The location and the room size stood out for me the most. As well as the staff, they were helpful and accommodating especially when we wanted to do luggage forwarding to Tokyo. They explained things well and they made sure they got all our info right without rushing us. I also like the foyer of the hotel, they had the weighing scale out in the foyer for guests to use. Overall, I would definitely book with them again :)

Hotel located next to the major shopping district of Osaka. The hotel was honestly as expected of a hotel in japan. Rooms arent too big. The biggest negative was our room had a very strong lingering cigarette smell, the window didnt close tightly so sometimes gets loud at night and we got unlucky towards the last 2 days with annoying loud tourist next door.

This place is good. What really makes this hotel great is the location. Everything is close by and easy to get to.

The room is small and simple, but very clean and comfortable. The staff are nice and helpful, and the check-in/check-out process was super easy.

It’s true that the amenities are limited, but it’s perfect if you just need a place to rest after exploring the city all day. They always had extra towels available, and the place was kept very tidy.

Overall, a convenient and pleasant stay in a great area!

First of all, thanks to the staff that speaks english because they were very helpful from check in to check out. The cleanliness seemed fine at first but because we don’t get turn down service daily, you start to see the duvet and they had blood stains!! We just endured it and shared blankets until it was turned down and they still had stains! The restaurants are pretty far except for the family mart that was close to us. We ate at family mart most of the time because after a full day of walking, we just don’t want to walk another 20 minutes to eat. Overall, our experience is not the greatest and I will not book at this hotel again.

The hotel is nice and their staff was great, but the bathroom smelled like urine. We had to ask them to clean it. It was still not as clean as I was expecting. The toilet has some areas where dirt and nastiness stays. It doesn’t seem like it is being cleaned properly.

We chose this hotel because of its convenience to Dotonburi, so nice to walk a few blocks and be in the midst of bustling activities. We only got breakfast 1 of the mornings, and suggest booking it in advance. It's a bit of hassle to find a place to get breakfast. Very close to the metro station, lots of restaurants around. Highly recommend!

사진에서는 작아 보여서 걱정했는데 가보니 생각보다 넓어서 놀랐고 화장실도 깨끗하고 좋았어요! 도톤보리 거리에서도 도보 5분 정도고 글리코상까지는 7-10분이었던 거 같아요! 숙소 바로 옆에 패밀리 마트 있고 건너편에 로손 편의점 있어서 그것 또한 너무 좋았어요. 지하철역 몇 개가 너무 멀지 않게 있어서 편하게 이용했어요. 너무 편안하게 좋게 이용해서 추천드립니다~!!

Stayed in a triple room (2 adults and 1 child) in Jan 2024 and it was a reasonable size for Japan accommodation. With 3 large suitcases it was a bit of a tight squeeze but doable with minimal movement around the room. Clean and tidy and liked how they provided a night shirt for sleeping in. Used the laundry twice and the dryers don't dry clothes properly, after 1 hour in the dryer the clothes are still quite damp and require line drying for the day to get them dry. Staff are friendly but they don't help make/change restaurant reservations which can be difficult for a traveller where lots of restaurants don't have online reservations. About a 10 minute walk to the busy area of Dotonbori with Family Mart and 7-eleven next door.

We stayed there for 2 nights and my overall rating is 3/5 which is impacted by the following:
* it was not as close to a train station; it’s particularly hard if you have a luggage/carry on.
* there was a no-room-cleaning-get-bottle-water policy that we opted for, but they did not give us water for all of the nights staying there
* there was no sanitary bag in the bathroom that I could use; even though I called and asked for one, they did not understand what I was talking about.
* the shower ran out of hot water fairly quickly, so me and my partner could not shower back to back.
* they did not refresh tea/coffee in our room but provided it when we called them.
* the neighborhood was not clean and there was a smell of sewage

Upon check in i was asked to pay an additional 1000 yen per day for the duration of our stay for our daughter because they consider everyone as adults, no more child booking. Even Expedia allowed to book it with a child.

