Location was great, very accessible to the old city. Felt like home away from home. The food in the restaurant was delicious, very fresh and hearty, recommend dinner there. One thing we had a lot of ants in our room, which ciuld be mitigated by covering gaps in doors and windows. Also I understand its an old property but there are things that can be done about the general cleaniless and mould in bathrooms.

Incredible breakfast with the most delicious dates, manaeesh, hummus, Arabic coffee and so many more yummy things. Perfect meal to fight jet lag.
Super clean room, convenient location and family run. Can’t recommend enough. And I really wish my stay was longer.

Our family a wonderful stay at this boutique hotel in Jerusalem. The building itself is full of history and charm, giving a truly authentic experience. Everything was spotless and well-kept, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the owners went above and beyond to make sure every detail of our stay was perfect. Their hospitality made us feel like family. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Jerusalem! We can’t wait until our next visit.

We loved it! The location is super convenient, few mins waking to Damascus Gate, 2 mins walking distance from light tram station. It's a beautiful historical building with really nice antique decoration. My husband loves history, so he felt in love with the building after the owner told us the story about it😄The high ceiling room is very nice. Even though the location is so central but inside the room is very quiet and we slept well. They have their own restaurant which was very good, so we had dinner at hotel almost every night during our 4 nights stay:)
The owner Mr. Raed was so nice and welcoming. I want to especially thank the manager Aya who was super sweet and made us feel so special and welcomed.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Jerusalem.

Staying at the Jerusalem Hotel was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was struck by the warmth and charm that radiates from every corner of the building. The rooms are a beautiful homage to old Jerusalem traditions, with authentic stonework, handcrafted furniture, and elegant textiles that reflect the city’s rich cultural heritage. It felt like stepping back in time while still enjoying all the modern comforts.

The on-site restaurant was equally impressive. The food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and full of local character. What made it even more special was the staff: friendly, attentive, and clearly proud of the history and spirit of the place. Every meal felt like a personal invitation to experience Jerusalem’s hospitality.

A special mention must go to the hotel’s manager, whose professionalism and warmth were evident in every detail of the stay. Their thoughtful leadership shows in how smoothly the hotel runs and in the genuinely welcoming atmosphere created for every guest

I would give Jerusalem Hotel 6 out 5 stars if I could. Raed waited up past 2 am just to make sure I got to the property safely!
The food was absolutely amazing. The decour was fantastic. And the location is right where you want to be, just minutes away from old city Jerusalem by foot!
The staff are very helpful, and answer questions you will likely have about the area. I cannot picture staying in Jerusalem any other way.

Wonderful Hotel Experience! Highly Recommended.

Originally one two the wrong hotel address and was upset because I thought we were left in the cold. Once we were able to confirm our reservation, we were guided to the correct hotel. What an absolutely lovely place to stay. They took great care of us. we had wine and refreshments in the hotel restaurant. The archetecture of this grand place took me back a century or two. Beautiful antique furniture with modern amenities, great customer service and the breakfast buffet was a real treat, full with many items related to the Palestinian culture, to order eggs etc. The family owned business is just walking distance to the Old City, literally one block away, with many markets, and side vendors. The hotel owner was knowledgeable of culture, history, and hospitality. Needless to say, I will stay at this hotel the next time I'm in Jerusalem. Highly recommend this place.

I love historic hotels such as this one. Everything is clean and atmospheric ,I liked my room very much. The attached restaurant serves nightly specialtes of local recipes. On the expensive side though I've found all dining in Israel is relatively expensive compared with Europe and other countries. The location is excellent next to Garden Tomb and easily walkable to Damascus Gate. Helpful owner. Breakfast included. Recommended and would stay again.

Very nice place with a homey feel. Staff are very friendly and willing to help. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends. My only comment would be on the bath towels, they could get newer ones. Room and bathroom were very clean and welcoming. We were able to walk to the old city, even late at night and felt very safe. We found nice local restaurants with Awesome food, even a little convenience store open late where we could buy snacks.

We loved this property. It is walking distance from the old city and the staff were superb. It was very clean and we were very impressed with our stay. They even played Happy Birthday to my wife during breakfast and gave her a necklace. Juliet was so nice and friendly. We highly recommend staying here.

The jerusalem hotel is all about comfort and location. Perfect walking distance into demascus gate and a stones throw from the garden tomb. This was ideal for us to be closer to the gates as it reduced the walking considerably. The hotel is very classily decorated, rustic in theme and comfortable with high quality furnishings. The rooms have all the amenities needed finished off at a high standard. The staff are friendly and assist with questions and support with enthusiasm.

Our stay was over a two night period and returning to this hotel after each days walking was a blessing. The restaurant privided excellent food offering variety and quality.

