Conveniently located hotel

Well located hotel made it easy to walk to Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, and much more. Room was ground floor, subject to street noise. Ensuite bath was clean, but had plumbing isse that was not resolved during my stay (constant leak in toilet). Breakfast was filling and tasty - including items not normally considered breakfast foods (salad?) Room lights needed attention by electrician - flickering occasionally.

Spectacular Stay

I stayed in Ala Sofia Hotel for three Nights. All the staff was very co operative and Helpful. Especially, the Lady at the counter named BALLAR was very nice, Humble and Helpful person towards us.

Our room was in Basement, that was a Nice and spacious room. There was elevator as well to go on different floors.Only one little problem was that it was hard to view outside through the Window. Apart for that, it was wonderful experience to stay with Ala Sofia Hotel. I'll recommend this Hotel to stay if someone visiting Istanbul.

I really liked the service at the hotel, the staff were really helpful and very approachable. The hotel ambience was really nice. The hotel was really near the trams, shops and restaurants. The only issue we had was the room we had reserved was not available when we arrived as there was plumbing issues. Due to that the room we got was small. It was difficult moving around the room with luggage.

We stayed 4 nights. Our room was clean and good size. Bathroom was large and very comfortable. Hotel staff were very helpful in all aspects, including local tours and getting some discounts.

We liked the breakfast table as it catered to both veg and non-veg guests. Sea view from the restaurant was superb.

My awesome Istanbul experience

It was an amazing experience. The staff was awesome and Apo the front desk guy was incredible from t time we enter. He gave us all the infotmation we needed it made reservation for us and also helped us with transportation. Rooms were huge and comfortable and my kids we in love with location, comfort and great service. Oh I cant forget great breakfast on terrace with incredible view.

Spent four days over Christmas. The hotel was recommended by a friend who lives in Istanbul and it lived up to my expectations.Breakfast was typical with a lot of dried fruit. Bread was very good and they did offer boiled eggs and a few warm items. The staff was most helpful.

Ferman Sultan Hotel is Filthy

I booked 14 nights but I could not stay one minute in this hotel it's filthy in every way, sewage order throughout the hotel, bathroom is very dirty its fill with mold. Hotels.com should be a ashamed of themselves to have this hotel on their site!!! Ferman Sultan Hotel not a hotel stay in even for free. The floor has spot all over the the bed small disgusting. I lost over $1000.00 they refused refund my money and Hotels.com have misleading information deceiving their customers!!! I took many pictures to share on TripAdvisor and other site.

Rooms are variable

We had booked an extra night separately, so we had to move rooms during our stay. What a difference! The 3rd floor room had a nice view, good bed and was pleasant all up. The basement room was smaller, mattress was worn and uneven, view was passer by's legs and the bathroom developed a bad smell. No difference on paper (the basement room too was advertised 'city views'), but a massive difference in how we would rate the hotel. All comes down to luck. Above scores are from 3 nights in a good room and 1 night in a bad one.

Ferman Sultan Hotel

Very good location.

The staff, mainly Mr. Umut, were very nice and helped a lot with my needs.

The Hotel just need to be more careful with the maintenance. My room the thermostat did not work, so the room was very hot, or very cold after turn the heater off, the shower head was not functioning properly. I only stay 2 nights, so i let the fixing to be done after my departure.

This hotel is absolutely close to everything! The staff at this hotelare exceptional. Their hospitality and service was more than I can put into words. Their hospitality is something one would expect from a 5 star hotel. My many thanks to CEM (pronounced Gem) who was the front desk whom I had the pleasure of interacting mostly with. Although I must thank all the GREAT staff that were there. If you are looking for a small, intimate and well situated hotel, this is the one. I would definitely stay here again on my return trip to Istanbul.

Good, could be better

Room was good for the price, but the beds were not too comfortable. The hotel is quite small, no room service or spa as advertised on their website. We also found some of the staff to be less accommodating/flexible than we would have liked. Breakfast was great! Great location, right in the heart of Old City (Sultanahmet) and close to most tourist sites. Would recommend if you will be gone all day while in Istanbul.

