Great location with multiple shops, restaurants and transport options nearby. The room was clean, well maintained and a decent size by Paris standards. The one huge drawback is the lack of a lift, and a long, winding staircase and uneven stairs even to the first floor. For an older person like me, ascending or descending with a suitcase would have been, frankly, dangerous. On the plus side the staff were sympathetic and able to help so no harm was done but, on the assumption they can’t install a lift, the lack of one should b highlighted right up front with an explicit warning.

Amazing, amazing location and staff is very nice.

Hotel is a bit musty and old. Pillows and bed not so comfortable- but you only sleep there and you’re in the middle of beautiful Paris so … not so bad. It’s autumn, so heaters were on and room got super hot. If you open windows due to stuffiness, you will get mosquito bites.

I had hoped the room was nicer and it would be great if coffee or Nescafé was in the room ( instead of having to go downstairs) . Overall great trip but probably won’t stay here the next time.

Overall the room was ok. Carpet needs to be replaced bad. Smallest shower I’ve ever used. When asked if I could get an extra pillow and another towel they were hesitant. Was told they would see. After some checking on the computer they decided they had an extra towel. Room was musty and shower had mold. Location was the best part of hotel.

The hotel D'Win by far has the best location which was a highlight for us. It is so convenient to restaurants and shopping and that allowed us to have more time to explore the area. The location is fantastic, you can do much better and for the price at the time of the year (late Aug/early Sept) it was well worth it. The image of the room we booked didn’t match the actual room, which was well worn overall and the carpet is in desperate need of replacement. But the room was cleaned daily, the bed was very comfortable and clean, the service was excellent from all staff we interacted with. I would stay again for sure. Again, location can’t really be beat for the price.

If you stay here, it is for location only.
The staff who checked us in was okay. We had a much nicer person later when we had questions.
The hall had paper covering the carpeted stairs that looked like it had been there awhile. There is no lift and many oddly placed stairs to get to our room. The room was TINY and the shower TINY. The carpet smelled weird. Our window opened to a shaft facing other windows and people would smoke below. It all smelled like an old ashtray. Again, location. I’d stay here if all you want to do is sleep!!!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at D'Win. We didn't eat breakfast there, so I can't comment on that. The rooms were small, but perfect for our needs. The location was perfect. Notre Dame and the Louvre, for example, were within walking distance.
I would've given D'Win a 5, but they didn't reply to any of my messages leading up to my trip. Customer service was great at the hotel, but I was really disappointed that no one responded to my communication via Expedia and also the hotel's own pre-check-in form. Would I stay here again? 100%

A/C broken for a day or so. Great location, but hotel conditions leave a lot to be desired. They should have offered guests a free breakfast or something of the like.

Basic place, really well located. Most staff spoke english well enough to help us manage a few details during our stay and all were willing and helpful to make it happen. One desk agent helped me get the AC adjusted down from 25 to 21 degrees, another gave directions to a currency exchange, and another helped me print my cruise boarding pass and luggage tags (would have been a huge hassle for me if he was unable to make it happen, but he did it easily). I know these aren’t huge asks typically but its a small euro hotel with not a lot of staff so finding help when no one else was there to supervise was a relief for an American family stumbling thru using spotty cell service google translate on tmobile in paris for everything.

We would gladly stay there again, but be aware that the bathroom is ceiling is very low and hard for taller guests and if you get rooms on higher floors there are many steps to climb!

I am 160 cm tall and weight 55 kg but the bathroom was so small I had to sit sideways on the toilet. The shower stall was so tiny that I kept hitting my elbow on the water control turning it off or moving it to the wrong temperature. The shower curtain smelled like old urine and mold, and didn’t even reach to the floor. The carpeting was in the worst condition that I’ve ever seen in any hotel. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and thank goodness they had air conditioning. It was walkable to Notre Dame Cathedral. I would not stay here again though especially given the high price.

Great Value, Clean, Convenient, Helpful Staff

This is a hidden gem . . . comfortable, clean, safe accommodations a one minute walk from a Metro stop with staff available 24/7 (bilingual). Bed was comfortable and street view was appreciated. The kind Asian woman who checked me in gave me a free room upgrade without my even asking! Room was very quiet despite being on a traversed street. Luggage storage was offered for free after checkout, greatly appreciated as times do not always line up.

I would stay here again and recommend D'win to others with just one caveat--there is no lift/elevator, only stairs. That did not bother me at all but if one has mobility issues, that could be an issue.

This is a very very old building that is still being allowed to operate.
1. No Elevator: The hotel does not have an elevator so be prepared to lug your luggage. The staircase is straight out of the \"winchester mystery house. Super dangerous.
2. breakfast area is very very small. I did not have breakfast so cannot comment on this.
3. Rooms are terribly small. The shower stall barely fits you in. WIth a curtain at the back..so water drips out.
4. The outdoor sitting area that is prominently shown in the pictures is a fire escape area and is also a smoming area. During my visit i found construction workers smoking there.
5. Some of the staff are helpful some are mean. They told me that I can have free coffee but I cannot drink it in the breakfast area and that I should wait in the smoking area.
6. The hotel is located right opposite a bar called \"The Raidd\" bar which if you Google it is an erotic gay bar. Main issue folks are partying all night outside so you cannot sleep if you are a light sleeper.
7. Bed and mattresses are old.

The hotel is in a great central location, 3 minutes from the nearest metro which is perfect as a base for exploring the city.
We had a triple room which was basic but spacious and totally adecuate for a short trip. Beds were comfy. Our room faced the street so there was some street noise in the evening (saturday night) but overall quite peaceful given its in the middle of a buzzing area.

