The main strength of Piedra de Agua is its staff.
Yes-the building is lovely, classic, a great blend of old and new and the amenities were great from the soaps to the linens to the towels.
But the best part of the stay was the attitude of and the treatment by the incredible staff.
Daniel made us feel like family and seems to have trained the staff very well.
Melanie, Jessica?, Hansen, and Oliver in Maintenance were friendly, engaging and super helpful.
We look forward to our next visit to Merida and our next stay at Piedra de Agua.

I paid extra for the presidential suite for the tub, and on the first night there was no hot water for a bath or a shower. The TV was not functional, and there were noisy guests outside my room at 2-3 AM. The hotel is already on a busy street and has city/street noise but waking up in the middle of the night to the people being loud with no consideration of other guests made it impossible to get a full night’s sleep. Overall it was a beautiful hotel but clearly outdated with its plumbing and infrastructure. Only AC units no central AC, and no hot water is very disappointing for the price that I paid for this boutique hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay. Great location, very close to everything. Property is beautiful and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. You should be aware of the street noise though. We slept with a sound machine which made it no problem. Location was worth the trade off. Double shutters to balcony door blocked out all natural light during the day, so it's all all or nothing situation. We kept them closed all the time to avoid letting bugs in. Also, there is no elevator, but the staff was happy to carry luggage upstairs for us. Valet was not always available, so we sometimes had to walk to/from the parking lot a few blocks away. I'm providing this feedback just to help future guests be prepared. I would still recommend this hotel when staying in Merida.

We loved the Piedra de Agua Hotel!! LOCATION LOCATION!!! Located 1/2 block from Plaza de Armas/Catedral, shopping and great restaurants.
Staff at hotel was awesome, they went beyond to make us feel comfortable, provide us with lots of area details, they even accompany us to the church were we had a wedding. Food was great!!! People cooking and serving us were incredible!!! LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!

Very good experience - nice city hotel with friendly team. You get a nice view of the cathedral from the outside bar. The hotel were very responsive to our restaurant recommendation requests and organised us a private driver for a tour who we loved and was very affordable. The room and bathroom was small but fine if you’re out and about and everything was clean and comfy. Great location!

Excellent location. All within walking distances. But nothing else makes it worth the high price. The place is in need of great repairs everywhere. I know that an old building has a charm and is expected to see "age" on everything but the repairs and upgrades made are not made by professionals. I saw that while we stayed: paint job of the main entrance made by average people not paying attention to guests. Rooms are really small, even when I paid for a VIP room. The bathroom was very uncomfortable since we had no leg room. Shutters hard to open and close. Coffee maker had bugs inside, good thing thay had no coffee to brew. But the staff was friendly.

The property was extremely Hot!!!!!!!!!!!! They didn’t have any type of air conditioning when you walk into where they have the restaurant and rooms. You have to go up the stairs there’s no elevator because it’s an old home. It would be nice if they would go and turn on the AC unit way before you arrive. They did hold our luggage while we went out and about but unfortunately we had some chocolates we had purchased and they were all melted bcuz they also had the luggage in an area where it wasn’t air conditioning. The employees were nice. We got a room by the Main Street and the noise wasn’t bad at all. I’m just happy it was only for a night. I don’t recommend it. The room

Rooms that faced the street were awfully noisy, and we could not sleep.
On the other hand, we used the valet parking. One day, we couldn't use our car because the valet was not in the hotel and couldn't tell us when he would return. The next day, when we were leaving, they couldn't get the car keys (since they were in the security box and didn't have the keys for the security box). We had a very tight schedule since we were leaving for the airport and needed to return the rented car. They refused to call a locksmith because they couldn't pay for it. After 40 min of looking, they found the keys, and we could leave, but we almost lost our flight. Our stay at this hotel was miserable, a terrible experience.

I had a bad experience with this property. The main reason was that the rooms on the side of the street have a lot of sound of construction (which continues into the night) or general sound street later on, to the point where it's hard to sleep. The room does not have a safe.

My main concern was with the valet parking. One day, we were unable to use the car since the person in charge of it was not around, so we had to spend a significant amount in taxis to make up for it. On the day of check-out, the hotel staff had placed our car key in a safe, and could not find the key to the safe. They were unwilling to call a locksmith, which they should have done at their expense since this was their mistake. We ended up leaving over 40 minutes later than we wanted due to this, until they finally found the key.

Other than that, the decor is nice, the hotel is clean, and the restaurant is good (but overall I would recommend against staying in this hotel).

This is a somewhat charming hotel, well-situated in the center of Merida, but is very far from being a four-star hotel. Rooms are much smaller than advertised, the bathrooms have no air conditioning, and the front desk is not a true 24-hour front desk. If you arrive back to the hotel after 11 or 11:30pm, you have to text the hotel via WhatsApp to have someone come and open the door for you, often waiting over 5 minutes on the street to have someone come.