This hotel is very close to where you would want to be, near the historic centre. It took 2 nights to get used to the 4am call to prayer! The breakfast buffet was ok but not very exciting.
Unfortunately the walls are thin and we had some very inconsiderate neighbours who talked very loudly into the small hours.
The holiday was great. So many interesting places to go and things to see.
Try not to rush around as it is a very large but relaxed city. We stayed a week which is about right.
We found that you need to go into small restaurants in back streets to get the best meals. We had a special celebration at the Four Seasons Hotel which is quite magnificent.

Good location nice and help full staff. Stay away from room number 302 as lot of noise. As there is Resturant on above the room you with hear moving of chairs and foot steps starts at 6am. Also make sure your bed sheets are changed regularly we had two rooms for five days after three days we notice out bed sheet was not changed till we requested.

Nice, neat, clean and tidy and for the money there is really nothing to complain about. The beds are comfortable, functional bathroom, air con and mini bar. My wife and I paid a great deal more elsewhere in Europe for less. Breakfast isn't great but as I later found out it is quite traditional, so you can't really fault that. To simply put, I would stay here again.

Family friendly hotel with a great location.

Serder is one of the best hotel managers i have come across. He always speaks to his guest any chance he gets and made me and my family (mom & neice) feel very welcome. Mert was also really good very well manered but also very patience. Between mert (forgive me if i spelt the name wrong) and Serder the hotel is a must stay. I will definitely come again. My 11yr niece absolutly enjoyed speaking to Serder and learning turkish words from him. The triple room was wonderfully clean with kettle, fridge and selection of teas. The bathroom is very clean with no moulds what so ever. Breakfast was also wonderful and the staff responsible for preparing breakfast buffet do an excellent job. Well done to all staff at Ferman Sultan Hotel keep up the good work. Well done Serder for making the hotel family friendly and the guest feel like they are at home. Im already preparing my next stay with them!

Great location 100mt from the Blue Mosque and other major sites. Its in the quiet area of town and you can walk to most things or take a tram anywhere. Breakfast was pretty basic but sufficient, room was very nice, unfortunately you can hear a lot through the doors which i do not think were up to the job.

I would avoid being in the same hotel next time.

Over all the hotel was ok. It was at the center of sultanahment as mentioned. The hotel and room was very clean. But the the room itself doesnt look the same as shown in picture. The wasnt that friendly and the air conditioner wasnt working for most of the days despite mentioning it to the staff. We had the roof top breakfast but the food was cold, so didnt enjoyed a bit.

Spent 3 nights. When I wanted a higher floor they moved me and accommodated my request as soon as a room was available. Murat at the reception desk and Aly the bellman were both so helpful. View from breakfast area is fabulous. Restaurant across the street very nice. Easy walk to all tourist sites. Safe too small for laptop but no problems, and seagulls sometimes noisy early morrning. Would use the same hotel again. Reasonable price too.

Ferman Sultan Hotel (the renamed one!)

Excellent and friendly staff and very clean and tidy hotel. Close to all amenities of the old city and walking distance to all sight seeing. My only small complaint was the shower in my bath was very poor - luke warm water and shower head drizzled and not showered however the cleanliness and friendliness of hotel made up for any misgivings. Breakfast buffet was lacking in freshness - lots of Turkish dried fruits, nuts, strange meats and cheese. Coffee was from a Nescafe machine and orange juice was really some of that strange european orange watered drink. I opted for grabbing a real turkish coffee in square and drank fresh pomegranate juice later in the day from the market. I would still stay there again as it was friendly, inviting and very clean. Lastly, there is confusion with taxis that the Ferman is not known as it was formerly the Blue Hills hotel. There is also 3 or 4 Fermans and Sultans in the Old City which make it even more confusing.

TWO Ferman hotels

Please note: There are two Ferman hotels. One is the Ferman Hotel and the other is the Ferman Sultan hotel. I stayed in the latter while my friends stayed in the former. If I had a choice, I'd stay at the Ferman hotel (the ones my friends stayed at). My hotel was ok though I wouldn't recommend it. Not that the hotel was bad per se, it's just that you could get a better deal at a hotel nearby.

