Very nice and cozy hotel walking distance to some of Rome’s key attractions, such as Trevi Fountain. Attentive staff and varied breakfast. The rooms are clean and modern. This hotel is one of the highlights of my most recent trip to Rome!

Property was Great. Cots were a little uncomfortable for the kids but doable. Refrigerator was very small and limited, very hard to add own stuff inside.
Only 2 small complimentary water for a family of 4, was directed to a vending machine for more. thought that was a little cheap.

This hotel rooms are completely different than what I saw on Expedia pics when we stayed. Rooms are in terrible condition. Wall colors were off at certain patches of the wall. Towel holders fall off. The hotel staff was rude.
Do not recommend to book this hotel.
STAY AWAY!!!

This was a wonderful hotel—we arrived from a cruise very early in the morning. Not only did they get us into our rooms way before standard check in, but invited us to enjoy a snack or cappuccino from the breakfast area. They helped us arrange a transport to the airport and were just generally helpful and kind. Rooms were clean, new and spacious. Breakfast was very nice also!

Hotel Ludovisi looks nice online but was a letdown. The walls are extremely thin — I could hear conversations and even phones vibrating in neighboring rooms. Definitely not ideal if you want a peaceful stay. They also made a big deal out of giving complimentary water, acting like it was a huge favor. Between the constant noise and the feeling of being nickel-and-dimed, I wouldn't stay here again.

Only pro Is the location and a handful of staff.

The hotel is in a very nice, quiet, safe location. It is within walking distance to most major attractions (If you don’t mind waking a bit; great way to see the city). The staff is friendly. Breakfast offers many yummy choices. The building is very well maintained, clean, and beds are comfortable. The room I was in could use some minor upkeeps, like wallpaper loose in some spots, phone hanging crooked on the wall, etc., but no real major issues. Overall it is a great place!

Hotels.com isn’t what it used to be.

We got to Rome a day earlier than expected—so we stayed here. I was already in Italy when I booked on line—some glitch in hotels.com didn’t allow me to change number of people-(we were 2; it was stuck on 1). When we got to the hotel and the desk clerk recognized, we were two he had had it on an extra €50.. Come on!

I was awakened 3 times between 1230-130 AM by loud (and apparently intoxicated) people in the courtyard. The staff's response was \"Rome is noisy.\" I had an email from the front office manager asking if they could \"do anything\" to make it up to me. But two emails back to them have gone unanswered for over 2 weeks.

The good:
This hotel is conveniently located, and that is its one redeeming quality.

The bad:
The photos of the room are very misleading. There is absolutely no space to walk around the bed or to even open your suitcase. Everything is crammed together.
The window looks into an internal courtyard which means no sun and you cannot really leave the curtains open as people would be looking at your bed.
Breakfast is not great, the OJ is made out of powder.
There was no heat available and it was a cold April, with outside temperature betw 5-13 Degrees C. This left us huddling around the hairdryer for warmth, and it is bolted to the wall in the bathroom.
Finally, we had an ant colony living in the bathroom. The ants and us shared the heat.

Conclusion:
Do not recommend. Overpriced and not what you’d expect from a “palace”.

I'm surprised that this is considered a 4 star property. The staff was semi-friendly (depending on who you were speaking with), but did not offer to help with bags (even though we were clearly struggling) when we checked into or out of the hotel. Also, we found dust bunnies all around the room, so it clearly had not been well cleaned in some time, and generally felt old and outdated. The location is good in that it's close to a lot of things, but it feels like it's on a back alley behind a massive embassy. We were only there for one night, so it was fine, but I would not recommend it for a long stay in Rome - especially given the price.

Perfect spot in Roma

The hotel is in a great neighborhood and close to many important places to visit. The breakfast was terrific and the room though small was very manageable. I would definitely stay there again. The only issue was at checkout they tried to charge me for drinks in the bar that I never had. That was awkward due to the language barrier.

The only bad thing about the hotel is the noise from outside, goes all night long very loud but there is nothing the hotel can do about it. The breakfast is amazing with Nico and karmen very attentive to any of your needs and is a very good breakfast too. That's my hotel in Rome for sure.

Much better then this piece of crap! They didn't refund the money cuz we couldn't stay they. So we paid double hotel in Rome!

