The room we had was terrible. The AC, TV are not working. The finally the toilet flush stopped working. We reported it and the said they will come to check so we waited so we finally went down to talk to them. It was already nite time when we found out they will not be able to fix they decided to move us to another room. Is was very inconvenient because they didn’t address the issue right away.
The breakfast was good and the area has a nice view of the mosque.

Great locations near mosques and museums

The hotel is old but recently renovated, rooms very comfortable, great location walking distance to many attractions. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lots of choices for a healthy and tasty breakfast on roof terrace with great view. Quiet, but in my room the curtains could not block the very strong streetlight outside my window which. made it hard for me to sleep

Ideally situated in the historic centre of Istanbul, a short walking distance from tramline, Topkapi Palace, Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar, Egyptian Bazaar and plenty of highly rated eateries, Hotel Saba was everything we could have wished for! Rooms are clean, bedding is top. Maybe a minor issue could be that the different options at the breakfast buffet don't get quickly topped up leaving guests with little choice 1 hour after opening?

WONDERFUL FIRST VISIT TO ISTANBUL

Hotel Saba was a perfect place for visiting Istanbul , very close to the Hippodrome and a great variety of cafes and restaurants. Staff very helpful with tour bookings and suggestions, directions and assistance.

Hotel Saba is in a great location. Close to everything. It is nice to be down a side street for less traffic and noise. There is a lot of construction, road repair, etc going around all of Istanbul. It is not noisy, but you must watch where you are walking. Breakfast was good. Nice view from the breakfast room. There is a small lift, so that is helpful with luggage. We had one night where we could hear the people in the next room. That was unfortunate but expected in the older buildings. Istanbul has gotten pretty expensive, Hotel Saba was a good value.

The location of the hotel was very convenient as it is only 3-4 minute walk to the blue mosque and you can walk to most places. Daily housekeeping was very good and the towels were changed daily. Staff were generally pleasant and helpful. Laundry service was fast. Breakfast was nice especially the scrambled eggs and fresh omelettes. My only criticism was that there was no trash can in the room (only a bathroom bin which was small). Also one night we had aggressive knocking on our door for no reason, presumably from some drunk guests, which made us feel unsafe. On the whole, we were happy with the room which was comfortable.

Really poor hotel in a very good spot. Close to everything. Too bad it is run down and poorly managed. Parking is a nightmare - if you're lucky you might find a spot behind the hotel but do not count on it.
Breakfast was the worst we had in 2 weeks of staying in a dozen different hotels all over the country.
The price was cheap, about $80 per night, but the conditions were barely above hostel level.

Wonderful location!! The blue mosque and Hagia Sophia are both a stones throw away!! Grand bazaar is about a 20 minute walk which is not too bad if you like to walk! (It is a bit of a hill). Train stations are also within 5 minute walk as well!

They are fairly clean! Their housekeepers cleaned our room really well!! And the A/C is strong and cold for after the long days! Wifi is good, signal isn’t great, so it’s not good for people that need to work while vacationing. (It might depend on which room you get, we were on the 1st floor). The breakfast wasn’t too bad, very basic breakfast but it is filling!! And the view cannot be beat!

One of the down side is that the cigarette smell permeates into the room intensely and it lingers sometimes. Nothing we could have done unfortunately because opening the window would make it worse. We didn’t think of complaining because it would go away at times. Growing up, my dad and sister are highly asthmatic (they weren’t with us) so I also grew up being sensitive to it as well so I could really notice them. If this is like you, this may not be a hotel for you. The room we book was a non smoking room but it didn’t matter.

In saying all of that, I do still recommend this hotel simply for its location!!!

This is a great place to stay. Howover, if you book in advance and are given a price in dollars and euro, make sure they charge you in dollars as the euro vs dollard amont may vary based on the exchange rate. I was given $342 for three nights but the amountcame to $350.amount may vary

The location was great. The rooms were awesome. The views were spectacular and the service was just the best. Onar the owner runs a fabulous hotel. He and the staff were superb. I cannot express how happy and lucky were were to have chosen a hotel with the best views and best staff anywhere. Just wake up look out your cave window or balcony and watch the air balloons the sunrise and the sunset. If you choose this hotel I promise you won’t have hotel envy you will be the envy. Many people walk by below us and took pictures of our hotel. A perfect stay and a GREAT authentic cave hotel. Room 9 has a great extra balcony with day bed tucked privately away in your own little cave with the BEST views. Thank , for such a lovely stay.

I very much enjoyed my brief stay at the hotel Saba. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially because I had booked the wrong dates, and arrived a day early according to the reservation. I was not put out onto the streets and for that I will be forever grateful.

The room was very comfortable, and I had a lovely view of the blue mosque and the sea, and the breakfast is really fantastic because it’s on the terrace which again has a lovely view.

It’s also in the heart of the Sultanahmet, which is where you want to be as a visitor. On my next trip to Istanbul, I will most definitely be staying here.

A Gem in the Heart of Istanbul

Originally intending to stay closer to the airport, we couldn't resist staying one more night in Istanbul, and we stumbled upon Hotel Saba at the last minute. We lucked out! This is a lovely hotel in an absolutely ideal location.

Our room included an enclosed porch area which offered breathtaking views of the iconic Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. We were so close It felt like we could reach out and touch these architectural marvels.

