The rooms were old and tired, in need of renovation, however they were spotlessly clean. Our balcony overlooked the courtyard area tjough, and there were apartments directly facing us, which made it awkward to sit out if those opposite were in use. Staff on site were all extremely helpful and friendly. The pool and bar areas were well-maintained and clean.

Hotel staff are the gem here. All great and helpful. Pools are ice cold. Like proper ice cold. Lots of cigarette stubs around, rooms spacious and modern enough. But towel and bedding changes aren’t frequent enough. I upgraded to a sea view room which was brilliant.

Bit dated, but fair price

On arrival found reception staff welcoming. Rented a safe for €3 per night, as I had read on social media the hotel had had some break-ins recently.

Room was large, beds were comfortable and the shower powerful.

Furniture was dated, and the paintwork and bathroom grouting is damaged making the apartment look dirty, even though i think the cleaners service the room often and all the outside spaces were very well kept.

Its a huge complex of apartments and focuses on families i think. We saw kid's clubs and playgrounds. Although it was out of season, so not many children actually there.

Its in a good location on the seafront and close to town for bars and restaurants.

We were self catering and found everything we needed to make basic meals in the room. Can't comment on the food as we didn't try any.

It says on some sites it has a heated pool. It definitely isnt!

We would probably stay again as it was reasonably priced. But as there wasn't any aircon, wouldn't stay during the warmer months.

Back to our happy place!

Another great holiday at The Elba San jorge & Antigua hotel. Had the perfect suite over looking the sea. Beautiful view of the promenade. Reception staff so helpful & friendly. Check in was easy & given a voucher for a complimentary drink whilst waiting for our room. This hotel is in the perfect location for the beach & walking to local night life. But the hotel also has entertainment nightly if you prefer to stay at the hotel. The pool area was vast with lots of sunbeds, never a problem finding a sun bed any time of the day. Pool table, table tennis, small amusement arcade & daily afternoon activities around the pool arranged. Looking forward to booking again next year but definitely for longer than one week. So thankyou to everyone at this hotel for making our holiday so enjoyable. See you all again next year.

We enjoyed a lovely holiday at Elba Castillo. The large Family room was perfect for our family of 5. Huge balcony overlooking the sea. Resultant and bar facilities were good, the staff very friendly, a special mention to Patricia at the evening bar, who was always friendly. Animation team were great and kept both the kids & adults entertained- big shout out to Roberto & Giorgio.

A Bed Bug Haven. I went to the property with my family. I was given a room which had pubic and head hair left of the previous guest in the bath tub.The microwave was smelling and had cups of tea left from previous guests. I complained to the Reception around 9 pm but received no response, Then I went to the reception and showed the pictures of the dirty apartment only to be told that I will not be able to move to a new room because other rooms are also unclean and also my room cannot be cleaned until the next day. We had the most tortutous night with a 3 year and 9 yera old child. In the morning, I was told that I cannot change my room and the room will be cleaned. I then sent an email to the Hotels Supremo whose name is Sergio Sampedro. I was finally given anothe room which again had ants in the kitchen area. I asked to meet the Supremo Sergio who maid me wait 30 minutes. I finally saw him and asked him to talk to me. He refused to acknowledge what I had to say and said that nothing will be done and refused to even look at the pictures or send someone to the room. They even refused to refund my money. I was forced to go back and clean the new room on my own. At night whilst sleeping,my children and I got up with red marks. there were bed bugs and yes actual visible bed bugs. With a 3 year old child, I called the reception only for no one to pick. We then slept on the floor. Please avoid this hotel

All round great hotel.

We have stayed at the hotel numerous times over the past few years, so would normally know what to expect.
Prior to arrival we had read that some hotels were lacking a little after covid as they were trying to cut costs. We were expecting the same, in fact the opposite would be more truthful, the hotel was at full capacity, but it didn’t feel busy, the staff are still as unbelievable as ever, nothing is too much. The rooms do look a little dated in places, but in the background a programme of upgrades are going on, so that will soon be rectified. The animation team are always fantastic, their energy is catching.

We have stayed in a few places in this area and found this to be the best value for money so far. This was during the pandemic so not sure how prices compare to normal. Also there was obviously a focus on cleanliness so I cannot really say if this is normal. We were self catering so didn't use restaurant. Staff seemed friendly enough. Room was a good size. I would certainly stay again if it was within my budget.

