I booked this hotel for my daughter. Most disgusting hotel I have seen. Faulty electrics, mould in the fridge, horrible smells and looks nothing like on the photos.

The photos on your site are not representing the actual status of the rooms and the hotel. the rooms and the common areas are not clean. the room was having a very bad smell of cigarettes, sewerage and humidity.

They did not refund the money that I paid.

The hotel was in a very bad condition , broken electric sockets sticking out of the wall , very dirty rooms and beds lining yellow stain on pillows and a very revolting smell in the hotel ,very poor customer service , please stay away from this hotel i had to leave on the first night after booking 7 nights , no apologies no refund i took pictures of the room and showed it to them and asked for my money back i was told no refund because i paid with a card .please this hotel is a hotel from hell . as one of you customer this hotel should be removed from your website the photos are very misleading.

10 years ago, I stayed at this location and I loved it, but the owner or new one, let the property into disrepair. Very poor property and I do not believe the property is fit for living. The black toxic mold is filling the room. The toilet is overlapped by the sink !!!! the room is so cold and moist..

Miserable stay

I was in this hotel for 13 days with my family and it was miserable .
The bed sheets never been changed .
We were four in the room and the cleaner gave us three body towels and two hand towels and sometimes without hand towels and when i ask the cleaner about that she told me \" finish\".
The bathroom was full of fungi and the drainage didn't work normally.
The breakfast was ready plate and repeated.
The only two good things to tell about were the place of the hotel is near the the area of Sultan Ahmed and the staff was polite.

STAY AWAY - REALITY IS NOT LIKE POHOTS

This was awful. When we checked in around 10:00pm, we were shocked by the condition of the room. The smell of the mildew was suffocating, the room was extremely old and received no attention in ages.

The actual room had no resemblance to photos shown here.

We asked for a different room and the guy said there were none.

We were forced to go and look for a different hotel and move in the middle of the night.

We lost the money for a 5-night stay because it was nonrefundable (surprise surprise).

Stone Hotel stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the Stone Hotel. Breakfast on the terrace with a view of the Kucuk Aya Sofia and the sea was beautiful. We also liked the garden and courtyard which was peaceful to sit in during the early evening.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was able to extend my stay by one night and for us to stay in the same hotel room as I had accidentally booked with one night too short because I got the day of the return flight to UK wrong. Hotel very flexible and amenable which was excellent.

Good central location which made it easy to walk to Sultanahmet to see the fountain in the day and illuminated at night and to visit Blue Mosque (Mavi Cami).

I would definitely stay here again and recommend this for holiday makers to stay there.

Well placed to visit most of the sights that you would wish to see on foot. Grand bazaar, 15-20 minute casual walk. Plenty of good restaurants around the area and the pricing was mostly very reasonable for excellent food.

I can't say enough about the location; this hotel is near every main attraction - walking distance away. The rooms are just like what's shown in the pictures - nothing more, nothing less. The only downside I experienced with this hotel is that the walls are so thin you could hear every little sound; you could hear people talking from outside, elevator doors and room doors slamming, and even guess talking in their rooms. If you could block out the noise and are not looking for too much of a fancy hotel, this is a great place to stay.

The hotel has an ideal location. 3 minutes away from Blue Mosque and very easy to find.
Facilities are a bit dated and hotel requires some maintenance.
But you pay for what you get and the £64 for two nights was well worth it imo.

I'd go back as a single traveller not fussed about standards. But wouldnt book it for a family holiday .

Just minutes away from the main attractions, shops, restaurants, transport. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is not bad, enough variety to keep you going for a while. The room is of a fair size. I had a single room but with a double bed. The rooms just need a bit of attention and tidying. They have a lovely garden and a roof terrace with views out to the sea. Overall a fairly comfortable stay.

Beautiful place to stay and incredible staff

The room was just as it was described on the website, a good deal for the price and a view of the sea. The biggest take away for us was the helpfulness of the staff. The night we arrived, we left a jacket in the taxi. It was a nice jacket, expensive and a gift from family. We thought it lost. The front desk guys went out of their way to look up the taxi ID number on the security footage, call a friend who worked with the company at the airport, and arrange it to be returned to us.

