The room is Spartan, to say the least but I knew that coming in. Bed is very comfortable and really all I wanted because don’t really want to spend much time sitting in a room! The staff is lovely and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. Nothing was ever empty for more than a second and it was replaced.

The hotel's location is good and centrally located. They offer all-day coffee and tea, and the waffles from 5-7 were good. However, the rooms are extremely small and housekeeping is poor. Breakfast was very disappointing-scrambled eggs contained bacon mixed in from the side tray. I informed the manager and requested separate dishes for eggs and bacon, but there was no alternative provided and hygiene was questionable. Even after raising the concern, we were told that this is how breakfast is. Overall, apart from the location and evening waffles, the experience was below average.

Really pleased with this hotel! Was in a great location, staff were lovely and friendly, everything was clean. Breakfast, waffles, cakes and hot chocolates were great! There was a drip from under the sink in my room which I did report but I presume that they were waiting for a plumber to fix as it wasn't sorted when I was still there. They even left chocolates in my room as I said I was staying for a special occasion.

This was honestly one of the worst hotels around. For the price, pay a bit more and stay somewhere else. Dirty, shower was awful, the bed smelt of the people before us. Check out is at 12, at 11:30 a man let himself into our room while we were getting dressed.

Horrible experience with Enter Amalie, AVOID it !!

I had a terrible experience with Enter Amalie in Tromso. i have been staying with Enter properties for a while, and booked it since they carry a decent reputation, however, when i arrived, the room assigned to me was not made up and housekeeping was not done for the room. i had to drive to viking hotel to change my room, and the new room they gave me had people in them. Both they and we were terrified by this experience.

It took was 2 hours and 4 trips to finally get a decent room inside viking hotel at 2 am in the night.

This was the worst decision of our norway trip. Definitely not worth the pain!!

We had stayed at the comfort express previously in Tromso but the room was pretty small so we decided to try a more expensive hotel. Enter Amelia was not a lot more expensive but it was smaller and older than the Comfort Express. They offered parking but then I found out it was $35 night and at another property which should be in the details before you book. Loved the breakfast cake and coffee in the afternoon and the waffles at night. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

We booked late having had to alter our flights. Unfortunately we were too late to eat anywhere in the area but the lovely receptionist offered us cookies and coffee.
Our luggage didn’t arrive with us but again the receptionist couldn’t have been more helpful this morning whilst we anxiously waited our luggage. She called us to let us know when it arrived - saving us a lot of money buying extra clothes!!

Excellent location in centre of Town by harbour.Zoltan the receptionist was incredibly helpful by suggesting restaurants,things to do and even booked a restaurant for New Year's Eve as everything was closed.
One of the other female receptionist was pleasant but not so helpful .

Very convenient location in the centre of Tromsø. Bus stop for going to the airport opposite the hotel is also very convenient. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast buffet to help you start the day with full energy. Bedroom is on the smaller side, but the beds are good enough, the bathroom with shower and toilet is fine, and a water cooker with tea bags and instant coffee is also provided.

The hotel is located in a great location in the centre of Tromsø with plenty of dining options within a short walking distance. The food was great, with lots of breakfast options and free Norwegian waffles, jams, and brunost in the evening.

The property itself was convenient. It’s right in the middle of town so, you can easily walk everywhere. The continental breakfast was great. Although the room was smaller than our cruise cabin, it worked for what we needed.

Check-in was rough. We were told we could check in until 10 or 11pm before we would have to go to a sister property. We got in at 9pm. The front desk was closed but no fear, they had a self check in kiosk. Unfortunately it was broken. I didn’t know how to otherwise check in. They had a phone number to call but no local phone to use. Ultimately we had to walk the 6or so blocks to the sister property to check in. The only other negative was the lobby temperature. It was uncomfortably hot!

With all that, we would still stay there again!

The hotel is in dowtown infront of Troll Museum. It's very easy to catch the bus to&from airport. I really enjoy breakfast over there. The customer service is very nice we can store our lugguests since we're too early to check in. Our room is small so is our beds. We can hear birds make a lot of noise at night. If we go to Tromsø we'll stay there again!