This is an incredible little boutique hotel, a few minutes walk to the Damascus Gate of the Old City. This is the place to stay. And the charm of it, the old stone walls and floors and antique furnishings. It makes your visit to Jerusalem. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The breakfast buffet had everything you could possibly want to eat and the staff were friendly and very helpful. I loved that I could visit the Old City and when ever I felt I needed a break I could be back at the hotel in about 5 minutes and have lunch, a coffee a glass of wine and relax for a bit and then return to exploring the Old City of Jerusalem.

Excellent location very close to Damascus Gate entry to the Old Jerusalem. Hotel with the climate, not like all modern hotel, old stone walls and old style furniture make you feel very special. Bathroom modern and comfortable. Owners and personnel very friendly and helpful. It is not a hotel with standardized services like chain hotels but anything you need just ask and it will be done. Absolutely fabulous breakfasts - a choice of local tasty foods - recommend to try or you can choose more traditional egg station with fresh made omelets and fried eggs. Excellent coffee choice form expresso, cappuccino to tasty brewed Palestinian coffee. We have been very satisfied and would recommend Yerusalem Hotel to all that want to escape from all these unified, boring chain hotels.

Not recommended for twin beds: tiny beds and one was not level on the floor. Breakfast foods were not kept warm and somewhat sparse at the end of the morning. Excellent hot water and pressure. Satellite TV had two english channels.

Absolutely loved my stay. Please note that the hotel is located in East Jerusalem; I got the sense from locals that they didn't like the area, but my mother and I felt completely safe and felt like we fit in. It is a really short walk to the Damascus gate into old Jerusalem. The restaurant is great - try the lemonade! Wonderfull staff.

The staff was great - super hospitable - the hotel itself was beautiful. The best thing and worst thing is the location. It's a convenient walking distance to just about everything (you can walk to the damascus gate in 5 minutes) but it is right next to a bus depot and a mosque (calls to prayer can be loud) - but Jerusalem is a loud city, so if you want to stay close by it's going to be loud.

In a run down area, but close to Damascus Gate, very convenient. No lifts to get to the rooms, so heavy cases and/or being of a frail disposition or elderly forget it. No one will offer to help you carry them upstairs.
Paper cups for in room coffee & tea.
Shower was hot and worked perfectly. Beds were comfortable but room only allows two single beds.

Room was cosy,clean with a perfect air conditioner . There is no excuse to have ashtray in the room that has no balcony.
The breakfast was awful.Not fresh and was served in a derelict room with food waiting to be eaten in a bad way.

The room was very well. Decor was antique and lends a good and different experience- not the boring mass-produced type of furniture on regular hotels. Love it.

Staff are responsive to every query and helpful arranging transport. They were welcoming at arrival.

The only unpleasant thing: when you arrive prior to official check in time and need to freshen up, the only bathroom they offer is the tiny, not very well equipped toilets used by the restaurant (just outside of the building). Very inconvenient.

It’s a short walk of about 2 blocks to the Damascus Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem.

This is a beautifully renovated Palestinian-owned boutique hotel. The rooms have thick stone walls and are charmingly decorated with traditional furnishings, but each have very modern, updated bathrooms. Thanks to all the staff at the Jerusalem Hotel, but Raed, the owner, made our visit most enjoyable. He allowed us to check in early and also provided us with a welcome drink. He was a friendly, interesting, and a helpful host.

Unique stone home with ornate doors, furniture, etc. Not modern, but gives you a great feel for the culture. Staff is not overly cheery but nice enough. Bathrooms were a little mire run down than they appear in photos but clean. If you’re looking for an inexpensive home base in Jerusalem. This is it. Good restaurant and great location to sites.

Great room, very clean, and pleasant traditionally appointed room. The bathroom is modern, with all the expected amenities. The beds were comfortable and in excellent shape. Some may find the lack of elevators challenging, but staff was extremely accommodating and would have offered any needed assistance. Very good choice restaurant, with friendly staff, and great food choices, as one would expect in the ME, very close to the Damascus Gate, and safety was not a concern. An excellent hotel choice which we will use again.

Good location near Damascus Gate, leading into the old city. Also near tram to West Jerusalem. The building interior was architecturally interesting with nice old mosaics and woodwork. Breakfast buffet was good, but does not open until 7:30 AM. Only negative was that the bed & pillows were harder than I prefer. Overall, a nice stay.

Well,We booked the hotel and did not stay at the hotel because the hotel was located in an unsafe area for Jewish people. We were told by numerous people it wasn't safe. We were mislead and still did not get refunded for the hotel we had to get hotel accommodations last minute to stay somewhere else. So the only experience we had was that the cab driver wouldnt even take us there. Very disappointed in the way Expedia handled this.