Our stay at Elba Castillo San Jorge & Antigua Suite Hotel, we arrived and had booked a deluxe room with sea view, we had contacted the hotel well before our visit and sent “ Hi we are celebrating our **** wedding anniversary with you, could we please ask for a high room with nice sea view, non-smoking, two separate beds or queen size, thank you so much, we had a reply acknowledging this. When we arrived late on a Saturday evening we were given room 1245 we went to the room which was a fair bit away from reception and found it to be a twin bedded room with a balcony facing another balcony about 5M apart, they had left a bottle of cava though. We returned to the main reception and after a lot of dialog ended up with a deluxe sea view on what was essentially the ground floor room 1133, (found out over the next couple of days that rooms at each side had smokers on so we could not enjoy our balcony one bit), we did go back to reception and complained yet again, they said they were full, but we did not believe them you could tell by walking around the hotel, that it was not full. We were by now very tired and fed up, this is the 1st time this has happened to us, as we always contact the hotel well in advance and a couple of days before we leave the UK. We complained to reception staff again the next morning and the next morning, until eventually on 3 days later we were given room 1311. Reception said they would have room available on the Monday, then this changed to Tuesday at 13:0

Lovely hotel in a great location and staff are all amazing and friendly – really couldn’t do enough for you. I have stayed here for many years and the majority of the staff are now friends and welcome you back each time with hugs and kisses, I have no issues recommending this hotel to anyone thinking about booking it. I would advise a sea room in the Antigua building if you can get it.

Lovely hotel and friendly staff - We stayed only one night here as our self catering villa we'd been staying in all week was awful and the final straw was the boiler breaking down and having no hot water, we were a bit dubious booking a 3 star hotel as normally stsy in 4 star but we've stayed in other Elba hotels in Fuerteventura and enjoyed them so gave it a go, very glad we did, the deluxe double seaview room was in the best condition and had lovely views. I'm extremely fussy but enjoyed the food, main pool was busy but it was Christmas werk so alot of kids in hotel enjoying the pool, there is another unheated pool which was alot quieter. No parking available at hotel but we found on steet parking each time we returned after a trip out in the car. We would definitely return to this hotel, we love Fuerteventura and visit often so this hotel is a definite choice to return to.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking at going to fuertuventura. The staff were excellent from the waiters and waitresses to the animation and activities team. The staff were attentive and got to know your preferences and likes so over the 10 days they knew what you would like and provided this for you without asking. The animation staff (activities) were vibrant and tried to involve everyone, regardless of age. The entertainment in the evening was ok but you could tell the staff and put as much effort in as they could.

I have been to all inclusive hotels before and you can normally tell they do not put much effort into the food. This is not the case at this hotel. The food quality was excellent and they offered wide variety of food all at a high quality. For the value of the price combined with the excellent food service I would highly recommend this hotel.

The room was good. The bed was perfect and was a Super king which was a great size to have in a warm country, The room was kept clean throughout our stay but the coffee and tea were not replaced at all during our stay. The fact it was all inclusive meant this wasn't a huge issue but it would have been nice.

The one downside was that there was no air con in the room. For us this didn't make too much of a difference as it was January and with the balcony door open it cooled the room. This might be a slight issue in summer.

Overall we had an excellent stay.

Lovely hotel but no air-con :(

Have given the room comfort only 2 points. This is nothing to do with decor or cleanliness as the room itself was beautiful and the bathroom was lovely, really big with a walk-in shower. The food was very good, the bar and outside area was really pleasant but the only thing which let it down was not having aircon in the bedrooms. We stayed only one night in October and the room was unbelievably hot. We adults found it difficult to sleep but our baby granddaughter was awake most of the night and hence so were her parents! Even having the windows open didn't make much difference. Otherwise a lovely hotel and excellent value for money.

Nice hotel, good location, but noisy at night

Good food, plenty of options although only one restaurant and we are used to having a few to choose from. Pool was nice enough and the beach is about 5 mins walk away. There are other hotels that have more facilities in the area, if we went again we would go to the barcello, it has some lovely bars in the harbour.
At night the hotel seemed quite loud, the entertainment was bad but there is a pub next door selling beer for £1 so easily escaped and there is no air con.

