This charming hotel is situated directly beside the sea on the south coast of Madeira, just 50 m from the wonderful beach. From its cosy rooms guests can enjoy stunning view over the crystal blue Atlantic as well as of the picturesque village of Ponta do Sol.

The surrounding area houses a number of shopping facilities and entertainment venues, while the coffee shops and bars that line the promenade are the perfect final destination for a leisurely evening stroll. The venue itself also boasts an air-conditioned restaurant with a spacious terrace where one can sample delicious seafood, sip white wine and enjoy the mesmerizing views and the soothing breezes.

This is a fantastic hotel! Check-in was quick, easy, with friendly service. The hotel was nicely decorated and furnished, with lots of seating. The room was absolutely clean, comfortable, spacious, and again very well furnished and decorated. It was stocked with plenty of towels, essentials, coffee/tea, etc. The balcony was nice with two chairs and small table, overlooking the street, beach and water. The breakfast selection was plentiful and delicious! I didn't stay long enough to be able to use the pool and spa. Overall, fantastic stay and I would recommend!

We're really pleased with our 2 night stay at Enotel. We had a sea view room with a balcony and we highly recommend it. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evenings taking in the sunset and the sound of the rolling waves. One night the sunset was a spectacular display of orange, pink, and blue!

The room itself was clean and spacious. We found the beds and pillows to be very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure in the shower was great. Check-in and check-out were easy and the underground parking is extremely helpful as the beach-front street is paid parking and fills up quickly. The parking garage is tight but manageable, especially with a smaller car.

One evening we made use of the pool, sauna, and imam. It was great to have these on site to relax following an afternoon of hiking.

In sum, we'd definitely stay here again!

The hotel had an amazing location right on the beach. It is walking distance to small restaurants and shops in the town of Porto do Sol. Staff and manager were very helpful with any guest needs and providing travel information for the island.

It is quiet but best to stay on lower floors between the restaurant and the garage. The parking garage was convenient but only way to gaurantee a space is to arrive before 6 pm. If arrive later than 6 pm guest may have to find a space on the street. The breakfast had a good variety but the dinner did not. Dinner was too costly (30 euros) if not included in reservation for limited selection.

The staff were nice. The breakfast was included and had a variety of fresh food daily. Especially appreciated the drying line in the shower so bathing suits could be hung up to dry. The only downside was the parking situation: a very small underground garage that didn't say it was full (first come, first served), and street parking was next to impossible to find, unless you parked before 6 pm or after 9:30 pm, as many people come to see the sunset (which IS beautiful). No street or underground parking reserved for guests at the hotel. Except for the parking difficulties, a very nice and relaxing stay.

We loved staying at Enotel Sunset Bay. Ponta do Sol is a fantastic location on Madeira. The hotel is right in front of the ocean and beach and all rooms have ocean views.We stayed on the 4th floor in the seaview rooms with balcony. The rooms are very spacious, clean and well-equiped. The 4th floor is where the roof top deck is located. It was a great place to soak in some sunshine and relax after a day of hiking. The indoor pool was also a bonus.
The breakfast buffet is excellent, with lots of great choices. There is free underground parking, but it is somewhat difficult to get into and can get full.
Overall, this is an excellent hotel and I highly recommend.

Very clean and people friendly. Our room needed bathroom maintenance. We had loose tiles and a leaking sink. The breakfast buffet offered many selections. However, the hot items were not hot on one of our two days there. Kitchen staff more than willing to accommodate. Parking in the underground garage is limited, you may have to park in a protected area in a tunnel near the hotel (not a problem). There is a great little bar/restaurant across the street right on the beach, which is good for watching sunset and I would definitely recommend the food.

The location next to the ocean is a bonus. Listening to the waves in the morning and evening brings great serenity. The staff is also very friendly. There was one woman in particular that made it even more enjoyable. I wished I had asked for her name. She helped me picked out some guided tours for the time I was there. She even wished me a happy birthday before I left. It’s those little thoughtful moments that makes it memorable. When I return, I will definitely go back there.

Fabulous Ponta Da Sol.

