The hotel carpets all need changing or at least cleaning, the floor boards creeked so bad! We were afraid to walk on them for fear of waking the people below us. It seemed like the owners were out to make as much money for as little cost to themselves, ie what hotel charge you £15 a night to park your car, when you have already paid £360 for 2 nights far a box double room? At least there was an iron.

A very comfortable stay at the Lansdown Grove. Helpful staff and a warm welcome. Very happy at answering any queries. Parking was pretty packed out and I wasn’t informed of the extra charges for this beforehand. However Bath is not a particularly friendly city for cars, so grateful to have the facility. I would definitely stay again.

We were in Bath for a wedding so didn't spend much time at the hotel but we were able to drop our bags early in the morning and meant I could get a parking space. Got back to the hotel about 1am, quick check in process and given our keys. Room was great for what we needed although the floor baords were creeky so worried about disturbing rooms around us. People in the room above were noisy but thats not the hotels fault. Check out was easy in the morning. Just oaid £15 for the parking and we were done. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment

Friendly staff, very convenient location for centre of city, frequent buses just outside hotel.
A compact single room, rather warm foam topper/ mattress, a tired bathroom needing some decoration (painting ceiling), wobbly toilet seat, detached shower sealant, sticking roller blind cord. Could do with a surface/ shelf for toiletries and a magnifying mirror.

Room was very comfortable and clean, just what was needed after a long hot day sightseeing in Bath. Took the number 31 park and ride bus up the hill, which stopped right opposite the hotel. Five minute walk back down the hill in the morning.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

We visited again after a few years to celebrate our anniversary at the hotel we got married in.
We arrived early via the park and ride bus which stops outside and left our bags at reception.
When we returned, check in was quick. The room was lovely and spacious and the shower was great.
Breakfast was lovely. We will definitely return.

The staff was excellent. The hotel is a cool old building, glad it had a lift for taking our cases up. We had a 2 twin bedroom it was roomy enough, bathroom was clean and bright.
The prices though were a bit high, parking 15 pound a day is ridiculous, and over 10 pound for a pint of lager. They can get away with this though because there are no other pubs close by.
We walked down the big hill every day and then in the evening took the bus back up, super handy with the stop right in front of the hotel.

The downstairs areas are lovely, really spacious and nicely decorated but when I booked i booked a garden room, we arrived and there was scaffold on the front of the garden rooms which I paid extra for as it was our anniversary. I complained to the front desk to change rooms or be compensated. The man said it does say it on your email from Expedia…. It didnt! he dug around online and found a small ‘hidden’ paragraph which was not transparent at all when booking. I wouldn’t have booked the room for our anniversary if I had read that, which was nowhere to be seen when booking. Luckily someone else cancelled and they upgraded us to the city view bedroom.
We felt the bedroom was a bit bland, cheap wardrobe and dressing table which didn’t look good in the high ceiling room, tatty ceiling paper peeling, pillows were lumpy/ hard, we just didn’t think how much we paid, reflected the bedroom. Would have liked an unopened bottle of water, but we did have a fruit plate, small chocolates and a card from the hotel wishing us a happy anniversary…. Very thoughtful.

Just visited this hotel this weekend. Its slightly out of the centre and on a steep bank but that didn't put us off. The rooms were lovely, great bed and bathroom with a lovely shower. Breakfast was fabulous and Brad our waiter was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we would definitely recommend

Nice one night stay in the hotel which is well situated for the city down the hill. Room and bathroom a decent size and tidy. Useful guide to Bath mag in room. Car park holds decent number of cars on site which is very handy. Very good cooked breakfast cooked to order. Building is attractive and has a bar though did not use that. Would recommend it

I was pleased with my stay at Lansdown Grove. It was clean, the room was cute with an amazing view, and the staff were kind and helpful. It is an old building and you can hear every footstep in the hallway, but it didn’t bother me.

It’s not located in the city center, but it was easy to get to. Just take the bus from the center up the hill and you are there.

I would stay here again the next time I come to Bath. Thank you!

The staff were very friendly and when asked to give help on how to tour the city and what to go look at they gave an expert at the planned little route that they're drawing them out for us.