Fantastic location

This was a great place for our visit to Jerusalem. On lively Nablus Road, very close to Damascus Gate and the souk, as well as Arab bus station and light rail. Hotel is very atmospheric, breakfast was great, and hotel staff were very helpful in planning our trip to bethlehem. Would definitely recommend it.

Staff was very accomodating upon our early arrival. Hotel has a pleasing old school feel that dovetails nicely given its location near East Jerusalem. There are other hotels for more modern ammenities, but you don’t get the same experience with Jerusalem Hotel.
The restuarant that is connected to the hotel has good food and a relaxing hide-a-way atmosphere. All in all, my family rates this a positive expereince with ages 12-75 and we’d definitely stay there again given the opportunity.

Thoroughly brilliant stay

First time visitor to Jerusalem and this hotel exceeded our expectations. A hotel - which is family run - filled with history and character.

Twin room was spacious and the cleanliness I could not fault. The breakfast was authentic, varied and delicious. Staff - courteous, attentive, extremely helpful regarding enquiries from room services to arranging tours to various locations.

Also, within 5 minute walking distance of Damascus Gate (Old City).

We thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated our time and will gladly like to revisit and stay at the Jerusalem Hotel.

The Jerusalem Hotel is just great! The location is excellent if you are visiting the Old City and the hosts are very gracious. The hotel is an old home and each room is different. It is a boutique hotel with many special rooms, including beautiful comforters on each bed. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very special and filled with antiques. The restaurant is excellent and the staff is extremely helpful. This is NOT like your typical hotel chain..each room is unique. Our bathroom was small for 3 people, but it was fine for us and all of our needs were met. I highly recommend this hotel for those who are looking for a special, unique experience.

Grand and beautiful hotel/some upgrades needed

This hotel is beautiful and ideally located for your time in Jerusalem. However please know that this hotel uses a boiler to heat its water that gets turned off periodically, this no hot water from time to time. There are only 14 rooms available, seven on each floor. Ours was room 107 that had a very comfortable double and beautiful decorations. The bathroom was desperately small and in dire need of deep cleaning. The breakfast served in the basement is delicious local fare with omelets and endless cappuccinos served in the dining room on the main floor. Beware that there are cats, large and small throughout every city we visited, and were found in this hotel as well. I guess they are welcomed because of the lack of rats/mice in the country. Overall, I recommend this grand old hotel, but encourage you to be gracious with the small bathrooms and possible lack of hot water. We really appreciated the free welcome drink.

Great hotel near the Garden Tomb

Historic/ancient hotel that is a short walk to the garden tomb and Damascus gate to the old city. There are a lot of markets near by that are Arab, so you'll find some great food or coffee and some good deals. The food at the hotel is good and the coffee and tea are excellent. They have a nice garden restaurant that is a nice place to relax. The hotel is welcoming and comfortable place for Christians.

Great Arab-themed Boutique Hotel!

Loved the old school Arab-Palestinian theme of this boutique hotel. For people looking to live around the Old City this is an excellent location - 5-7 mins walk to Damascus Gate. Nice outdoor terrace cafe with decent coffee.

Fantastic stay!

This is an exceptional hotel.The hotel is very close to the Old City and Damascus gate.The owner is a wonderful person who makes sure your stay is comfortable.The attached restaurant is also fantastic.The owner and staff really care about the customers staying there.They also know a great deal about Jerusalem which is helpful.You won't be disappointed staying here.

Staff very nice.
We were out all evening in February. 50 degrees Fahrenheit, so we were cold upon return at about 9 pm. Room very cold, no heat. Staff did then turn on the central hot water heating system for us ( helpful, but took over an hour to partly heat the room,)( who knew we had to ask in advance to have heat turned on?)
We were unaware there was a separate heater high on wall ( we thought it was an air coditioner) It was turned off. Staff there told us to use remote control to turn it on. I was not able to, but desk man came to room to do it for us. But took quite a long time before room warmed.
we were also tired so just went to bed, still cold.

Free parking a great conveniece that close to Old city. But when we checked out, parking lot jammed full of cars, about 10 cars blocked our exit. Again, a very friendly parking attendant moved all those cars for us. And it did take him the 20 minutes the he said it would. The \"waiting area\" was the sidewalk by a garbage dumpster, with plenty of smelly garbage on the sidewalk, too. Authentic old building. Very thick rock walls. Bathroom worked well, but small.

Very nice hotel

Close to Damascus gate of the old city. Staff great. Hotel old and not as modern as others. It has a lot of charm, but not a lot of extras. Hot water fluctuated to extremes. Restaurant was great, food excellent!

Great experience and so close!

Location! Great management, so helpful and attentive with great alternative tours on offer! The room we stayed in was extremely comfortable, and we absolutely fell in love with the historical nature and decor of the hotel! Which is a 2 minute walk to the old city (Damascus Gate). Looking forward to our return!
