The location of the hotel was amazing. It was walking distance to everything. The hotel itself was tired. There were stains on the carpet and the fabric of the chairs in the room. They offered zero amenities—not even a shower cap. The shower splashed water everywhere and there was a puddle of water that was slippery as you left the shower area. The staff was unfriendly. There was only one person at the reception area and they were always on their computer. All the other hotels we stayed at had two staff members at the reception area and gave us a map and a list of recommendation restaurants and points of interest to see at check-in. This hotel was a total disappointment—we will not be returning there on our next trip

Perfect location. Buses round the corner to Alhambra and across the street to train and bus stations. €1.60 flat fare. Very frequent. Hotel is ok.

Reception - only one person who was usually on the phone and wasn’t particularly friendly. Most hotels have two receptionists so you don’t need to wait.

Rooms ok. TV only had 3 channels that were accessible. Nice coffee machine but no milk so had to go and ask.

Shower needed an upgrade. You have to hold the button for ages to engage the shower head which was old and a lot of the small plastic plugs had come off so it looked terrible from the water/limescale stains. Then the water only dribbles out. Someone should be checking these things and ordering the repairs.

Poor customer service throughout. Room was ok with lovely view out into the square, sadly the windows had not been clean for a long time so the view was rather spoilt. Mentioned to reception that our TV was not working, nor was the extraction in the bathroom and the shower head would not stay in place so you had to hold it whilst showering. They did change the shower head, but the TV and extraction were never fixed. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was the spa facilities. Sadly when we wanted to use them on the Sunday it was closed which was somewhat annoying as they had advised us a few days prior to our arrival that it was open 7 days a week. We were advised that if we wanted to use the spa the following day we should give them an hours notice so they could \"prepare\" it for us. Having given them 4 hours notice via email on Monday we were somewhat bemused that when we asked if we could use the spa we were told we would need to wait an hour! Sadly when we finally get to use the Spa it was a BIG disappointment. Firstly no one showed us where anything was, just told us it was on -3 floor and sent us on our way. When we arrived there was no one there so we just had to wander around and try to find things. Didn't find a Sauna so assume there isn't one. Found the steam room but sadly it only pumped out steam ever 5 or so minutes so was pretty useless. The pool with hydro jets in was cold! The small pool was warm, but you simply had to stand, no jets, no seats. Very Poor!

Perfect location for this visit

While close to a busy street, this hotel tucked behind a monument to Queen Isabella and Christopher Columbus, was a perfect location for this visit. Buses to the train and bus stations are very close by and the bus to the Alhambra couldn't be closer- out the door of the hotel, turn right and there they are! On the edge of the Albaicin district, it is an easy walk to many sites. As a bonus, the hotel has a nice bistro for a drink and meal and you can get a good breakfast in the restaurant.
Hotel room decor is dated, but charming at the same time.

Generally an average stay. Our biggest complaint is that the listing stated that they had a bar, however when we asked to have drinks outside the waiter rudely replied, “No, this is a restaurant.” We had dinner at the restaurant the night before and it was quite good, but this particular evening we only wanted drinks. This rule would have been understandable if the restaurant had been busy, but it was almost empty.

Worst stay of my travel to Spain Granada

This is one of the worst hotel we stayed in the trip ! Location is good but no room service! They charged us for water next 2 days ! They do not even clean rooms in the evening! They do not clean coffee cups

If you’re going to Alhambra, the local bus (C30 & C32) is steps outside the hotel. Lots of places to eat and shop in easy walking distance. Buses to other nice areas are nearby.
Hotel is a very modern style, if you don’t mind that.

A good hotel to stay in

The hotel was excellent, the room was clean, big and comfortable. The staff were nice, and they sent us chocolate, water and a congratulation letter because of my wife's birthday. The only thing I was surprised with, is the drinking water bottles (at least one bottle for each guest per day) were not free, and that was the first hotel ever in my life they do not provide free drinking water bottles, once a day.

The property is in a great location, close to Alhambra and the Cathedral. There are many dining options around nearly every corner. The only drawback we found with the hotel was the bathroom had a sensor that would turn on the lights even when you walked by it which was annoying especially if someone had to use the facilities in the night. Maybe put the sensor on a low wattage night light instead?

Wall mirror and lighting were a problem. Main mirror has a big metal piece through it soo can’t check outfit or do your makeup comfortably hence why I had to go to the elevator to check. Bathroom lighting is very dim so no use for makeup but ambience is excellent. If bathroom lighting remains dim then mirrors/space for makeup needs improvement

The hotel could not be in a better, more central location... it felt like no matter we ventured around Granada, all roads led straight to the hotel door!

The room itself was very comfortable (with one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in).
Everything was very clean & in working order.
The only negative point I could make is the 'sensor light' in the bathroom that stayed on for way too long at night (& we couldnt seem to be able to turn it off).

Breakfast in the restaurant was lovely & very well priced.

As with any inner city hotel, there was a bit of street noise (particularly on Saturday night), but this is pretty much to be expected with such a central location.

The location of this hotel is so great, it covers up some of the other downsides. Some people would like the concept of the hotel interior but it was a little too dark for me. It was a modern dark theme and smells a little bit of smoking. I did’t know where it came. But again the location is just too good. 12-minute walk to Alhambra palace and 3-minute walk to all the restaurants and downtown area.