We stayed here for the first 3 nights of our stay in Madeira, lovely hotel with great views out to the Atlantic Ocean. Hotel is situated on the promenade of Ponta Da Sol and takes up about 2/3rds of it. It’s been built in a sympathetic style to fit in with the local area. Breakfast was included in our room rate and we found a good selection of hot and cold food. We never used the indoor pool but did you’d the interface on the 4th floor on a couple of occasions. Some nice places to eat just around the corner on ‘Bar Street’, the Beach Bar is also a nice place to hang about during the day and early evening. Best sunset on the island and you don’t even need to leave your room. Perfect base to explore the island.

The view from the hotel is nice and there are some great restarants behind the hotel.
My complaint is that my room felt dirty...it had been cleaned but felt greasy and my skin was so itchy from the bed...I am not sure what was causing it but it was noticably different with this hotel vs the others I stayed at on Madeira island. Even though the view was nice, i looked forward to leaving the hotel from right after check in to the time i left.

Hotel is excellent. Fantastic location on the beach. All rooms are large, modern, clean, with beautiful sea views. Indoor pool, sauna and Turkish baths are a nice touch. Breakfast is excellent but they need a second coffee machine to reduce the coffee line up. Great service and the buffet dinners are worth the extra money.

Staff are very friendly and polite eager to help etc. Hotel air con was good pool is heated and lovely. The steam room and sauna are off due to COVID which was a little disappointing. There was a performance in the hotel which I partially missed I was disappointed the hotel didn’t tell me before about it. Will stay there again

Had a nice warm welcome followed by a clean, fresh and spacious double-bed room - six comfy nights sleep-lovely mattress support. Buffet breakfast was just the ticket after a quick early morning work out in their 2nd floor gym (Buffet choice: Drinks, Fruits, fried full breakfasts, cold meats, cheese & soft fresh bread, etc). Lounge an afternoon away on the sun rooftop beds (4 pairs) with shaded side-seating for the sun-shy. Just kick back, read a book and relax in peace until the sonic-pleasing chimes of the town church clock strike nearby. Food was lovely, well displayed and the freshly made omelettes, superbly made by a smiling chef, were gastronomically delightful :0)

I strongly suggest a balcony room to get an awesome view of the sunset on the horizon and watch happy people, life and sunny days come & go by. Great!

We were pleasantly surprised by how swish and modern this seafront hotel was. Our room was large with 2 big beds, a lovely bathroom, a small fridge and a small balcony overlooking the stoney beach. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast offered a huge range of well-prepared buffet items. Without exception, staff were friendly and helpful. Ponta do Sol is small but has just enough restaurants, bars and a supermarket. We'd come back again because of the hotel.

Good alternative to the larger resorts

We stayed 3 nights in November. Ponta do Sol is an attractive town and the hotel has a great position on the seafront. The rooms are spacious and all have sea views. Breakfast was good and the buffet dinner OK but there are also other restaurants nearby. Car parking was easy and the staff always very helpful. There were renovations underway though and the room we had booked was not available on the first night. This was annoying as we had paid extra for a room with a balcony but we were offered a complementary meal as compensation. Overall a good choice.

Overall it was a positive experience. It was disappointing that they did not tell us about the concert in front of our room that went on until 4 am. It would not have been a problem if we did not have to get up and 7 am the next day. We did not sleep. We felt that the hotel should have given us the courtesy of letting us know prior. When we called the front desk at 2 am and 3 am, no one would answer. Other than that, positive experience, great property and location.

Nice hotel in a picturace place

The hotel exceeded expectations. For very modest money, everything is practically impeccable. Very comfortable large room with everything you need. Excellent plumbing, comfortable large bed, balcony overlooking the ocean ...

The beach opposite with a very large pebble, but in the appropriate shoes will be quite comfortable. But there are covered showers the opportunity to change clothes. At the beach there are wooden decking. In the hotel itself there is an indoor swimming pool with slightly heated water and a sauna here. The temperature can be adjusted independently, bringing it to 80 degrees, which is very good for southern Europe.
Breakfasts are plentiful and rather good.
The hotel has its own underground parking, on which day usually there are seats. In the evening, of course, more difficult. But it seems that there all park just along the street opposite without any payment, although the parking lots are. And in the tunnel leading to a dead end.
I can safely recommend.

