It’s unfortunate we have to leave this review but we would like others to be aware and not experience what we did as Phuket is know for its beautiful beaches. We fell into the worst experience stay here. We had a feeling something wasnt right from the moment we got there, we kept attempting to not focus or think much about it and enjoy the beautiful ocean view it gives. The restroom toilet, tub and small shower are in one room not giving a good air flow or a vent becoming very stuffy and unpleasant drain smell. Our pool was shared with two other guest next to us. There was other guest above us and then rooftop where it could be a bit rowdy and loud not recommended as many were throwing cigarette buds and spitting down into the pool we aren’t sure if they realized or considered of other guest underneath them. As we were going to bed we kept having a strong odor of urine in the room making it unable to rest well. We then decided to undo the whole bed and see what was going on that is when we felt absolutely disgusted and upset the bed sheet had urine stain and strong Oder the mattress was stain and we headed over to the lobby and kindly tried to explain the unfortunate experience as they did not seem to accommodate us or refund us for the inconveniences we coming across, we decided to check out the next day book elsewhere.

We loved Zenmaya Oceanfront Zeascape. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Mike the resort manager had excellent communication, and wanted to ensure we were happy and taken care of. If you’re looking for a relaxing couple of nights, this is the place to go, we had a room with a shared pool and couldn’t be happier. A little out of the way, so not really walkable to shops or other restaurants, they have a new
Executive Chef on staff so we are excited to see what he does with the menu.

It is like a hostel and the facility is quite old. Room and toilet was dirty. No hot water from 7pm till next day morning because the hot water machine was not working. And the staff was not care of it. They told you to shower when there is hot water but they actually didn’t know when the machine back on service. No refund or compensation at all.

Unfortunately we didnt get to use the spa as there was still some debris in the system which they did send an engineer to fix; however this should have been seen to prior to our stay.

This was a beautiful place to stay. The location was quiet, but a walk/drive to anywhere really, which we were okay with. The staff was all very attentive & kept the place looking great & made sure we were always taken care of. They would call for a ride, arrange dinner or an appointment. The spa was also wonderful, would recommend.

Amazing view, enjoyed the infinity pool as well as jacuzzi in the room. Very clean. Friendly staff, trying to please but not annoying, big plus. Breakfast did not excite, just ok. No beach. Gym pretty much dead.
Dinner seemed pricey, and the security said that there is nowhere to dine up close and we have to take a cab. That is not true, and I did not appreciate him lying to us. There is an amazing Mex-Thai restaurant with great view literally 2 minute walk from hotel, great prices and great food. They also have a bus about once in 4 hrs that goes to Jungceylong 100 baht a person.

The room we stayed is facing main road and close to elevator, So we got some traffic noise and the elevator sound. We felt the bed is too soft, but that's our personal preference. Get the sea view room if possible.
We took the bbq seafood buffet recommended by staff, good service but the seafood choice was very limited (1 type of fish, mussels, squid, crab, prawn only), should have offer a few more choices.

The hotel has a nice sea view but no access to beach . It’s about 5km from Patong beach and it’s vibrant street. The hotel provide shuttle service to town street but not free. Staff were a bit robotic just doing their jobs.. I didn’t feel them cordially welcoming or friendly yet all were polite.

It is an excellent place to stay. Calm, picturesque, warm staff, good food and great ambiance.
Loved it and would strongly recommend travellers to stay here.
Only one thing if I may suggest them to change is the frequency of their shuttle to Jungcylon mall and make it free of charge for the guest staying in the property.
Overly excellent experience - would love to come back again and again.

The only thing I liked was that my room had a private pool from my deck. The mini bar was posed to be free. I found out that my husband and I were only allowed to have 2 bottles of water each a day. Then 50 bath each. It was almost 100 degrees and this place is far from everything. You need a very expensive taxi ride to get anywhere. They wanted 1500 bat to take us back to the airport when it was only 800 to get there from the airport. The restaurant ran out of food. The shuttle to Patong was supposed to be free and was not. It took us to a shopping mall and back. No soap, blood on the floor never cleaned since day one, mini bar not filled on two days out of 3. If I could I would give them a 1 rating only for my view and pool. I will make sure no one I know goes to this hotel. On top of it, the staff except for the beverage manager were snippy and nasty!