Marquis Hotel is an excellent option if you are visiting Granada. It is centrally located and a short bus ride from Albaicin and Alhambra. It is close to many restaurants and bars in the city centre.

Marquis Hotel is charming! The rooms have that edgy aesthetic, and views of the city from the rooms are incredible. The beds and pillows are so comfy! and the A/C works well. You'll have a great sleep. The restaurant and bar in the lobby are pretty handy, and the staff is very friendly. The vegan restaurant was a great option. My mind was blown away by the delicious food, and I'm not vegan. Nice to try alternative options.

The only comment I have for the hotel is that it would have been great if the hotel picked us up from the station if they knew the streets would be closed because of the town festivities. No taxis wanted to take to the hotel, and the bus had reduced service. We had to walk to the hotel dragging big suitcases.

Despite this, we had a pleasant stay at Marquis Hotel. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Granada for Alhambra and also wants to enjoy the nightlife.

Great location and a comfortable bed, but … hotel design is weird. Room lighting was terrible. Huge ugly 6 arm light over the bed was a nightmare. Other lights were motion activated so they would shut off at worst possible times. Floor in shower was slippery and water went everywhere. Only amenities were shampoo and a minuscule sliver of soap. Huge mirror in front of the bed. Finally figured out that tv was behind mirror! A bright blue light from tv shined all night. Room was hot - temp set at 22C. Finally found thermostat as we were packing to leave.

Check in was fine and staff were friendly, although we were told that we couldn’t have coffee in the empty restaurant because we didn’t have a reservation.

I had high hopes that the hotel would deliver a good experience at what was, for Granada, a reasonable price. The decor, though not to everyone’s taste, wasn’t a problem for me personally. There were obvious signs of wear and tear though and both the room and bathroom locks no longer worked which isn’t ideal. There were positives, the bar and restaurant downstairs provides great food and drinks with excellent service, making our evening meal an enjoyable one. Location wise, it’s close proximity to the sights, shops and bars is both to its benefit and its downfall though. The windows in the room are in no way sound proof which was fine midweek but became a problem when Friday night came around. Sleep was near impossible as every passing group leaving the local bars and restaurants, along with scooters, stereos and traffic, can all be heard as though you are out on the street yourself. Perhaps you get what you pay for, but the least you should expect from a hotel is a decent night’s sleep and sadly that’s not what we got.

We thought everything was pretty good except for the beds. We thought they were uncomfortable and neither of us slept well. My bed slanted downward on the edge. The bedding was made so tight that we had to pull out all the edges to not feel like we were being swaddled. Otherwise, we thought the location was perfect and staff was very nice.

Excellent location but some awkward shortfalls

The hotel's location is excellent, just a block from the iconic cathedral and within a few blocks of many other important sites. The decor is modern and tasteful, though rooms are beginning to look somewhat shabby unless they begin to get better maintenance. There are, however, some somewhat disturbing elements to my stay. First, I arrived to find all phones had been removed from rooms allegedly due to Covid, though this was not a public health guideline and was the first hotel, even after staying in several in Spain for my three-week trip, that had done this. This creates a safety vulnerability if, for example, someone in the room needs medical attention or feels threatened by someone trying to gain entry. Another oddity is that, supposedly for accounting reasons, charges at the restaurant cannot be signed to the room. Also, any tour that booked through the front desk must be paid in cash since, again for some supposed accounting reason, they will not accept credit card payments for these charges. Housekeeping services were spotty, at best. Overall, the hotel seems like it was once a luxury property that has perhaps fallen on some hard times and is immersed in a cost-cutting spree that may be priorotizing expenses over customer service and property maintenance. The whole accounting issue seems shady as well. In any event, stay for the excellent location, good rates and beautiful modern decor, but manage your expectations regarding service and maintenance accordingly.

Decoration is trendy in a way that it may be suitable more for young couples. I mean the real young ones.
Nice bathroom design except that it is too dark for morning cleansing consider that it has no windows for sunlight in during the day.
Room seems spacious as sofa and tea table is of extreme minimalism.

We had a great time while staying in Granada, however we were expecting a little more from the hotel since it was rated 4 stars. We were expecting to have our own coffee machine in our room as it is advertised in the hotel photos and we didn’t. We also went to use the “free spa hot tub” which turned out to be a lukewarm pool. The hotel also does not allow you to turn on the air conditioning at this time of the year (February) even though it was 25 degrees Celsius outside. The staff of the hotel was very nice helpful and the location of the hotel was excellent. I’m just not sure I would rate it a 4 star hotel.

The hotel itself is a bit worn, and very limited breakfast options, but the location is great, the Cathedral, several viewpoints and many other attractions are in walking distance, and Alhambra is just a a 5 mins taxi drive.
However very difficult to have parking space. They have a deal with a garage, however no reserved parking spaces, so you will be in a challanging position if it is full...

This was by far the worst hotel experience during our Andalusia trip.
My room was small, there wasn't even a chair in my room! Heating is really bad (general in Spain) and zero heating in the bedroom. Tiles extremely cold!
Housekeeping switches off heating everytime they clen the room...such a cheap mentality.
Restaurant was good but it is 95% seafood so if you are a meat lover this may not be your choise. Also note that their breakfast menu is strictly VEGAN! Wish i had read their services before booking it. All in all i wouldnt choose this hotel again. And definetely not recommend anyone.