We had a great stay and a very comfortable room overlooking the street below. Being from America we were surprised at the smallness of the showers but they were very sufficient. We didnt realize that the A/C wasn't in our control which was a little inconvenient to have to go ask for an adjustment. Not the end of the world but a learning experience. The staff was always welcoming and very friendly as we came and went on our way. The location was PERFECT for exploring authentic Paris and foodie stops nearby. We wanted a boutique feel for our first trip to Paris rather than a \"big box\" hotel and we were very pleased with our experience.

Disappointed with our stay at this hotel.

Our room didn’t feel very clean, there were hairs in the bathroom as we arrived.
Moreover, the room was boiling hot though the radiator was off. I asked reception what could be done aside from opening the window (which gave onto a patio where people smoked, so the cigarette smell would enter our bedroom directly several times in an evening/night). The receptionist said they turned the AC on for us (AC/temperature control is controlled by reception, so if you want to change anything you have to make the trek downstairs). The receptionist said they’d set the AC on the lowest temperature but it didn’t do anything and we still had to sleep with the window open that night.

The only positive thing about this place is its location. Very central, lots of shops and food places around. Aside from that and the price, I wouldn’t recommend. I would pay more money for a cleaner and more accommodating place next time.

Located in the heart of Paris, this hotel is perfectly situated for a visit to the city of lights. The room was rather cramped and me as a larger guy was barely able to fit into the 2.5 x 2.5' shower without scraping my belly on entry and exit... bending over is also a challenge, so don't drop anything in the shower. There are no elevators that I could see so we had to carry our suitcases up to the first level. The stairs are also weird. The floors are a bit like walking in a fun house as they are tilted in weird ways. The rooms are carpeted. Having said all that, the bed was comfy, the AC worked, we overlooked the street below. The store in front of us had this bright LED display that flashed inside all night.

We really enjoyed our stay in the D’win. We had two rooms in the property and they put us next to each other. The rooms were quiet no noise from the street….it is in the middle of a bustling area. The location is fabulous and so close to the Metro Hotel de Ville and a short walk from Metro Chaléte, so close to transport for getting around Paris if you don’t want to walk everywhere. This is a two star Parisian hotel so do not be expecting large rooms or immaculate decor, it does have however lots of charm, helpful staff and is so close to everything. We will definitely stay here again when.we return for another trip.

Fantastic location walkable to everything. Cappuccinos machine was better than some nearby coffee shops. The building is really old but doesn’t smell bad and still feels clean. However, the bed was really uncomfortable and the bathroom couldn’t be any smaller. I’m a 150lbs female and I couldn’t move in the shower without banging my arms on the walls and accidentally turning of the water. The water also gets hot and cold frequently. You also have to side sideways on the toilet.

Loved our stay here. Soooo convenient and in the heart of an by incredibly charming neighborhood. Less than a block from the Hotel de Ville Metro station. Free espresso and tea drinks 24 hours a day. Large room with separate bedroom for 2nd bed, felt like a small apartment. Staff even gave me masking tape to fix my sandal that fell apart, which lasted the entire day! Would definitely stay again and recommend D’win to others! Only note of caution: there is no elevator that I know of, so I don’t recommend it if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues.

Charming hotel in a great location

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Location was perfect, interesting neighborhood to walk around, and very close walk to two Metro lines, providing easy access to all sights everyone wants to see in Paris.

Neighborhood felt safe and was close to eateries, bakeries, markets, restaurants and groceries. Be advised, it is in the middle of a very gay-friendly neighborhood. We discovered after we arrived that across the street is a well-known gay strip club, and there are various other gay establishments in the area. If you find that offensive, you may want to look elsewhere.

The hotel itself is a really interesting old structure... a bit of a maze of stairs and hallways. No elevator for those who need it... we loved it! Be warned, the most cost-effective room (aka cheapest) room is tiny... very very tiny, but clean and adequate for those on a budget. We were upgraded to a larger room when there was an issue with the bathroom light fixture. It was quite nice.

The staff was friendly and helpful, though not all speak English very well. We aren't morning folks, so we didn't try the breakfast. However, they offerred complimentary access 24 hours to their espresso & hot cocoa machine.

Would definitely stay in this hotel again. It was perfect.

The hotel was exactly what I wanted. A quaint hotel right in the middle of Paris. Easily walked to Notre Dame, the Louvre, and easy access to the Metro. I paid very little to add daily breakfast and enjoyed a little expresso every morning before heading out on my adventures.

IT MADE ME SAD TO SEE A \"HOTEL\" IN THE MIDDLE OF LONDON WITH SUCH EXCEPTIONALLY BAD CONDITIONS AND MORE WHEN IT WAS ADVERTISED AS A 3 STARS. NO ELEVATORS IN HIGH SUPPORT BUILDING! THE ROOMS DID NOT HAVE CLOSETS, ONLY COAT RACKS OR HANGERS, THE BATHROOM FOR HALF OF A PERSON, EVERYTHING WAS BADLY REPAINTED, THE FLOORS UNLEVEL AND INCLATED, DIFFICULT TO WALK AND AVOID FALLS OR ACCIDENTS. THE ROOMS WITHOUT PRIVACY AND THE SECURITY OF THE VERY ROOMS APART FROM THE HUMAN ELEMENT THAT COMES TO THE PLACE TO STAY THE NIGHT FOR ORGANIC NEEDS.
TREMENDOUSLY DEPLORABLE AND SHOULD NOT BE ON THE LIST OF ANY LIVING PLACE.
