The hotel itself is lovely, especially the pool area. The staff were very helpful with providing information and helping us find drivers, etc. The only downside for us was that there was very little as far as shops, cafes or restaurants in the immediate area, and no small grocery stores for picking up fruit or small items. Fortunately the breakfast that the hotel offers is excellent and substantial. We loved the hotel and would stay there again. I would recommend getting one of their upgraded room for the most comfortable stay.

The breakfast was excellent. However, there were small red bugs on the bed. In the morning we were all full of itchy bug bites. No sure if those were bed bugs or fleas. But the experience of sleeping at this hotel was really disappointing.

Beautiful, tranquil property

My week at Hotel Zamna was fantastic. The hotel is beautiful. The 24-hour availability of water, tea and coffee in the kitchen-adjacent pantry was appreciated. The included morning breakfasts were superb. Eggs, bacon, fruit, yogurt, etc. And made in the kitchen custom for my wishes. This is not the US-style of self-service breakfast! The food was top notch. The room was comfortable. Bathroom was well-stocked. Everything about this hotel was so clean and tidy. The pool with waterfall was gorgeous. The location of the hotel in Barrio Santiago is convenient to the Plaza Grande and other parks and so very many top notch restaurants. Calle 53 is a very quiet street. And finally, Jesus (property manager) and Diana (reception manager) are both delightful people. I love this hotel and my family will likely end up staying there in the future. 6 stars out of 5!!

This hotel was ok, but just ok. The price was reasonable, but the accommodations reflect it. Rooms were somewhat bare, but nothing materially bad. Bathroom vanity had little room to place anything. Pool didn't seem too inviting. Breakfast was a small buffet. I would categorize this a decent budget hotel rather than the how it is named as boutique hotel

We planned on a two week stay. Had to check out two days earlier with ample notice, partly due to illness. Owner confirmed we would not be charged for the two nights but the front desk argued that is not what the owner told her even though they immediately booked out our room. We did not have ac for half of the time here so our clothes, including bed sheets and towels were always damp. Also, there was sewage smell coming through the shower drain and we had the hardest, most uncomfortable bed ever. We never felt rested during our entire stay. We do not recommend this hotel.

In general, everything was excellent. Nice and pleasant place. The staff and breakfast were great. They always and promptly answered to any request. They should renovate the bathrooms. They need to find a way to safely control the mosquitos in some areas. In one of our party rooms the mosquitos were annoying. Other than that, simply excellent.

the staff and food is amazing, the property condition - 8 years old a little worn, but beautiful. Kind of like having your own little private getaway. Once you walk out side the front doors it is a different world, it is a very old city. We enjoyed the local stores, vendors and food. lots of Yucatan food dishes, MUST HAVE PANUCHOS!! Uber everywhere here... cheap. We stayed 9 days and they were filled with adventure. To get the most out of your trip, do lots of research on things to do

Chose Hotel Zamna for your next stay in Merida

This was a lovely quiet and comfortable place to stay. The service was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was great with a different menu every day; they even had lactose free milk and coffee/tea service available all day. I enjoyed using the outside hammock on the patio with the honor bar. The pool was a lovely antidote to the hot days.

Leidy had our rooms spic and span daily, and we loved making small talk with her; sweetest housekeeper ever! Daily breakfast and coffee was delish! Very easy check in, safe and quiet area, short walk to the busy center of Merida. Cannot recommend Zamna enough!

The hotel is located on a quiet street yet all of central Merida is easily available by walking. The included breakfast is excellent with a changing daily extra in addition to always present fresh cut fruit, yogurt, granola, juice, breads, and coffee. Even a bean to cup Breville espresso machine. Staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Staff is definitely what puts this hotel above others I've stayed at in Merida. Common areas are beautiful, clean, and tranquil. Included breakfast is fresh, healthy, and delicious. Quickish walk to the center but in a quiet neighborhood. Small neighborhood park with good affordable market food available around the corner. Dislike: Booked the hotel then tried to arrange shuttle pickup at airport. I knew this service existed because I had seen the shuttle before. Because I booked through Expedia however, Zamna would not pick me up in their shuttle. I was going to cancel my Expedia booking and book directly through the hotel in order to get shuttle service but my booking was nonrefundable. I feel like the hotel website should be more clear about how to use the shuttle service or Expedia should include the service.

Hidden Gem in the Centro

We stayed at the Hotel Zamna for a total of 10 nights and our stay was easy and enjoyable. Hotel Zamna is the perfect hotel for a stay in Merida, it is convenient to almost every place you want to go. We walked to most places we wanted to go. It is easy to get to the Plaza Grande, Parque Sta Lucia and just blocks away from Parque Santiago and the market there The service and staff are impeccable from the airport pick up and drop off to the housekeeping staff everyone is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious, filing and changes everyday. They were able to happily accommodate our vegetarian diet. The front desk helped to answer any questions we had and even made arrangements for a doctor to make a house call. You would be hard pressed to find a better and more convenient hotel in a quiet neighborhood at this price range.