We checked in later in the day.
The room was comfortable and it had a good shower.
The gulls are protected so they nest all around, but the ear plugs offered worked well.
Breakfast is really good.

I was very pleased with this hotel. It was in a great location, staff was friendly. It was a bit ‘no frills’ which was fine with me. No housekeeping in the room. I had to specifically request clean towels - and as a solo traveler, it was ok that no one cleaned the room- but that might be an issue for some. Breakfast was good. Coffee not so much - but there is a nice coffee shop close. I would stay here again.

An ok hotel. Asked for a recommendation for seeing the northern lights and this girl at recepton sent me to a local park / lake. She said it was only a 25 minute walk. She forgot to mention that it up a very steep hill for most of that time which makes it an hour walk. And due to the ice it was extremely slippery doing that walk. I ended up slipping over and hurting my back. I then found out the next day the lights were visible from the hill where the cable car takes you Don’t take this recommendation if you aren’t fit. The breakfast was good and the guy that check me in was lovely. The beds were extremely hard, like sleeping on a brick. A very good shower. Overall ok but I left disappointed due to bad advice from a staff member.

The staff at the front desk were warm and inviting. The breakfast offerings are featuring a wide array of choices. The lobby's coffee and tea corner was a lovely addition, contributing to a cozy atmosphere. The hotel boasts a superb location.

On the downside, the room we were assigned was not up to par, with mold visible in the shower area. Upon checking in, we noticed that the bed sheets were not clean. Furthermore, the bed linens remained unchanged for a duration of our stay, which was concerning in terms of cleanliness. The level of housekeeping was lackluster, leaving us to question whether the room had been serviced at all; the only clue to any service was an extra roll of toilet paper. The room was uncomfortably small, barely accommodating our luggage. Given the exorbitant cost, the hotel failed to deliver adequate value for the price.

Rooms are clean.
If you like space, you might find the rooms compact, particularly the bathroom. However, if your room is a pace to rest and keep clean, then it's absolutely fine.
The breakfast buffet is excellent. A wide range of foods and plenty of it.
They also provide free tea and coffee through the day, with biscuits and also waffles in the evening.
I booked my whale watching and northern light excursions with reception, and they were able to advise well.
The hotel is an economical option, and does a great job.
I'd stay there again.

Hotel gem in central Tromsø

Delightful property employing cheerful, knowledgable staff. Rooms are compact; think space efficient, not grand luxury. A hot water pot is provided. No fridge, safe, closed clothing closet or even hooks to hang coats on the wall. No bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, or cream provided. Just a serviceable foam soap pump at the sink and in the shower. A desk, chair and tv are provided; lighting is minimal, but sufficient. Breakfast buffet is surprisingly robust with many choices of good quality food. Evening self made Scandinavian pancakes with syrup, berry jams, goid coffee and teas is a delightful touch. 7-9pm daily. Bonus: literally across the street from bus #42 which runs 16 minutes to the airport for a few krone. Better than a taxi, Uber, or airport shuttle. Enjoy!

Since we had a early tour To early for breakfast which was included but still you pay for it.
We asked would it possible to pack a box for us. They said they set out early coffee, juice, croissants for people who have tours but it’s out at reception and everyone helps themselves. So when we go to get some. No glasses etc. not a big deal but maybe they would like to rethink a better way. Very nice people and hotel.

Lovely hotel in the heart of central Tromso. There are comfortable sitting areas inside and out. We were very impressed with the hearty breakfast; so many options , from pancakes to smoked salmon to Brunost. Chai was so welcoming at the front counter; he made check-in simple and straightforward , gave us tea and waffles in the evening , and even provided tape when we needed to mail a parcel. The rooms are cozy and had everything that we needed. We will miss Amélie and hope to return someday.

I had a very nice stay at Enter Amalie Hotel. The staff was very friendly and made sure you felt at home. The waffle maker in the evening was great to have after a day of walking and shopping. The people at the front desk were great with suggesting places to eat and drink, and they even scheduled a taxi to pick me up early in the morning to drive me to the airport. The room was clean and rather quiet despite being next to the stairs. Breakfast was a good variety and made fresh daily. My only complaint was the shower was very tiny and I kept bumping my elbows into the door whenever I was in the bathroom.

