Grand property, breakfast included was a total delight!!! The variety and quality were outstanding. Convienient location if you have a car. A little harder if you don’t as shopping was a short walk. We stayed in a traditional futon room and found the futon mattresses on the floor a little uncomfortable. Overall a great place to stay. Very busy.

Rooms are spaced, we requested linens to be changed every 3 rd day but they changed only once for 8 days, Some days they haven’t changed garbage bags, they don’t supply coffee to the rooms.Onsen was clean but sometimes overcrowded .Food was tasty but menu was always the same. My wife had foods poisoning from the mushrooms and couldn’t come for the breakfast the staff member was screaming and yelling when I asked her just for a slice of toast to take in our room. Only one staff on the reception was able to communicate on English language, and she brought a slice of bread, they didn’t have a scale to check the weight of the luggage…Overall not impressive experience….

Hotel is far away from the city centre but there is a complimentary shuttle bus to the station.Only one staff member was professional and kind to help at any time her name is Tomom Nagasava. Breakfast and dinner were the same but tasty . The onsen on the 3rd floor was clean.

The seemingly overworked staff at reception were extremely slow. The Mecure is quite a way out of Nagano, it wouldn't be a choice of ours to stay there again because of the amount of buse tours that have priority at the restaurant over those staying at the resort.

First: the description of location was totally incorrect! It is no where near the train or town! It's a 30-40 minute shuttle ride each way!
Second: Once they've lied about their location and you get there you find out that there's basically no where to get food except at the hotel. Where they will charge a whopping $50 for the dinner buffet (even if you just want a salad) and $35 for the breakfast buffet.
3. The Onsen was loud, the waterfall wasn't soothing at all.
I would have NEVER booked this hotel if I had known it was this far out and nothing to do around it AND it was going to cost an arm and a leg to eat. Very Very disappointed, don't waste your time or money. Ended up leaving and booking a room for the last night in town at the Dormy Inn: fabulous place!

Definitely must go for the half board option! Dinner menu is the same in all our 4 nights stay..

Careful of the lady on 3/F guarding the Onsen, she is a little angry Grandma style.. but very necessary to ensure safety and order.

A disappointing experience. Some positives. The rooms are spacious but tired. Some of the staff are hospitable but others treat you like a child on a school camp. The hotel is tired- stained furniture and vet hard beds. Breakfast was nice once you got through the school camp like military set up - I appreciate they have a lot of guests but this is unnecessary. I did not eat dinner as Theo nul choice is an extremely expensive buffet. The supermarket across the road has good bento boxes. Top marks for the lovely shuttle drivers - it’s a 30 minute run into the city and the shuttle is great and such nice staff there.

チェックインの列への案内の際に男性の方が対応してくださりましたが、口臭がとても気になりました。接客するにあたりエチケットは重要かと思います。

喫煙ルームに外国人の方が10数名（同じグループ）いたのはいいんですが、ラウンジから酒類を持ち込んで相当長い間談笑していました。少し度が過ぎると思います。何かルール化していただきたいと思います。

The area is picturesque with nice views of the mountains. There are two supermarkets and a petrol station close by. The interchange for the highway is 2 minutes away. There are a number of restaurants fairly close. The yakiniku restaurant gets booked up pretty quick so be sure to make a reservation. The former Sanada residence and military school are worth taking a look at too. They are just a couple of minutes away.

The hotel itself is fresh and clean, with free sparkling wine, beer and snacks in the evening, then free spirits as a nightcap from 9pm. The onsen baths are a good size with access to a smaller outside rotenburo.
The Japanese style room we stayed in was spacious with a separate seating are next to the window with a mountain view.

The breakfast buffet was extravaganza! I never seen that much extent of options and they were top notch! It is a big hotel so they had to limit time so we got busy exploring different items. We did not have dinner there but I wonder what it would have been like. We went out to a local mom and pop bar. The immediate area did not seem to have many options for eating out though.

The hot spring bath was nice. We enjoyed going between inside and olhalf-outside baths. We didn't do this but saw used the sauna and cold bath.

The view from the room was wonderful, looking at snow-capped mountain ridges.

The only con is that we were a family of 5 and had to get separated into two rooms. It would have been nice to stay together in one room with five futons. Maybe they were out of bigger rooms when we booked?

