Booked this place because due to some other big event all other hotels/capsules were already full 2 months in advance, now I understand why this wasn't. Will not stay again unless it's an emergency.
I paid around 6000 yen (price of a business hotel in Nagoya under normal circumstances).

Pros:
- toilets and showers were clean (however the shower room part and the bottom of the shower have a bit of mold)
- staff was ok (I speak Japanese )
- common room with free tea/coffee/space to eat
- 99% of female guests were very considerate (I was on the women only floor)
- wi-fi works

Cons:
- extra fees for everything despite the price (towels, slippers, pajama, most amenities). Been to a bunch of capsules all over Japan and never had to pay for ALL these things
- non existent security for your luggage. All left in a common area everyone can access during the day and you also have to pay extra to lock it with the flimsiest of locks. All other places I've been to had some form of lockers. Very tiny safe in your capsule, you gotta pay a deposit for a bigger safe.
-no locker for shoes, anyone can take them
- luggage space for everyone is like 2 meters per 2 and since there is also absolutely no space to open your luggage where the capsules are, you have to line up and wait to do anything with your luggage.
-two toilets/showers for 20+ people
- very very noisy even with earplugs till 23 PM and from 5 AM.
-my dust allergies flares up. No windows and poor air circulation.

近車站，對面有便利店。每層有一個行李存放區，職員會提供一個鎖鏈。床位內的空間比其他青年旅館大。無論床位設計以及行李存放區皆較適合背包客，當天的大型行李有一半都無法上鎖，而且齊人的時候沒有空間打開行李，要用到梳洗區門口位置，非常不方便。女宿只有兩格廁所，以及兩格浴室，繁忙時間需要輪侯。

It's not great if you have big suitcases as the don't fit in the rooms. Even small carry ons won't fit so you have to leave them outside the room and it gets busy with a lot of guests trying to open their bags during peak day and night periods. Other than that, great freebies at the ladies only floor! Was a great experience to have dedicatef place to dry your hair or do your make up. Free tea and juice was also great

Everything about this place was great! Helpful staff, super clean, always cleaning, great wash/bathroom facilities. And it's really close to lots of good stuff, Bicc Camera, a ton of restaurants and convenient stores, Nagoya Station, and a small anime/manga street of shops!

The place is conveniently located, everything is very decent in the property. But unfortunately, I wasn’t able to rest well because a group of Chinese ladies wouldn’t stop talking to each other, early in the morning.

This is of course not the Hostel fault and it’s something that happens often when you share space with strangers.

The emperor was visiting Nagoya that day and that left no other options. I’d stay again but would definitely get earplugs next time.

Nice central location close to the train station. Food nearby. 30 minute walk to the Toyota museum. Staff were mostly friendly, not the most helpful. 300 yen to leave your luggage with them for the day after checking out. Clean facilities, comfortable bed.

Its very easy to locate the hostel, which is only a few minutes from Nagoya Station.

The staff are very nice and helpful.

There are lots of travelling information available in the lobby, filed in different folder by location/POI.

The room are clean, and the bedding are comfortable. Washroom and shower room are clean and tidy. Its surprised that a TV/computer was installed in the capsule for use.

Washing machine, dryer, and free wifi are available and easy to use.

Great location for train station. Street is a bit seedy. Konbini and supermarket within walking distance. 15min walk from Noritake Gardens. Free drinks appreciated. Air con way too strong in 2F dorm - freezing! Mattress typical of Japan, thin and uncomfortable.

Hidden in a small quiet alley

I arrived in Nagoya at a busy weekend so this was the only cheap/convenient option left. I felt OK safe but the hostel didn't offer the same security level offered by other hostels (a separate lift for women and key cards for designated floors etc). I only had a small backpack with me but travellers with suitcases will definitely find it very inconvenient - there's no room to do anything in the sleeping area. The worst thing is we have to do our own bedding in that tiny cubicle! The mattress is very thin and the cubicle very stuffy. Needless to say, I did not have a good sleep. However, the shower and powder area is extremely nice. I didn't have to queue. I think the hostel is catered for locals who really just need a shower and a quick rest while waiting for the first trains.

Nice hotel within budget and very close to the JR

This is my first time that slept in the hostel dormitory. It’s not that bad if you seek for privacy. Just stay overnight is ok. The staff was nice to tell you all info. It’s so convenient that it’s very close to the JR Nagoya Station. It’s not hard to find the hotel. Overall is ok for me.

The hostel is located near the Nagoya Main Station. There is also lots of convenient stores and restaurant nearby. It is also located near some shopping place such as Bic Camera. Staff is friendly and they provide free postcard and drinks too.

Best values for the price

Next to Nagoya station (the main one). For the price you got TV, a computer and a safe inside the capsule and kind of private because the changing area is individual. Need to put the bed sheets ourselves. The hangers inside are very helpful.

Hotel close to Nagoya Station

Checked in before the midnight cut-off but the staff member said they would've been able to check me in even if I was late. You do have to put the covers on your futon, mattress, and pillow. This may be hard for people who have never stayed in a capsule hotel before but I was fine.

