Maria was very nice during check-in and on the 2nd day we saw her of our 4 night stay. The restaurant she recommended was good below the hotel. The room was very hot; took awhile to figure how to lower it on the antiquated heater. Wi-fi was weak and almost non-existent. Bathroom shower was tight. Room needs to be updated. Saw angelfish on the walls and killed a big cockroach on our last night. Oh, and the pipes in the walls made huge noises when the water was turned on or we flushed the toilet in our and adjacent rooms.

Good Hotel - FABULOUS staff!!!

We had a wonderful stay at DG Prestige - one of several businesses that is housed in a typically Italian building, you have to look closely for the small sign next to the door as its not obvious. Our room was small but clean, the air con worked wonderfully & it was perfectly quiet at night PLUS it was a great price for the centre of Rome. The hotel itself is nice but what majesit stand out is the fabulous Maria, who did EVERYTHING - from checking us in 3 hours early and giving us coffee & breakfast after an early flight, shes the one who cleans the rooms too & is always on hand to help... she speaks very little English but her kindness & hospitality shines through!! Location wise, your 5 minutes walk from the top of the Spanish Steps, there are 2 very good restaurants directly below the hotel - its a safe area & we felt very confortable wandering around at night...though it is at the top of a hill so be prepared for the walk back up from the centre. We will most definately stay here again!!

Maria was an asset, very friendly and accommodating nothing too much trouble😍 one small criticism was check in process wasn’t ideal and had to contact a few times to get email with procedures but that is a personal preference on having someone around on arrival and I did book knowing this was the process overall great time😀

Stayed at DG Prestige Room in Rome and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The place is super clean, comfy, and in a great spot to get around the city. But the real highlight was Maria – she treated me like a prince the whole time and made sure everything was perfect. Can’t recommend this place enough if you’re visiting Rome!

Our host Maria was amazing - she helped us with all our questions and was very responsive. The breakfast is great, with a selection of parties, meats and cheeses, coffee and juice, fruits etc. definitely recommend for a great location close to shopping and the Spanish steps.

THIS IS THE MOST UGLIEST PLACE I EVER STAYED IN. The only nice thing was Maria, she was so sweet. The so called “breakfast” is bad!!!! Same bread everyday old and not good. Don’t be fooled when they say it’s walking distance.. it’s about 30 minutes to all main streets. The 3 restaurants everyone mention in other reviews are not GOOD. DO NOT STAY THERE!!!

If it were not for the amazing Luciana we would give this place three stars. She was amazing. All alone and taking care of nine rooms. She was always available and so helpful. Her breakfast was excellent. She was always full of smiles and did everything she could to make our stay comfortable. The room was clean as was the bathroom. If you get in the shower late in the morning then you will be showering in almost cold water. The actual condition of the place was just okay. But as I said Luciana did everything in her power to make a silk purse out of a sows ear. What ever they're paying her she is still not making enough... the location was very good though, with plenty of places to eat, and you can walk to just about anything. and we always felt safe no matter what time of day.

Very small room, safe required special key which we were not provided, firidge did not work, AC was intermittent. Restaurant availability many just outside hotel doors. Location to spanish steps and Trevi very close as well as short walk to park (villa Borghese) which was a welcome escape from the busy Rome streets. Many many keys to get in and out of hotel.

Good location in Rome, walking distance to major spots. The rooms need an update, our sofa bed was very old and not comfortable. Our A/C did not work and the room was really hot. They brought a fan, which definitely helped; but it was not what we expected. Nonetheless, Service was kind and helpful, always trying to make the best of our stay.

