The hotel is lovely, the room wonderful. The staff was very courteous. However, we had two negative experiences.

First, the evening before we left, a gentleman at the counter said he would make arrangements for our 5 am pickup to go to the airport. No such arrangements were made.

We also paid up front for the seafood buffet, which was supposed to last from 7 pm to 11 pm. At 9 pm, at least a third of the serving dishes were empty and what was there had been seriously picked over. They charge the equivalent of 90 USD per person. We definitely did not get our money's worth.

Loved the coffee and snack bar in lobby. Stayed here last year and just love the new refurbished rooms.
Would suggest a grab rail in the shower for safety as it’s slippery when wet and the safe needs to be attached to the wall.

This did not feel like a swissotel at all. Poor management is clear as soon as you walk in. The building appears to not have been renovated in at least 30 years, old carpet, stains on walls, cracks in the tile in the bathrooms. Every time i've stayed in a swissotel previously, as soon as you get to the lobby all staff greet you and are ready to assist. This swissotel you'd be lucky if anyone in the lobby made eye contact with you. The cleaners had the best customer service; every time i saw them they were very pleasant and would greet us with a smile. This swissotel management needs to be flown out to Qatar to see how a swissotel should be run. Buyer beware: the pictures you see on this listing must have been from when they first opened this place decades ago, it looks NOTHING like the pictures you see here. I would've loved to respectfully give some constructive feedback at checkout but (surprise surprise) not a single person asked us how our stay was.

We chose this property specifically as a 5-star hotel opposite Dubai Mall. At the booked hotel address, my family were told “you are not staying here” and redirected to a different building we never selected. Despite an advance request for early check-in (travelling with a toddler), staff spoke rudely and charged USD 50 at 11:00 just to enter. The assigned unit was not 5-star: broken shower, dirty/smelly bathroom, stained linens, damaged sockets; and access to main facilities was refused, although facilities were a key reason for booking.
This experience spoiled a carefully planned family gift and caused distress to an elderly parent and a small child. We have photo/video evidence and have requested a full refund, the USD 50 refund, and compensation through the official channels (Expedia and Dubai Consumer Rights).

Tip for management: please ensure guests are accommodated at the booked hotel address, train staff on empathetic early check-in handling (especially with children), and verify cleanliness and facility access before assigning rooms.

Amazing location. Great value for money

It's my 4th stay in this hotel. The rooms are being renovated and improved from 1 stay to another.
This time, I also got upgraded with no extra charge for an amazing suit.

The only problems were that the water in the shower wasn't hot enough. Also, the water stream in the taps were very weak.

Other than that, the service, the air conditioner, the bed, the space, the cleaning and anything else was amazing.

As good as it gets

So I arrived early in the morning, way before the check-in time. I was early by at least 4-5 hours. My best bet was that the hotel administration would keep my luggage and that I would while away the time roaming around aimlessly in Dubai Mall. The fact that I hadn’t slept the entire night earlier owing to my flight schedule was also weighing on my mind. It is in this backdrop that I tentatively approached the lady at the reception. Her name was Sandra and I right at the outset told her that I know I’m early but I would just request you guys to entertain my luggage and get me a room at your earliest convenience. I was surprised when Sandara not only gave me a room straight away but she also upgraded it. There was another lady in the lobby who was incredibly cheerful and walked me to the elevators. My luggage was deliveries shortly thereafter. I have never been treated like a royalty at any hotel but the work ethic of these guys is just at another level. Highly recommend this hotel. Whenever I come to Dubai again, I’d stay at Swissôtel Al Murooj Dubai. They didn’t abandon me when I needed them. I’m now their loyal customer for life.

The property location is excellent. It is at a walking distance from the Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. Less than a 10 minute walk. However, the property itself was a big disappointment. The apartment was huge for three people. There are 2.5 bathrooms. But the carpet was stinking. It looked like the room hadn't been cleaned in 10 years. There were dirty spots on the carpet. I almost got an asthma attack. It is depressing to see a renowned brand like Swissotel maintain their hotel in such shabby conditions in a prime real estate location such as Dubai downtown.

I recently stayed at Swissôtel Al Murooj Dubai, and I can honestly say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in Dubai. From start to finish, the service was absolutely top-notch.

The reception team were incredible—so friendly, professional, and helpful. They made the check-in process quick and easy, and were always available to assist with anything I needed throughout my stay. It really set the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic visit.

I also want to give a big shoutout to the pool attendants, who were consistently attentive and courteous. Whether it was bringing fresh towels, helping find a great spot by the pool, or simply offering a warm smile, their service was flawless.

And of course, I can’t forget the room cleaning staff. Every day I returned to a beautifully cleaned and organized room. The attention to detail was impressive, and it truly added to the comfort and luxury of the stay.

This hotel exceeded all expectations—not just because of its excellent location and amenities, but because of the amazing staff who genuinely care about the guest experience. I highly recommend Swissôtel Al Murooj to anyone visiting Dubai. I’ll definitely be returning!

The one thing that stood out about this hotel if nothing else was the customer service I cannot rate this hotel any higher than I’ve rated them if I’m able to rate them 100 I would. From check-in to check out, the entire staff went above and beyond to help make our trip memorable. Rupa at the front desk was helpful in giving us tips on where to go and what to do. the 2 managers at the front desk, I don’t remember either names, but they were also beyond helpful. I know the hotel is going through some renovations and I look forward to return soon . Thank you all for making this a wonderful vacation.

Perhaps a better way to direct a line around it, especially for the omelette station would help with people cutting or shoving themselves in front of others would help.

I spent 4 nights there they were doing construction on the upper floor from morning 7am to until idk when because I would leave my room at 11am. I wouldn’t sleep all night or the morning because they have club and people raving there car so loud. Also the room service was bad. Complained 3-4 time all they had to offer was free ride to airport.