In my opinion, this is really just a two-star hotel that just has a great location. That being said, most of the staff were very nice and helpful, minus the hotel manager…who was not whatsoever.

I was excited to stay at this hotel, but it turned out to be a not-so-dream vacation.

After returning from the beach one evening, I realized a ring was missing from my room. I reported it to the front desk in the hopes that maybe it was just an accident, taken from my room when the water glass I left it in was picked up by housekeeping.

However, after tearing my room apart to look for it, realized that a second box full of other jewelry was ALSO missing. My assumption is that they went missing at the same time, but I just didn't realize.

I reported the other missing items and asked if I should file a police report. The front desk staff kept saying the manager wanted to speak with me and to just wait. The night before I left, I asked if she was in, she wasn't, but they assured me she would be there in the morning. Of course, she ended up "coming in late that day." It definitely feels like she was avoiding me now.

I emailed the hotel when I got home and the response I got was that "they weren't responsible" and didn't offer me even a small refund as an apology.

Staying at this hotel really put a damper on my trip, as I just did not feel comfortable. I didn't use any of the amenities because who wants to really be somewhere where you feel like you've been violated?

So I'd think twice before booking this hotel. There are plenty others in the area. Probably even cheaper!

Tuvimos varios inconvenientes desde la llegada. El primer día el agua del baño no se iba por la coladera y lo reportamos. El segundo día nos quedamos sin agua toda la noche y nunca tuvimos acceso al internet de la habitación.

El hotel es bonito y la ubicación excelente, pero eso significa que la habitación es ruidosa por las noches. Por el precio esperábamos mucho más, pero nos quedó a deber.

Mi experiencia en el Hotel Casa de Piedra fue francamente decepcionante y muy por debajo de lo que se espera —y se paga— por un lugar que se presenta como “hotel boutique”.

La habitación que se ofrece como premium es muy pequeña, con una distribución poco funcional. El baño resulta incómodo. La regadera se tapa, el agua se desborda y termina inundando el piso del baño. Además, hay claros problemas de humedad, manchas y un mantenimiento deficiente en todas las áreas del hotel.

El hotel anuncia servicios que no están realmente disponibles. El menú ofrecía jugos que simplemente no tenían. También se promociona un spa, pero aun solicitando el servicio con un día de anticipación, nos informaron que no había disponibilidad. Esto genera una sensación constante de falsa promesa.

Las áreas comunes y la entrada —como se aprecia en las imágenes— lucen descuidadas, sin el encanto, el detalle ni el cuidado que definen a un verdadero hotel boutique. Más allá de una estética básica, falta de mantenimiento y olvido de un espacio que hace varios años debió ser muy agradable.

En resumen, no cumple con los estándares de un hotel boutique ni en instalaciones, ni en experiencia. Mérida tiene opciones mucho mejores por el mismo precio o incluso menos.

La habitación muy pequeña, cama queen. El baño pequeñísimo, no hay donde dejar tus cosas personales. El estacionamiento está a tres cuadras y no hay valet parking y además te cobran 200 pesos extra. No hay elevador, así que te toca cargar tus maletas, para el precio que manejan arriba de 3500 pesos no lo vale.

Das Hotel ist schon ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen aber hat sehr viel Charme. Die Lage ist hervorragend, gleich im Zentrum alles sehr gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Vom kleinen Balkon aus kann man wunderbar das Leben in der Straße beobachten. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gerâumig, sehr hoch was dem Klima gut tut. Das Frühstück ist ausgiebig und wird frisch zubereitet. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Ein Parking ist ca 100m entfernt, vor dem Hoteleingang kann man das Mietauto auch Mal stehen lassen um in Ruhe ein und auszuchecken.
Wir liebten den Aufenthalt - könne das Hotel sehr empfehlen Vielen lieben Dank

Hotel limpio y bonito, tipico representativo de la región. No llevar maletas oesadas porque no tiene elevador y son dos pisos.

Discreto nel complesso

Hotel situato in pieno centro di Merida. Palazzo non di recente ristrutturazione con quale scelta di design azzeccata. Avrebbe bisogno di un restauro intelligente con un occhio che guardi alla sostenibilità e insonorizzazione. Le camere sulla strada sono molto rumorose. Le camere interne non hanno finestre.

Le cucine dell’hotel non hanno un impianto di filtraggio dell’aria efficiente, potreste avere i fumi della cucina in camera.

DEPLORABLE. La definición de basura. Mal servicio, no ayudaban ni con las mochilas, me encontré una cucaracha en la habitación, el VALET PARKING no existe. Las personas en recepción mal educadas. NO LO RECOMIENDO nada.
Deja mucho que desear.