We had to change our room 4 times in 8 nights.
Part of the problem was with Expedia. I tried to book a room with 3 beds and Expedia booked me for 1 bed for 2 people. I never got a confirmation within 24 hours of my initial booking. After a few weeks, I contacted the hotel directly and was told they had my reservation but don’t 3 beds.¡
I spend well over an hour on she phone trying to fix my problem with Expedia with mo resolution.
Also, we never got clean towels every day. The air conditioning was terrible the first 3 days. We were unable to change the temperature on the controls.
We needed 4 keys to get in and out of the building every day. even the elevator was ancient.
The neighborhood was very safe and we were close to a number of decent restaurants as well as close to the BioParco, Trevi Fountan and Scalinata Di Spagna.
Breakfast was satisfactory .
The whole facility was managed by one woman. Too much for 1 person to handle. The building was very clean. One of the single beds had huge springs that protruded. The refrigerator also did not make any of our drinks cold. I have had better accommodations in third world countries with larger showers and functioning air conditioners.
I know Europeans don’t like A/C but Rome is very hot in June and it’s time to modernize.
Memo to all of Rome- DON’T serve room temperature water to your customers and tell your cab drivers to turn on the AC in the taxis!

The worst point was the entrance and how they manage the first time entery which was so complicated.
Now worth for the money you pay.
Just the location is great which is 10 min walk to spagna square.

There are many many hotel options in Rome, catering to all manner of budgets and vacation types. However, DG Prestige Rooms is the only one that has Maria, and that alone is reason enough to book here. I cannot stress enough how incredible she is - she doesn't speak English and I barely speak any Italian, but within a few minutes of arriving at the hotel I felt like I had found the Italian aunt that I didn't realize I was missing from my life, and she was a huge part of what made our trip so enjoyable. She's constantly enthusiastic, helpful, considerate and kind, and is an absolute credit to the hotel, the city and Italians generally! She also makes a mean capuccino, will ply you with pastries and will happily sit on hold for a half hour to get you a taxi - my daughter remarked that she would trust Maria with her life, and I totally agree with that.
DG, even without Maria, was great. Location was perfect, easily walkable to anything you want to do in the city, very clean and quiet. There is a fantastic restaurant, Vladimiro's, literally right around the corner, the breakfast is great and the rooms are very comfortable. The amount of keys required to access the property (street door, stair door, main door, room door) is perhaps a little intimidating to begin with, but we figured it out pretty quickly. Price is perfect - not too expensive, and in Rome you'll be out most of the day taking in all that this incredible city has to offer anyway, so save your money

Hotel is in a lovely area of Rome, and there are plenty of restaurants in the area and it's close to metro station too. It is close to lots of landmarks and walkable to others. Communication with Luciana, the owner, was very good and she kept us updated at all times. The building has an old European elevator, which was fascinating. The rooms are a little dark in decor, we had one facing the street, and it was very quiet at night. We found it very comfortable and had everything we needed for our city break. The continental breakfast was basic, but more than adequate and the coffee was delicious. You certainly won't go hungry. Maria who served breakfast was a lovely lady, she was hospitable and always had a chatted with us. We had a good time in Rome and the hotel is extremely good value for money, in a lovely area, we would definitely recommend it to other travellers.

Broken toilet, irate hotelier

We were met promptly to check in, man was very abrupt. Everything is dated. 1st night, sewer smell coming from bathroom. Next morning we discovered sewer had back up into the shower. Went to let staff know and ask for a different room. Man abruptly asked what I did to the toilet & that no other room avaiable. He stormed to our room, highly agitated, demanding to know what I did. My husband & I moved to a bench in the hall. I can't describe the man at the hotel & his behavior towards us. He yelled at me in the hall and called me a liar and I clogged the sewer and said I would be paying for it all. He & I exchanged not nice words, he kept waiving something in my face while screaming. He threw it on the floor, i took a picture of it and it was some type of plastic. Someone fixed the issue, hotel man stormed off. We attempted to find another hotel, with no luck. After being gone for the day, we came back to our room and now the air wouldn't work. While using the toilet my husband noticed the lid missing a piece of plastic, which matched the piece they say was clogging the sewer. I will mention the toilet lid set crooked from the minute we arrived and was not stable. This hotel is hortible, the owner/ worker should not be in this business and was close to having the police called on him for his actions. I am a travel agent and never in my life have I or anyone I know been treated this way by someone in the hospitality business. I can not recommend enough to not stay at this hotel

The people are friendly who host it, but can be loud and smoke by the window in the middle, so the hallway and room air smell smoky when they or other guests do: it filters into the 'nonsmoking' room.

