Easy check in and very comfortable room, we slept with no interruptions at all despite a private party of youngsters being held in the hotel the same evening. It was only in the morning when we realised our room was overlooking the entrance and we never heard a single peep. We chose the hotel as it had gym facilities and the gym was absolutely fantastic for a hotel gym, we would love to come back and enjoy more of the facilities in the future. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

Our room had a very unpleasant smell on arrival, the jets in the bath also had an unpleasant smell once turned on. The mini bar, was not working so we could not use to store drinks and the safe wouldn’t work. Overall the the staff were pleasant and very helpful

The bar had run out of key main courses and bottled beer. The swimming pool was only half available at the very limited time the children could use it - due to swimming lessons. Overall it was ok, but it felt really expensive given the negatives.

Check in was painful, after waiting 10 mins for the receptionist to arrive, she was curt and a little rude.
Room is ok, but no heating, tried calling down to reception but no answer, a call back was made to me at 1000 at which point once awake I waited for an electric heater to be delivered.

They presented us with a bill £130 over what was due, not only charging again for meal deal but not giving the credit for meal deal, so paying for food on top of prepayment.
The rib-eye steak my wife was given has to be the worst I have even seen, all fat and grizzle could not get a serrated knife through it. Also fat still white.
Finally, didn't get the alarm call we requested.
The reception staff were lovely, except for failed call.

Room - Stayed for 2 nights and the bedroom had no heating. They didn't offer to move us to a new room, even though we upgraded to the deluxe. They said they would fix the heating and gave us a portable heater. We asked the following day and nothing was fixed. The room was freezing for our whole stay.
Also, the rooms are very dated and need refurbishing.

Food - Went for lunch at the restaurant and asked for a sandwich with bloomer bread. The bread was a thin piece of white bread. When inquiring about the bread, they ignored me and made me feel stupid for asking.

Staff - Staff were really friendly, besides the one who served us for lunch.

Overall a good hotel for short stay - walkable to local shops. Let down slightly by pool facilities as it’s also a members club, so very busy during swimming lessons each afternoon and the wrong time was posted in rooms for when pool was unavailable. However that was rectified with apologies, and was simply an error. Coffee at breakfast is from a machine which for myself was unpleasant. Room was excellent for price, and would use hotel again if in area.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, got checked in swiftly by Emily who was absolutely wonderful throughout our stay, very accommodating and nothing was too much to ask. We did have issues with heating but the gentleman on the night shift provided us with heaters that were more than sufficient heating our room up perfectly. Room was spotless, cleaned by Beti, thank you! Buffet breakfast was plentiful and filling, everywhere looked very clean and welcoming. We look forward to coming back again!

The facilities and hotel itself is quite dated. Breakfast options are extremely limited and cold with slow turnover of empty trays. This hotel is aimed at a certain age demographic, could do with modernisation. I had to cancel my second night stay and went to another hotel. Even a holiday Inn would’ve been fine. Not comparable to The Belfry in Birmingham which is stunning

Nice friendly hotel. Room 202 was an excellent Deluxe Double with a huge bed. Very comfy!

Breakfast was very good even though the fried eggs were a bit hit and miss. You could ask for poached eggs though.

All in all a great stay and only a 30 minute bus ride into the city.

Local pub a short stroll away.

Reception staff are lovely and helpful. Rooms are lovely and well designed and laid out. Clean bathroom with a shower cubicle which is brilliant. Room lighting options are possibly the best I’ve experienced in a hotel. Really loved the room. Lovely breakfast team with such lovely welcoming staff and service. The not so good aspects were that breakfast was not relaxing as some staff were watching/standing each time I got food. Very very off putting.
I was staying for work but was my own booking at my cost as I just didn’t want to drive back home in the dark frosty evening especially so thought I’d go relaxingly the next day after doing some work at the hotel in room before and after breakfast and then in any space available after checking out. So I got a drink and worked in the space next to the restaurant dining as it was busy with lots of people doing work and meeting people. I sat there for 10 minutes and unknowingly the area was part of the restaurant so a member of staff came in (who was also part of breakfast team) and I could see she was counting tables etc so I said promptly please do let me know if and egff eg n you need to move. I was expecting to be told to move but not so curtly or abruptly. I was told 10/15 minutes please. Same thing could have been said politely respectfully. Just as I was being. Felt like school. Moved to another area which was never cleared from previous 2 guests tea/coffee for the 2 hours I was sat there. Went home with an unpleasant feel….

