Everyone was super nice, it was clean and efficient. The parking was very disappointing. I thought when they said onsite parking it would be a normal parking lot, it was not. I think they should make this clear in their advertising.

A wonderful place to stay

This hotel offers a wonderful service - among the best you can find in a hotel in Jerusalem and at an affordable price. The hotel has the feeling of a family run hotel. If you have any problems the staff are quick to sort them out. The hotel is conveniently located for all the sights. I saw guests from Europe, America and other parts of the world staying. The food menu is top quality - so even if you are not a guest, I highly recommend the restaurant. If you want to experience hospitality, then stay here.

Disappointing hotel

The location of this hotel is great - right near the Damascus Gate but the staff is indifferent and could not understand the billing (it did get straightened out in the end). The rooms we were given for our group were not well maintained. The hall was smelly and the rooms needed a serious update. We noticed that some other floors had been updated. This really felt like a college dorm. The breakfast was really good and we had the buffet one night and it was also good. We would not stay there again.

Hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the Damascus gate. Transportation is available outside the hotel. Food is available at the hotel and there are multiple eating places inside the old city of Jerusalem. I was as comfortable at the hotel and outside as I am in the US.

An amazing location right opposite Damascus Gate, Zedekiah Cave, bus, train station. Walking distance to all the holly land marks in Jerusalem. However most travellers arrive very early and the workers behind desk has no flexibility to accommodate some situations. Management should give them some power to relax checking ins.

4 * hotel. 1* staff

Really disappointed by the staff at this hotel, particularly those in the restaurant. They were rude, cold and callous, often removing hotel guests from their chairs (as they weren't part of a group), despite those individuals having paid for the opportunity to sit. Waiters were also noted using a spoon and scooping out of icecream from the guest bowl.

It's a shame - the hotel has the ability to be really good but it let's itself down.

Very convenient to the Old City.

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. We chose it due to its location with respect to the Old City just outside the Damascus Gate. The hotel was fine, not elegant, but certainly comfortable. It is in the middle of the Arab section of town with typical Arab shops and food stands outside. As a non-Arab, I was completely fine with that but some Americans might feel a little out of place. All the women in the restaurant at breakfast except my wife were wearing Muslim head coverings.

Steps away from all religious sites

Nice hotel in the Eastern part of Jerusalem. Very convenient location. Short walk to shopping. Aqsa Mosque, Jewish Quarters and Christian Quarters. Friendly staff. Sufficient breakfast buffet. Limited car parking area. Free wifi. Not a lot of restaurants in the area. If you're looking for nightlife this is not the place. If you're looking to experience the true historic old Jerusalem city then stay here. 30 minute drive to The Dead Sea. Would stay here again.

Convenient location but over priced

We arrived at 2am due to plane delays and they did not have a room available for us and sent us to another hotel 10 mins away which after looking into was at least £40 cheaper per night. They did not refund this part of the room rate. The breakfast was quite poor, not refreshed very often so meant that there were always cold eggs when we went to the dining room. Room was small and even though it was supposed to be non smoking smelt very strongly of smoke. Location was good, close to Damascus gate and the light rail.

Convenient location. Nothing else

The hotel is an extremely convenient location, a 2 minute walk from Damascus Gate. However, there is not much else to commend the hotel. There is no lift so you must walk up stairs to get to reception.

At check-in there had been a mess up. I initially had one reservation for 5 nights which I had then amended to one reservation for 4 nights and another for 1 night, I would be away for a night in between. This was done about 2 months before I travelled. However the hotel seemed to have the first reservation and charged me accordingly. I had to rectify it the next day with the reservations manager. There was a difference in the rate, which is fine. However the manager then tried to overcharge me by about 3 times the amount I owed. Luckily I had done my calculations so I refused to pay more than I owed.

Breakfast was poor. A large selection but not great. Consider making a smaller variety of good quality products instead.

The room was very poorly cleaned. There was a tiny elastic on the floor on the first day. This remained there for the 4 days, and when we returned for the last night and were put in the same room it was still there. The glass in the room was not washed once during the time we stayed there.

Once again, the location was excellent. Close to everything worthwhile, no need to use public transport unless you are going out of the city.

Good for sight seeing the old city and to sleep

This is a good 31/2 star hotel not 5* as indicated in hotel.com.
Very good location near Damascus gate. Good breakfast with lots of variety. It is a good hotel to sleep and sight seeing the old city after breakfast. There are no luxury but it has good wifi and the rooms, although small, have all the basics. You can also book tours to other sites in Israel.
I stayed for more than a week and my sheets were never changed, but they did change the towels.

Hotel is ok but location is bad

Reviews and pictures on the website were very different from reality. Hotel is ok and staff was very friendly and accommodating but the hotel location in the middle of a very crowded, not so good area and hotel parking that looks like a mechanic shop, I immediately felt very uncomfortable staying there with my 2 daughters. I would not recommend this hotel for a family. Maybe ok for singles who don't care where they stay.
I had to go to a different hotel also because the hotel could not find my reservations that I have made through cheaptickets.com and even after receiving a confirmation e-mail.

Pleased with my stay.

The staff couldn't have been friendlier, the location was really good, and the hotel itself was just fine.

The only downside: The WiFi for the rooms wasn't working, and didn't get fixed until the last day of my stay (in all fairness, I was there over the Christmas holiday which may have held things up). It was inconvenient, but at least the WiFi in the lobby worked fine, so I had a connection. But it would have been nice to have had it in my room.

That being said, the staff couldn't have been better; in fact, the cleaning staff noticed it was a bit cool in my room and on their own brought in an additional heater for me, which was really appreciated.

The desk staff made the arrangement for a taxi to pick me up at 1.45 a.m. to get to the airport in time, and couldn't have been nicer.

The location, close to Damascus Gate, was fabulous. I was close to the Old City, the light rail, and the Arab bus station (to get to Bethlehem). Plus there were lots of restaurants and shops and sellers close by to get food, bottled water, etc. Convenient.

Others have written that it's dated and needs repair; I didn't see much evidence of that. It's a good, solid, basic hotel. Overall, very pleased and would stay there again!

Skip the Buffet Breakfast

The hotel is located in an area that is a little scary in the evenings. The exterior of the hotel is not attractive but inside it was nice and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The parking available for a rental car does not seem very safe. The breakfast buffet didn't have much to offer. Although the hotel is conveniently located to the Old City and the Garden Tomb, next time we would stay in the center of Jerusalem.

Good Location

This hotel is well located to walk to the old city. However, the lobby is on the second floor and one must use the stairs to get to the lobby. Hotel staff did transport our luggage, but the walk up was a surprise. The hotel is located in the Muslim district with a mosque nearby. The call to prayer several times a day was easily heard in our room.