Found the internet was non existent in our room, which meant we had to go down stairs to update and send emails.
The only other problem we came across was when we went down to the bar. Served my husband a warm beer and asked if he wanted ice in it. 😮

On first glance this is a good hotel. It is located very conveniently to all main places of interest and within easy walking distance of the main shops and restaurants. When we arrived we were directed to our room which hadn't been cleaned so we had to wait until the room was ready. The staff didn't even make any effort to relocate us to another room. This was disappointing. We were on the first floor located right above the main entrance. If you go to this hotel ask for a room higher up. People were smoking outside the main entrance and as a result we couldn't open our window. However, what was worse was that the room was uncomfortably hot and even when we asked the hotel to turn off the heating it was still over-bearing (and we couldn't open the window without the smell of smoking). The room itself was small, but clean and ok for a couple of nights stay. The breakfast buffet was absolutely not worth it. The food was poorly cooked and the coffee was awful (something not expected for Italy!). Would suggest going to the café across the road or just down the road towards the Metro. Would suggest thinking twice about booking this hotel.

The location was convenient to many sightseeing spots and the metro (subway) station. The staff was friendly and helpfu. My only drawback was housekeeping. We stayed five nights, the first two day of housekeeping no complaints, but as time went by, you can see the difference in the cleaning. Beds weren’t made as they usually are compared to other hotel stays and complimentary coffee and tea weren’t restocked the rest of the time we were there. I’d give it 3.5 stars out of 5 for housekeeping.

Hotel in a good location with lots of restaurants close by. Metro a few mins walk would advise to use it, regular trains and so cheap. Would strongly advise to stay at this hotel.

Great hotel near Barberini

This is a lovely hotel close to Barberini although it is a bit of a climb. The hop-on/hop-off buses stop nearby so it's a good place to pick up a bus (avoid City Sightseeing Roma - very poor reviews- we chose the GrayLine pink route, very good) Hotel staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. Tea and coffee (sadly not decaff) were provided and when we asked for milk, we were given a fresh jug. Rooms have a kettle, a safe (foc) hairdryer, aircon, modern tv. Breakfast was very good - scrambled egg and bacon, toast, buns, cereals, yoghourt, fruit, fruit juice, tea & coffee (sadly not decaff) - all perfectly adequate to fill up for a day's marching around this wonderful city.

Good place to stay for short break or longer

Stayed for 3 nights with my brother who has learning difficulties.
As I requested are rooms were next to each other .
I had a hospitality tray in my room on arrival ( no milk though ) but my brother didn’t. When I asked that was quickly sorted although the trays were not topped up during our stay & I ended up buying our own supplies . Mini bar in the rooms useful for storing milk.
Rooms are on the small side & might be a bit crowded for two people .
TV only seemed to have CNN as an English service wot no bbc ??
Rooms & bathrooms were spotless , good shower & plenty of towels.
Buffet breakfast was good with plenty of choice .
Staff were lovely & very helpful .
Would definitely go back .

Nice hotel in great location

The hotel was very nice and in a great location. We were able to walk to several of Romes sites in around 10-15 minutes. The hotel was also a short distance from the metro station which is very helpful when it comes to visiting places such as the colosseum or Vatican. There are also some really lovely restaurants just round the corner to the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was nice just slightly small and the view from the room itself was just the back of other buildings, not a major problem as we were only in the hotel for sleeping and showering.

Beautiful hotel, easily walk to Spanish steps, zoo, parks. Very safe neighborhood, many tourists outside late. Tour buses and traffic a bit loud early on side of Via ludivisi, but rooms on opposite side may not have the early morning noise. Very much worth it for the low price, and convenient/safe location.

The hotel has mixed reviews when we purchased it but it is a good hotel to stay at. We stayed for 4 nights and had no problems, the beds are not as hard as described by other reviews and are comfortable to sleep on. The hotel is in a good location, we usually walked to the town Center which took 20-30 mins, even walked to the colloseum (30 min walk) otherwise it is close to buses and train stations.
The only problem with the hotel would be the cleanliness. The rooms were not cleaned properly and if you walked bare foot on the wooden floors your feet would be black at the end of it as it wasn’t cleaned. Also I ended up with spots on my legs, not sure if this was due to unclean bedsheets or if there was something in the bed which bit me during the night. If the cleanliness of the rooms improved then this would definitely be a great hotel to stay at.