The Perfect Stay

My stay was amazing! My room was gorgeous and clean. I loved the fish tank in the hotel lobby too! The staff was amazing! Ahmed, the hotel manager, made sure everything was perfect! Michael made sure there was a shuttle waiting for us at the airport. The drivers were all professional and nice. The hotel was in walking distance to everything! The surrounding area was safe and the hotel staff made sure we had sure we had proper directions to sites and car arrangements for sites that were far away. Make sure you attend seafood night at the hotel. The food was incredible! Also, the Coco lounge on site was incredible too. Claire, the hostess was so nice. The food was great too. The aesthetics were perfect.

I have been staying at Al murooj every year and never had an issue. Unfortunately this time it was a horrendous experience.
I usually stay at the hotel but this time wanted to try the apartments since I wanted a bigger space. But when I went in it was the most old and disgusting thing I’ve ever seen. So told the Manager if there is a way she can move us to the hotel and that we are loyal customers. Unfortunately she wasn’t helpful at all. I think she should’ve worked something out with us bc this was always our go to hotel in Dubai and now we’ll never stay there ever again after this experience.

We stayed here in Room 427 March 13 to 16 2025. Very clean rooms, friendly staff. Easy check in and out.
The room did not have the best views, but again we were not in room for long, so was least of our worries for this time. Next time I would request a room with better views.
Staff was amazingly friendly. Housekeeping was on time and good. Convenient location, right across from Dubai Mall, we walked to the mall, fountains and Burj Khalifa. 15 mins or less taxi rides to every other major place in Dubai. Taxi and Uber easily available at entrance.

Would definitely stay here every time I am in Dubai. Next time hopefully with more time so I can experience the entire hotel amenities, gardens, pool etc. which I missed this time in my short trip

We stayed at the Swissotel and had a very enjoyable time. The room was clean and spacious with a large king bed. The best part of the hotel is the staff who go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay.

The only negative is the room had the shower in the bath and you need to be very careful using to ensure you don’t fall. Maybe challenging for someone with mobility issues.

Service and location were good, but hotel is very rundown and in desperate need of refurbishment. Leaky taps, doors and safe which don’t lock (admittedly they were repaired straight away), carpeting needs stripping and replacing, awful stuffy smell every time we came back into the room. Access to the larger pool area was all too hard, as it’s not part of Swissotel so we had to provide personal details and own towels, plus no wifi in that part. Disappointing but served it’s purpose by being close to Dubai Mall.

The electric plugs in the room are universal, work for UAE, European, American devices. BUT the business center is outdated. Thete are UAE plugs only, my connection plug was unstable and I had to fix it by a chair. The desktops are slow and do not allow to use zoom connection and, certainly, no option to fownload zoom application (the last is understandable). I am thankful for the opportunity to work in the business centet during late night, but that place must be renovated without delay.

The rooms are poorly finished. The comfort of the users was the last thing on their minds. The water from the shower leaks onto the bathroom floor. The shower mixer is stationary. You can slip when getting out of the bathtub. All the lamps in the room and their switches are very inconveniently located. It is unclear how to turn off the light in the hallway, which makes it very difficult to sleep. The air conditioner does not remember the set temperature and always turns on at 18 degrees. Sometimes it turns on by itself. The general condition of the hotel is dilapidated, many places require repair. The buffet is completely inconvenient. The dishes are located very far from each other. You need to stand in line to eat scrambled eggs. At breakfast, no one will offer you tea or coffee, like in other hotels. You have to go and make tasteless coffee in the machine yourself. There are no large cups next to the machines and there are not always saucers for the cups. Due to the use of small cups, the machines are always flooded with spilled coffee. Apparently, the hotel does not know anything about paper napkins. If you give your car to valet service, be prepared to wait for it for a very long time.

Very tired hotel. Total mess due to renovation. Asked four staff of ways to the pool/gym. Got 4 different answers.
As a gold memeber asked
For upgrade. Got a down grade. Iof a 45 sqm king size bed I got a 30 sq
queen size bed, w a bath tub big enough for a foot bath. Has no Swissotel feel to it nor Sofitel. More of a Mercure feeling. Even their graphics on the walls look cheap. Breakfast very bad selection. Over crowded. No atmosphere. A british pub was slightly less crowded. But swissotel, really! I thiught acvor can do better than this. Dusit thani and sofitel are much much better choices here. They sent tons of pre arrival upsell offers but not a word about messy construction.

At check in they could find our reservation - not sure whether this was their problem or Expedia whom we booked through. On entry to our room there was water leaking through the ceiling - to their credit, a maintenance man turned up reasonably quickly and fixed the problem, but then did not arrange for someone to replace a wet towel that we had put down on the floor to catch the water and stop us slipping over. Overall, less than impressed

Good hotel, location is great, just a short walk to Dubai mall. Worked perfectly for our hop on hop off tour. We booked the 3 bedroom room, it’s massive. Says it sleeps 8 but really only sleeps 6. Overall this is a good location and a good hotel. It’s a bit run down but for a central location with a big room it was great value.

Very Good but...

The hotel in good area very close to the Dubai mall and burj Khalifa.
But our room was on the road and its very noisy all the day and night even when the windows were closed.

Arrived at at hitel 3am. Had to book for two nights. Check in was fast, room.was big and clean. Only concern i have is, gave my phone number at check in. Only place i provided my cell number. Next day i get a scam text posing as Dubai Police issuing me a speeding ticket. For $500. Seems my phone number was sold to scamers.

Great location next to the Burj Khalifa precinct. The two pools were great for the kids and the staff are very helpful. Room is getting tired and needs an update.
