A lovely hotel, 5 mins drive from Bath centre. Walkable too in approx 15 mins, although we didn’t try it.
Our room had a comfortable four poster bed, tea/coffee, plenty storage space and an en-suite bathroom with bath/shower. Although the hotel is quite old, It was very clean and furnished with objects from the era.
Check in was simple, with a friendly, efficient gentleman.
We loved it here and would definitely come again. Thank you so much.

The hotel is set inan amazing area. Walking distance to a shops. The hotel rooms were big and inviting. It was spotless and tidy. The bathroom showed some age but was perfectly functional. And as a cyclist you are very close to an old train track bed that is a shared cycle walking path with a tunnel that runs directly under the hotel. And into the main town centre.

We stayed for a concert so prices were tripled which we accepted however when we arrived the outside of the hotel looked like it could do with some TLC.
We walked through the door and the smell was awful like old stale moth balls. The room was the same. The bin in the bothroom had not been emptied from the guests before there was dust atound the chrome base of the chairs you could write your name in, the bin was rusty and the bottom of the radiator was filthy. Even the cups were not the cleanest. We did not see any staff members during our stay just 1 man when we checked in and the same man on the way out, he was friendly enough.the bed was old with old dirty cusions and curtains. There was no experience it was just a bed to sleep in as the room was so old and dinghy. Overall very over priced, if i wasn't staying for a concert we would have asked for a refund and found a premier inn.

I want to demand a refund the property is not as advertised black mould everywhere in the shower the bed was not made the carpet had not been hoovered. Electrical extensions everywhere. The breakfast was cheap basic produce and instant coffee we had to make ourselves at breakfast. Other guests also comment their disgust. It actual spoilt our weekend away we spend the whole day in the pouring rain rather than go back to the room. The devote was missing match which resemble a charity shop collection.

I hold Expedia responsible for not checking the property before advertising it on their site I would have preferred a travel lodge which would have been cheaper and cleaner.

I can honestly say it is not a fit place to call a hotel it is DISGUSTING UNINHABITABLE PROPERTY which I would not allow animals to stay. I DEMAND a full refund!!! I am itching like I have been bitten by bugs it's that dirty and refused to stay longer than absolutely necessary. I came home to have a shower!!! That how dirty the shower was. The room and shower have not been cleaned since the last guest visited for certain!!!!

Stayed here for a couple nights.
The room was a bit rough around the edges, but nothing too bad. It was a good size room, plenty of space.
It's in a quiet area that isn't a long walk into the city centre. It has free parking and a kettle in the room which I always appreciate.
Alexandra park is nearby and worth a visit for the views.
Overall we had no issues with this hotel 🙂

Charming place but stay disrupted by other guests

The hotel is quite charming in style. Large room. Bathroom was small but functional. Bed a little too soft for my liking. Parking on site, local pubs and shops nearby with a reasonable walk into the town centre. Manager was friendly and helpful. Nice freshly cooked breakfast.

Noise travels in the hotel and unfortunately the stay was somewhat ruined by other guests one night who were coming in and out throughout the night, yelling at each other and banging doors so we got little sleep.

The property is a Georgian house, it is noticeably old but well-maintained and clean. It's location is perfect for public transport or walking into the city centre. It has good parking on the premises. We had a large room on the top floor with great views, quite a lot of steps so something to keep in mind for older or luggage-laden guests. This suited our needs perfectly but may not impress those who want a more \"modern\" or refurbished hotel.

The Wentworth House is an old building repurposed into a hotel. The facilities are showing their age, the rooms are dated, and the bar and food area are no longer open. On the plus side, a room was available the same day we arrived in Bath (booked on short notice) and it's a 20-minute walk to the downtown area. But with more pre-planning you can find better accomodations.

Not sure when this photo was taken, but this was far from the actual hotel when we arrived. Overflowing gutters, a very run down hotel, room was so small and had to climb into a very small shower with cracked tiles. Not a place I would want to spend time in. The host was pleasant and informative and luckily it was a speedy stay for us. The room rate was very high for what we got and will not be back. We have stayed in Bath on numerous occasions and never had a bad experience until now.

The room smelled damp, the bathroom fan was not working and there was mould ingrained in the tile grout. Manager was made aware and was unable to change rooms as fully booked. He contacted the owners to make them aware that I was not happy. I am awaiting their decision as to any reimbursement for this sub standard room.

I spent one night there with my father and expected that this place would have been a good example of a historic type building and room. That is not what this place is. The room was musty and very cold as the heating system was broken. Tv was a small computer monitor that didn’t work that well. The beds were of very low quality and we could feel the springs in them The bathroom shower was practically unusable it was so small. I would not stay there again.