L'hotel est simple mais les chambres sont bien equipees, plutot spacieuses et propre.
L'emplacement à 5min a pied de la mosquee est un plus.
Large choix au petit dejeuner.
2 arrets de Tramway proche. Plusieurs resto autour.
Le personnel a été chaleureux et bienveillant.
Le spa en partenariat avec l'hotel est super.
Il faudrait juste dire aux clients d'arreter le bruit dans la salle commune aprés 22h.

El lugar está muy bien ubicado, se puede conocer bastante a pie.
Tuvimos unos inconvenientes con los taxis, pero no tienen nada que ver con el hotel.

Останавливались в отеле на 4 ночи. Отель расположен в 5 минутах ходьбы от площади Султанахмет, при этом в тихом районе.Отель не большой, номер тоже не большой, но есть все необходимое: сейф, мини холодильник, чайник, чайные принадлежности, бутилированная вода, туалетные принадлежности, полотенца, все своевременно пополнялось. Персонал дружелюбный, завтрак континентальный с 8 до 10.30. Рядом много кафе, есть супермаркеты. До остановки трамвая №1 несколько минут пешком. Единственный недостаток - шумоизоляция, номер был на первом этаже, слышимость с улицы как будто окна открыты нараспашку, хорошо, что улочки тихие. В остальном размещение понравилось, приятно провели время.

La Chambre est minuscule. Rien a, voir avec les photos du site
Le petit déjeuner est ridicule. Sur le site de réservation il était marque soins spa. Or en fait il propose un Tarif préférentiel pour un hammam attrape touristes.

De plus, la terrasse pour le petit déjeuner n'existe plus, elle a été transformée en appartement, alors que c'était l'une des raisons pour lesquelles nous avions choisi cet hôtel.

Das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

Wir waren für sechs Tage da. Haben uns in dem Hotel gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Das Personal hat uns jeden wunsch erfüllt. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß gut zu erreichen. Das Frühstück ist für den Preis ok.

Schönes hotel in 2 min. İn Sultanahmet platz.

Vielen vielen Dank, super hotel & Team

Das kostenlose w-lan war sehr schnell wie meine Verbindung in Deutschland, top! Zimmer war sehr sauber, Austattung: lcd flachbildfernseher, fön, usw. Wie auch in 4 sterne hotels, dazu kostenloser safe mit pincode, sehr praktisch! Wir sind zu dritt mit unserem sohn da gewesen. Damit wir in ruhe frühstücken konnten hat sich Mahmud oft um um den kleinen gekümmert. Das personal war sehr nett und immer, immer Freundlich und Zuvorkommend. Bei dem Preis den wir gezahlt haben, hatte ich dann ein schlechtes gewissen das wir soviel bekommen haben. Im frühjahr werde ich wieder dieses hotel buchen. Es war alles so ungezwungen, locker und erholend. Die Zentrumsnähe zur strassenbahn und zu den sehenswürdigkeiten war einfach nur genial. Dieses hotel habe ich auch meinen eltern und freunden empfohlen. AUSSICHT VON DER TERASSE SEHR SCHÖN!

You have to be lucky or bold to get a good room!

Because our travleschedule changed at last minute we had to make changes to the room we booked. Eventhough it was our own \"fault\", the staff unfortunately wasn't very flexible with finding a sollution for it's costumers.

The room was clean but we had mice wandering around the room, no hot water to shower and the airconditioner started in the middle of the night, so that by the morning it was 30 degrees in the room! After the first night we did got a different room, much better, but we did not stay another night after this story.

La habitación cuando llegamos aún no estaba lista, tuvimos que esperar. El recepcionista no fue muy amable, en la van que envío el hotel al aeropuerto a recogernos se quedó el estuche de mis lentes, que no fue devuelto. El desayuno no era muy variado y poca cantidad de cosas para comer en relación a la cantidad de pasajeros. Buena ubicación, excelente vista de la Mezquita Azul y el Bósforo.
Muy caro el precio que cobran por lavar la ropa es el doble que en otros hoteles del sector, nosotros lavamos en otro hotel nuestra ropa.
Cobrán más caro por el servicio de transfer compartido al aeropuerto, también lo pedimos y tomamos en otro hotel.

