I contacted the hotel after leave and showed th all photos and they never responded! Bath was dirty under the bed was filled with cobwebs and dust

The building is gorgeous, and our room was well-heated with a peaceful view over a quiet field. The location is excellent, just a five-minute walk from Bath city centre, and the receptionist was very friendly.
However, our experience was let down by unexpected extra charges. A 10% service charge was requested at checkout, which should have been clearly included in the room price. Similarly, although the listing advertises a “superb breakfast included,” the included option was only a bacon/sausage roll, with a full English costing £10 extra. The lack of upfront pricing transparency soured an otherwise lovely stay.

The property was a fine old listed building. Consequently the room was a little cramped, and the bathroom adequate, but a warm and comfortable overall experience. The included breakfast was simple and enjoyable with some interesting choices, more for a fee. Unfortunately although the price was agreed up front and part paid, on checkout a further 10% was added but without an invoice. On checking later it was found to be a discretionary service fee, mentioned only in small print. This soured an otherwise pleasant stay.

Hotel was a lovely Georgian property but decor a bit tired in places particularly in our room. The young staff were very friendly, and helpful but we did feel they were stretched especially at breakfast time. It was very warm when we visited and the aircon in bedroom was not v efficient. Felt the service charge should have been made clearer at time of booking & that it was discretionary.

I would very definitely stay at The Windsor Townhouse again, not only because it was conveniently located within easy walking distance of Bath city centre, but also because all the staff made me feel very welcome and ensured that I enjoyed being their guest. This townhouse is a four-storey building that’s part of an impressive 18th century Bath stone terrace. It’s appropriately decorated and furnished in bright, clean period style, and all the rooms have appropriate names. The charming leather fob on my key ring was embossed with the name ‘Henrietta’.
I didn’t mind that there was no lift, because I enjoyed imagining what it would have been like two centuries ago climbing the staircase with its ornate banisters. Unlike a Georgian resident, I had the benefit of an en suite shower room with fresh white towels and a generous supply of good quality toiletries. The room had everything I needed, and more, with plenty of sockets to plug in the appliances (including a microwave, and a small fridge containing sachets of fresh milk for hot drinks) and to recharge my phone.
After a good night’s sleep in the comfortable bed, I went down to the light and airy ground floor dining room to choose the “Bath breakfast” (a delicious “full English”) from a tempting menu that invited me to help myself to juices and cereals from the Dresser. A pot of tea, and a basket of toast with dishes of jam and marmalade were brought to my table, and I was pleasantly full before being offered more.

Damp in Room & check out indirect/hidden costs
It was a disappointing stay. The room was poor and full of damp odour (and bathroom damp). The breakfast was average. The maximum street parking is 2 hours, which costs £6. Unknown to us, a service charge of 10% was added to our account at check-out. I wasn't content. After protesting about the additional bill/pricing, which did not match Hotel.com, the receptionist reluctantly removed the expensive service charge costs. I did not take photos of the extent of the black visible damp .. as I didn't want to spoil further my stay

Not 5 star room nothing like pictures very small decor very tired needs refurbishing floor in bedroom very uneven and sloping in bathroom bath not worth having as tiny chipped and rusting mould on tiles and ceiling in bathroom! Bedroom very dusty with dirty carpets tiny tv and no usb charging curtains didn’t close properly and no main switches by bed to turn lights off had to get out of bed!!!

We had a lovely weekend stay at the Windsor Town house hotel. The staff we very friendly and made our stay pleasurable.
The breakfast was very nice as well.
The only negatives were that our room had a broken curtain pole so the curtain was missing and the water bottle was left empty when we arrived.

Close to RR station, clean, well kept. But if you use air conditioner, be advised condensation will drip on table below, making everything wet by morning. Place towel underneath Lodging on 3rd fl with no lift. best not bring heavy luggage. Breakfast starts at 8 a.m., a bit late for me leaving at 6:30 a.m.

There has been not any trouble of my stay. The access to the house and the room are straightforward and simple. The location is great. A few minutes from the city centre by walking, but is on the quiet and grand street. The breakfast was good with a few choices which is a surprise to me.
My only issue is with the bathroom, which is tiny. I found it quite difficult to get into and out the shower cubic.
My overall experience is positive. Very comfortable place to stay for a night.

An honest review
Our reception was welcoming and friendly, unfortunately the reception is only open a short time (until 2 pm). This hotel has no parking, no bar, nobody around - why have I paid £250 for this.
Furnishings are dated, chairs were fraying, and it was last decorated in the dark ages. Scuffs on the wall, dust everywhere. Double bed consisted of two single (trampoline) beds rammed together with a grand canyon between you both. Carpet is very old so we kept our socks on just to be sure.
There are spare dog blankets in the drawer if you get cold.
Overloaded multi electric extension leads with no overload protection. The Lyons go-joe coffee packets left in the room were awful. Not even a box of tissues available.
This is 3-star at best, might be better with:
- New carpets
- Repainted room
- Proper double bed
- New mattress
- Sort electrics out in the room (needs updating)
- Coffee pod system
- Some wine glasses for the room
5 star hotels do not do plastic flowers on the table at breakfast.
There were several lightbulbs out on the main staircase.
Breakfast was a locally sourced:
- 1x Walls sausage
- 1x skinny piece of bacon
- With cold beans served on a cold plate
On the plus side the service at breakfast was good & polite. The small bits of fruit at the start were a nice touch.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night in early December for our wedding anniversary and the room was terrible… Not worth the money we spent and disappointed with our experience.
Below were the main issues:

Bedrooms somewhat dated and small. Fire alarm went off at 5.20am. Went outside. No staff on the premises to ensure the building had been totally evacuated. Surely a severe breach of Fire Regulations. Everyone at a loss to know what to do. Very worrying.