Lovely hotel facing the beach in a small bay.
Public transport is not exactly frequent and also takes time to reach
destinations, Needed taxis quite often which incur costs.
The beach itself is very rocky so advise to have aqua footwear for swimming in the enclosed bay.
Madeira is a lovely island with lots to do and see. I recommend it

Good Hotel

I spent 7 nights in the hotel in May. Good location. The car park is narrow but you can find spaces in the tunnel next to the hotel. Breakfast was great. I saw feedback complaining about the wifi. I had strong signal in my room.
The only downside is the soundproofing. You can hear people walking on the corridor and you can hear the TV from the neighbour room.

Nice hotel facing the ocean

My husband and i enjoyed this hotel in a great location facing the ocean. The area is less busy than Funchal and has several great options for food and restaurants. We liked that the rooms were large and clean with a contemporary esthetic. The only thing we did not like as much was the food at the hotel restaurant. The quality of the breakfast buffet was not any better than a North American continental breakfast and the dinner buffet with mediocre food at 18 Euros per person was too expensive. This was not a real issue as the neighboring restaurants were all very good.

The hotel staff are very pleasant and very helpful. The room was very big with a lovely view of the sea. It's very quiet in Ponta do Sol but there are plenty of nice places to eat and drink. It's all very reasonably priced. It's a great place to stay if you just want a relaxing chilled holiday. Shame about the pebbled beach. You can get a taxi to Cahletta where there is a lovely sandy beach. You can walk up to the Levadas in about 45 mins but it's a steep climb up the main road to the start. We'll worth it though.

Surprisingly impressed with this out of Funchal ho

Excellent Hotel, fantastic staff, very friendly and full of local information.
This proved to be invaluable.
Our room was on the first floor, with a great balcony looking out onto the sea.
We spent many an afternoon here soaking up the place.
The hotel is located right on the front with a few bars and restaurants nearby.
Good swimming pool, although small was perfectly adequate.
Would definitely return to this lovely hotel away from the hustle of Funchal

Only stay if you're deaf, during Fiesta


No sleep is possible during Fiesta as extremely loud music goes on all night until 4 or 5 am. Moved to Enotel Golf Hotel in mountains where it rained non-stop. Ruined our holiday, won't go there again.

The stay at this hotel was very good. Staff, both restaurant and cleaning, was excellent. The food was ample and very edible.
Our child (5 years old) was treated extremely well, including having the use of the swimming bath at any time we required it. She actually went without a life-saver on the last day of the visit - she was extremely excited.
The garage was great for the car.

Perfect location.

Ponte do Sol is the perfect village to stay for the quieter holiday. The Enotel Baia is elegantly positioned on the flat promenade, with lovely views over the ocean. Very welcoming local people mix happily with the small number of tourists. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the hotel, as all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was large, well equipped, with comfortable chairs, and large bed, and very clean. The restaurant and food was excellent, especially the pancakes and porridge at breakfast. Would recommend as first class hotel. Thankyou so much for such a wonderful stay.

Beautiful Hotel & Amazing Location

Hotel is on the beach front and has beautiful views- you can see the ocean from your bed! The rooms are very big. Staff extremely helpful and always smiling. Lovely indoor pool and sauna as well as a nice rooftop terrace with sunbeds. Food was very nice too.

I highly recommend visiting the restaurant and bar at Estalagem Da Ponta Do Sol as well (on top of the cliff) incredible views and amazing parties on Friday and Saturday!!!

Had a 5 day B/B break here Feb 2014. Lovely Hotel with very friendly staff in a nice location.
Our only downfall was that at breakfast hot food seemed to be pre-cooked and had gone dry and not very warm, although we went down early.

THAT MEMEBER OF STAFF DID NOT SEEM TO KNOW A LOT FOR SOMEONE THAT WORKED THERE

Excellant Hotel

Excellant hotel in a great small seaside village. Perfect for a couple. All the rooms have a seaview but ask for a standard with a balcony.
My only two complaints are (1) that very little was available in the way of information in the rooms about the hotel and its facilities but the staff were extremely helpful. And (2) most 4 star hotels (and many with a lesser rating) now have free WiFi access throughout the hotel whereas the Enotel charged 10 euros per stay and it was only available in the hotel lobby.
Apart from that we had a comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable stay in Ponta do Sol.