The breakfast was a good Turkish breakfast buffet in a cozy rooftop terrace.

Great location! The positive was that they helped me track down my phone after leaving it in the airport transport vehicle! Other than than that we thought service was average. We thought the bed was extremely hard and the shower head didn't work properly. Not a bad experience, just average.

Nice hotel with terrace that has a sea view

This hotel is not fancy but its clean, quiet and close to all the main sites. Its 5 minutes walk from blue mosque. The breakfast is also very basic but it didnt matter too much. The terrace is quite small but has an amazing view of the sea. The rooms are air conditioned and cleaned daily. Bathroom facilities also very clean. Theres a fridge and kettle in the room. We asked for a triple room and were given with a double and single bed. Single bed matress was awful but they changed it when we asked. The staff were friendly and helped us to book taxis or to locate places we wanted to visit. Overall its fairly basic but a clean hotel located in a quiet area and close to all the main sites.

Convenient location

Adequate hotel in the old part of the city. Handy walk to the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque etc. Delightfully tacky though not as opulent as other comparatively priced boutique hotels I have stayed at in the area. Room getting a bit tired eg water damage on ceiling and some holes in walls. But generally good.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Stone Hotel. One of the best locations to stay in Sultan Ahmet as main attractions are walking distance. Hotel staff are friendly and the hotel is child friendly. We stayed with our 2 young children and it was stress free. There are quite a few decent places to eat in near the hotel and breakfast in the morning is very nice at the hotel itself. Plus from the hotel terrace there is a beautiful view of the sea! Highly recommended. This was our 1st time to Istanbul, when I come again I will definitely stay at the Stone Hotel as it ticks all the boxes!

The four of us went to Istanbul. The area of the hotel was difficult to ind at first.... But with the help from the local carpet salesmen we were able to find the hotel. It is very close, walking distance to the sights of the Blue Mosque, Palace and the Grand Bazar.. Rooms a little small but nice. Clean and the breakfast was excellent. Staff ( family) was nice and friendly

stayed for two nights at Stone. Only a few streets away from metro station. Close to grand bazaar and lots of other sites. The hotel was very clean, and service was very friendly. Breakfast was very good. The view from the roof top was amazing, a great view of the city and ocean. Rooms are big and clean with a full bathtub and shower. Area is quite away from the traffic. Would definatley recommend this hotel.

I was with my family having one year old toddler...few things to note.... Hotel location is Gud near blue mosque and grand bazar. I suggest it for bachelor persons I.e without family..... Hotel staff doesn't understand English except manager.... No veg options in bfast except fruits.....hot water issue in bathroom.... Charges for drinking water in room..... No daily service for keeping enough saches of coffee/tea....room heaters having issues but alternative given with Split AC. Last but not least no welcome drink/coffee offered on arrival.

Lovely small hotel in the heart of historical Istanbul (Sultanahmet Area). 5 minutes walk from the main attraction and very close to the Metro station too. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Stayed there with my family (2 Adults, 2 kids) for 3 nights. Clean and comfy room. Only hiccup was that the fridge in the room didn't really work so was a bit of an issue storing milk bottle for our child..

The Stone Hotel is nice for anyone that doesn't need a lot of glam. I wouldn't call the hotel cheap, but it isn't posh and luxury either. It is comfortable. The staff are all very nice and helpful. The breakfast was decent and the room was also tidy. Overall, we enjoyed our time at the hotel.

Great location, good budget hotel

We visited Istanbul and stayed at the Stone Hotel from Oct. 24-27th. The hotel is located in the Old City, close to all the major sites (easy walking distance). The hotel is clean, staff are friendly and helpful, and the price is right for budget travel. Breakfast was included in our room rate and while there was a lot of selection (Turkish breakfast options) the taste was dull and did not appear fresh. There are plenty of restaurant options close to the hotel.