Inside, our room was well decorated and comfortable. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay, and we appreciated the thoughtful amenities provided. The delicious breakfast buffet served on the rooftop was a real treat. The panoramic views we enjoyed from this vantage point as we enjoyed our meal were breathtaking.

If you're looking for a sanctuary in the heart of Istanbul, with warm and hospitable staff, comfort, unparalleled views, perfect location, and an amazing breakfast, look no further than Hotel Saba.

The staff is nice and they try hard. The hotel is also conveniently located. Also, the breakfast is good. However, our power cut out and I got stuck in the elevator, and the internet/WiFi cut out for significant parts of two days. Some of this may have been behind the hotel’s control, but I’ve never experienced anything like it on any of my other trips to Istanbul. The room wasn’t always cleaned very well — with toilet paper not replaced and sheets and pillowcases left, even if they were dirty. I paid more than $100/night. And I had two rooms (for more than $200 per night). For a hotel with no gym and with this many problems, that is way overpriced. I previously stayed at a hotel near this one for only about $35 per night. The cheaper hotel was much, much nicer, cleaner and better. I stayed at this place because the reviews were off the charts. However, it was not a good stay. I have NEVER left a hotel review, but felt compelled to leave one here.

The highlight of this hotel is the location. If you are looking for a short stay in the city to explore Istambul this is your go-to property to stay! You are literally like 3 min walk to the Blue Mosque which makes it very central and easy to get to. We stayed in the family room which had a nice view to the mosque and it was spacious due to the balcony area (the room itself it’s not “wow” but served it’s purpose). Even better view you can find it at the rooftop 1 floor up where the breakfast is served, that was super nice as well! The food at the breakfast was very very basic though and not great quality/not many options so don’t expect much. The customer service is ok. One thing I didn’t like was the corridors area smelled a bit of cigarette but that didn’t affect our stay. I would stay here again due to how central it is and the value for money.

We stayed at the Saba Hotel from 8th to 12th Oct 2023, we had a wonderful experience at the Saba Hotel. The hotel is a few steps away from Aya Sophia, Topkapi, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Gran Bazhar...everything is really within walking distance and you will enjoy the peaceful silence during the night. Well-maintained and clean, the staff are very polite, helpful and kind especially Younus and Mustafa. Delicious breakfast in the morning on the rooftop terrace with a Blue mosque in the background is an amazing view we had every day. I am really pleased that I chose this excellent boutique hotel and enjoyed my time in the Istanbul Sultanahmet area, the tram station is only 5 to 7 minutes away which is another plus point to choosing this little Jem.
The only thing I can suggest is that a colour map should be provided about the area in the reception other than that our whole stay was excellent, definitely recommend this hotel who want to enjoy their stay with all the top main attractions in Sultanahmet area. Brilliant few days, thank you Saba Hotel.

Excellent service. Thank you

The front desk personal was excellent and the helper for the luggages was very helpful. I felt safe and felt like home. The personal were trying to give the best service and very knowledgeable of information. I was there for 8 days and I was very happy. The location was excellent. Very close to the blue mask and all the shopping center.

This is a great hotel with wonderful location and view. Be aware however the family room is not two rooms and there is only one room with 3 small beds squeezed inside. It’s listed at a family room however it is not. Go for the cheaper room as it will be the same room as the more expensive listing

Great hotel. Very clean and a friendly and very helpful staff. Outstanding breakfast options and excellent view from the top deck. The TV did not work.

Perfect location

Service was excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Only small issue, at 5 am call to prayer woke me up. Hotel does not keep out that noise. Ok is if you are an early Bird. Great location for attacions.

I had an exceptional stay at the hotel. The room and bathroom weren't only clean but I could see care had been taken with decorative finishes. I had issues with getting TV reception but staff were attentive to solve the problem. Breakfasts were a highlight and set me up for the day.The ONLY suggestion I have is maybe visitors could throw towels for washing on the floor rather than have clean ones every day.

The room was clean, with a comfortable bed and plenty of hot water in the walk in shower. The location could not have been better and the concierge was extremely helpful in booking excursions and his restaurant recommendations. Very pleased we chose Hotel Saba.

Ideal location for hitting the major sites

Tucked in a street right next to the Sultanahmet Square (aka hippodrome), Hotel Saba was easy to find and located within comfortable walking distance to the Topkapi Palace and all of the major mosques and museums.
The hotel staff were always nice and friendly. The breakfast buffet includes made-to-order eggs and a large spread of traditional Turkish breakfast items. The internet was decent as we watched the live World Cup games with only a few intermittent moments of buffering.
Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels, even the sheets replaced one time during the stay.
After checkout, Hotel Saba also let us leave our bags in the lobby as we wandered around the area before our evening flight. I would be happy to recommend this hotel to friends and family. We hope to return here for any future trips to Istanbul.

Basic but the location is perfect

The hotel did what we needed it to do! There are no bells and whistles here but the room was clean and beds were comfy. The room is small but it had 3 twin beds and everyone had a night stand. The bathroom was small but had nice fixtures. We had the room with water view and balcony views of the blue masque and Hagia sofia. The location was absolutely perfect. 8 minute walk to the tram line. 12-15 minute walk to grand bazaar, 3 minute to palace, Hagia sofia and blue masque. The breakfast was delicious. haziz mustafa for all your baclava needs was 5 minutes away and tons of restaurants also so so so close. The airport transportation was great. €90 round trip for 2 people.
