Well the good thing was the tv worked ok!! The lift broken, breakfast room closed, fire sensor stolen, carpets filthy, walls damp, fire instructions missing, drawers in desk missing, wardrobe a peg on the back of the door, bed so flat that impossible to sleep for more than a couple of hours! Staff invisible at checkout! Save your money and sleep on the beach - this place is the pits!!!!

Got to the hotel and got told we had a twin room rather than a double the place was riddled with damp and a lift that was out of order meaning we had to carry the luggage up four flights of stairs and there wasnt any other fire exit apart from the way we got up and its next to not so nice flats with youngsters smoking weed and drinking and shouting till early hours of the morning. My opinion the hotel needs a complete referb

The hotel is in need of some upkeep and the stairs to the rooms could be cleaner. We stayed in room 22. The view was wonderful. Floor to ceiling windows x 2 looking out in to the sea. Location was great with 24 hour parking for £11 across the street.

Close to everything! Easy walking distance from the train station, minutes from the town centre and beach. My daughter and I have stayed here twice now and we had the same twin room, which is perfect to crash after crazy golf, fun in the sea, shopping and dining! The receptionist was nice and polite, and although we didn’t eat or drink at the hotel I could see a good selection of beverages behind the bar, and the breakfast room looked nice. For the price, this is a great option for a budget getaway. We will come to stay again, thank you!

Worst sleep in a long time. Blaring bar until 2 in the morning both on Friday and Saturday night. Broken window in our room meant it would not close properly to keep out the noise. 4 flights up some very decrepit stairs to our room. We understand the hotel is due to be completely refurbished. We wish it had closed before we booked!

A big thanks to Kadim who was absolutely wonderful and helpful re parking (and ideas for future visits to avoid the hefty 2 hours parking outside hotel), adapting to my awkwardness at breakfast and just being genuinely friendly. Pictures on app are not reflcted in the actual rooms. Looked stylish and elegant in app, was dated and in need of some repairs. Cracked tiles in bathroom, cracks on bath and toliet cistern, window handle was so loose I was worried about pulling window shut when we ventured out for a walk. Strange configuration as well where the door to the room opened into the hall way rather than into the room. Was obvious when we went in. Bathroom light cord literally in the middle of the dorway.
Did it do it’s job? Yes it was a room for the night, but do not consider it was a value for money.

Was ok .. 👌 but we felt a little expensive for what it was to just sleep. But we didn't explore the hotel fully so cannot comment but it's in a great location and the hotel itself was good. Just the room 2 was a little needed of TLC.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Where do I even start?
•No lift, despite the building having multiple floors. To make matters worse, there was just an old mattress blocking where the lift should be.
•No air-conditioning, which made the room extremely uncomfortable.
•Walls were dirty, and the room in general was dated and grubby.
•The hallway signage to the room was barely visible or helpful.
•TV was tiny—honestly, you’d get a better viewing experience from your phone.
•No bedside table, and the bed kept sliding toward the filthy wall.
•The toilet was so close to the sink, it was nearly impossible to sit properly.
•The bathroom had no door handle, the hook was falling off, and tiles were coming loose.
•There were holes in the walls and crumbling plaster throughout the hallway.
To top it all off, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable, and I could feel the springs poking through. I barely managed 3 hours of sleep and ended up driving home at 6 a.m. just to get proper rest.

I thought this hotel offered a good value stay in Hastings. It provides everything you need and is in a great location, less than 10 minutes from the station and right on the seafront.
I think the room would benefit from some updating - my mattress was uncomfortable and a little threadbare - however, the view from the window and balcony of the sea was beautiful!

Great location and sea view from the top-floor en-suite room, which was clean and pleasant despite the lack of a functioning lift, but on day 2 there was no water at all - no shower, no taps, nothing. Staff were obviously attempting to deal with the problem but did not communicate with guests, and could do nothing to help me as I had to leave to catch a train without having a wash, which was not a nice feeling.

Usually I have a great stay here. This time I can only say average because the accommodation lost water and I not able to shower in the morning, flush the toilet during the night or have a tea or coffee due to a faulty kettle in the room. The sleep in the comfy bed saved it.

Rooms are basic, clean and comfortable. Staff were excellent. THe room was very cold heating was not good enough for the size of the room but the main problem was they turn the central heating off at night and at 10am so it becomes freezing cold. Got the front desk to turn it back on at 10am, which didn't help much.
There is not front desk after 10pm so when we return from our evening out not hope of any wrmth in the room! We complained about this on checkout and were told it is because the owner controls the heating from London.
I have never had this problem before, even in some of the cheapest hotels (I have stayed in some very cheap hotels).
Avoid until they upgrade the heating.