Lovely child-friendly little hotel

We stayed for 5 nights - had booked 2 triple rooms as we were travelling with two young kids. The night manager (Younus) recommended we look at a double and a triple (as we also requested rooms with a view of the sea) - the triple was so large that both kids and 1 couple could stay comfortably ... the double was a good size too!
My comments -
- Not 5* luxury but excellent value for money, in terms of facilities - this includes room service which was useful in case the kids got hungry (with a decent menu)
- Breakfast was the same on all 5 days, not bad and towards the end, very reassuring :))
- the highlight of the hotel is without a doubt the staff - every single one of them were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them
- very central location, which again is convenient if you're travelling with young kids - we never had to, but had the luxury of knowing that we could nip back to the hotel anytime
- lots of little restaurants very close by for evening meals and a couple of convenience stores around the corner which we used a lot to buy little things like crisps, biscuits, soda etc to nibble on in the evening / take with us in the mornings
- lovely Chinese restaurant around the corner ... definitely recommend that too if you're a Chinese fan :))
We had a really good time in Istanbul and the hotel contributed to that immensely - would recommend to anyone not looking for 5* luxury, and would certainly go back and stay again!! x

This was a fantastic hotel for several reasons: location, friendliness, sea view, value, and cleanliness. Great for a first trip to Istanbul! One recommendation is to close windows at night unless you enjoy the 5.30am call to prayer, but the double glazing cuts this out if you prefer sleep!

The people and location make it great

The staff was really friendly and helpful (especially Aziz and Joker who runs the room service night shift). The location is great. The hotel and rooms are not as big as they might look in the pictures, and I think they really need to make better use of their terrace. Also, some variety and change in the breakfast could help. On the plus side, the rooms are very clean (we had two rooms on different floors and of different arrangements), and you really feel the staff is there to help make your stay as pleasurable as possible (including giving personalized advice, which was important in our case considering our group included people of various ages). Overall, and compared to other hotels I have stayed at in Istanbul and the region, it is great and surely exceeds expectations.

We are a couple in our early 60's, fit and active, but after a 29 hour trip from start to finish, we where delighted to be received so gently with tea and advice while our luggage was taken to our room. The friendly assistance was consistant and no requests were too much trouble. The hotel is comfortable and clean and we were very pleased with our deluxe sea view room, even though you need to open the window to see the sea.We had included breakfast in our room price and after further travels through Turkey, the Stone Hotel breakfast was well presented, fresh and a good array of fruit, yoghurt, cereal, eggs and the traditional turkish olives, cold meats, cucumbers and tomatoes. The central location means you are just a stones throw(no pun intended) from the Hippodrome and there are many good eateries nearby not forgetting the restaurant at the hotel itself.I have no hesitation in recommending the Stone Hotel to fellow travellers as a solid 3* stay.

7 min walking distance to main sights like blue mosque, hagia sophia. Good Hotel staff. Breakfast was basic with tea coffee, breads, olives, cheese, nutella and some meat. But for a the price it was great.
I would totally stay here again. Not many restaurants bars around, quiet neighborhood. so if you are looking for hustle bustle try a different hotel like Agan.
Also if you are going to split your stay in istanbul I would do a few nights in old Istanbul (where stone is) and a few nights in Taksim square.

Stone Hotel Review

This is a very nice little hotel within walking distance of most tourist sites. The only minor complaint was the very loud call to prayer from a nearby mosque five times per day beginning at 4:30 am with the last one near midnight. If you consider this as just one element of the cultural experience then it's really not a huge issue. Overall we liked the hotel very much. The breakfast was substantial.

Stone Hotel Istanbul is in a great location

My husband, daughter and I stayed at the Stone in March and found it to be very satisfactory. The location is perfect and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good and the delicious tea generously offered throughout the day was appreciated.

We would stay there again and would definitely recommend it to others.

Ideal Location For The Blue Mosque

Great location, just a 5 minuite walk and you are at the Blue Mosque and near many other historical sites for Istanbul.
Hotel was clean and comfortable, breakfast was typical Turkish fair with the added bonus of beingin an old dungen.
Staff very friendly and spoke enough english to help with any questions.

its 3 star hotel

comparing with other 3 star hotels located in Istanbul i think it doesn't deserve more than 1 or max 2 star according to the service and mentainence ( buthtub drain was nearly stuck , air condaition i think nobody clean its filtir at all so I did it even I asked them to do it from day one but nobody did anything , very poor brekfast quality ) this was the bad piont the only good thing that was its location

Nice little hotel in Sultahahmet

The receptionists were very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is right in the heart of Sultanahmet, everything being within walking distance, either to the sites or a metro station. The view on top of the hotel is nice; you can smoke a nargile waterpipe on the roof of their outdoor terrace, and enjoy the view while drinking a glass of wine or raki. The breakfast was a European-Turkish style continental breakfast. The rooms are a little bit small but comfortable, and there is free wireless internet throughout the hotel.

