The room was great. Water pressure fantastic. Air conditioner worked fine, so did the ceiling fan. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I would have liked to stay longer and spend Christmas there. But had to move around. The wifi was great and fast. I did not loose anytime with work. I loved it there and We hope to go back. And enjoy that fantastic pool some more.

At some point, this must have been a nice small hotel but it isn't anymore. The staff was nice enough but not helpful about the local area and indifferent to small requests. The restaurant is closed. The pool is shabby and the water feature is broken. The walls are thin so any noise, particularly the children next door and the maintenance team's table saw, was quite intrusive. The window in the room could not be locked, but, hey, they had screwed the screen in place instead. The room was gorgeous but the furniture is threadbare and due for renovation. The jetted soaking tub was the best part but not even that was enough to keep us in the room for our full reservation. We left early, forfeiting part of our stay, to find a place with more amenities and services.

This is not at all what was advertised. Upon checking in, we went to the first room, the bathroom had water all over the floor, toilet and bathtub which was disgusting with mold on the side. Got assigned to a new room, this one the bathroom was at least useable. But the shower/tub had lukewarm water at best, the ac unit sucks, there was no complimentary water we went to OXXO to get a couple of bottles. And oh yeah, the restaurant hall are supposed to have is closed for “remodeling”. Never again will I stay here, you should just be honest what condition the property is in instead of lying and trying to make the hotel more desirable

The staff was friendly, but did not speak English. The AC was only on or off - no temperature control. The bathroom and vanity 'felt' dirty and stained. Just didn't feel and look like a clean place.
The worst was the abundance of hair on the bed sheets.

We requested a non smoking room and they allocated a smoking room. After complaining we were moved to another room, this time it has a really mouldy bathroom. We asked for a clean room again and were told that there weren’t any more available. It also claims to be near the centre. It is not. We complained to Expedia and they moved us to a better hotel immediately. After a few days Expedia advises that they would refund our money.

This Hotel did not honor my confirmed booking that has been charged on my credit card! They claimed they did not have our reservation and did not work with Travelocity! They also said they had no rooms available so we were left stranded on a Friday evening. I am a mother and disabled veteran and had travelled far to Merida on two auto-buses with my two children. We were left stranded! Later, after great stress and anxiety of trying to find a room available last minute in the city and finding none available... I had to pay for a very expensive taxi home to the beach and leave Merida all together. This was a disgraceful experience and I feel swindled and robbed.

Air conditioner was directly above bed so I couldn't use it all night without getting a sore throat. Ceiling fan did not work. Was told by the staff it was just for decorative purposes as were all the ceiling fans. They brought me a floor fan and said I could change rooms the next day. The next day, a different person told me there were no other rooms. Then they said I could change that night. Well, they never changed my room. Elevator waa broken. Maybe it was decorative, too! Staff was friendly but not helpful with planning trips and giving information. Hotel was not in the center of town as stated. It was a long walk through iffy neighborhoods. The room was spacious but the bed had a 1 x 6 above the mattress that made sleeping difficult.

If you have a choice...

If you have a choice between a park bench and this hotel, choose the park bench: at least you'll know what you're getting. I reserved a kitchenette only to find that just one burner on the stove top worked, with one spaghetti noodle type pot for everything. No coffee maker, no wash or dry cloths, sink never cleaned, no dinner plate, no scissors, no in-room Wi-Fi, unadjustable fridge, so everything froze in it, limited hot water, very, very far from the centre, so that unless you have a car or can figure out the bus routes, you're better off booking further downtown. Room cleaning was kind of hit or miss. Hotels.com should maybe reconsider this option. My room with a kitchenette did not correspond to anything like I saw in the picture.

Loved the hotel in general but took 3 days for them to change my room because I specifically needed wifi and they kept giving me excuses for it not to be working properly. The beds in this first room were old and not comfortable, also refrigerators are mentioned as a service they offer but it seems it's only in the suites... Once I changed rooms on the 2nd floor, all went smoothly, internet, beds, service so I would go back but to my last room ;) An elevator would be nice.

Do not stay!

Would not recommend this hotel. The beds are extremely uncomfortable, they give you rags (literally) for towels, the shower would not drain, and there is nothing much to see in Merida that cannot be done in one day. The photos of the hotel sucked me on but once in the room it is NOTHING like the photos.

Misrepresented hotel by its advertised photographs. But worse was for them not being able to give me a room with its amenities fully functioning. In particular the Kitchenette not having cold water, and dirty utensils. Bathroom with tub curtain falling apart and towels so little as the ones used to put on floor for exiting the tub. Pool area was being painted and pool water was not inviting.

Our room smelt like mold so much so that I broke out and my aunt began to wheeze and have breathing troubles, staff did not change is to another to until 3am, time when my aunt was also told \"you should have told us you had allergies or asthma\" (she doesn't have asthma & they should have know better) needless to say the staff is not very polite and we were unsatisfied. They also promote safe hotel parking (it's but 4 spaces front of the hotel.)

