I’m disappointed- we stayed six nights and got the only room without a private porch or outdoor space. We were off in a corner, room #1, no poolside view like the others, so I’m a bit cranky. There is not much art- no charm or extras here. A nice building with potential and a good garden though.
The pool is clean. Location not far from Santa Lucia park. All rooms are on the upper level so be ready for stairs.
You can order eggs for minimal cost if you want more than fruit, yogurt and pre-toasted bread. Only found that out when we saw others getting eggs- it was never communicated to us.
The bedding is nice except for the hard pillows. Plenty of hot water- but be careful with pressure since it sprays out of the shower stall. The wet floor is very slick and dangerous.
There is a large closet in this room but a counter-height shelf for cloths would have been helpful. There is a nice wingback chair and table and a large tv with many channels and a wall console underneath.
There was some remodeling noise but wasn’t a problem for us.
We found street parking, the recommended garage was often not open! So we saved some $$ there.

The Breakfast that was included was fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee and fresh juice. They did offer eggs at an additional fee. The property it beautiful, there is also a communal kitchen but a mini fridge and microwave in the room would have beve been nice. The mosquitoes were bad, and cracks in door didn't prevent them from getting into the room at night. The hotel was in a great location and staff was very friendly. This hotel would be great for a large group of friends, family or a few days, but bring your mosquitoe repellent :)

Very cute comfortable hotel in an easily accessible area. There are a couple of communal kitchens. My only complaint is that someone took my beverages that I purchased and stored in one of the refrigerators. I would have liked a mini fridge and a ceiling fan in the room.

Perfect location and great service - no complaints

I really liked staying here. The front desk is open 24 hours so you don't have to be worried about getting locked out. The staff were very kind and helpful; absolutely no complaints there. The room was a dream for me! A little bit more open to the elements than your average hotel room which I love. The location was superb as well, located in the Santa Ana neighborhood. There was a lot of stuff around the hotel itself, but it's also equidistant from the main plaza, Parque Santa Ana which I came to love, and the Paseo de Montejo. The location was perfect. I recommend the restaurant Dzalbay basically across the street - they have live music on weekdays, good food, and an excellent bartender.

They provide little hotel bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and also bars of soap. I liked that the soap was wrapped in a paper-like substance rather than plastic. They have a system for if you want new towels so you can help cut down on water usage if you want. The hot water worked fine as well as the AC in my room. They also provide you with 2 bottles of water.

In my room there were two doors that opened French-style to the outside (like a small balcony but not big enough to sit out there I don't think) which I loved. There are mosquito nets on the windows so you also can just open the windows for a breeze.

Breakfast is out by the pool in the mornings and is yogurt, a little granola, fruit, toasted white bread, butter/jam, juice, and coffee.

This was a great little hotel, tucked away from the busier touristy area so that you weren’t constantly hearing cars/people all day, But still an easy walk into the main part of Merida. On the weekends there appears to be a bar very close by where you can hear the music and the people screaming from inside your room.
The beds were comfortable, the TVs are comically large in the rooms, and the showers have good water pressure.
The site says they have airport transportation, but they don’t: They will call you a taxi but you still have to pay for it. I just used Uber, It was about $8.

Perfect quirky small hotel near city center. 10 rooms tops, which pair up to make 5 villas that can be “private” if you book 2 rooms, including a lounge and a kitchen with fridge, electric hob and utensils.
Beds are excellent! Some wooden doors are warped and tricky to shut, you might need a night mask if you need full darkness to sleep. The swimming pool and indoor patio and garden is the highlight of the property, super quiet, the perfect place to chill and cool down from the heat of Mérida. Staff are super friendly and available, don’t hesitate to ask for refills of your water bottle if you want to avoid using disposable plastic. Reception 24h but might need a couple of doorbell rings or a phonecall! Highly recommend and planning to visit a third time soon.

Staff very helpful with getting a taxi upon departure. Breakfast was simple but nice. I used fruit, toast, carafe of coffee, and juice. Omelets avail for $3 sur charge. Autolock in safe in room did not work, but staff gave us us a key so we could still use it. Italian Ristorante 1 block away was wonderful! Also enjoyed Majal Blanco for traditional local cuisine. Loved Merida, and would definately return to this hotel.

The hotel is in a good location close to downtown or El Centro. Many options for restaurants and Cafes. The staff is friendly but shy in asking if we need help or have any questions about anything. Since it was our first time in Merida. Now, reviewing Colonial room 8- our room, the room was noisy can hear everything from a bar nearby. The lighting was very dim and there was no safe box to lock valuables. The room could have used some drawers to place socks, shirts, etc. The door handle was a bar that you pull across to lock making it very loud and noisy kept waking my wife every time I used the bathroom. A simple door nob would be much better. The room could use some updating to meet guest expectations.

Very disappointing.

The hotel is beautiful, but the staff (with the cook lady and his assistant as an exception) is terrible. I do not recommend this hotel for older people, steep stairs to go up to the rooms, no elevators available. It it not handicap friendly.

My parents’ bathroom had a nasty smell coming out of the shower drain, we told Juan (the “manager”) and the staff did not do anything about it the whole 4 nights we were there.

Also, Aeromexico changed out flight to a day before our original check out date (without our consent), and even tho a lady at the front desk had already agreed over the phone to refund the extra night, they did not honor their word last minute and we lost $86 dollars.

They claim that the breakfast is included, but only fruit and coffee is, if you want to order eggs or any other plate, you have to pay extra (false advertising, one reason we stayed there was because the breakfast was included and it is not).

Overall, very disappointing.