The sleeping space is quite spacious and there is a safe in the room for your valuables. The toilets and showers are good, location is very good next to station and food. The hotel has many things but you have to pay for it eg. A towel for bathing, laundry detergent, ear plugs. I was surprised that at least a towel wasn't provided, it's a basic hygiene necessity, they don't change your put sheets on your bed either, so you make your own bed and keep the sheets till you leave, if you stay here make it a very quick stop. Staff leave you alone to do your own thing, they are pleasant.

The place has very friendly staff and very helpful. The place is also very clean and in good location, just a minute away from train station. Although the place is a bit cram and the capsule is very small to make your bed, it is still comfortable. I was unfortunate that I met bad guests, someone stole my slipper and make noises in the sleeping area.

I had a good stay at guest house wasabi, on my way I got lost but a quick call to the front desk and they helped me find my way. It's very close to the train station and subway station so you should have no problem getting out to the rest of the city. The building itself is kinda down an alley and not easily seen from the Main Street. The staff also gave great food recommendations. The room was a basic capsule style room with a futon and but each room has its own tv, safe, computer and hangers for clothes which I thought was neat. Good for a budget.

It was not easy to find this hostel (more direction needed on hotels.com or on the hostel's very own website), as Nagoya station is pretty darn big. However it's really only a 5 minute walk from one of the exits - look for the Denny's across the street from Nagoya station. Turn in the street right behind the Denny's and you'll be there. Very comfortable, great bedding; capsules are made from wood so they are not squeaky at all when people climb in and out. Be sure to ask for the top bunk when you can. Otherwise, very comfortable, but be sure to bring your own towels (otherwise you can also rent them for a fee, but I'd prefer bringing my own anyway). Free coffee, tea, juice and miso soup downstairs at the lobby. Computer, outlet and safety box inside each capsule, but my computer didn't work. If I have to make a quick trip to Nagoya again, chances are I'd stay here next time- it's cheap and convenient!

GREAT FOR SOLO TRAVELLER

I'm 100% satisfied with the hostel! The staff are all friendly & helpful. The dorm style bed space is a bit small for me but overall it's all right. I had a VERY GOOD sleep. Wish I could stay longer but my schedule doesn't permit. If ever, I visit Nagoya again, this hostel is in my list!

The area around the hostel was kind of sketchy looking with many DVD/Porno shops. The hostel itself was great, it had nice setup in the beds to allow for TV or PC needs. The central lounge area was right next to the lobby so did not seem like a place to hang out with other guests.

I am rating this according to the price I spent. It was a GREAT deal for the price. It isn't a luxury hotel. I spent <$30 for a place to sleep. It had lots of great facilities in a VERY clean environment. It was one of 11 spaces or so on a big clean tatami mat floor. It wasn't the greatest in terms of privacy or whatever, but it was AWESOME to have a nice, safe, clean place to sleep within a few blocks of the train station. And nice people running the place that could speak English in case I didn't speak Japanese.

To be honest, a hostel is not my first choice of accommodation because I am a light sleeper and I value my privacy much. However, due to convenience and budget, I chose Guest House Wasabi Nagoya Ekimae and I was not disappointed at all. Firstly, this hostel is about a 5 to 10 minutes walk from Nagoya station, which makes it super convenient (even if you have heavy luggages or backpacks like me). You can get to most attractions easily either using the subway, trains or buses. Secondly, it has everything nearby: Convenience stores, shopping from low- to high-end, supermarket, Daiso, etc. Third, you get free postcards from the hostel lobby and the staff are quite friendly. Fourthly, all cubicles come with curtains which you can screen off for privacy and earplugs does the silencing job for me. Fifth, the shared shower rooms / toilets are clean and hairdryers are provided. I have to say that this hostel was a great deal given its affordable price!

Capsule hotel. Other reviewers mentioned it wasn't social - there's a common area and booklets with sights etc. I checked in on a Sunday and it was almost all businessmen but when leaving on Tuesday there was a lot more tourists, so it might just depend when you go. There's a limited amount of places to stay in Nagoya and this was clean, convenient, and cheap.

Good capsule hotel

I spent two enjoyable nights here. The location is excellent, 2min walk from Nagoya station. Bars, convenience stores, restaurants, etc all around. The staff were helpful and friendly and speak at least 3 languages fluently (Japanese, English, Korean). The bed was comfortable considering it is a capsule. The washrooms were clean and adequate.
My only criticism is regarding luggage storage. It consists of a small space for everyone in a dorm and all there is is a rail and bicycle chain locks. Your bag is secure, but not necessarily its contents. However, there are safety deposit boxes in the capsules for valuables.

Mieux que ce que l'on s'imagine

Une très très agréable nuit dans cette auberge! Personnels au top, confort, propreté, petit prix, tout est impeccable, n’hésitez pas! De plus il y a un coin boisson avec thé, jus et soupe miso gratuit, ce qui est un vrai plus. Très bonne expérience (1 nuit).