2 bed Apartment very spacious clean and quiet on 3rd floor in the San Jorge. Only disappointment was we were a family of 6 but only 4 could sit and eat on the balcony 4 chairs one small table. We asked for another table and two chairs but over our sixteen day stay the best that could be done was an extra 2 chairs. We were not all inclusive so table and chairs were important. Two balcony lights took two attempts to get one working

Friendly, lovely welcoming hotel

Helpful reception staff directed us to our room on arrival, the room had a sea view which was fantastic. The room was clean 2 bedrooms which was great as we have 2 teenage boys. Food was excellent, cutlery plates and tables always available. We were there during the 2 busy weeks of \"shut down\" so the hotel was very busy. The only problem we had was getting sun beds as we are too chilled to get up early to claim a bed! We love going out on excursions, walks and had a boat trip from the harbour, so the lack of beds wasn't a problem to us.

All the staff are very hard working pleasant and have great customer service skills. I would recommend this hotel.

A great holiday

This is the 2nd time in 3 months that we,ve stayed here. last time was at the end of April and we had alot of room noise. This time we stayed in the San Jorge and had a wonderful seaview.The new management team led by Tonya are making a real effort and its paying off although the workers on the ground are still the old favourites .They really do go that extra mile to make everything run smoothly for you.The cleaning around the hotel has been increased and the patio areas are cleaned virtually every day . The food was as always great and there is a great choice of beer,wine and cocktails.
I`m back out in October for a few days.Probably my 20th visit to Caleta and my 15th to this hotel.

Had a great time here for a long weekend.Stayed many times before. Food and drink is excellent. Staff are fantastic and always remember you and make a fuss over you.The new chap at Anamation is great. So enthusiastic.Just as good as Oswald but in a different way. We checked into a room with a seaview...the views from the balconies were stunning. The room was large and the beds were very comfortable.Lovely shower ..the best ive experienced on holiday. Stormy few days !

Flew in through the worst rain in my near 20 plus visits to Fuerte. We had an easy check in as there was just 6 of us in 3 rooms.The rooms weren`t the ones we had ordered but were all seaview.two blokes sleeping in one double bed just wasn`t on but the desk staff didnt see it that way. After a couple of hours of saying they were full and couldnt change ,they did allocate them a 2 bed apartment, also seaview.My particular room was clean .We only stayed 4 days but the cleaners didn`t come in once or change towels but everything was fine.
Food and drink was once again excellent and the smoothies at breakfast made a nice change.There was lovely meat and fish cooked fresh at lunch and dinner.
All in all a good stay and I`m back in April.

Value for money accommodation in great location

We have stayed at the Suite Hotel Castillo San Jorge & Antigua on a self catering basis on three occasions now, and it would be hard to beat this place for value for money and good location within a few minutes walk of central Caleta. The recent improvements and room refurbishments are very impressive and we won't hesitate in booking again in the future. I can't comment on the all inclusive elements (food, entertainment etc) unfortunately as we always enjoy eating out at the local restaurants but other guests we spoke to certainly seemed pleased. For the money paid and for a 3* place you really can't fault it.

As usual we had a lovely time at the San Jorge. We had a fidelity card so were upgraded to a seaview room .The staff are great and make you really welcome.They all remember you from previous holidays and genuinely are pleased to see you again.The reception staff were good and we had a quick check in.Food was again excellent.They know process fresh smoothies for breakfast which I liked. This was my 3rd break here this year and I`m back again at the end of November. Nowhere better.

Location was great, just 15 mins by taxi from airport. It was also just a few minutes walk to the central areas for shopping, restaurants and bars. We were not staying as 'inclusive' guests so our contact with staff was mainly confined to reception staff (who were always pleasant and helpful). Certain areas of the hotel could do with a upgrade e.g. new bath (which could have been a little cleaner). The sunbeds consisted of 2 types and the better ones were always gone in a few minutes with the usual story of towel ownership. There was entertainment every evening which I believe was good for families... kids seemed to love it. There was no air-conditioning which I believe would be bad during the high seasons. Overall, our experience of the hotel was good and would return again.

Children's entertainment was fabulous...Oswald and the girls are a true asset to the hotel and our children loved Pepe the Caterpillar!!!!

Enjoyed our stay. Location was great as we just wanted to relax and not be in the middle of the resort. Rooms clean and tidy, we had a lovely wraparound terrace but think that is because we had the 2 bedroom 'suite', which was located on the top floor.
Bit disappointed with the lack of facilities, and the nightly entertainment left a lot to be desired, but hey, if you want more entertainment head into town. Onsite restaurant was on a rip though, so glad we opted to eat out every night prior to arrival, as would be expensive to use the supermarket for the basics of a self catering stay.