What a great little hotel! I loved everything about it. All of the rooms are on the second level, and you will only have one room next door because of the way it's designed. The room was very comfortable. Mattress was great, and I loved the vintage heavy wood doors and windows. Every room has a balcony overlooking the pool.
The pool and grounds were meticulously maintained, and it was very refreshing to take a dip after a hot Merida day. One thing that was not clear on the website was those lounge area and kitchen pictures: every two rooms upstairs shares a communal lounge area and kitchen downstairs! And there's a dining area inside and another outside for every two rooms! So this would be a great place to stay for families and groups.
The reception staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and they all spoke very good English. My single complaint was that check-in took 45 minutes. I think the woman working reception was new and didn't know their system yet. She had problems running my credit card but finally got it to work. They also do a lot of manual paperwork so you need to fill out a few forms by hand.
The location was about a 5 minute walk from the Grande Plaza, so going out sightseeing was easy. Beware that there is NO signage on the front of the hotel, so make sure you note the exact address.
This is a great hidden gem of a hotel. I cannot recommend it highly enough. But please don't tell anybody.

The pool is great. If you arrive by car, there is no where to park while you check in, you need to drive up on the curb in front of the door. Service was very good, friendly and helpful. My companions were not too happy about the air freshener in their room (but it wasn't clear if a previous guest had gotten it or it was the hotel). Very nice Colonial style building with big beds and good size bathrooms.

We were so glad we picked this hotel. It’s a bit difficult to find on the street but don’t be put off. A lovely place to both explore the city and relax. Large bedroom on first floor with comfortable bed. Pretty garden and huge bonus of poolside terrace, kitchen and lounge shared with one other room. Delicious Breakfast made to order and served where you like it. All staff friendly and helpful. Good WiFi connection. It is not highly serviced but if you are an even slightly independent traveller you will love it.

I absolutely loved this hotel. I really felt at home here. Plus it was there during low season so 5 days our of the 8 I had the hotel to myself. The pool was amazing, big enough to do laps and I spent quite some time swimming in the afternoon because it was too hot to walk. I visited a lot of hotels in the area and all the pools are generally small. The grounds are so pretty, the colours, the concept of it where you can cook if you want. I travelled solo so I ate out but I could see it being so fun as a group, you can make meals there, they provide all the equipment. Room was great, big enough for me, nice decor, comfy bed and robe, HUGE tv that came in handy on rainy afternoons. Location is also amazing, 5 min from Parque Santa Lucia, great restos and the touristy part. The staff at the hotel was friendly and very helpful, although lacking a little finesse. My last day I asked them to check out late because my flight was at 9pm and the hotel was empty anyway. They were super accomodating, but what left a sour taste in my mouth was the fact that the last day I was asked by the receptionist to give 250 pesos to the maids. I was confused since I tipped them every day. I would leave money in the room and I deemed that to be sufficient. I was checking out to go to airport and the receptionist said goodbye and then reminded me to leave money. I thought that was really inappropriate and also an unpleasant way to end my stay there. But other than this, I loved the place.

Hard to find at night, there was no sign. We went around the block several times before we’re able to find it.

My room was clean and very pretty but when it rained I had water in my room. I also noticed that my shampoo, soap and conditioner in the bottle didn't match the bottle which made me think they are just refilling the bottles with a cheaper shampoo. It said mint and some flower but it very clearly smelled like men axe products and nothing like mint or flowers. It didn't bother me too much but was a little unusual for what I was used to. The staff was there when I arrived and I had to sign a full page waiver of they're rules which was odd because I hadn't seen that before but I don't think they are enforced because for the next two days I never saw the staff again in mornings/ afternoon or evenings until I checked out so unless they were watching from afar the rules don't seem enforced. They said adults only and an 8 year old girl staying with her family there so I don't know if its actually adults only.

This was a really comfortable, unique hotel. Few rooms means few people- and no children. All the staff were really nice and helpful. The breakfast was really good. Beautiful rooms. We had a problem with the shower draining and it was fixed right away. My only complaint would be having to pay for parking in an unsecured lot a block away.

Part of the Ko'ox brand of hotels, several of which are within walking distance of each other. Don't judge a book by its cover. The exterior of Ko'ox 64 is nondescript Merida. But inside is oh so cozy verdant courtyard with rooms one floor up. Quintessential small boutique hotel. Only 10 or 12 rooms. Quiet. Balcony overlooking the fabulous pool with quality chez lounges.
Pros: Great staff. No children. Tastefully decorated. Nespresso Coffee each morning.
Cons: Heavy cotton bathrobe. Down comforter on the bed. In the tropics??? Small room. Perfect for one. A bit crowded for two, I imagine. Too much clutter. But you can take over and rearrange and the maids don't care. Good WiFi.

Cool small central hotel. Pool is bigger than it looks. We were originally given a room stuck at the back with no view. We complained and were moved the next day to a lovely room with balcony overlooking the pool. Unusual arrangement where each bedroom is on the first floor, with large ground floor hall / seating area beneath which seems rarely used. TV has Netflix which was great.

Good building but long ways to go

New hotel with good intentions but poor execution. The building itself it’s nice, large rooms and comfortable bed.
The staff are friendly and means well but they lack training, guidance, and attention to details.
No luggage assistance, lots of time no one at reception, breakfast of low quality for a place that is trying to set them as a boutique hotel, products of very average quality (bread, juice, breakfast meat). Listing says coffe/tea in room but no machine available, they did however deliver coffee in the room when requested on the morning.
Wish this business all the success but for the price charged I would stay elsewhere, the city is full of gems.
