Such a good hotel!! Great location, and SO clean! I am on to always check the bedsheets, the shower, the toilet, everything before touching anything and everything was spotless. Makes staying at a hotel so easy. What really made the stay here though was the staff!! They waited for us after midnight because our flight came in late and then we had to take the train, in the morning Guseppo was so cool! So friendly and helpful. The nephew was really nice and helpful too. Ran by a family and it definitely shows! they made visiting Rome for the first time amazing!

Family run hotel, very friendly members. Area is safe and close enough to walk to Spanish steps and trevi. Few good restaurants minutes from the hotel too and a small coffee spot right next door. We had the largest room a 2 bedroom suite which is a great option for a family with kids. The room was very clean, beds were comfortable and daily housekeeping was done while we were out. The room had a fridge and safe and a tv in each room which was handy. We were able to call taxis easily if we needed to head somewhere further, which was good since it was difficult getting cabs other places on the weekend. Termini train station was about a 10 min ride too. Recommend.

Ok so you don’t keep your room key with you. You have to leave it at front desk when you leave and they have to buzz you in when you return. Also, there are supposed to be people there late at night, they are away and probably sleeping so you don’t want to bother them if you want to go outside. I tried this at 2 am and the older lady in the kitchen seemed to be scared of me and closed the door. All and all, I was stuck there. But, clean place and checking in was a breeze.

There was good restaurants nearby. Many sites were 15 minutes walking. The Vatican City was a beautiful 1 hour walk early in the morning. The room was very comfortable and spacious and staff were very helpful.

Excellent stay, great price, with a sweet family running the place. The hotel does have a general curfew of 12am so after that there no one sitting at the reception desk but to get back in you just call one of the phone numbers given to you and the door is opened within seconds. The area is calm, clean, and very secure with multiple embassy’s and police stationed nearby. I would definitely come back whenever I visit Rome!

The Hotel golden is an older family owned hotel. It doesn’t offer many frills but if what you want is an affordable quiet place to sleep, it’s a good place. It was a little farther from the historic sites but if you don’t mind the hills, it’s walkable. There is a coffee shop close by for breakfast. We did use uber quite a bit because of the amount of walking. The bedding was adequate and the room was pretty quiet. The shower had great pressure and the bathroom was pretty big. All in all, a good stay for the money.

The best part was probably the staff though - it is a family-owned business and we got to meet several of the family members. They were all so kind, helpful, and flexible both before and during our trip. Its location is excellent—just a short walk from many of the city’s main attractions, making it easy to explore Rome on foot. This hotel has great service and the rooms are clean nice staff however they have a no guest policy and you have to ring a door bell to enter the building and after midnight you have to call them on WhatsApp to be let into the building which is kinda of annoying hopefully they fix this in the near future and the rooms are paper thin so you can hear your neighbours…beside that close to restaurants

Just returned from two weeks staying at this property and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Rome. Giuseppe and his family made us feel like part of the family. A quaint 15 room family run hotel in a great part of town just a 10 minute walk from all the hustle and bustle of downtown Rome. More than a dozen restaurants within a 5 minute walk away, a coffee shop just outside the front door, a minute mart and a small grocery store just down the street.
The hotel itself is on the quiet second floor of a building. The rooms were well furnished and required everything needed as a home base while touring Rome and other parts of the country for two weeks. Giuseppe and family always there with a smile and assisting with any question you may have.
Our flight to come back to the U.S. was cancelled the evening before we were scheduled to return. As I frantically made arrangements to re-schedule our flight, and airport transportation, Giuseppe was amazing with extending our stay the additional night without even making us change rooms. His response with a smile was \"No worries, I will take care of you\". We knew we made the right choice by staying at Hotel Golden but that confirmed that there was no other place in Rome I would rather be than staying with Giuseppe and his family business.

The hotel itself is on the quiet second floor of a building. The rooms were well furnished and required everything needed as a home base while touring Rome and other parts of the country for two weeks. Giuseppe and family always there with a smile and assisting with any question you may have.
Our flight to come back to the U.S. was cancelled the evening before we were scheduled to return. As I frantically made arrangements to re-schedule our flight, and airport transportation, Giuseppe was amazing with extending our stay the additional night without even making us change rooms. His response with a smile was \"No worries, I will take care of you\". We knew we made the right choice by staying at Hotel Golden but that confirmed that there was no other place in Rome I would rather be than staying with Giuseppe and his family business.

Stayed here for a few nights upon our arrival to Rome before taking the train to Florence. Hotel has the most amazing helpful staff unfortunately our luggage somehow didn’t make it to Rome with us. The hotel owner was so kind as to contact baggage claim for us and tried his best to help us find our luggage, we are checking out and headed to Florence without luggage but was so impressed with how amazing the staff at Hotel Golden are. I would stay here again simply for this fact… hotel was quiet, AC was amazing, cute clean room with all that was needed for a quick stay. Located within walking distance to Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, and a few plazas. Great coffee shop located below hotel on bottom floor.

The hotel in general is clean as well as the room. Enough towels and the bedding was comfortable. The TV had a lot of options of channels. The Hotel is an old building, so it has its charm, room is small and not too much sun light but again, clean. There IS NOT COFFEE anywhere in the hotel common areas nor in the room. The hair dryer is very old, it's ok to dry your hair BUT if you are looking to get a style you better bring your own. This hotel is family own, what I like, a lady received us, and she was nice. The other members were not very friendly, very serious and they didn't talk too much. Not even a smile. I guess because they live in the same building, they don't have a specific dress attire as regular hotel employees.
The hotel is about 15min walk away from the major tourist attractions and activities in general, and if you are planning to walk to those places there is a lot of hills up and down, so be ready for a workout.

This is a small family run hotel. Nothing like a “big box” American hotel. The lobby and hotel are on the 2nd floor with access via stairs or a classic gate elevator. (Very cool). This is like a combo between a boutique hotel and B&B, minus the breakfast. What really sets it apart is the staff. It is owned and run by a family and while we were there we felt like their American cousins who had come for a visit. You can find fancier hotels, but unlikely to find in where you matter as much.

The host even called a taxi for our super early checkout for our return flight. Hotel was very quiet and a short walk to Spanish stairs. This is an old building in down town Rome. Built in 1820’s. The hotel is family owned and was comfortable. Owner was very accommodating and offered some great local tips and advise. Saved us a bunch of euro’s. This is not the usual large hotels we were used to staying in. Great place to stay overnight while we waited for our cruise.

My wife and I recently stayed 3 nights at Hotel Golden. What a lovely experience! This is a family-run hotel and it shows in everything they do. The front desk staff were polite and helpful and spoke excellent English. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The hotel is in a lovely neighbourhood with many great coffee shops and restaurants within a few blocks. We felt safe and secure at all times of the day and night. The building is incredibly charming with an old-world feel that we really loved. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and can recommend it without question.