Lovely four poster bedroom. Slightly tired decor but characterful. Amazing friendly service and best breakfast for a long time. £25 per day parking permit for any space in zone 1. Hot shower. Not modern and spotless but rustic and well lived in and cosy. Like staying at a well off relative’s! Amazing food in town (Tacos at Dos Diedos, Thai at Thaikhun and Greek at a great place you should Google). Thermal baths were a treat

Location close to city center is good and staff very friendly. Overall the room was beautiful but mattress was too soft, I was rolling to the center of the bed. Air conditioning unit (or something else) continued to make noises regularly during the night. There was no ventilation in the bathroom. Bottom line I find the price relatively high.

This was truly one of the most fantastic guest houses I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. A beautiful building with a great view and perfect, thoughtfully fitted rooms.
Most importantly though - Kat who runs the show is the most friendly, caring and delightful person you could ever hope to meet. She took such great care of us from the second we arrived and made sure to we were happy and settled right from the outset. She is a remarkable woman running a wonderful guest house.
I would recommend The Windsor to absolutely anyone I know.

A short walk to The Holbourne Museum and Poultney Bridge.
The room was fresh and clean. Found fresh melon in the fridge which was a nice touch. Staff were very friendly.

The location of the hotel was excellent but i would no way rate this as five star hotel.we arrived and greated by a friendly receptionist and we were taken to our two rroms which was at the very top floor of the hotel which consisted of 63 steps..both rooms were very small and our room had a damp smell, both rooms had dust on the skirting boards especially near the side we slept and behind the bed, the damp smelling room window had condensation, both rooms had problems with the drainage one the shower tray and the other the basin. They should also look at their continental breakfeast as it wss missing a few items to what a continental consists of.

Almost walked past it when we were looking for it. I was certainly expecting something a bit more glamorous.The room had a 4 poster bed,which was very comfortable. We didn’t have breakfast so I can’t comment even though it was included in the room rate. In all,it was a pleasant stay although I was left slightly bemused by its 5* rating on the site

This hotel is cute but absolutely in no way a 5 star property.
The staff are polite and friendly, however, there is nobody at check in to assist with bags. Secondly, no elevator is available ( which I was pre-warned about by the hotel), so I was left to lug my bag up to the attic without any help.
The check in and staff assistance are only available at certain hours of the day. I forgot my toothbrush and called down to ask for one however I was told that Waitrose is down the road and I could find one there. Towels are not changed daily, and the room was pokey, boiling hot and falling apart. There were no shower caps, sewing kits etc or any water in the room. Breakfast was fine, but finished very early at 9.30. If you want any hot food, a surcharge is applied. There is water in the lobby, however for a price. When I was checking out at 11, the breakfast tables were still dirty, having not been cleaned for approx. 1.5 hours. Was absolutely baffled by the 5 star rating. I felt I had overpaid tremendously

Freezing cold - heating didn't work
It was snowing outside and the hotel's heating wasn't working. The staff were very polite and apologetic, and gave us portable heaters for the room, but it was unacceptable. It's understandable that heating systems break down, but there seemed to be no impetus to fix it in a hurry. For three nights the heating was broken.

Hotel is within walking distance of city and all attractions. Railway station is about 10 mins walk along the river too. Taxi is only UKP7.00 . Lots of great restuarants close by. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room had a couple blown bulbs but didnt realise until morning. Yes the accommodaiton could do with a little paint and perhaps explanations about shower😄 but after lots of travelling one gets used to strange showers. Staff answered all my questions about \"where is and how to get to\". WOULD stay again and happy to recommend this truly english townhouse hotel.

My friend and I loved our stay at The Windsor for our spa break. It is within 10min walk to Thermae spa and very close to all the local amenities. We were very impressed by their warm hospitality and motivation to make their guests' stay incredibly welcoming, from check in to check out. The room was very clean and comfortable and the included continental breakfast was lovely. I would most definitely stay here again. Very reasonable price paid for the room, could not gave asked for more. Thank you

Good period hotel close to Bath Town Centre
An impressive terraced town-house with good-sized, well equipped rooms. An ample continental breakfast of fruit, cereals, toast and croissants, tea/coffee with the option of a cooked breakfast at extra cost. Just minutes from the Town Centre, Roman Baths and Spa which made a good day out. Lots of good quality restaurants, bars and cafes nearby. We travelled by train so parking was not an issue, the Town-House layout means there are stairs but this would not be a problem for most people.

Small but pleasant single room. Lovely toiletries and towels provided. Tea and coffee making facilities were welcome. The bed valance was extremely grubby and needed a good wash but the rest of the bed linen was perfectly clean.

Last minute booking, Reviews were a bit hit and miss and did not do this hotel much justice. On arrival at hotel staff were pleasant and polite, good sized room very clean, bed huge. Would definatley stay at this hotel again. The location for town great.

Lovely comfortable hotel in a central position
We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Windsor, Bath. The hotel is individual - a pleasant change from big chain hotels where every room is the same. Our room was lovely and warm and comfortable with thick, fluffy towels and good quality toiletries. The continental breakfast was just right to set us up for the day. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our break. We were in very easy reach of the city centre which was less than a ten minute walk away and we will definitely come back to the Windsor when we come to Bath again.