The location was good for a car access. It is away from the city center of Nagano so if you travel by train, a taxi ride would be needed. But we were pleasantly surprised by what this Matsushiro area had to offer. After checking out we drove a few minutes to the Matsushiro historic residential area, parked, strolled the old Shinto shrine and Buddhist temples. Then we toured into the enormous cave that Imperial Japan dug near the end of WWII to move the headquarter from Tokyo. They never actually moved, but they preserved the cave as a historic site.

But they gave us wrong room although I booked bigger room online and the room’s floor had huge stains. And when I stayed there, men’s hot spring was broken and we had scheduled for sharing one hot spring space and it was so crowded and I couldn’t relax at all. That was my unlucky experience.

Generally good except for the drinking water replenishment. While I understand that this is a premium spring water offering, the guest should not be deprived of their rightful allocation. My daughter tried to secure the replenishment for the 3rd night on the parent's behalf but was refused and instead, was given one. Maybe it will be better off to place these allocations in the room rather than having to claim over the counter.

Shuttle was convenient, need to update the schedule. Upon arrival, I didn’t have the recent timetable when I asked for it prior to arrival. tatami room was spacious (2 of us, but made for 4). Half boarding was good, but the crowds became a bit trying. Skipped some for this reason. If the shop could extend to include more convenience store items, that would be very nice.

A long way from Nagano Station. A long way from anything. Did not receive a reply from the hotel when making enquiry with regard to a courtesy bus/car. Lobby was huge; hotel was huge; room was spacious; bed was lumpy; 'capsule' bathroom smelt from poor drainage.
Staff were efficient and polite. The courtesy bus on the hour may have been improved with half hourly rather than hourly schedule and start earlier as distances needed to be factored in to excursions.

We were a bit worried before arriving, due to some very mixed reviews. However, our stay was good. We used the shuttle bus without any problems, there was always space. There is a lot of choice in the breakfast and evening buffets. Our booking through Expedia also allowed access to \"the lounge\" where you could get drinks and nibbles at set times, late afternoon and evening. The only annoying thing was a booking system for breakfast and dinner. Dinner slots went live at 3pm and breakfast at 9pm so you had to remember to log in and book. Some slots were obviously given to large coach parties, as some were blocked out even at 3pm on the dot. However, I appreciate they are trying to control the flow of the buffet restaurant so they have to do something. All in all we had a good stay.

Smells bad, no renovation to the old yellowing rooms since the 90s, beds are hard as a rock, we cancelled our second night because it was so uncomfortable being there, they didn’t refund us. Staff were lovely, no fault to them but the owners seriously need to renovate this hotel, they made the lobby beautiful but as soon as you head up to your floor for your room you’ll be very disappointed. The photos on Expedia are deceiving, the bathroom is so old and gross in reality and they don’t show this at all.

Amazing hotel and spa in Nagano area. About 30mins by bus from Nagano Station to Kandabashi station. Then 2min walk to the hotel. Hotel has an onsen which is great! Lobby has drinks and snacks at different times of the day. Includes unlimited soft drinks, alcohol, tea, coffee, water and snacks. Coin laundry with dryer is available if you need to wash clothes. Great view of the mountains from our room.

シャトルバスも親切で快適でしたし、チェックインの際のフロントデスクの方もとても感じが良い方で、テキパキと仕事をしていました。
お部屋もとても綺麗で、過ごしやすかったです。ただ、空調が上手く設定できなくて、とても暑くて窓を開けて過ごしました。
大浴場もお掃除の方がまめに掃除をしてくださっていて、とても綺麗でした。
朝食も種類の多さや、スタッフの方々がテキパキとお世話をしてくださり、とても満足でした。

This property is super dated. I don't think it has been renovated since the 90s. The room smelled of mothballs and dining was difficult to book as they had a chart that needed to be adhered too. Laundry was crazy, 3 washers and dryers for hundreds of people. I was in my room and a whole heap of people just walked in as they were given my room too. Check in was difficult. The staff tried hard but they need some guidance from. Upper management. Some flowers or indoor plants would help warm up the lobby too. It was more like a private hospital.