Upon arrival, front desk staff exemplified warmth, welcome, friendliness, humor, and generosity. We were notified that there was an option for a free upgrade and were very appreciative. The 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen and washer/dryer transformed our trip from lovely to spectacular.
The front desk staff in the weekdays were particularly patient, helpful and knowledgeable.
The breakfast staff were amazing . They were efficient, kind, and hard working. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with its variety and freshness. We enjoyed the treat of the day, ranging from chocolate cake with coconut frosting (my fave) to cookies to nightly waffles.
Thank you to the exquisite staff at Enter Amalie for your dedication to your work and for your service. We would return!

Great location! The hotel is in walking distance to everything, including the pick-up spot for most reindeer sleigh ride and northern lights activities. The room and bathroom weren't anything special but were clean. The stay included breakfast, which the staff kindly let me crash early since I had an early flight to catch. As a cheaper option compared to others, I'd recommend this hotel.

Booked a superior room and given upgrade to apartment annexed to hotel, this was in need of an update and noisy so we moved back to hotel the next day. Room in hotel was very small for 2 people, the bed was pushed up against the wall and floor space was minimal. Light in bathroom did not work and we were offered an unearthed lamp!😬.
Finally the breakfast was mediocre but the staff were very friendly and helpful

The star of this hotel is the super friendly, and helpful staff. They did the best they could. But the hotel is run down, and the poor WiFi was a major inconvenience. I booked a superior double room, but the room was far from superior, or even a double. The 'double bed' was two twin beds just pushed together, with seperate duvets and sheets for each bed. The holiday was booked as a romantic week away but the poor quality of the room put a dampner on the whole week. The hotel classification of what they consider a 'superior' room is a joke.

DO NOT stay here!!! We booked a stay for 3 nights and the first night we arrived late at night and noticed a weird smell in our room. We opened the windows and the door to the hall to air it out, but this did not work. It smelled like cat pee in our room and we had a horrible time sleeping. Not only did it smell horrible, the hotel room was filthy! Towels were not clean, the floor was dirty and all the surfaces were covered in dust.

We cancelled our reservation for the next 2 nights and it's been 2 weeks, and I have called/emailed multiple times without a response regarding my refund for the nights I had to go across the street to the Radisson. Every time I call, no one is able to give me any answers, or let me talk to a manager.

Don't waste your time and money with this place. Stay across the street at the Radisson. It had great customer service and clean, nice smelling rooms.

We are very disappointed with the room. They mentioned that the room size we have booked is 15sq.m and it was up to 10sq.m.
The previous and the next day we stayed at two different hotels mentioned room sizes of 15sq.m and they are double sided from this one in Enter Amalie Hotel.
As for the cleaness, the room was clean and tidy.
Regarding the breakfast and the staff, everything was fine.
Also free coffee and tea for all of the time.

The thing that really stands out about this hotel is the location and the reasonable price. It's not only a short-walk to all of the shopping and restaurants; it's also about a 3-minute walk to the hotels where most of the tours pick-up.

The staff was very friendly and helpful on several occasions. The room was very small in a typical European way, but it was perfect for just a few days. It wasn't fancy, but everything was clean and worked. I appreciated the heated floors in the bathroom. The room price included a nice breakfast.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay to explore Tromso, as long as you aren't looking for a lot of extras.

Perfect location central to all the main tourist attractions. Bus stop to/from airport is just round the corner from the hotel.
Staff is super friendly and attentive.

Enter Amalie was surprisingly central in Tromsø, walking distance from Tromsø havn. The hotel is close to the town center with access to convenience stores, shops, and also to different dining choices as well as public transportation options. Check-in and check out were easy and staff were friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was very spacious for a single person. There was a large flat screen tv for entertainment in my room. The bathroom was a little outdated, but seemed to be clean. The closet in my room had only two clothes hangers. There was a nice breakfast buffet included in the room pricing which I found very enjoyable.