We stayed on a self catering basis although all inclusive is available. Plenty of restaurants within a short walk and to suit all budgets. All areas of hotel/apartments are cleaned regularly. Friendly staff. Great seafront position. We stayed in June 2014 so sun beds weren't an issue maybe cannot say the same in high season.

Great Value and enjoyed all on offer.

Having read some of the earlier reviews (after I'd booked), I was a bit apprehensive.
How wrong was I, the hotel looked as if it has had a makeover. There was clearly on going maintenance and noticeable improvements were being made daily. Our room was fresh, clean and the beds were new and very comfortable.

Suprise weekend in Fuerte

My experience isn't great. I cannot fault the arrival staff but the location of my room, the fact that the reception in my part of the suites was not manned, my room was above a pub facing the road, no nice view.

When I arrived and walked into my room I was very disappointed, it felt dark and very run down. The sofa was a disgrace and it smelled of stale cigarettes. I did not feel safe and I decided to pack my bag and not stay in the hotel at all. I did not cancel my room as I had to try to organise to stay somewhere else and didnt want to be without any accommodation.

Therefore I cannot really comment on the facilities or the resort as I did not stay overnight. I checked the room everyday but I felt too vulnerable to stay overnight alone.

The rooms are in serious need of a makeover and more thought when lone travellers book a room.

The reception staff on check out (a day early) did not ask why I was checking out earlier, which is a shame.

Good Hotel For the cost

The hotel was O.K for what we paid.Only a few things to put us off. The Pool was very very cold.The shower head was to small so had to stand to close the wall the water was hot then cold then hot then cold.The black out blinds did not cover all the window letting in sun in early morning. The room was of good standard and had all would need. I would say on your first day go to a big supermarket as the shops around have higher price 20%. A Holiday of 2 halves

Just returned from a 2 week stay, we were given a room in the San Jorge Building room 1105 self catering, it was a large apartment on the corner with a rap around balcony with a partial sea view and that was the best of it, the room was dirty, not even a bath mat in the bathroom, it was under equipped for self catering and very cold. the sun only hit part of the balcony to the front and nothing to the side. Managed to get a room change after 5 days. The 2nd room was in the Antigua building 2205, the apartment was smaller with a street view but it was clean, warmer it was like you were in a completely different hotel. It seems the buildings have completely different standards with the San Jorge being very low. Dont think I will be going back

Very nice food, except breakfast which was a bit boring. Staff are not always pleasent but ok. Too loud animation each night until midnight, you have to get use to it.

Generally the hotel met all our requiements for a 10 day stay. Would only use for bed and breakfast but plenty of eating and drinkink options avaiable within easy reach. Room catering facilities adequate for a couple. Not keen on the influance of all inclusive which tends to downgrade both the hotel and the surrounding area but you have little option in Fuerteventura.

Great location close to good restaurants - Nestors/Fado Rock/15/Slow Boat - had lovely meals there. Staff very helpful and courteous and pool always clean and welll run. Good security presence at night so no rowdy noises.
Would recommend it for everyone as all round well run comfortable hotel.

BREATHTAKING VIEWS

My friend and I went here September 2011 ( Just out of season) I will attempt to be realistic and honest.
This hotel offers the best views anyone could wish for, which is the main selling point of the hotel. There are 3 buildings to the complex. The main building is Antigua (which is where the reception area is for the 3 annexes, the others being San Jorge and Suites) The layout of the hotel is unusual but pleasing, with little, Italian like ' squares,' each with it's own individual centre feature. However, it's apparent, that ' cut backs' are in place and it's fair to say, that if you want pure luxury, then this hotel isn't for you!
The location of the hotel is only about a 10 minute walk from the centre.
We had a very relaxed and enjoyable holiday, made more perfect by, the more than helpful, reception and restaurant staff and the fact that we had the most idylic seaview!
Would we go back??..... If we could be guaranteed a seaview.. Yes, without any hesitation!

We really enjoyed our stay in Castillo and this because of the great value and the location (very close to the beach). The problem in our case was that we were above the british pub and there was a lot of noise.
I recommend this hotel.

We were disappointed with this hotel. Our apt was badly in need of refurbishment and a good cleaning. Our apt was directly above the pub which isn't ideal. I would not go back to this hotel even though it is in a beautiful setting right by the sea and close to shops and restaurants.

Second time to Caleta, first time at this hotel. Considering it was a late booking we were quite happy with the hotel. Setting is lovely on the cliffs & the walk to the beach is beautiful. Room could do with some fresh paint but overall the staff were friendly, grounds very well kept & it was quite & relaxing.

