Casa Mar is the most charming little resort perched above a very secluded beach outside of Paraty. It felt like we had our own semi private villa complete with staff who cooked breakfast to order each day. The beach below was a great place to hire a private boat tour to the nearby beaches, swimming, snorkelling and lunch and saw turtles on our way back. The use of the kayaks for guests was a bonus. We paddled over to the restaurant nearby for lunch one day. We saw dolphins in the distance from the deck at the resort. This was a perfect place for the end of our 24 day journey throughout Brazil. It has a beautiful view of the water and is a great location to enjoy the sunrise.

One of the highlights was the nearby beach—it was wonderfully secluded, far from the usual crowds, providing a peaceful and private escape. The sunrises were absolutely breathtaking, with vibrant colors lighting up the sky and reflecting off the calm water. It was a perfect way to start the day. I loved that the complimentary use of kayaks on the property. My boyfriend and I made use of them every day we could: to watch the sunrise from the water or to just paddle over to a nearby beach bar.
The honor-system snack bar was a nice touch too.
This place was exactly what I was looking for after a couple of hectic days at carnaval in Rio. Great location within an easy drive of Paraty, great view overlooking the fishing and excursion boats in the bay, outstanding breakfast and very clean rooms.

Beautiful boutique hotel, a perfect setting for a tranquil stay outside the lively town of Paraty. Exceptional views and a very relaxed atmosphere made you feel completely at home. The surroundings were safe and the owners speak English - they were incredibly helpful organising transfers etc. Lovely breakfast and honesty bar set-up works really well. Everything was clean and the decor is beautifully finished. 10/10 and I'm already planning my next visit!

The hotel is extremely beautiful, thoughtful, well appointed with the best view of the sunset and moon rise. Close to beautiful water where you can take out a kayak (for free) and paddle to surrounding islands and beaches. The owners were incredible, they helped me book activities and made me feel as if I was at home. The staff was more than friendly, they were the perfect hosts. I will absolutely come back to Casa Mar Paraty, it was a dream experience from start to finish.

Beautiful surroundings, calm, private, close to the beach. Fantastic breakfasts, fabulous rooms with bamboo balcony overlooking the gardens or the sea. Extremely good natured helpful staff - especially Gustavo - one of the owners. Beautiful pool on the top of the hills overlooking the beach and rain forest. Cannot fault it - this was truly a beautiful place to stay with lovely staff, excellent rooms beautiful location. We saw a school of dolphins in the bay, parrots and humming birds in the luscious gardens. Quiet, peaceful, a real tonic - Thank you

Gustavo the owner ( who speaks great English) was fantastic, he really made our stay very painless by arranging transportation to and from the hotel in addition to booking fun activities during our stay. All his recommendations were excellent.

Great little Pousada, hotel grounds (pool, seating areas, breakfast areas) are stunningly beautiful. The staff are lovely and cannot do enough to help to you. Breakfast was delicious. Overall a great place to stay if you want to relax. It is approx 10km from the centre of Paraty and costs around 50 reals in a taxi. There are a couple of limited options for food within walking distance but for further choice you will need to venture into the centre of Partaty. The only downside is that the rooms are quite basic considering the price and compared to the other areas of the hotel.

Great hotel with Very Helpful and Gracious Hosts
We rented a car and traveled from Rio to Paraty (specifically Praia Grande, which is where Casa Mar is located). It is basically a straight shot from Rio - BR-101. It couldn't be easier and safer. For folks who said e should hire a driver, in retrospect that was some ridiculous advice. The road is as nice or nicer than highways in the States. The hotel is directly off the main road so super easy to get to. Plus, seeing that the hotel is not in the city center of Paraty (a blessing), and that there are wonderful beaches to explore within 20km, having a car greatly enhances the experience. One note of caution on the road, beware of speed cameras on BR-101 - they are everywhere.

Tudo perfeito aos minimos detalhes. Café da manhã impecável, localização excelente para relaxar, respirar e sair da muvuca da cidade. Importante pontuar que é um hotel boutique, mais rústicos e ambiental, então se você não gosta desse tipo de viagem, não é para você, mas para mim, foi excelente. Me senti bem confortável. Detalhe importante que, por ficar perto da rodovia, no fim de semana fica com barulho de algumas motos passando rápido, porém o hotel oferece tampão de ouvido, e se você for como eu que não tem sono leve, não será problema!

Wir hätten uns kein besseres Hotel in Paraty vorstellen können!Wunderschöne Frühstücksterasse mit Blick auf das Meer-Köstliches reichhaltiges Frühstück. Sehr gute Tipps für Restaurants und Ausflugsmöglichkeiten in der Umgebung. Das gesamte Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und die kleine Bucht in der das Hotel liebt ist malerisch und liegt abseits vom Trubel in paraty. Wir würden dieses Hotel sofort wieder buchen.

Superbe séjour dans cet hôtel. La localisation est un peu éloignée du centre de Paraty mais très facilement accessible en Taxi. Le cadre est magnifique, la plage très tranquille et la 2e plage cachée vaut le détour. Chambre très belle et confortable et personnel aux petits soins et très gentils. Nous avons passé 3 jours paradisiaques.

1 estacionamento com péssima logística ( não haviam vagas suficientes, portão manual e apenas no período do dia tinha uma pessoa ocasionalmente disponível para abrir o portão).
2 banheiro com alguns itens em falta ( toalheiro de banho, bancada de pia, creme hidratante, toca de banho e por incrível que pareça não havia box de banheiro apenas uma cortina que diga-se de passagem nem sabia que ainda existia)

A pousada é linda, bem decorada, quarto amplo, roupas de cama e de banho excelentes. A equipe é muito solícita e simpática. Precisa estar de carro para poder aproveitar a cidade de Paraty e redondezas. Para o acesso à praia, são quase 100 degraus. A praia não é das melhores para o banho de mar. Pontos de melhoria: a acústica da pousada pode incomodar as pessoas com o sono mais leve e o quarto poderia ter mais tomadas.

O lugar é super bonito, perto de uma praia de pescadores e do restaurante são franscico, o local fica afastado do centro. O quarto e o banheiro são bem limpos. Como os quartos são perto da área de refeições e da piscina de manhã tem um pouco de barulho. Tem bastante mosquito leve repelente.

Dá pra perceber que pensam em todos os detalhes da estadia A pousada é muito bonita, em especial a área da piscina. A localização também é muito boa, em local tranquilo e silencioso, com acesso ao centro histórico em uns 15 minutos de carro.

A pousada Casa Mar Paraty é sensacional!! Tem uma vista incrível e o ambiente é extremamente aconchegante. Os donos da pousada (conheci o Gustavo e a mãe dele) são super atenciosos e simpáticos, e deixaram a gente super a vontade. Eu recomendo para aqueles que querem ficar em um lugar tranquilo e muito romântico. Foi uma excelente escolha para a comemoração de 1 ano de casado com minha esposa.

My husband and me spent 4 night at Casa Mar after our marriage. It was a perfect stay. The pousada is beautiful in all details, rooms are perfect, breakfast very nice and staff very friendly. I am sure we chose the best place to stay. The pousada is close to nice and calm beaches and just 10 minutes drive to Paraty historical center. Thank you to all team.