The hotel cannot hel you book for a shuttle or taxi.servce if you need to go to the airport or anywhere. Because they said they don't do it. Staff speak so little English. Cannot help much if you are a first time traveller. Still quite far from the train stations.

Won't recommend for a family with kids.

The room is tight small but it is thoroughly cleaned, functional and well organized. You can tell that they really did a great job of maintaining the hotel because the smell in the hallway is freshly clean and comforting, same thing in our room. The best thing is they provide clean towels and robe everyday (you wont able to use it all for the rests of your stay for sure.) Room cleaning is not everyday but is scheduled. The airconditioner in our room is so quiet, as well as the portable air purifier they provided. Bonus point also is they have coin laundries in the 2nd floor. The hotel is situated near (walking distances) the shoppings and eating areas (Dotonbori area). There is also a nearby 5 minute walk subway station. Overall I like the hotel and its location. Highly recommend!

Usual Japanese style micro rooms - also a very strange allocation of rooms as we booked two and the adult and child were given the bigger room rather than the two adults.

Our amazing 5 nights at SMILE

Our second stay at this hotel, simply because of its convenience to walk to Dontonburi & Shinsaibashi Area. This time round we booked the twin room which is much more spacious. Hotel has this go gree initiative, whereby if you opt out for Room Cleaning then you can get free bottled water for each day. We opted out for 2 nights, and they nicely still prepared clean towels & toothbrush, left it at our doorstep. This is a huge plus point for the thought put in. Where other hotels may not provide fresh towels on no room cleaning days. In addition, they also provided a sanitizing spray in room to spray on our coats/ room after a long day out.

The location of the hotel couldnt be better! For japan standards, the room was pretty big and comfy. I think sone of the carpets, mainly in the elevator, as they smelled funny. Great location and friendly staff. We booked a standard room with one bed, meant to sleep to people as online it looked adequate for two tall Australians. However upon arrival the "double bed" room which we had booked more closely resembled a king single and could not comfortably fit two people, the room was a shoebox. We upgraded the room to two single beds and were far happier. Moral of story: BOOK A LARGER ROOM if you aren't two small people.

It’s relatively new and clean. No problems with staff. Bathroom works great.

The location is OK. It’s further than I like from Shinsaibashisuji but there is another station closer by. Uber to Namba is inexpensive (about 700yen) so going to and from the airport is not a problem.

Room For two is on the small side. Common problem in Tokyo/Osaka. It is narrowly manageable, with just enough space to manoeuvre a big suitcase, it’s better than APA.

The hotel is located within walking distance from Dotonbori which is great for shopping purposes and has a great variety of eating choices. It's close to two subway stations so you can get to where you need to go fast. It can get a bit noisy during certain times, but it comes with the territory in that it's also close to clubs and bars in the area. The room can be considered cramped according to Western standards though.

The bathroom was smelly when we checked in. We had a different room after a few days, that room also had a smelly bathroom.
There are only 2 elevators for the whole hotel. During check out time we had to wait at least 15 mins to get on the elevator.
This hotel is very stingy. Check in time is 3PM, check out time is 10AM. After 5 nights of staying, we asked to extend the check out for 1 hour to 11AM, they said ok but need to charge it. I rather they say no.

The location is definitely a plus point. Service is good except not flexible. I booked for 4 nites initially next extended 1 more nite. I requested not to check out but they rejected mi because my selection of room type (between smoking n non smoking) so I will need to checkout n change another room. The last comment- I stay for total 5 nites n I request for late check out for an hour also rejected. I think They onli recognize my last nite not the total of 5 nites. So they are not flexible in this. But overall stay was satisfactory.

Overall it was very good although the staff were inclined to ask us if we wanted to ‘switch’ to a green deal which would mean that we wouldn’t receive room service besides having fresh towels placed outside our room in order to supposedly be better for the environment. This would make more sense if we also weren’t given numerous plastic water bottles as supplement for accepting this deal which seems to defeat the purpose to an extent.
