Stayed here for 7 nights. On initial arrival the room, bed, bed head and table were quite dusty like no one had stayed in that room for a while.

The room is quite small but that’s expected from hotels in Japan.

Great location just off shopping street but since it is quite close to the heart of dotonburi there are a few bars/clubs around which can be quite loud until the AM’s.

Pretty much no amenities provided such as laundry.

Great location, around lots of food and bars, great service staff, an Australian bar right downstairs, clean and hygienic. One point is that the size of the room is really small, similar to those business hotel in Tokyo. Will not be fun for 2 pax although it indicates for 2, it shld be for 1 pax. Other than this, everything else is perfect. I will definitely go back but will be booking a bigger room (if they have it).

Everything about the hotel room was great, clean and tidy. We didn't necessarily need cleaning and new towels for a one night stay and was a little inconvenient that we had to wait outside our room when we arrived back to someone changing our sheets . The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel’s location is probably the best in Osaka, we can access so many restaurants and shops right besides it.

The room is nice and quiet. However, there was mold growing in the washroom: shower curtain was changed after my request, but the mold smell was still present afterwards.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights before our Kobe cruise.
The location is excellent as it's very close to Shinsaibashi shopping street and close to many eateries, some even right next to the hotel.
The rooms are SMALL (typical Japanese hotel rooms), but usable. There was an in-room safe which is convenient. It offers all the daily needs of a hotel.
It offers continental breakfast and a bit more than just coffee, tea and muffins, which is good.
The beds are comfortable and bathrooms are clean.
Only complaint is checkout time of 10am. Too early and have to pay 1,000 yen for each extra hour. Also, there's NO VIEW of the city as the windows are FROSTED. So only daylight comes through during the day.Also the time we were there the breakfast eating area was getting renovated so not many places to eat and the staff persuaded the guests to take food to their rooms.
The price is good for what it offers.
We would stay here again next time we visit Osaka.

Hotel is about 10 minutes walk to Dotonburi and to the train stations around it too. It is quite noisy at night, considering it is around the drinking area. The hotel receptionist are not as friendly as all the other Japanese hotels that I have stayed previously. Room is smaller than expected. The room is quite dusty too, as my purchases are covered in a layer of dust after leaving them for half an hour untouched. The bed is not that clean, as we discovered bed bug bites after staying in this hotel. Overall, the stay in this hotel is just OK.

This hotel is in a great location, both for walking the streets of Dotonbori, but access to transit and getting around the city is generally easy. Staff are friendly and the room size and amenities exactly what I expected for a hotel room in Japan. Streets are still bustling from sundown to sunrise. Bring some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.

The stay for me was great. Location was accessible to all and very near to Shinsaibashi, and a few walks to Dotonbori area. Room was midsize and comfortable and being a 1 year old hotel was an added value. Breakfast was not so bad too. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Bad service from reception

Asked the hotel to make a reservation for us at a restaurant in Kyoto the night before since we needed to leave early the next morning, they said they only do same day reservation, told them the situation and they showed us unwillingness of calling it.
Called the hotel the next day to remind them to book while we were in Kyoto and they simply said cant book. What a terrible service!

Convenient location

About 8 min walk to Dotonbori tourist area. There was a covered shopping arcade that led straight to Dotonbori so we didn't have to walk in the rain. Double room was spacious considering all Japanese hotels are tiny. Close to two subway lines. Free breakfast included was just a few choices of pastries and coffee.

Two nights in Osaka

Had a couple of days to spend in Osaka and decided to give here a try. Standard Japanese hotel in this price range. Very clean, comfortable and unlike most, they offer a continental breakfast included in the price. Staff is very nice and helpful. Area is great to wander and shop. Every type of restaurant around. Subway system is a little complex, but all the lines are close. Day trips to Nara and Kyoto are also easily accessed from Namba station about a 10min walk away.(for JR passes this is handy) overall a comfortable stay, quiet hotel in a busy, exciting location.

Just a few 5-7 min walk from shinsaibashi metro to the hotel. There’s a family mart nearby. Convenient.

My single room is small (13sq.m) but acceptable as hotel rooms in japan were all small. You can control the air con yourself, cool/warm function. Female floor got all toilet amenities u needed, would be better if they have body lotion.

Staff were helpful. Umbrellas were available for borrowing.

I am fine with my stay at Hotel Code Shinsaibashi.