I have been to Japan many times over a period of 10 years. I have stayed in so many hotels I can not count anymore. Straight facts. Hotel is very reasonably priced. It is in a great location. Short taxi ride to many restaurants and many attractions within walking distance. The restaurant is great. One day I did not fell like going out to dinner. I spend 8000 Yen per person on the dinner buffet...At first I was reluctant...but they had Alcohol and beer included. All you can eat and Drink. It was amazing. My booking included breakfast and lounge. Lounge Was amazing. Turns out there was a lot of people to check in that day. No problem. All you can drink beer and Sparkling Wine...plus many other choices. they do have evening mixer as well, 2100-2300. That one has hard alcohol and beer...plus regular beverages and snacks...The onsen is good but it could be better. I love the outdoor onsen. They do have one. But it is not so open. Onsen is a great bonus so I am not complaining. Reasonable Price and comfort make it great for couples. IDK about other travelers. But If you like Onsen and Drinks...This is a place for you. 16000 yen might be a bit much for 2 people for dinner. But Gyu Kaku ran me 15800. But you have to add 2100 yen taxi to get there and 3000 to get back. Considering that. Buffet with Unlimited DRINKS!!! Is a good Choice. Would definitely stay again 10/10 would recommend. Like I said. Pragmatically it is the best Hotell I ever stayed in.

If you are relying on public transport it was a ways away from the train station and you have to walk from the bus stop in the dark with no proper lights. If your using it as a base to go skiing it's excellent not if you expect night life

Well, our plans changed at the last minute and this hotel was the only one in Nagoya with two rooms left. It is massively outdated. I had read other reviews stating that the sparse hallway decor was bothersome, but I did not expect it to get to me. It did. I found this hotel to be soul killing and left before my time was up. Its also way outside the main city so it is isolating.

I feel that people should know that every thing in this property is outdated and depressing.
Looks like the rooms have not been updated since the 80 s . The furniture, the drapes, the cart are so old , the bathrooms are very outdated and small even the lighting in the room is bad.

It is not convenient as 30 minutes from They train and the city .

The food at the restaurant is plenty full and the quality average.

I gave it 2 stars as we had a very nice concierge
Also you should know that at the end you will be charged extra for a spa tax no matter if you used it or not.

There are plenty of nice hotels for that price in Japan , very disappointed by this one

Do take note that hotel charges ¥900 per room for bathing tax, apparently for usage of public bath (onsen), even though we did not use it at all during our 3 nights stay. Hotel staff explained that this bathing tax will be charged regardless of usage. This is not logic, in my point of view.
Mecure management (being a big hotel chain) should look into a managing system to only charge this tax for rooms that used the public bath.

Our hotel was a half hour bus ride from Nagano station but the hotel runs a courtesy bus so was glad we inquired at information center at Nagano station.
The hotel is dated and could do with updating but the room was spacious and the mattress ( we chose a traditional mattress on the floor) was v
comfortable. The onsen was a good experience too.
We had a 2 night stay and told at check in that THE MEALS were provided .At the same time given
a sheet with the meal times. It was not till half-way during our meal on our second night that a waiter came to ask us to sign for the meals at $80 cad/head. An extra 480$ for the 2nights. What was v upsetting was if we were told at our 1st night, we certainly would not have dined there the 2nd and the person n who checked us in would not come to at least speak to me to try to clarify the situation.He avoided eye contact too. This marred the experience and made me feel that I was forced into a corner. If he said your breakfast is included or someone had i formed us while lining up for the evening meal that this was extra, then I feel that would have been av different experience- at least we could choose

Needs lots of updates. Excellent staff.

Excellent staff can’t make up for elderly property. Far from station and you will need to order taxis to and from as the buses and hotel shuttle don’t run often.

Non-smoking in name but still lingering smoke smell as nothing has been updated since the rooms were smoking. There was mildew on the shower curtains and central AC so you are unable to adjust the temperature in the room. It was very warm on the top floors.

Very clean an modern hotel with a great Onsen which was delight after a days driving and sightseeing. Location was very peaceful and room comfortable. Bit out of the way but public transport is available close by. Train service not sure as we had our own car with free parking nearby.

Room was big with nice view. Parking was easy and free of charge. However, the sofa was dirty, old and smelled bad. Toilet was also not clean. For some reason, bidet stopped working.

Its a nice place.. clean and the onsen was good.. but weirdly they didnt sell any beer / sake anywhere on the property.. only non alcholic beer in tbe shop.. bar was only open till 6pm?? Its a bit far from anythings else..
