Staff is amazing, super friendly, and they will accommodate to you as much as they can although their rooms are basic in amenities and you have to be prepared for not throwing paper to the toilet because it’s forbidden. But location is fantastic in terms of walking distance to the historic centre of the city.

I will start with the good - the staff was very kind and every time I asked for something or addressed a concern, they were responsive and genuinely seemed to care about what I was saying and they wanted to fix it. The pictures on Expedia oversell the property. The pool is very small and no one used it; it was clean but it was not really suitable to use. The breakfast is painfully limited and it is enough for you to get out in the morning and quickly find something else to eat at an early lunch. The room was just ok - the top cover was somewhat dingy and there was no hot water - they said run it for 20 minutes for the boiler to get active but the water never got hot. It only got almost warm; it was just still cool but enough to take a shower. There was a HUGE roach/water bug in the room which basically left us concerned that we couldn't have anything on the floor like luggage, shoes, etc. There was no fridge in our room - you had to get the suite for that. No ice on premises. We did have a nice-sized TV with Netflix and we watched English-language programming on that. The cleaning staff throws away things in the room that are not in the trash can - I guess because they determined it was trash but if I don't put it in one of the two trash cans in the room then do not touch it. I didn't like that and I told the front desk to ask them to not throw away anything that wasn't in the trash can but that did not work. The desk is open 24-hours so that's helpful if you needed things.

The toilet is 65 ft from the bed. Poor planning for me. Old colonial house converted with little thought to good easy use.
Pool is very small. Ask for breakfast voucher because they forget to give you it and also password for wifi. Phone in room useless.

LUKEWARM WATER AND LOW PRESSURE

Hotels.com and others have this hotel as FABULOUS. Nothing fabulous when low shower water pressure (trickle) and less than lukewarm water...cold! Shower tile grimy, interior needs a fresh coat of paint and bathroom wall separated by plywood wall approximately 7 feet high and no ceiling. So all smell and sounds are in bedroom too. I asked another couple staying at opposite end of building and they were experiencing the same shower problems. I am a frequent user of this website and get rooms for my employees and me. First time we experience this horrible shower low water pressure and lukewarm water.

Nos hospedamos del 14 al 17 de marzo, las instalaciones del hotel estan aceptables lo terrible que no te puedes bañar apropiadamente por que no sale suficiente agua en las regaderas o incluso solo un pequeño chorro en ocasiones muy caliente o muy fria sin poder controlar la temperatura del agua y tuvimos la misma experiencia en las dos habitaciones de las que mi familia dispuso.

Truly a boutique hotel, La Casona reflects the typical historical architectural elements I've grown to love in Mexico. However, the rooms do have modern touches, were clean and comfortable. Great hot water, cosy beds and very friendly and helpful staff. Prime location too in the midst of Centro with great restaurants and sites around. Ample parking is also available. I will definitely stay again!

I liked how they keep the essence of the old colonial house and they use light to enhance the architecture, the hotel is 3 blocks away from downtown Merida, close to good restaurants and bars, I think they should improve cleanliness and be consistent in the amount of towels they provide every day. I didn’t like that they allow families with small kids and babies, sorry I am 50 and this hotel is not set for families with kids and babies. Fortunately, that happens during last day of my stay. Overall, good place to stay, I will return

This hotel is a nice beautiful quaint hotel. Everything seems as if it has been upgraded. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning works great. The tv’s are LG and you can watch tv in Spanish and English. The hotel is walking distance to El Centro, food, shops and transportation. They offer free parking that is on the corner of the street. The only thing missing from this hotel is a mini fridge. Also there is no coffee maker or microwave if that is something you are looking for, but there is a coffee shop right across from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again, the price was amazing and you are close to everything!

Beautiful hotel with good service!

Beautifully maintained traditional style building with an excellent pool.
Although this hotel does not have their own bar or kitchen service, the staff is more than helpful when it comes to getting what you need!
Try staying away from the suites. Although they are very large, they are facing the street which is very noisy and the bathrooms are literally in the same room as the bed - which lets the ‘noise’ into the room too.