This is my second visit to U Zenmaya, and I will return again when next in Phuket. This is a beautiful, boutique resort, 6 kilometres north of Patong away from the hustle and bustle of being in Patong. The rooms are beautifully set out and furnished, the views are stunning and the staff very accommodating. This would be one of my top places to visit when in Phuket.

We are a big big fan of the U hotel chain, but this hotel is the worst version of this hotel chain. Food was just ok, service terrible.

The hotel was obviously an OLD HOTEL with some renovation to fit the chain's standard.

Poor Guest Service - Absolutely disgrace!! that the lady who checked us in gave us such a negative first impression of the hotel. We checked at 5pm and have called them in advance for an hour to let them know the check-in time - then we were told the room was not ready. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! its not like we did an early check-in, then the lady told us with attitude that its the 24 hours stay policy that we had to wait for another guest to check out at 6pm AS IF ITS OUR FALSE. Then we told them we had called in advance to let them know already....then they changed their mind to give us the room. BIG BIG DISGRACE. They could have given us a room without going through the drama and giving us such a negative first impression. The front desk lady ruined our experience, and we wish we did not spare our last night just to stay at this hotel.

I like the room that's facing the sea. Especially if you have a jacuzzi at the balcony where you can relax and watch over the sunset. The next thing that I like about U Zenmaya Phuket is the infinity pool with the spectacular sea view. Lastly the quality of the food in U Zenmaya Phuket is good and price reasonable. The staff are very friendly and helpful but the service level yet to be improve. They are not attentive to small little things such as requested for firm pillow but till the day we depart, they still didn't get us the firm pillow despite our numerous reminder. Anyway, our overall stayed is good so will definitely come back to U Zenmaya when we visit Phuket next year.

Wow, can I rave enough about this hotel? It was hands down the best hotel I ever stayed in. My only complaint is that they only have four rooms with the hottub near the balcony, the other rooms have the hottub in the bathroom which is not as beautiful. (Don't miss the happy hour at the bar with amazing sunset views, but do miss the massages, they were overpriced and bad!)

Loved this hotel! The check-in service was a great experience from being able to pick out my toiletry scent to firmness of my pillows. The breakfast that was included was really good, with a large variety to choose from. The staff was kind and friendly and assisted with any questions or requests that we had. We extended our stay and booked a different room view, and they were able to get us in the room early in the morning so we could enjoy the rest of our day. The room/pool views are beautiful, the property overall is beautiful. The area is also amazing, at the top of a cliff, but yet within walking distance to one of the elephant sanctuaries and less than 5 minutes on scooter to the busy but fun Patong Beach. When I come back to Phuket, I will be staying at this resort again!

Nice resort with beautiful views but too far from Kamala Beach as transport to there cost us approx $35 Aust return, not something you could do too often. Reasonably priced Hotel Shuttle into Patong was very good and we used this a lot. The resort itself was very nice we had pool access room , our first room was under the infinity pool 2 floors above, we had to move to another as the water dumped over into our pool and over us . Breakfasts were adequate but always cold, therefore not always enjoyable. Staff were always helpful and pleasant. Our last day was spoilt by a very large family that had moved in next door who were on their deck with 5 or more children screaming and yelling from early morning,when we checked out we advised staff to this in the hope they may have done something about it before someone else had their holiday ruined by this very inconsiderate family.
Overall we had a very nice stay at U Zenmaya .

We stayed at the Deluxe Seaview Pool Access, the room setting is chic and cozy, my 3yo daughter loves it instantly! The jacuzzi wasn't working at first but housekeeping got it fixed quite quickly.