Although we were very late in checking in due to flight delays, the hotel staff promptly replied to all our emails (in english no less!) to reassure us that the front desk will be manned when we reach and even told us to take care in getting to the hotel. It made all the difference to us especially since the start of our holiday was already marred by the delayed flight. Staff was very polite throughout our stay; never failing to greet us at every point possible.

Room was small as expected for Japanese standards but for two persons, it was perfectly fine. Room and hotel overall were very new and clean and despite its size, it had everything we needed. Special mention for its location though- steps away from shinsaibashi shopping street and also super near to shinsaibashi station.

Overall, i would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to spend a relaxing holiday shopping and sight-seeing!

Room size is good with good proxmity to Shinsaibashi and subway. However, the bed and pillow are very hard and bedsheets are very coarse. Have never come across such quality of bed in 3 star hotels. Service is dependent which counter staff serves you when you have request. One of them refused to let my aunt check in first as I booked the hotel under my name. While this might be understandable since the booking was under my name, there were no chairs in the lobby to sit and wait while aunt waited for me to rush back for check in. Overall, location is good but that's about it. Will not recommend my friends this hotel.

Nice and cozy Hotel in Osaka

Hotel Code is a new hospital in Shinsaibashi Osaka. The furniture is brand new. Its biggest advantage is its location - vert close to Shinsaibashi Subway, which makes shopping and dining quite convenient for tourists. The room is, as you would expect, a bit small. The checkout time is 10am which is a bit early to us. Overall quite satisfactory.

GREAT location, very close to Shinsaibashi shopping street and subway station (exit-5). The room was a bit dusty on our 1st nite, but next day it was OK for the rest of our stay. Free breakfast was not impressive at all. We only had it once, and prefer to get some sandwhiches or donuts from nearby convenience store.

Newish hotel in central part of Osaka.
Great location close to subways, shops and Dotinbori nightlife.
Really handy for all things touristy.
We had a twin room which was a decent size, with wierd Japanese toilet and fridge.
Only drawback the window had opaque class-ritten view but it's always good to look out at a new city.
Breakfast super basic, breads and drinks.
Don't make my mistake of applying strawberry jam to the chocolate croissants!
Overall, great hotel, very friendly staff and very reasonable cost.

Beware the Check out early but wonderful place

The hotel is excellent and wonderful. It is brand new Japanese small room hotel. Everything is great but two things A. Their check out time is 10:00am this is a culture cross over experience. If you stay in this hotel. B. The breakfast is totally nothing, but a cup of coffee or tea with a toast or roll. However, as long as you don't expect too much. This is a wonderful hotel and great location.

The hotel looks pretty new, I booked a standard room and they gave me an upgrade. The room was really big for the Japanese standard, everything seemed brand new and super clean. Location is super convenient, really close to shops and restaurantants that are open until late at night. They have a bar downstairs but no menu in English. If given the option I recommend not paying extra for breakfast as it only includes bread, only one kind of pastry, and beverages; besides, there is only a few tables so to get one you need to go very early.

Although we staying in double bedroom is a bit small for 2 people and can't even open 2 luguagues at the same time , however cleanness, conditions of room and facilities provided in room are satisfied.

The hotel is situated close to Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori shopping and eating bonanza. Place is modern with plentiful of outlets. The only thing that was dissatisfactory was the black small hairlike particals on one of the pillows and sheets. Continental breakfast was limited but nice. I would stay there again.

A little hard to find but good value for the position and price.
Rooms are smallish as per normal in Japan but very clean and functional.

Great location but teething issues

This hotel had just opened when we chose to book a stay here. We had a good first impression. Even though the size of the rooms were small, they were clean as everything was new. The bathrooms were generally well-equipped as expected of a typical Japanese hotel.

We stayed here for a total of 6 days with a break in between as we took a few nights out to Takayama. Shortly after moving in, we noticed that the hotel was not running smoothly as expected. We had issues mainly with the housekeeping service. First, They did not replace our used cups or wash them so we would come back to clean ready to us cups. Then, they left a dirty sock in our room which did not belong to us and forgot to refill the tissue box and the liquid soap bottles in the shower. The next day, they removed two face towels that belonged to us when they were cleaning out the bathroom. Although the reception was friendly and tried to help, it seems they have little control over the housekeeping crew.

In terms of hotel facilities, it's a bare minimum. There are no laundry services or printers or PCs. The check-in process was by way of an automated ATM like machine but which worked only for cards that had a 4 digit pin. After several failed attempts on the machine, the staff finally agreed to check us in manually and even that had issues as they nearly lost our card to their ATM machine and manual check in could only be done via an internationally enabled debit card.