The pipes also grind and moan loudly whenever anyone uses water, the heating system is very loud, and you can hear other guests often in the hallways, or their TVs.

They gave us 6-7 heavy keys to get in so you initially feel safe from the street; but 2-3 keys didn't work (once I couldn't get out of a gate), & the building left open 3 of the doors while they tried to fix it, so only 2 locks actually separate a guest from someone walking in off the street.

We met interesting people there, got lots of exercise walking, it's near the nice park around Borghese Villa, but it would have been nicer if the employees showed more respect to guests. It may just be a cultural or language thing.

If you don't have good hearing or sense of smell and are just there at night, it would be great for the price, with good breakfast, too. Thank you.

Hosts were lovely - friendly, helpful (gave us a map and explained where to go for attractions), and respectful - left us to enjoy our stay.
Breakfast was generous and delicious and we were always greeted with a friendly welcome.
There’s a safe in the room and spare bedding if needed (I always need more pillows!).
It was relatively quiet considering it’s in the centre of Rome! We did hear people outside our window at night but it was just a few people on the street nearby.
There’s a kettle in the room but it’s literally just a kettle provided - no free tea and coffee etc or even mugs but I think you could pay extra for those things.
Location is excellent! Attractions or metro a short walk away and plenty or places to eat nearby if you didn’t want to travel elsewhere.
I would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at DG Prestige!!
Lovely room, very clean, lovely breakfast, friendly staff.

Loved the area aswell.
It's only 5 minute walk to Villa Borghesse, 10 min walk to Spanish steps (if not less!), and very accessible to all other atracctions.
It's a lovely area to walk round , very residential.

We've arranged a private transfer to get picked up from Ciampino airport via DG Prestige and a lovely driver was waiting for us on arrival. We traveled in style in a beautiful Mercedes and we felt our holiday started in style!!.
We also had a taxi arranged to take us to Termini on our departure day to Venice and taxi driver already waiting for us ... all went really smooth.
We loved Rome very much.
Our personal experience was excellent in terms of accommodation, transfers, meals (apart from one night which we got really bad costumer service from a waitress at hotel's next doors restaurant).

Thank you DG Prestige ... We enjoyed our stay at your place and overall our Rome holiday was fantastic !!

Comfortable Stay in Rome

DG Prestige was a great stay in Rome. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet with a basic, but good breakfast each day. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is located close to the Borghese gardens, about 20-30 min walk from all main sites in Rome (Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, etc.). Additionally, the walk from the main train station is easy at 20-25mins if you need to make connections to other cities or the train to the airport

The apartment was immaculate, the breakfast was great but above all the hospitality of the property managers was genuine and heartfelt. Valeria was always willing to help with a broad smile and an attitude that is a model for others in the hospitality industry to emulate. We forgot some US dollars in the safe (not a large amount) and she reached out immediately to see what she could do to get us back the money. She gets a double thumbs up from our family! Glad we chose DG Prestige Rooms

We were so pleased with our room which was impeccably clean, spacious and well equipped with everything we could have needed for our stay. The proprietors and staff made us feel welcome but were unobtrusive and we enjoyed the freedom of having our own keys to the building. The breakfast buffet was pleasant and varied - the homemade cakes delicious! We enjoyed the location which is easily accessible to the rest of Rome - many major sites are within walking distance and lots of bus routes stop a short walk away at Veneto/Barberini. We would not hesitate to return and recommend DG Prestige Rooms to our friends and family.

My family and I really like this hotel. At the beginning, we could not find the entrance, If I have only watched the video they recommended to watch, my fault. My recommendation watch the video! Other than that, our stay was great. Guiseppe and Valeria are great host and helped us in anyway they could. Thanks again for helping us. Our room was lovely, clean and the decor very classy and simple which we loved. The hotel is very close to Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the metro and train station. Breakfast was yummy and healthy: fresh fruits, fresh bread, cake, ham, cheese and freshly made cappuccino. I highly recommend this hotel.

