I had not noticed there was a £5 charge for car park. I feel strongly that unless the car park is shared or owned by another firm, the cost of the car parking should be included in the price. This hotel is in the middle of nowhere so 95% of guests will have a car. It should be included in the cost and not hidden as an extra.
There are two check in pads next to the car park payment kiosk. I tried three times, with two different cards to use the first machine & also pressed the \"help\" button which promised a member of staff would come to help. Nobody turned up so I tried the other machine which did work ok. I turned and walked 10 yards & there was a reception desk with a young lady hanging around behind the counter. Why subject guests to self check in when the receptionist is at her desk and why did she not come to help when i pressed the help button?
I stayed on a Thursday night & the bar was like a morgue. Not a sole to be seen

The property was welcoming to pets. They aren't set up for anyone requiring a shower seat. The room was a good size but the bed wasn't very comfortable. One of the rooms needed to be swapped because the toilet wouldn't flush. The staff were really helpful and friendly.

Excellent value for money. Large clean room and clean modern communal areas. Reception very cheerful and helpful. The only negative I can think of is there are no usb sockets in room and silicone around bath starting to get a bit scruffy.

Jasmine on the front desk and Stefan were an absolute credit to the hotel, both were very helpful and very well mannered and couldn’t do enough.
The food was pleasing to the eye and very tasty.
The room was adequate, it had everything you’d require for a stay.
I’d be happy to stay there again.

The extensive extermal scaffolding is a little off putting at first glance but installing solar panels is a good idea. First time there for five years and it has obviously been refurbished internally and is very clean. Car parking charges are a bit annoying and the machine to pay for it is not the easiest. It is still one of the most competitively priced decent hotels around Cambridge.

We were at tge hotel the week before and enjoyed the atmosphere and the welcoming staff, wgen we arrived the front desk staff rememberd us and we were met with a smile and friendly conversation. Eua or Ewe was on reception and she was helpful the week before and this time as well. The foid eas excellent. The only thing i would suggest is real popadoms with the curry and a biscuit in the room yo go with the cuppa. We will he staying again soon and maybe nrxt time use the spa.

We booked a double room but were given a twin room, the duvet had severe stains over it, no bath towels only hand towels & no tea bags. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Only positive was the receptionist, very polite & helpful.

Disappointing Experience.

Stayed one night on 23/07/22. Good points: breakfast was good quality;International staff friendly and helpful;large double room.
Bad points: the hotel is desperately in need of a makeover. Some public areas were very decrepit with peeling paper and damaged plaster. The dining area was very tired and a child's high chair, stored to one side, was frankly very dirty.I understand the need for hotels to try and recoup some of the revenue lost during Covid, but at £159 per night this simply wasn't worth it. BW Signature Collection? Really? I'm afraid that it's unlikely I will return.

A small hotel with golf course, next to main road.

Room is quite small but clean. No aircond. Hotel provided a fan that helps in a hot wave days. Breakfast is good, hot food and sufficient. We booked to stay here as there is a golf course attached, and it's quite handy. I won't stay for dinner though, average menu and services. Found couple local pubs nearby.

Lack of housekeeping

The ambiance was pleasing enough, nice location, spacious room and well laid out. Dissatisfied with no housekeeping services during our 2 night stay meaning our beds were not made, bathroom not cleaned, shortages on tea making facility, tissues and the like, bins not emptied etc. told to bag up our rubbish and dirty towels and place outside room. No plastic bags were provided. All of this by management under the guise of less face to face contact with staff. My money is good so should this basic service. Not acceptable otherwise a decent hotel let down by this.

Got an upgrade which was a welcome surprise. Room was clean, needs modernising but overall ok. Would have been nice to have more vegetarian or vegan options for breakfast. Traditional fry up was what you expected but would have been nice to have seen meat free alternative sausages.

Most agreeable staff all around but perhaps not quite enough of them certainly in housekeeping.
Our room was in need of updates particularly the bathroom which had seen better days and needed some attention to the standard of cleaning. The rest of the room was absolutely fine it was quiet with comfy beds.
The hotel is spacious and modern it's facilities are a plus, there's a nice bar and restaurant.
I no longer play golf but it appears popular with those who do.
All in all we enjoyed our stay.

When I go to bar hill always had the spa & swimming pool which enjoy but that was not open rooms are very dated staff was marvellous food as gone down it’s a shame always enjoyed my stay

The staff were wonderful but the condition of the rooms is very poor, I could only comment on the superior rooms but they were very dated and the shower/bath is a catastrophe. I hear they are going to modernize the hotel, I might try again after that but not until it is complete.

Quick, easy booking. Comfortable bed, good size tv.
Disappointments: no hairdryer in the room.
As this was a last minute booking, I didn’t pack my phone charger plug (had the car charger). I was hoping there would be a spare plug kept at Reception but there wasn’t.
When I discovered there was no hairdryer the next morning, I went downstairs to reception room ask but there was no time to wait for one as I had to leave, so left with wet hair.

Probably the best BW facility I’ve stayed at. Good staff, clean and good evening meal. Not a fault of this location, but buffet breakfasts are always grim. Barely warm food, which must be boarder line acceptable to the minimum temperature requirement by environmental health.

Needs an update! Sauna spa and pool closed, sink in the bath room was stained. Even the TV in the bar didn’t work!
Breakfast was ok, but there was a lot of flies around. Evening meal was disappointing, a lot of warmed up frozen food seemingly, fish n chips seemed the best choice. But pizzas were not fresh and were burnt, baked Camembert came with one slice of a baguette, when our guest asked for another slice they wanted to charge.
Staff were all friendly and tried their best.
Not a four star hotel, but it didn’t stop us from having a good time.

The hotel is being updated but was all tidy and very clean. The bar was good.
My only disappointment was the breakfast. Pretty uninspiring and poor variety and poor coffee from a machine. If you just want a straight-up fry up then you’re probably ok but not worth a tenner! Save your money and go out!
Otherwise a good stay.

We were attending the Cambridge Festival- so only slept in hotel but what time we did spend here, it was a nice experience and a lovely place to be.
Only difficulty we had was the sat nav would not direct us there. It turns out the roads had changed but rang the hotel and it took us to where we needed to go. Very nice hotel staff

Ground Floor Family Room was Fine

Good hotel - a little way out of town (15 to 20 mins drive - but found easy parking for £8 a day on on road Display & Display near Newnham College).

Disappointing that swimming pool / spa is closed. Stayed in room 207 - a ground floor family room which was clean and spacious. Close to motorway but noise didn't intrude as kept window closed and good aircon.

Maybe a little dated - but in a comfortable way.

Sue in the restaurant was lovely. Breakfast a bit of a let down. Gym is a bit basic. Golf course looked amazing but didn't bring my clubs and had my two young daughters with me. If the swimming pool had been open this would have raised into it a clear 4 star hotel for me. But other than the golf course it's not flashy.

For what I paid on an early booking it was a bargain.

Did hear a guy wanting to change his room at reception but we had nothing to complain about.

Only stayed one night so it was fine for our requirements. Staff friendly and helpful and reception area nice. Room was okay. We were advised in advance there was no air con but there was a fan in the room which helped as we stayed during the very hot weather. Free parking and you can get a bus into town from Tesco which is just up the road