Zentrales und sauberes Hotel, in sicherer Umgebung

War mit einer Freundin für ein langes Wochenende dort.
Die zentrale Lage war perfekt für unsere Ausflüge. Konnten alles per Fuss und mit dem Big Bus erkunden. Sind noch nicht mal dazu gekommen mit der Tram zu fahren :)

Die Angebote und Empfehlungen des Hotel-Personals waren auch alle sehr gut.
Ein noch recht neuer Mitarbeiter hat manchmal ein paar Falsch-Aussagen gemacht, die dann aber doch korrigiert wurden. Und wir waren so flexible, dass es uns nicht erheblich beeinträchtigt hat.

Kann das Hotel nur Weiterempfehlen. Störungen meines Kühlschranks wurden ebenso umgehend behoben.

立地とスタッフはよいです

ブルーモスクに近く、便利な立地でした。ただ、ラマダンの最中に滞在したので夜遅くまですぐ近くの公園で人が深夜過ぎまで騒いでいる音が気になりました。お風呂は浴槽がありましたが、残念ながら水が少し赤茶けた色をしていました。朝ごはんは期待していた分がっかりした内容でした。立地がいいこと、スタッフさんの親切さは評価したいです。

Experience tres inconfortable ! La clim ne marchait pas en rentrant de promenade. En me presentant a l accueil il la reactivé depuis le comptoir. A 4:00 du matin ma fille de 13 mois sest levée trempée et notre thermometre indiquait 28,4 degrés. Nous etions en nage. Je vais a laccueil et le receptionniste monte a ma chambre, me programme soit disant la clim : 30 degrés mode chauffage. J etais a 2 doigts de me mettre en colere ! On a donc du ouvrir les fenetre pour rafraichir ! Sinon le petit dej sur une super vue mais les produits proposés etaient limites perimés ( les couleurs montraient bien qu ils n etaient plus frais!) je deconseille!!!

Schönes Hotel nahe der Hagia Sophia

Ein sehr schönes Hotel inmitten der kleinen Gassen von Istanbul aber trotzdem kann man innerhalb weniger Minuten die Hagia Sophia, die Blaue Moschee (Sultan-Ahmed-Moschee) und die Cisterna Basilica erreichen. Das Hotel bietet ein riesiges Frühstücksbuffet an bei dem für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei ist. Besonders erwähnenswert ist, dass man das Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse des Hotels einnehmen kann, welche einen atemberaubenden Blick über den Bosporus und die Dächer Istanbuls bietet. Die Zimmer sind schön hergerichtet (nach abendländischem Stil) und die Betten bequem. Einziger Nachteil sind die dünnen Wände die besonders für Personen mit leichtem Schlaf ein Nachteil sein könnten. Das Personal ist freundlich, aufmerksam und sehr hilfsbereit. Es werden von hier aus auch diverse Ausflüge in und um Istanbul angeboten. Einen davon haben wir mitgemacht und es war alle sehr gut organisiert und auch nicht teuer.

Gemütliches & zentrales Hotel

Für einen Städtetrip ist dieses Hotel sehr zu empfehlen. Das Personal ist unheimlich hilfsbereit und liebenswert. Es ist schwer etwas Vergleichbares zu finden. Die zentrale Lage ist perfekt.

Das einzige zu Kritisierende: die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig.

Urlaub in Istanbul

Alles Prima,
Lage ist sehr gut. Leicht zu finden und Nachts ist die Gegend auch super. 2 Straßen von Sultan Ahmet Camii. In der Nähe sind auch zwei Supermärkte. 8 Min von Metro und 3 Min von der Tram. Frühstück war gut. Zimmer sind Prima.

Nice hotel in walking distance of lots of sights

Our stay at the Ferman Sultan Hotel was good. The service team was really friendly and helpful.
The room was always clean and the breakfast buffet was also okay.