A nicely decorated room, well located within walking distance for the main tourist attractions. The bathroom was very spacious, the hot water was very hot, and it was quiet around the room. The bedding was clean and comfortable. The magazine provided was also very interesting. The breakfast was great - a lot of variety, hot and delicious, and the staff were very friendly. The only thing was it would have been good to have parking within the cost of the room, we had to park at the park and ride and walk down which took some time. Overall a very pleasant stay for our first time in Bath.

located at the top of a long & rather steep hill leading down to the centre of Bath.
The hotel has a modern style which has been blended tastefully within a contemporary period building. Upon arrival, the hotel appeared clean & well presented, with a cosy bar area & an ample dining room. Our guest room was well appointed with ample room to relax. The en-suite bathroom was well appointed & spacious.
Breakfast was very good with a choice of cooked breakfast from a generous menu, or a very adequate continental buffet with a generous choice of cereals, fruit, pastries & toasted bread.
The property did offer paid onsite parking which, unfortunately was provided on a 1st come basis which is non reservable.
We found the staff to be very friendly & obliging which made our stay pleasant & relaxing.
We would gladly recommend this hotel & plan to stay here again in the future.

Staff were absolutely lovely and helpful. The room itself was clean, although we did note some staining on the furniture. Bed linen was fairly standard hotel fare as was the mattress.

The trouble for us was that the room was relentlessly hot, despite it only being 13°C outside. Even at night it seemed to continually gain heat. There were fans provided, thankfully, but we still slept poorly. Noise filters through the hotel relatively easily but I feel you can't be too critical when it's an older building like this—it's just noticeable when you're awake at 3am.

In contrast, the shower never managed to make it beyond lukewarm and was cold at night. This was strange because the tap in the bathroom could be scalding. We mentioned it to the staff (who, on the whole, we can't praise enough) but they weren't able to give much help.

Location was excellent and the price was competitive. I just can't rate higher when I slept so poorly.

We were expecting a lovely authentic style not a Travelodge style.
£22 each for breakfast is chargeable, which isn't shown as extra until after booking and is on top of over £500 for a 2 night stay
Family room is just a double with pull out sofabed and not very roomy
On site parking is £15 per night which isn't indicated before booking.
Balcony closed off and unusable couldn't even open the door to it for some fresh air was not told until after booking that there would be work being undertaken but didn't expect scaffolding outside our window and not being able to use the balcony at all.
Staff at reception were very dismissive when l complained.
I would not stay here again. In fact if I could have afforded to take the financial loss l would have left and stayed somewhere else
Luckily the one saving grace is that the hotel is clean.

Having parking in bath was a plus. The location is also good proving the opportunity to walk down to the town, with the option to walk back or take the bus which stops right outside the door.

We had an email 2 days before arrival to say there would be work happening which we did address on arrival and were told it would not start till the Monday only to be woken early this am Friday 27th March with someone shouting to close windows to prevent dust going in rooms!! We had a patio room so very spacious and all you need is on hand coffee machine biscuits, toiletries and lovely and clean only downside when it says double room the bed is that, a double, we are so used to having two singles joined in previous hotels that the bed was too small and short for us being 6ft tall.
Breakfast was freshly made to order and lots of choice from continental but was pricey at £20 each.

Towels were huge and fluffy, soaps were great-smelling. The room was quiet and roomy with a great shower. There were some dings on some walls that could use a spot of paint. The lock on the bathroom door could be updated too. I only notice these things because I’m the wife of a landlord.

The staff is extremely knowledgeable & helpful, and the location is great if you want to be close to all tourist spots but stay somewhere a bit more quiet. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Bath!

What a fantastic hotel. The staff were brilliant—super friendly and helpful, whether it was the day or night reception. The location is perfect, with pretty much everything just a short walk away.

What we loved:
The entire hotel was immaculate.
Our room was lovely and really spacious.
Genuinely great staff all round.

The minor downsides:
Parking was £15 a night. While that's actually a decent price for the city centre, it would have been nice if it was just included.
That steep hill on the way back! The views are great, but the walk is a bit of a workout. (Though there is a bus that stops right outside, which is a great option).

Overall, it's honestly one of the best hotels we've stayed in. We'd 100% recommend it

We only stayed for 1 night while visiting our son at university. We did not use any of the hotel facilities, we checked in late, slept for the night and left fairly early in the morning. It felt an old but nice building, room was nice and clean. The only criticism was the noise. The road by the hotel was fairly busy, late at night and early in the morning, therefore there was a lot of noise coming from outside. Also the floor boards were very old and noisy, every time someone walked pass our room in the hall, we heard them walk and talk very clearly, same from the room above us.