Checked-in and paid for 7 days, saw the room, checked-out - Room was misrepresented as advertised - No jacuzzi - and it was run down and filthy. When I checked-out they wouldn't cancel my Credit Card charge and I'm still fighting to get my money back. They want to give me a cash refund at a much reduced amount and loss even though I did not stay there, which is against Expedia's written room refund policy.

Pleasant place to stay on a budget

This building is very beautiful but older so there were no 3-prong outlets in my room and therefore I could not charge my laptop once the battery ran out of power. The rooms have little furniture (a four-legged table, and a nightstand between the two beds were all we got in both rooms so there wasn't a lot of space to put things - a dresser in the room would have been nice. You can walk to KFC, Burger King, Subway, and other local eateries and the Centro (downtown) is a short ride/drive away. They offer free parking but really only have four stalls on the property so parking is actually on the streets (but the neighborhood seems safe). For short stays I guess I would stay here again but for longer stays they need to address the electrical outlets and storage space issue.

A nice Mexican feel to the hotel

I received a warm and cheerful welcome from the reception staff and was personally shown to my room by the hotel manage on duty. My room was spacious, comfortable and well decorated.

I enjoyed a couple of relaxing, cool swims in the pool which is located in a private internal courtyard. I found this hotel relaxing and comfortable and would E commend it to other travellers, especially those travelling on a budget.

Good value away from the central chaos

The hotel is a 15 or 20 minute walk from the central square or a 35 pesos taxi ride. Not much in the way of restaurants nearby but otherwise a very nice stay - friendly staff and unlimited purified water. A decent breakfast is available for 75 pesos. Overall very good value for the money

The hotel itself is agreeable, clean rooms, friendly staff, some eateries closeby i.e Subway, KFC etc. and a good tacorilla on opposite side, BUT... it is quite far from the center meaning catching taxis or local bus ( good fun), and my main complaint is the thiness of the comunicating walls. I was woken up by a family with a young child playing in the corridor outside my room at midnight, and know the whole life story plus bathroom habits of the two lads who arrived at 01.00. Not my most relaxing experience in an hotel. Oh don't waste your money on the breakfast either

Small breakfast buffet is about as good as it gets

Where do I begin...I guess I'll start with the positives. The decor is nice, lots of bright colors and the furniture is actually beautiful. However, the beds are not comfortable and neither are the couches. We didn't get the room with a \"rainfall\" shower, but the pressure was great. There's water in a jug downstairs which is convient if you have your own water bottle, otherwise it's 10 pesos for a cold bottle of water. The pool is small, but it's cute. The breakfast buffet was also modest, but delicious nonetheless. The gentlemen who's usually there is REALLY nice. Now...there are no safes, but they will secure things for you in the lobby. (Even though they lost our passports for 20 mins) Our room didn't have a fridge (like advertised), but apparently not all rooms have them. The power went out multiple times, sometimes twice in the course of an hour. The wi-fi doesn't really work in the rooms, only in the lobby. Our ceiling fan didn't work, but the central air circulated okay. Oh, and atm/banking? Better change your money elsewhere. They couldn't exchange our money, let alone make change for us when we did have pesos. This place is advertised as being in the \"Centro\" but it's actually about a 10-15 bus ride away. Less than 10 if you take a cab. It IS conveniently located on a street that is a straight shot from the airport. (About a 20 min taxi ride) For the price, (less than $35/person for 5 nights) it's okay, I just wish they were honest with their description.

Great Hotel in Merida.

Old budget hotel, unfriendly service, deceiving ad

The state of the hotel appears excellent; however, the inside of the rooms tell a different story. They are quite old and smell extremely mouldy. As often the case (in Mexico), we found the pictures to be quite deceiving. There is no outdoor pool (it is a small indoor pool) and the restaurant is much smaller and its menu much more limited than advertised. We were given rooms at the front of the hotel, which were extremely noisy at night. Since we heard the staff say there were plenty of rooms empty in the hotel (and we could see empty rooms for ourselves - you can see in the rooms from the hallways) we asked for a room change. The desk receptionist rudely answered we should be happy with what we got at the check-in and that there is no changes after check-in. Overall, somewhat disappointed, but perhaps we should not expect more than what we have gotten considering the price.

Nice stay for pleasure, but not really for busines

This was pretty much a business trip, so I needed to get some work done at the hotel during the day; however, the Internet was really slow. I reported the problem to the hotel manager but she did nothing to help resolve the issue. This is definitely not a hotel where you can do work; however, it is great for pleasure. A plus is the breakfast they have every morning: it is really delicious and well balanced.