The Stone was everything I'd read. Great location just round the corner from The Blue Mosque. Clean rooms with great bathrooms and power showers. Breakfast more than adequate. Bonuses were a great stone courtyard for eating in, and a roof terrace with a view to die for of the ocean. If I return to Istanbul I will definitely be staying here again.

In the hotel information section it's written that check out time is 12:30 PM but hotel's check out policy is 12:00 PM. Also, wanted airport shuttle service and requested them via email and messages. NO Response from the hotel. The given telephone numbers were unreasonable. Terrible communication.

Ok hotel, stay clear if you don’t like cold shower

Nice staff, ok rooms, boring breakfast, shower with literally no pressure when you want a hot shower, only pressure on cold showers, that is consistent over the whole hotel, we had three different rooms as we went other places in between, same poor shower all rooms.

В целом все хорошо, расположение отличное, буквально пять минут до центра пешком, персонал хороший, отзывчивый, необходимый для жизни минимум есть. Терпима для завтрака и внутренний дворик очень красивые! На террасе обитают три очень красивых котика, которых просто нельзя не покормить!)
Из минусов комнаты не самые чистые, много пятен на мебели, постельном белье, что-то странное было разлито на тумбочке… но в целом терпимо. В ванной чисто, но напор оооочень слабый. Нам сперва не выдали полотенца, но после нашей просьбы все исправили. Уборка в номере была каждый день, в том числе меняли полотенца, приносили новые шампуни и мыло. Чайника в номере нет.

Wir haben unser Zimmer mit Frühstück gebucht. FRÜHSTÜCK das war kein Frühstück es war nur fad. Kein grün keine Abwechslung. Das Zimmer war OK. Die Zimmermädchen sehr freundlich. Empfehle nicht weiter.

Also man kann dieses Gebäude nicht als Hotel bezeichnen sondern als eine Pension minus 5 Sterne.
Als angefangen mit der Ankunft wir sind gegen 3 Uhr in der Früh angekommen und der Nachtwächter wusste nicht mal wie er die Buchung findet. Er wollte uns nicht mal eine Flache Wasser geben wonach wir gefragt haben. Nach langer Diskussion hat es geklappt.
Zusammenfassung:
Zimmer ist schlecht und schmutzig.
Klimaanlage in 3 Tagen 2 mal ausgefallen
Stromausfall
Wasserstörung
Wir wurden auch beklaut.
Frühstück besteht aus 2 Scheiben Gurke und paar Tomaten.
Inhaber ist sehr unhöflich und nicht hilfsbereit
Ich würde niemandem niemandem das Hotel empfehlen es war echt ein Horror.

Mijn broertje en ik zijn heel tevreden over Stone hotel en de omgeving, personeel stond ons altijd te woord. Het was een hotel met een mooie binnenkant waar je je meteen thuis voelt, het uitzicht en de ligging waren super. We konden op loopafstand blauwe moskee, Sofia moskee en alle andere bezienswaardigheden zien.

Проверяйте номер, прежде чем заселят

В целом все не плохо, в номере чисто, персонал очень вежливый. Но, очень расстроил тот факт, что после заселения обнаружили, что в душе нет двери.И после принятия душа, в душевой комнате на полу было много воды. Администрация, после жалобы на 3й день предоставили нам другой номер. Удивляет, почему надо было заселять в такой номер?

Vicino alla fermata del tram T1 e alle principali attrazioni turistiche. Camera ampia confortevole e bagno nuovo e pulito.
Colazione all'inglese ma di livello basso.
Personale però poco attento. Abbiamo dovuto chiedere il phon non trovato in bagno 5 volte.
Inoltre un giorno ci siamo trovati senza asciugamani e un giorno senza carta igienica.Subito recuperato tutto ..ma andare a chiedere asciugamani e carta igienica alla reception...
