip of a lifetime for us ao far and Pond was the shining star in it all. Whenever we return to Phuket, we will return to this hotel and to Pond.

The property is in a quiet and convenient location; you can easily grab a ride share whenever you’re ready. Majority of the staff work extremely hard to meet your needs. I reserved the pool room and enjoyed it better than the hotel main pool. The best part about this hotel is the food. Everything ordered from room service and the breakfast buffet was amazing. I hate they badgered me about purchasing a timeshare, I’m on vacation and I don’t want to be hassled. Also, there are gnats in the room that were annoying at times.

This hotel was wonderful in many ways!! The view is unbeatable, the staff were fabulous and the food was terrific!! I stayed with my adult granddaughter and we had a very large room with two beds. This arrangement was perfect for two travelers. The downfall is that it is not walkable to restaurants or shopping. It is really in a quiet location (which is unusual for Phuket)

Facts: 1.If you’re in buildings A&B (none villa/pool rooms), it’s very noisy due to being near the main street. The view in the building is great and can see the beach.
2. They offer transportation which is an additional price but the vehicle is a Benz.
3. All grab and other transport are picked in building A&B. A walk for others.
4. Staff were nice!
5. Not far drive to Patong Beach, restaurants, and other attractions.
6. It’s away from the other hotels and places so it’s not as busy/congested
7. Rooms were clean and stocked.
8. Not walking distance to the beach.

Opinions: I wish this was commented on more in the reviews which is the HARDNESS of the BEDS! Changed rooms and both beds were extremely hard. They do give you mattress pads to help but you really need more than one.
2. Food was okay. Not bad or great!
3. Amenities were not extravagant as the pictures made them look.

When you first walk in, the view will take your breath away. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. They are truly committed to making your stay a special one. The location is also perfect for anyone who wants to have easy access to the crazy party scene in Potong Beach, but also wants a quiet place to relax and spend quiet time winding down. I highly recommend this hotel and we will be visiting again soon.

I stayed 2 nights and they came to do cleaning my room at almost 5 PM, I refused the service because it was really late and I was getting ready to go dinner. Room service should be mid morning and if they stuff our
Mini room they should be accounted for it.

Great hotel, although it is on a very steep slope, you are encouraged to use the App to do any requests, which we found awkward? But the view and the pool in the room was beautiful.

Overpriced resort with below average amenities.

1. Our flight arrived after midnight and checking in was quite troubling. We were taken to Main lobby from Welcome lobby with all the luggage and brought back to the Welcome lobby once again after check-in.

2. Both our bathrooms had faucets spraying water everywhere. Had to request repair the following morning.

3. Breakfast choices were quite poor compared to other hotels in the region. Staff were not very attentive when items needed refill.

4. Food was below average, whatever cuisine we chose.

5. Every time we requested for something it required multiple reminders. For example, cutlery and plates were delivered after an hour, after 3 reminders.

6. Most staff are nice and helpful except for a few. Bartender at the Lobby bar was quite rude.

7. While check-in we were told that we would need to request shuttle to go for breakfast at the restaurant above the main lobby. We found out that there were multiple shortcuts to walk up there.

The Wyndham Grand Phuket is a beautiful hotel. My room offered an impressive view of the sea, and each morning I was greeted by a mesmerizing landscape. The hotel is conveniently located near Phuket's old town and beach, facilitating easy access to taxis. The staff members were friendly and demonstrated a commitment to customer service. I particularly appreciated the innovative feature that allows guests to order food to their rooms through a mobile application. However, there is an area in need of improvement regarding room conditions. Upon my initial check-in, the first room I was assigned exhibited a moldy odor; nonetheless, upon bringing this issue to the attention of the staff, my room was promptly changed.

Enjoyable stay

We really enjoyed the property and the room/view was beautiful. We also liked that it was slightly removed from Patong. The staff was kind and helpful as well.

The only issue we had was that, although there were plenty of nice looking options, the food was below average for all of the meals served at the hotel.