Very pleasantly surprised after reading some reviews. We had rooms 16 and 22 which were both large, had sea views and were quiet. I would say, which others have, the stairs are quite steep! You would definitely need to ask for a lower floor room if you have any issue with stairs.
The rooms were both nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable. In room 16, the bedside lights remained on even when the switch was turned off which was odd. The bathrooms were clean but a little tired. I would definitely stay here again! Great price for a great stay!

Our experience at this hotel was mixed. The location was good, the staff were friendly, but as a whole it was disappointing. The room was not particularly clean, wallpaper was hanging off areas of the wall. One of our widows could not be closed fully so a draught and more importantly noise came in from outside. The shower room, wc was rather difficult to use as it was so small. One of the bedtop lamps and the lamp above the shower room mirror didn't work. Also cleaning staff were speaking loudly outside our room early in the morning. The bed was comfy though...

Had the pleasure of spending the night in a fantastic room overlooking the sea from a balcony. The only downside is the lack of parking, which you have to pay for, and the restriction of staying only two hours for over 6 pounds. The staff is extremely welcoming and skilled.

Dreadful! TV didn’t work in two rooms I was given, however third time lucky! WiFi didn’t work at all. Hotel very tired and dated, furniture looks like it has been rescued from a skip. The noise of banging bins, a bin truck at 5.40am, drunks, seagulls (overflowing bins) made for a rubbish sleep. There is no lift so carrying bags/case up 6 flights of stairs wasn’t pleasant - changing rooms three times and doing this without a single offer of help wasn’t a good experience. Female receptionist rude and witnessed her being disrespectful to her male colleague. Permanent notice on reception to say ‘back in 10 mins’ - was there for two days! I left after one night - was originally booked for 2. Wouldn’t refund one night! There is a crap coffee machine in reception - you can have a crsp coffee for £3….bargain!

I didn’t use the TV because it was hilariously small and awkward. I would stay here again. I recommend getting a room with a balcony as it gives a great view and it seems like they were all on the second floor (or first floor for uk residents.). I forgot to take a picture of the bathroom and I regret that because even with the small room the bathroom was spacious enough that it had a full size shower stall.

This is a lovely hotel in Hastings. The location is perfect - right on the seafront, but set back which reduces the noise from the road and walking distance to the old Town. It is a classic Georgian building and beautifully refurbished with lovely large comfortable rooms, complete with fridge and large screen tv. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We have stayed in Hastings many times over 15 years and this is our favourite hotel.

Our room was clearly not used for any pictures used in the web site . Very disappointed for my birthday weekend. Wouldn't stay there again. Very tired no attention to detail in any repairs

Disappointing stay. The standard double room was small, not properly clean, uncomfortable bed and pillows. Lacking of maintenance in general. The fan in the bathroom way too noisy and the bedside table light not sufficient. The only good thing was the balcony and see views but overall, definitely not worth paying £125. I wouldn't have paid more than £60 per night.

Very disappointed stay in The Lansdowne.
The hotel is on Hastings sea front. It looks tired and in poor condition externally. The internal lobby area is sterile and unwelcoming. The reservation staff were friendly enough. The internal decor was appalling- paint pealing from the walls, many damp stains and water marks. The aroma in the stairwell was overwhelmingly damp and unpleasant. The carpets were filthy.
The rooms were slightly better but again looking closely at the walls and skirting, multiple scuffs and smudges were apparent.
Overall, this hotel deserves a ranking of one star. It needs a full internal revamp and needs a damp course treatment.
I would not stay again.

Didn’t like anything about it apart from young man at reception, who was extremely helpful in a rediculous place. No breakfast, you don’t do them anymore, no water in machine to drink for our medication in the morning.

Very disappointed, had expected better, was told no available breakfast as not worth opening kitchen, staircases drap and in need of repair and decoration, the lift that could on take ONE person had seen better days. With the right investment cold be one of the best hotels in Hastings. .this hotel and staff not what i was expecting.

Nice Pleasant Hotel
We loved the stay in the Hotel. The only downside was the lift. We had to go into it as singles. Took ages to get up and down. Also the window safety lock was broken. A good job we had no small kids with us. Overall a pleasant hotel and friendly staff. I also believe the breakfast should have been included at the price we paid for the night. We also had the pleasure of the local winos screaming and shouting and fighting below our window.