The hotel was clean and in a good location. The room was a very strange layout, but that’s fine. The bed was terrible, the tv did not work, the shower was small and very weak, the lavatory was oddly low, there were no plug sockets by the bedside tables and the radiators could not be turned off. We were told to put our towels over the radiator to prevent it getting too hot. We opened the window, but were also on the lower ground floor and slightly concerned about security, especially since our window was next to the entrance to the garden. We needed to let the hair dryer run for a bit before using as it was dusty. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to others.

my friend if going to London for 4 days are Christmas to a 4 star spa hotel for less than double what I paid for this and is laughing!

The Manager could not offer us any alternate room, or options to improve the situation. With my partner having a health condition we were forced to walk out and pay for alternate accomodation

Will next time read other reviews 1st. the place need a total refurbishment. Our 1st room we stayed in the rooms had cobwebs everywhere. They only clean-up to 6' No higher, window didn't shut so we could hear the noise from outside so only got 2 hrs sleep as well as the 4-poster bed was held together with corner brackets & not glued at all so moved & creaked every time we moved. The bathroom door lock fitted wrong way up. We complained & got moved the 2nd room was half the size & the only way we could get to the wardrobe was by putting 1 of the chairs on the other to make room. the 4 posters have not been cleaned on the tops for years the window lock was broken so didn't feel safe to leave laptop in the room as on ground floor covered in think dust the shower curtain was yellow in colour at the bottom & stain around the tiles & didn't have a shower as felt dirty to use. be careful if you book the breakfast as it's a set meal & only between 8am & 9 15 am so can't have a lay in no matter what.

I also stupidly did not read any reviews before l booked it .Staff pleasant enough but very old hotel in need of major refurbishment .l also felt it was dirty esp the shower which needed a good clean . Property was conveniently placed and very well priced esp for Bath. It needs quite a lot of TLC. On the plus side, the room we stayed in was clean, shower was hot and the linen was all fine. There were just lots of little bits that needed some tlc, tv didn't work, shower was leaking so the room smelled badly of damp, furniture and lamps were rickety, curtain was missing its finial etc etc. Small jobs that could be done easily but just haven't been. Overall the hotel is badly in need of new carpets and a general spruce up. You get the impression the owners are not really that bothered or don't want to spend the money. I wouldn't stay again, but for what we wanted it did the job.

Disappointing.

There were some positives in our stay - free car parking, handy location, clean beds and clean bathroom - but this hotel is in desperate need of updating. It is tired and had a slightly unpleasant smell throughout. Carpets were not in a nice condition and everything just needed a good scrub. Nice that hotel suggests leaving towels on towel rail if you don’t want them replacing, eco friendly, but unfortunately there was not a towel rail or hook in sight in the bathroom or room! Garden pretty but ruined by the pool that clearly hasn’t been cleaned or used for a long time.

My parents in there 70s wanted me to arange the 2 nights in bath . I found this hotel . But then when they arrived . They was not happy at all . 3 flooors up in the roof they stayed . Both my parents have health conditions . There was no ensuite they shared no hot water . No toilet rolls . After first drink in the room when they arrived there was no one to ask for more . As manager was rude . Very disappointed

Convenient for walking in to Bath although a good 20 minute with a very steep hill. We were on top floor - small staircase so if you have accessibility issues you’d need to be on the ground floor. Quite old fashioned and our bathroom was across the corridor although still private but not so great for those middle of the night toilet trips. We didn’t have breakfast - we were told it was cooked breakfast only no juice / cereal etc so we ate in Bath at the many options there. It was cheap and did the job - no frills but for the price didn’t expect any

This is the filthiest hotel we have ever stayed in. Staff so rude that almost becoming aggressive, bathroom riddled with black mould, worst breakfast.

We paid £165 for a bed & breakfast room. On arrival, we were told that breakfast is not included. I showed them the email from Expedia mentioning the breakfast included and I was told that it is my responsibility to figure it out with Expedia. After a lot of back and forth, the man agreed to add the breakfast as if he is doing a great favour to us.

Then he told us that we need to check-in between 2 and 6. But we were planning to go for the City tour so asked him if we can do the paperwork now and so we can come later in the evening. Again all the excuses that the paperwork is not ready, the room is not ready etc. I asked him to see the room even if dirty and it turned out that it was all set. Then he agreed to do the paperwork, which was just a sign.

The room was worst, the floor was so damp that we could not walk bare feet on it and the bathroom was filled with black mould.

The breakfast was so bad that we could not finish it. No cereals, no juices, half-cooked eggs and tomatoes.