Great Value Hotel

My wife and I stayed here for twelve nights recently. I would say this is the best budget hotel I have ever stayed at, and I've stayed at a lot in Mexico and C.A.. our room was up to US standards with two double beds, a desk/dresser, table and chairs, hanging closet with clothes drawers, and flat screen TV. The hot water and water pressure were excellent with a great rainfall shower head. The air conditioning was quiet and cold. We also had an apartment size refrigerator. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We included the hot breakfast in our rate and it was fresh and hot every morning from 7 to 12 with fresh fruit, chilliquilles(sp?), scrambled eggs, beans, toast, etc.. Nice restaurant in the middle of the hotel by the pool. Hot coffee in the lobby by 6:30 each morning. The city center is a 7 peso ten minute bus ride or 30-40 peso taxi ride away. For $27 US a night plus room tax ($9) this place is a bargain. It will be our hotel of choice in Merida from now on. This is not a five star hotel, but I rate it five stars as a budget hotel.

We were thankfully allowed to check in really early since we arrived in town a lot earlier than I originally planned and we were completely exhausted. The staff was very helpful and nice. The room however, was dirty and everything was old. The bed was very hard. There were a lot of mosquitoes in the room. Also, we could hear everything through the walls. We wouldn't stay again, nor can I recommend.

We stayed at many hotels in Merida over the years, we like to move around. This property was perfectly priced and was OK. There is no elevator and the rooms are all different. Some are very dark. The is only a few parking spaces, but the entire street is wide open. Each night there is a guard that watches the cars. The WIFI is strong and free, the breakfast was included and it was hot, plentiful and traditional. We would stay again because for the price you can't go wrong. We only had an issue with the maid cleaning us last but it was resolved on day 3. Owner was very sweet and did her best.

Solo hay 4 espacios de estacionamiento y se ocupan muy rápido, el hotel no da mas alternativas.

La habitación tenía un mueble sin las patas traseras, el propósito de mi visita era presentar un examen, entonces no podía poner mi lap ahí, pedí que me cambiaran de habitación, había muchos zancudos, no había ni siquiera un vaso, salí a comprar insecticida y después de un rato el cuarto seguía caliente, hable a recepción y el señor de mala manera contestó, fue a la habitación a querer regañarme, no nos cambiaron de cuarto, el baño tiene una fuga de agua que no deja de escucharse, el agua de la regadera muy bien caliente y con buena presión

Bonita, el elevador es muy pequeño, tina de baño muy vieja o sin mantenimiento, no me gusto que la regadera estaba arriba de la tina, habia un foco fundido en el area del baño. No tiene restaurante y la alberca no te da ganas de estar en ella.

En una ocasión anterior me había hospedado y si bien no es un hotel nuevo estaba limpio y cómodo. Debido me atrevi a recomendar para un grupo que fuimos en total 6 habitaciones. En una el baño estaba tapado, otra salio un gusano de la regadera 3 de las habitaciones no contaban con agua caliente y para terminar una cucaracha en la mía. A nuestra llegada otro huésped se quejó de lo mismo. Al quejarme en recepción solo me dijeron que no tenían mas habitaciones. Una muy mala experiencia además de la vergüenza que me hicieron pasar con las personas a las que les recomendé el hotel.

Reservé la \"mejor habitación\" que cuenta con tina de hidromasaje y todo fue bastante malo.
Muebles con manchas, colchón viejo y ruidoso, frigobar manchado y viejo.
Existe una puerta dentro de la habitación que pone un metro de \" no abrir\" y esto es porque tiene acceso directo a otra habitación, literalmente escuchas cada respiro de los huéspedes de alado y ellos te escuchan a ti...
El baño para nada tiene privacidad (como la habitación en general) pues la ventana da a un corredor donde la gente pasa para ir a sus habitaciones, la dichosa tina la encontré sucia, con pedazos de jabón y CABELLOS! la regadera llena de sarro...(Realice el reporte y no hicieron absolutamente nada).
El internet era intermitente, el elevador es viejo y da la sensación de que va a caerse.
El peor hospedaje en el que he estado y lo peor es el costo que pagué por esta mala experiencia.

Baños sucios con mal olor, el aire no enfriaba solo porque habia ventilador la libramos tantito del calor, buros sucios con polvo, deje botellas de agua vacias y cuando regrese ahi seguian, la alberca tiene demaciado cloro me irrito la piel, para lo que me cobraron estuvo pesimo, crei que al ser suites quedaria con buena experiencias pero fue todo lo contrario

Los muebles y accesorios de la habitación están en mal estado, muy viejos, olor de humedad, una pared inflada, manchas de humedad en la cortina y baño, la puerta de la habitación se mueve con el viento debido a que está muy floja y es incómodo escucharla en la noche, las toallas grises de viejas. El área de la cocina tiene cochambre en la campana y parrilla.