Zamna hotel is a cute boutique hotel with excellent staff and service. Unfortunately, their rooms leave a lot to be desired. The standard room has a tiny full size bed, I mean tiny. The beds are uncomfortable, the AC is difficult to regulate so you’re either freezing or hot, and the shower heads are very old. Overall, the serviceable and friendly staff made our stay okay, but it’s not a super comfortable hotel if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway.

The Hotel Zamna was mixed: a nice facility, good rooms, attractive pool and spa walkable to many good restaurants and historic venues. But it was a little odd: the staff was nice, but often absent; the rooms were good, but strangely cleaned (bed made, but garbage not emptied, etc.). Breakfasts were really good - though only served after 8:30 (meaning it was hard to get going early).

Family owned, brand new beautiful rooms in a hotel that was added on to the back of a traditional Merida well preserved colonial home. Beautiful and clean pool, fresh cooked breakfast every day with a revolving menu, relaxation areas, a mellow and stylish vibe, an excellent location near to both Santiago and Santa Lucia Squares, and priced like it offers much less. We would never bother to look for another hotel after trying this one. We stayed seven nights and did not want to leave. And if the attitude of your hosts matters to you, you will love Rocio and Jose Luis, the couple who not only own and run the hotel, but live there as well. They invite you to text any time with any need or questions. Oh, and I forgot because this hotel hits all the right notes, plush towels, firm and supportive beds, and good A/C in all rooms. Basically everything you want in a safe and comfortable home away from home.

Hidden Gem of a boutique hotel

We were so pleased to have found this hidden gem. Very good location within min 10 minutes of the Parcs areas. The rooms were spotless and a great breakfast. The reception staff were very friendly and gave us some good restaurant recommendations. The swimming pool and jacuzzi areas were set in the middle of a courtyard with places to sit and relax. Coffee and hot water was available free of charge all day and evening. We had an early start before breakfast on our last day and we found cereal, fruit and biscuits put in our room fridge So very thoughtful. Wish we could have stayed longer.

This is a very comfortable pretty hotel but they are painting and improving the place and in so doing there were a bunch of tools and buckets ... Right outside my door which was unsightly. The staff is wonderful and the breakfasts are great! The mini fridge and ice machine are great for the hot humid weather.

Wonderful stay in a Quaint Hotel

Three of us booked 2 rooms. This is a quaint hotel with a beautiful courtyard/pool area, it was perfect for a break from the heat of the day. Breakfast was tasty, in a cute little nook of the hotel. The rooms were comfy and stylish. When I thought I had lost my wallet, Hector and his staff were very concerned (I didn't for a moment think anyone at the hotel was responsible). I found it, it was my own issue, but was impressed by the offer of assistance and the level of concern. Hector is very efficient but without a lot of fuss and was helpful whenever we asked for assistance, as were the rest of the staff. We got the impression that they all care about their guests. as with other reviews, we found the location was great (near Santa Lucia, near Plaza Grande, and near La Lupita for great tacos!) Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Zamna is in a great location and super quiet. Bed was really nice and comfortable. Bathroom was very small and shower didn't work so well (but there was lots of hot water). Breakfast is basic but good - coffee was terrible. Lots of rave reviews about staff being helpful but beyond Hector being fabulous at check in, our experiences with staff were not good.

Overall a great little hotel that's soon to be expanding. Great front desk staff and live-in manager. Quiet location away from downtown noise, but walkable to the action. I had no problem walking to & from at night. Rooms were clean and comfortable, quality toiletries, the included breakfast was excellent, free water, free shuttle, and the pool was very nice. Bikes are available for a small fee. Stayed in two separate rooms during two close but separate stays. The fan in #1 was noisy so I turned off to sleep. Everything else was great. The fan in #5 was quiet, but the shower and wifi not great. The showerhead wasn't adjustable and the beams of water are aimed too high. The wifi was good near the door, but not great on the bed. Overall a 5 as everything else was really good and I'm sure the staff will look into these concerns.

The entrance to the hotel is beautiful! However that’s where it ends! This was the first hotel I’ve stayed at in Mexico where I actually felt unsafe! The room lock actually showed the screws in the mechanism. The laminate flooring was peeling everywhere and the bed was substantially smaller than the bed frame. Guaranteed to break a toe!

This property was clean, had a great pool and staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, giving us suggestions about concerts, and even driving us to move to another hotel where we were meeting a friend. Breakfast buffet was also plentiful.
The only drawback is this hotel is not located close to the center of town . But Uber will get you there in 10 minutes or less.