For location, room and board you can't beat it.

Room was comfortable, quiet, and well located. It was within walking distance of the Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, and other sights in that area of Rome. The Breakfast was the best I have had included with a room. It included some homemade baked goods, eggs, yogurt, ham & cheese plate, etc. Good Restaurants on the same block and the owners were more than helpful with suggestions, directions, etc.

I do not think the rooms are isolated enough.

In Feb. of 2017 my friends & I made our reservations for 3 nights in June. We were told there had been a technological error & that I would have to spend 2 nights at a comparable property because of this error, & one of my friends had to spend 1 night at the other property. The reservation at the other property was made by DG Prestige, & my room at the other property was substandard compared with my room at DG Prestige. We couldn't understand why the customers following us were not sent to the other property instead of us. I would not be willing to return to DG Prestige.

Not very fire safe.

To be honest having spent 30 years in the fire service I was slightly worried. I can't fault the cleanliness or the staff or the breakfast.
I was shocked at the lack of fire safety. There is no fire alarm, no fire action notice, the route of escape does not have the protection of fire doors, there was only one way out and you needed keys. I checked out the latest fire regulations because of my fears but it seems Italy doesn't want to play like the rest of Europe to upgrade their buildings to be safe. The fact is though, if a fire occurred during my stay I may not have made it out through lack of warning. Walkabale to everything

Nice hotel on the third floor of a residential building, a bit like having keys to your own flat in Rome. We barely saw the staff as we came and went as we pleased, and there is no-one on site after 9pm. But when we needed them they were there and our room was tidied every day no matter how late we got up (sometimes very!). When we did see them the staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. Location is excellent, within walking distance to pretty much everything - we walked to the Vatican from here and the Colosseum and the central area.

Old Roman hotel with charm

We enjoyed our stay here. It had a few problems such as loud a/c, lack of comfortable seating, etc., but we are glad to we stayed here. The staff was outstanding and the continental breakfast was excellent.

Great hotel in a quiet neighborhood

Our stay at DG Prestige Room in Rome could not have gone better! Right from the beginning, we were treated with top-notch service. We arrived about 40 minutes prior to check-in, and the hotel staff still let us check right into our room without waiting. The room was clean and had recently been updated. Bed was very comfortable. The hotel staff was very helpful recommending places to eat, even giving us a short hand-out that detailed restaurants and points of interest around the city. Location was wonderful, as it was a 10 minute walk from the very touristy areas, meaning that it was quiet, yet not too far away from everything that Rome has to offer. Also close to the Metro line. There is a park a 5 minute walk away from the hotel as well.

After our second night, we were offered a free room upgrade by the hotel staff to a room that was probably twice the size of our original room. A nice gesture! Overall, would highly recommend DG Prestige room.

Cute hotel for just the right price

This hotel is located on the third floor of a locked building but we got in immediately. Johanna, the adorable receptionist will help you with anything you need. The room has character with nice crown molding and is typical euro size. Restaurants just outside the hotel are excellent which is a plus Eve though you'll wander to the more touristy areas. Finally, the piano bars in the area are adult topless bars- with NO piano. FYI

The room was nice and clean, the location was prime, the breakfast was fantastic, the staff were very friendly. All in all this place is a gem.

Close to Villa Borghese. About 25 min walk from Roma Termini and within Centro Storico. Rooms are small but well equipped with safe, well stocked mini bar with reasonably priced goods and a clean bathroom. Hotel is located on 3rd floor of a historical building. Walking distance to everything. Furthest you would walk is to Trestavere which is around 30 mins away.

Lovely hotel with helpful staff.

Great Stay. Was in Rome for a conference. Conference hotel was too expensive. This hotel was reasonably priced, very comfortable, old worldly and the staff were very helpful, even letting us leave our cases in the hotel after checkout for some last minute sight seeing. Rooms very clean and cleaned daily. Highly recommend it.

€40 charge for a blocked drain with OLIVE PITS!