Don't Expect to Get Any Sleep

Room was large for Europe, however I was not able to sleep for either of the nights that I stayed there. Other guests were blasting music and screaming until 4am both nights. I called down to the front desk and they told me to try talking to the guests first and that they couldn't do anything about it. I walked down to the front desk at 2:30am and had the front desk clerk listen to the noise that you could hear from every floor, he still said there was nothing he could do unless I could find out what room number it was coming from even though he agreed that he could hear it as well. There is also an additional city tax that they don't tell you about that you will be charged upon checkout. There were hairs on my towels that did not belong to me. There is also no conditioner and the shampoo doubled as body wash so bring your own toiletries.

Don't waste your time, rooms are not as advertised

I checked out after less than 12 hours into a 3 night reservation (arrived at 12:30a and checked out at 11a).
It was advertised that the room was a soundproof one, this was not the case. I travel quite extensively so I know that sounds travels in hotels and that is to be expected, however my experience included hearing the couple in the room next to me talking when I arrived in my room close to 1a, their alarm going off around 5a, opening their door and thinking someone was trying to open mine around 6a.
My room was without a desk which is critical to being able to work while I was there (and listed that it was included in my reservation). When I shared with the front desk that my reservation was for a room with a desk - he said they knew that but put me in this smaller one instead (although I paid for a larger room with a desk) at not reduction in cost. Advertised AC/climate control but it is turned off in November per \"Italian Law\" yet moved to a wonderful hotel where I could keep my room at the cool temp I like when I sleep. Stated wine, robes, slippers, coffee maker - none of these were available. Stated shower/tub combo but was only shower. I emailed management and haven't gotten a response after a week.

This hotel is an excellent option for your stay in Rome if you are looking for a good location, great conform, and reasonable price. The room and bathroom were spacious, modern, and clean. The staff was knowledgeable, professional, and spoke several languages including English, German, and Spanish. I definitely recomnd this hotel.

Modern, with some issues

Very modern, new decor, and clean. TINY standard room with no luggage rack or space to lay a 29\" suitcase flat, and a very small clothes rack above the safe. Extremely nice bathroom incl. bidet, hair dryer, and dual-outlet shower. Mattress VERY firm, excessively so for me (160-lb male). Hotel was quiet except for hallway noise such as other doors shutting. Breakfast buffet was very good. Safe lost battery power, and staff did not respond to request to fix it. Staff did not answer phone to front desk after three attempts. Staff asked upon check in if they could charge my credit card for the full stay immediately. I told the gentleman clearly and repeatedly NO, that I would pay upon check-out, as I usually do. Then I found out during check-out that they had gone ahead and charged my full stay at check-in anyway, except for the room tax!

The hotel was absolutely helpful, clean and worth the money spent. They were apparently going through renovations but I didn't even notice for my five nights day. Right near the Spanish steps. And the walk is not far from a lot of attractions. The ffurthest was the Colosseum and that was only about 25 minutes at a very slow paced walk. The only thing I would change is the dates I would go because it was extremely hot during August

great hotel in prim location. About 400 yards away from the Spanish steps and all the shops, Bars and restaurants. Down hill when you go out up hill when you come back.the staff are lovely and very helpful. The hotel as had a revamp from when we stayed 8 years ago. The location made it the perfect weekend brake.

Asked for a room with 2 double beds and receive a room with 1 double and 2 roll away beds for my adult children
Had to leave windows open to cool down the room and the noise and smoke from the street was terrible
Hotel staff was clueless on how to even get a waste basket for the room

Within walking distance to several attractions

The staff was very helpful in helping us find our way around.. The breakfast buffet was very good !

Lovely stay

The hotel is very nice with very helpful staff. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance to various restaurants, shops and sights. Hotel is close to a hop on hop off bus stop as well. Only con: WiFi connectivity.

Convenient, clean hotel in a great area.

Only complaint is that the bed was a little hard for our taste. We are used to pillow top type beds which most big US chains have now.

Mixed feeling about this hotel.

This hotel has a nice breakfast with ample options. The rooms were pretty spacious. No real \"view\". Rooms were clean, but no bed skirts on the beds exposed a dirty box spring. I think it was overpriced. There is a very deep bathtub which may be difficult for people with mobility problems to step in and out.

Great place to stay in Rome

Very good location, room was a good size and excellent included breakfast made the hotel very good value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the delightful multi-lingual young lady on front desk. Great place to base yourself for Roman adventures.