Nos hemos hospedado ya 5 veces mi esposa y mi bebé, las primeras 3 todo sin contratiempos, las últimas dos las personas de recepción nefasta su actitud de servicio al cliente, inclusive en esta última ocasión la señorita Ruth no nos ofreció cuarto ya que veníamos con mi bebé y nos comentó que no había disponibilidad, derivado de eso hice la reservación en Expedia teniendo 6 habitaciones disponibles, no es un hotel Only Adultos así que mi molestia fue muy notaria al rechazo de darnos cuarto con un bebé, eso se llama discriminación y creo que una empresa tan seria y con certificados de alta calidad como KAVIA debería de poner foco es esos detalles ya que por una persona de recepción los clientes se van.

Estuvimos del 27 de diciembre al 2 de enero de 2026 en una \"suite\": una habitación antigua de techo alto en la que improvisaron un WC y una regadera, esta con problemas para templar el agua; el servibar lo pusieron junto a la cabecera y en el lavado cae tierra y arena del techo que necesita mantenimiento.

Descuidado el mobiliario de la habitación y recepción, le falta mayor mantenimiento, cabeceras de cama despintadas, fierro oxidado en lavabo, agua de alberca no transparente (no dan ganas de entrar), escaleras descuidadas. Siempre es un gusto volver a la CASONA. Con la buena atencion qué brindan desde recepcion, cafetería y personal de limpieza. Espero volver a regresar y poder saludar a la Srita.Ruth, Don Juan y claro el Siempre optimista José. Al igual qué el amigo cubre turnos. Que estan siempre disponible para apoyarte en cualquier imprevisto o duda que tengas haciendo mas amena tu esrancias en estas recamaras amplias y comodas. Buena ubicación pero no excelente, camas cómodas pero almohadas pésimas, detrás del lavabo oxidado, la coladera de la regadera sin tornillos y se salía de su sitio, no hay donde colgar cosas mojadas / húmedas, en la pared donde se detiene el papel del WC habían agujeros del soporte anterior pero nunca los resanaron o taparon.
La manager del hotel (Sra Olivia) nunca tuvo la amabilidad de comunicarse conmigo después de varias solicitudes.
Yo hice reservación a través de Expedia pero el hotel recibió mi reservación a través de un tercero, en donde no se confirmo desayuno incluido (el hotel solo tiene opción con desayuno incluido). asi que tuve que pagar desayuno de 4 personas por 4 días por fuera.

Siempre qué se puede la accesibilidad a tu habitación antes de la hora,el desayuno no es el clasico pan con cafe y jugo y fruta. Hay 3 opciones mas lo anterior incluido en cada desayuno todo preparado individualmente. El personal atento y el lobby no deja de ser su carta de presentación con los chic@s y no tan chicos Siempre con una sonrisa dispuesto apoyar en cualquier duda o imprevisto. Lamentablemente no falta algun huésped qué hace lo qué no haría uno en su casa ni exigir demás cuando son accesibles siempre. Me da gusto saber qué eso no influye con el resto de los clientes. Felicitaciones por ser innovadores y con paciencia qué se convierte en una mejor atención al cliente. Saludos.

Es un gusto volver de nueva al Hotel boutique la casona by kavia, ya qué cuenta con todos los servicios y accesibilidad y ahora con el area de restaurante qué inicio con los desayunos incluidos con la estancia diaria con la diferencia de un desayuno de pan con cafe y frutaslo comúnen otros hoteles, además se anexa 3 opciones qué no estan nada mal y qué lo preparan individualmente y con buen sazon.el area de comedor acogedor y reservado en un area saliendo de tu habitación, y con la atencion en recepción que se agradece de gente gentil como es la Srita. Cumple perfectamente con su función, buen tamaño de las habitaciones, el aire acondicionado jala super bien, el personal muy amable y el estacionamiento accesible, un área de mejora sería que tuvieran un espacio para que uno haga trabajo remoto porque la silla de la habitación no es muy cómoda usando la mesa que hay. Está súper bien ubicado pues caminando de llegar al centro y a varios lugares de comida, el turibus sale a dos calles, la catedral está a tres, muy recomendable en grupo de amigos o pareja.