I walked int the reception area of this hotel to discover it was no longer been used. A notice informed me that I had to go into the hotel next door to check in. I was allocated to room 1111. The apartment was filthy. There was alot of mould growing in the groves of the bathroom tiles. The paint work was very old and dirty. I took a photo of the bathroom and was reallocated to another room. It was a little cleaner only. I spent 3 nights in this hotel. I did not shower or use the bath as it was not clean. Lots of rust around the plug hole. Very disapointed overall. I would strongly suggest paying a little extra for clean comfortable accomodation. NEVER AGAIN. I will stick with the BARCELO in future. The resort is amazing. The San Jorge is in a perfiect locaton, close to everything you need. I went self catering so didnt eat in the hotel at all. restaurants nearby are fabulous for quality, proportion and price. The apartment was a good size and very clean. sea views are amazing. The pools are clean and easily accessible. I was there last week in September so no waiting for sun beds, plenty of them althouogh a few could be doing with beinf replaced. I would be happy to recommend these apartments, for 3 star they lived up to expectation

no frill quiet sun holiday

these apartments were basic 3 star but absolutley grand for a week away, nice pool area loads of sun loungers. handy enough for shops restaurants bars etc, no more then 10 minute walk. very quiet surroundings at the end of the resort, mostly familys and older people then we were there. if you're looking for a quiet break no frills this will suit you

Good location, close to airport but ideal to hire a rental car. Bus does leave on a regular basis throughout the day from outside the hotel and services most parts of the island. Good customer service, staff speak English.

Hôtel vétuste, chambre pas très propre, carrelage au sol hébréché et grince la nuit.
Le tuyau de douche fuit, et le lit n'est pas confortable.
La réception est dans l'hôtel Antigua, mais aucune indication quand on rentre dans l'hôtel San Jorge.
Petit déjeuner très bien.

Leider hatten Sie meine Reservierung nicht im System aber sie konnten mir trotzdem ein Zimmer geben. Reserviert und bezahlt habe ich mit Meerblick, jedoch war das Zimmer seitlich, also konnte ich nur ein Teil der Küste sehen.

Los apartamentos eras muy cómodos pero le faltaba ventilación, ya que con tanto jardín si abrías las ventanas habían muchos mosquitos. En cuanto a la limpieza eran un horror, tuve que fregar toda la loza con lejía porque tenía restos de comida, la terraza no la pusimos utilizar de lo sucia que estaba. La animación se merece un diez. Tenían juegos muy chulos y eran un encanto con los niños. Fuimos sin pensión y no nos dejaban pagar en efectivo, me exigían abrir una cuenta en recepción para un simple café.

Actualizar LOS VAUCHER,para facilitar el CHEK-IN

La mala experiencia que tuvimos fue a la hora de presentar mi reserva de hoteles.com en el hotel de destino,CASTILLO SAN JORGE
Primero me comentaron que con esta página no trabajaban y parecía un fraude, ya que en otra ocasión parecida, le había ocurrido esto.
Primero que en su central de reservas NO aparecía mi reserva,
Luego, después de muchas llamadas de tlf e investigaciones internas, alegaban que en el vaucher que les enseñaba no aparecía la agencia que les hacían el pago.
Después de más de 2 horas llamando a los superiores de la chica de recepción y a hoteles.com apareció mi reserva y decían que no coincidía el pago realizado con lo que aparecía en su reserva.
Después de más de 3 horas de llamadas, llegaron a la conclusión de dejarnos alojar y que lo consultarian al día siguiente con la central de reservas de ambas partes( hotel Castillo san Jorge como la de Hoteles.com)
Finalmente, al día siguiente me dijeron que estaba todo bien, pero la experiencia del checking no fue muy agradable.
Aunque debo también mencionar que la recepcionista hizo todo lo posible para solucionarlo y se mostró muy atenta.
Conclusión, deberían dejar en el vaucher MUY CLARO, TODA LA INFORMACIÓN QUE ELLOS NECESITAN, para que ningún otro cliente pase esta experiencia.
Por lo demás, el trato , servicio e instalaciones del hotel, TODO PERFECTO.

Hotel and room were quite clean, but there was no air conditioning. Especially one lady on the reception and some kitchen staff were not always friendly and acted arrogant. Wi-Fi was only available close to the reception. But the bar with the nice barman was worth to go!