The hotel is on the 3rd floor and it requires 3 different keys to get in so arriving separately with only 1 set of keys it's a nightmare especially after 9PM since they have no one to mind the reception. On the really bad side, the bathroom had a very bad smell and we let the Reception know. On our last day my husband took a shower and the basin overflowed and the toilet bowl filled with dirty water. I had to go to another room to take my shower. Tried to brush my teeth in our bathroom but the toilet water raised up. We checked out but left our luggage at the Reception since we had an afternoon flight. When we returned for our luggage the man at the reception informed us that they will charge my Credit Card €40!!!! because they found OLIVE PITS in the drain which resulted in the pipe blockage!!!! Honestly, we had not eaten ANY olives in the room and even if we had, we swallow the olive pits ( a long time ago a doctor told me that the olive pits- especially the black ones-are the best thing in preventing stomach ulcers and I swear by them since I've never had problems with my stomach ever since ). In any case, how many olive pits we would've had to have eaten to block the drain to the shower and the toilet??? So they charged my credit card for something we absolutely did not do, especially since the bathroom had a bad smell from the moment we first entered the room. Worst of all, they totally ruined what was otherwise a great trip!!! Shame on you!!!!

Great little hotel!

Although the room was compact, everything required was there. We didn't have breakfast included, so the in room coffee facilities were a lovely addition, as was the in-suite fridge. The room was modern, spotless, and in very good repair. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Overall location was good - close to lots of restaurants. It would have been super to have just one English language TV channel, but even without that, we very happily, highly recommend this hotel!

DG prestige room review - September 2015

We spent 4 nights at DG prestige. The staff were very polite and attentive. I emailed them two days before my scheduled arrival to inform them that I would be going late at night and I received a reply within the same day. I was given clear instructions on how we could access the room and where I would be able to find my keys, etc.
The next day we went to have breakfast and a member of the staff made our coffees for us which I think was very kind.
This was happening all the days. Also we were given a map and directions on how we could reach the main attractions. Overall, very clean room, pleasant environment and very pleasant people.

Everything is pristine and well maintained; the staff is cheerful and very helpful; the location is near bus lines and metro; and a substantial breakfast is served each morning ( included in the cost of the room and saved us so much in meal costs. I'd definitely stay again and highly recommend it as a great place to stay!

A great hotel! At first, the hotel was very difficult to find. But once you get a grasp of the neighbourhood, it becomes quite easy. It is located a little up-hill - hard for people that have knee troubles (like us). The room was quite large, and very clean. Once we got there, the front desk reception was great in providing a map, details about the amenities, and about the local transportation. The location wasn't the best - took us 15 mins to get to the city centre - this wasn't as convenient as we wished for it to be. But still manageable.

Rome Holiday with stay at DG Prestige Room

This hotel was within walking distance to a multitude of Rome's attractions such as many churches, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain (out of commission for the next 6 months), Pantheon, Gallaria Borghese plus so much more.

Although my room was quite small, it was none the less very comfortable.

The breakfast each morning was fantastic. The staff was beyond helpful, knowledgable and their ability to speak fluent English was a major plus.

I specifically want to thank Marina and Lisa for their exceptional service and the help they provided in buying tickets for Rome Attractions.

Very central hotel/ great location

A previous traveller had mentioned that the hotel was situated up a hill from the Metro( 10 mins walk) and is situated next to a snack bar( you can see the sign from the end of the road). We did find it easy to find with these instructions.. Once there... The old fashioned lift takes you up to the third floor.
Our room was just what we needed. It was quiet despite being in a busy area.
There are great restaurants close by. The restaurants that are off the main road are cheaper than the ones on the main road. Watch out you get given bread for the table and are charged for it. They also charge you for water.
There is a fountain close by where you can top up your water bottle . These fountains are situated everywhere and saves you constantly having to buy water.

It was lovely. The front desk staff were very kind and indulgent with my numerous and atypical questions (less sightseeing oriented, more foodie geared).

The room was cosy and comfortable. Cool floors felt wonderful after a day of walking all over Rome. Overall, I thought it was great value for the price.