The staff decorated the room because it was our anniversary and treated us to a cake as well ! The room has fantastic views and we absolutely love the Jacuzzi. However the hotel is quite some way from the main area, and even though it was stated as free area shuttle on hotel.com, the hotel charge 100 baht for a round trip to the shopping centre at stipulated timings.

We booked the Seaview Suite and were very happy with the room. Even more spacious than expected (that never happens) and quite nice and comfortable. Great view of the bay. The staff was quite cordial, warm, and eager, but seemed a bit young and inexperienced. When we went to check in, we were told the room wouldn't be ready for another 3 hours, which is less than ideal. Luckily we were just coming from another hotel in Phuket. If we had been coming straight from the airport after our 26 hour flight from New York, this could have been a major problem. There didn't seem to be much effort to make up for this either, but we went and enjoyed the hotel's pool, which is beautiful, also with an amazing view. Unfortunately, while we were swimming, the staff decided that it would be a good time to wipe down the entire pool area with bleach, which made my wife sick. So not the best start, but we ended up enjoying the rest of our stay. You can get your included breakfast delivered to the room, free of any additional charge, which is definitely a huge plus. One other note of constructive criticism would be the volume of the music from the bar/pool area which could be too loud in the rooms at times. Also, I know there is probably market research into this for the typical clientele there, but the pretty constant stream of the absolute worst of American music (easy listening covers, smooth jazz) was a bit much for us. Maybe most guests appreciate it? I don't know, just think about it.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff at U Zenmaya - they were all amazing and very helpful, every request was addressed right away. The hotel is so pretty, the pool is just gorgeous such great sunset views.
Its a 1 hr walk from centre of patong beach and shuttle bus was great. we were happy to be away from all that - for us it was the perfect distance of quietness and serenity but close enough to visit. Would definitely stay at U Zenmaya again. Rooms clean, shower and bathroom very clean good quality, room cleaning great - whole hotel very well kept. Hotel restaurant sooooo delicious - was a nice surprise it was actually come of the best food we had on our trip!! which was totally unexpected.

Very nice hotel BUT....

some of the amenities are misleading. It states 'free shuttle' when I initially booked, but when we got there it was 100 THB per person, per day. Really not that bad, but it's still an extra expense. There are no self serve laundry facility within the complex which is a bit inconvenient, but there is laundry services that charges 150-200 THB PER item, which is very expensive ($5 per item). And what really irked us the most was that it said 'babysitting available'. When I asked the front office, the lady said \"we don't do babysitting\" and when I insisted that I got an email with the rates, she looked puzzled and encouraged me to refer the the lady who emailed me. I just said forget it because I didn't want anyone watching my toddler if no one had a clue about the babysitting info.overall, everyone was really nice, the place is very clean and breakfast was fantastic!!! that is one thing we look forward to everyday :)

problem of check in and bad service by reception

This hotel has 24hrs check-in, after I booked the hotel, I've received the email from hotel staff asking about what time I would like to check-in and I informed them that I would check in early.

When I arrived hotel at 10 am, as I expected to check-in immediately but hotel staff informed me that the room I have booked are full and I can't check in and I have to wait until 5 PM,
I have to explain that I already informed after that staff offered me to wait at Standard room but I've book room with sea view and pool access.

So I have to explain again that it's not fair for me that I paid for pool access but I gotta stay in Standard type, if I did not complain I would not get the suit with sea view (don't have pool anyway as I booked) and I have to wait for 2 hrs for preparing room for me.

U Zenmaya is a high-quality, great service, and luxurious hotel with everything you might wish for when relaxing and taking a break from a busy schedule. Amazing rooms and an infinity pool that is just stunning! The hotel has 24-hour check-in, which means you can check in and out whenever you want. We checked in at 6 am, and could have stayed in our room until midnight if we wanted to. All the photos from the hotel are actually like that for real - a rare find! I highly recommend U Zenmaya, and I would go again if I had the chance!

One of the best resort that I’ve ever stayed! I stayed at suite seaview pool access room and it had amzing room and view. I strongly recommend this room someone who like to stay calm place. Also other rooms seems great.