Room worn/dated and a tiny shower, staff in restaurant were awful and untrained. Pool, spa etc was very basic.

Overall, over priced for the quality of hotel and service received. Would not revisit.

Have stayed here several times, rooms and hotel overall always lovely and clean. Reception staff very pleasant, bar staff on this visit not so.

Overall our short stay was good, but had booked a double room however were given a twin room, but didn’t realise until we were actually going to bed later that night.

Spacious room outside Cambridge that was 10-15min drive to the park & ride and West site Cambridge STEM campus. Ideal for an open day visit as parking was free at this hotel and we didn't fancy driving in central Cambridge. I used the swimming pool in the hotel which was a good size and open from 6.30am. the breakfast was plentiful and buffet style.

We had the intention of using the spa and facilities but we were put off with children having swimming lessons. It was not a relaxing experience. We understand from a business point of view, why the hotel rents out the pool for swimming lessons - but for a nice relaxing spa experience it should not be advertised as such. Been to better hotels with spas. Would not recommend.

Perfect Spa Break Weekend near Cambridge

We had a great night away at the Belfry. Staff were very friendly and attentive at all parts of our trip. Front desk were really nice and informative when asked.
Our room was at a great spec, clean and we enjoyed the large space and modern features such as bedside usb chargers.
The spa was also at a good level and size. It was nice it was accessible out with checked hours. Don't expect to get a good swim at busy times, however sauna and steam room are good sized but the gym had a great amount of equipment.
Breakfast was also had a good spread and good quality.
Overall a great stay and night away a stones throw from Cambridge.

What an excellent hotel.

Our stay was very comfortable. The room was nicely furnished and well serviced.

The gym was excellent, with very good equipment which was well maintained. We didn't use the pool but it looked very good too.

Breakfast was also excellent, a good variety of options. The cooked breakfast was cooked to the highest standards. It was also possible to request personalised off menu foods.

The staff were all very helpful and positive.

Public transport to and from Cambridge was economical and very frequent.

Average hotel and spa overall, room comfort and styling was the best about it. Spa changing rooms unclean, small, stifling hot and pretty grim. Spa area ok but small and busy for so many hotel and outside guests. No dressing gowns given to hotel (only people with treatments) guests which was disappointing. Breakfast had huge variety and everything tasty except sausage/bacon meat quality pretty low. Overall good and enjoyed our stay but wouldn't go back as price too high.

Nice hotel but fridge didn't work in the room.

Overall it was a nice hotel. The fridge in my room didn't work and they said there is nothing they could do about it. There needs to be a shower sign outside the pool shower. Also the jacuzzi is automatic. I'm sure to save money, but waiting is a little annoying.

I didn't eat at the restaurant maybe it's good but £20 for a cheese burger seemed very steep for me.

Overall we enjoyed our stay but there were few things we was not happy with. We needed extra pillows (only one each) it took three requests to get them.
On the second day I was told at the bar I had reached my limit on putting purchases to my room, I had to go to the reception & query this, as I've never had this experience as I just pay the total bill at the end of my stay.
One morning at breakfast there was not enough food as there were large wedding guest groups!
On the positive side, evening meals and breakfast were to a high quality, our bed room was spacious, clean and had good facilities. The gym had a good selection of equipment. Staff generally were friendly.

Lovely hotel with good facilities, dog friendly as well which we didn’t know when we booked but next time it’s good to know we could bring the dog. Breakfast was delicious both mornings, fresh and had a good variety of food. The room was spacious, clean and had a good size tv to watch the football on. Overall really enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly and helpful too.

Great stay. Hotel situated in a lovely neighbourhood outside the city although it’s easy to get to. It was full but very quiet with ample on site parking. Rooms are a nice size and adequately furnished. Could have more pillow but I’m sure these would be made available me on request. Decent choices for breakfast. We would stay here again if visiting Cambridge in the future.

Pretty good but no air con

All was pretty good as it was only an overnight stay. Room was lovely, clean and looked more special than the budget hotels that we are more used to when travelling. Bit surprised there was no air conditioning. The windows only open a little as we were on the 2nd floor so air con would have been a bonus.