Beautiful views, needs better management

Had a lovely stay early March here. I had the deluxe ocean view room, and the views were incredible from the room and just about anywhere on the property. I will say the hotel needs stronger management. Towels in our room and at the pool, while not dirty had plentiful amounts of stains on them. Food is meh. Overall, there appears to be a small degree of disorganization. Shuttle schedule also needs improvement, you have to get a taxi if you want to go out in Patong for the night or before11am . Nevertheless, if you can look passed these things you will have a great stay!

Great hotel, check-in sucks.

It's a great hotel with lots of great amenities. The breakfast buffet is fantastic and the staff was all great. The location is ideal if you want to get away from crowded touristy areas and have some peace and quiet. However, you pay for the peace and quiet by having to rely on shuttles or other modes of transit to get anywhere. My biggest complaint was the check-in process. I got there at 9am and I had to wait around for 5 hours for them to get the room ready. Besides that, this is a great hotel with a great view! Oh, and the rainfall shower is awesome.

Boutique hotel with amazing view

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at U Zenmaya Phuket. The rooms were clean and modern. The views are beautiful! I definitely recommend getting an ocean view room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our tour was a few minutes late picking us up and someone from the front desk called the company without us asking to make sure they were on the way. The pool was great and had a good amount of lounge chairs. The breakfast was delicious and had a huge selection. It is pretty close to Patong and the hotel has a shuttle there several times a day. We took a taxi to Phuket Town which was about a 40 minute drive. There are a couple restaurants that are a walkable distance from the hotel. The WiFi was slow consistently throughout our stay. If you need to work while there, the WiFi speed may make it difficult. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend this hotel.

Breathtaking views

This place was amazing and the customer service from the staff was outstanding! The view from our balcony was breathtaking! the breakfast buffet was the best I have ever seen at a hotel, including made to order omelettes and lattes. The pool the beautiful with the same breathtaking views from our room. We really appreciated the free shuttle that ran from the hotel to Patong beach area and the fact that our elephant and phi phi island tours both picked us up from this hotel at no extra charge. The only downsides were that the doors seemed paper thin and you could hear everyone that walked by, it was a little disturbing. Also the 24 hour check in is not accurate as we arrived at 6am and our room was not ready until 11am, even though I confirmed ahead of time of our 6 am arrival.

This was my first time stayed in hotel, not good

The refrigerator was not working, they have changed another one but still not cold. That’s very disappointing. That expensive place should not be happened. They filled up all the thing in the 1st and 2nd day, like coffee, water..etc. But they didn’t fill another day any more. The room is very big and the jacuzzi is nice. That’s it. The place is a bit noisy coz road side, totally not near the beach. The patong beach is not big and too many people there. Actually couldn’t relaxing. Very disappointed and won’t go to Phuket again. I like samui more than there.

Nice views but poor experience overall

After reading a lot of reviews and deciding on this hotel, taking the Deluxe Seaview with infinity pool option. For the cost, I was expecting an enjoyable experience with above average surroundings.

We arrived at 2pm only to be told we couldnt get into our room until 530 because of their policy. Really not a good start to the holiday.

we went to the room at 530 and was greeted by a mediocre room at best. The view was all we were really paying for and as beautiful as it was, it was not worth the extra $$$.
Our group all had different issues with the hotel but its unfair for me to judge them on this but if anything that happened to them were to happen to myself, the score would be a lot lower.

Overall, i would not recommend Zenmaya. Potential is huge with the stunning views so if they do redecorate, i would gladly give them another shot.

We spent 3 nights at U Zenmaya and it was a truly relaxing experience. There are a couple of walkable bars and restaurants to the left and right on the hotel road. Patong and Kamala beaches are within a couple miles either by shuttle or taxi. I highly recommend the breakfast and the pool bartender knows his stuff!

Very nice resort in Kamala overlooking the shore

The staff was very helpful and they really went out of their way to make you feel welcome and catered to your needs. The asthetics and design of the resort was also very unique and beautiful for the price point. The in room jacuzzi was one of the best perks!
