As expected for a hotel close to the airport. Clean, staff were friendly and helped arrange a ride to Maya Port (Vincent was a great driver). Room right beside the pool so no privacy if we wanted to open windows. Food options at on site restaurant were fair if not a bit pricey for dinner (we waited a loong time but given they had another 2 large parties dining). Overall would stay again if in the area.

The staff here were absolutely excellent. They were very kind, helpful, and accommodating. I enjoyed my stay. There is a wonderful restaurant, Joey's Table, attached with an international menu. I was missing home ordered some European and American leaning dishes: Caesar salad, calamari, chocolate croissant, linguine carbonara, and their breakfast buffet. All were executed very well with high quality ingredients.

The hotel is quite new so it is modern and welcoming. Breakfast was good. The pool was nice. The staff were very helpful and there is a minibus that will take you to their resort hotel which is on the waterfront with a great pool. You can walk to a shopping mall and a restaurant area within 15 mins.

So much that we extended our stay even when we had reservations already paid for at another highly recommended hotel in Lapu-Lapu, the super-friendly staff, amenities and superior quality of the 1521 Hotel & Spa made it almost impossible to leave at end of our initial stay! So we didn't leave after our original booked stay, and huge kudos to Kara-Len Sato, Rooms Division Manager & her phenomenal staff at the 1521 Hotel & Spa for making us feel like royalty & like we were part of their family.

Maybe a new hotel, but you should be careful to know that the check-in time is 3pm. When I arrived at the front desk at 1:45pm, the receptionist said the check-in time is 3pm. He said that I had to wait till 3 pm. He recommend to wait in a restaurant in the hotel, but I did not want to spend my money there because I had lunch already. Thus I spent more than 30 minutes outside hotel where there are hot and nothing to see. I did not find any special reasons that they made me wait for more than 30 minutes even though I arrived in 1:45 pm. It was a strange experience for me.
The other issue is that the free shuttle to beach departs at 9:30am and 1:30 pm (only two times). So you cannot use it for the day when you check-in at 3pm.
Moreover, the swimming pool in the hotel is so small that you cannot enjoy swimming.
The massage shop in the top is very expensive compared to normal massage shops in Mactan island.
The other issue is that the free shuttle to beach departs at 9:30am and 1:30 pm (only two times). So you cannot use it for the day when you check-in at 3pm.
Moreover, the swimming pool in the hotel is so small that you cannot enjoy swimming.

We really enjoyed our stay here at 1521. I was hesitant to book at first because of the price (it's cheap :) but I'm glad I choose to stay here. I booked two family rooms for the first two nights (I choose the option of two queen beds in each room when I booked weeks prior to arrival but got the 3 twin beds instead. Not too happy about that, but it's ok. We just put the two beds together). Then I choose the signature twin the 3rd night since 5 of my party already left. The price is definitely good for the services and the facility. Minor complaints: stained towel and the shower is slow draining so the water gets a bit high during shower. But the convenience to go places (taxi, jeepney) are just outside the hotel. They have a pool at the hotel. But we checked out the beach and the 2nd pool, which is separate from the hotel (about 5-10 minutes ride.) They have two schedules for the shuttle (9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.) You can stay at the beach and pool area until 8 p.m. The pool is nice, but the beach is not that great. The kids had fun swimming at the pool but opt out to swim at the beach. The cabanas are great for relaxing. They also have restaurant and a bar at the pool and beach area. The hotel staff and the beach area staff are helpful and friendly. The restaurant food inside the hotel is awesome. We really enjoyed our dinner at Joey's table. We also love the roof deck with bar and the spa on the 7th floor. Our stay at this facility is excellent overall.

The property is brand new. It is very well built. The rooms are large and have all the essentials one would need. The internet is very fast. There is nice pool in the middle of the hotel which is good for laps and relaxation. There is also a shuttle to the beach as well. There is an onsite restaurant. She really made the arugula salads, soups and blt sandwichs even better than they were by themselves. The say at 1521 has been better than other hotels we’ve stayed at in Lapu-Lapu for a fair price! The staff greets you with a welcome drink and always great you any time you go downstairs. The restaurant is affordable and has excellent food options! We traveled with toddlers and it was seamless. 1521 is a great place to stay on Mactan. The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The private beach property is beautiful and easy to access with the shuttle service. I am a big fan of the massage studio on the top floor. The therapists do a great job and it is so convenient to be just a few minutes walk from any room in the hotel. I have stayed at 1521 a few times and will keep coming back!

The bathroom was nice but the shower was open and had no door or curtain. The water pressure was excellent and the hot water worked well in the shower. I didn't like that I was emailed the swimming pool was closed after I booked 2 rooms for 3 nights and the pool reopened the day after I left. They offer an airport shuttle but it's not free. There is not much area to sit outside; the lobby is very small. I did like that the front lobby had nice fresh air coming in from outside. The coffee machine's power cord was too short and we had to move it to the desk to plug it in. They needed an extra outlet; I had to unplug the TV to plug in my personal laptop because the other outlet had a different type of plug. The nightstand clock in my room was broken. The AC was very good and adjustable. The beds were cleaning and comfortable. The cleaning people should automatically replace the towels and tissue in the bathroom during the day without the customer having to request it.

I absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, quiet and air conditioned. There is a pool, spa & restaurant in the hotel. I booked this for a day I knew I did not want to leave my hotel, and I didn’t have to! The food was amazing, the staff were all very helpful and kind, and my massage was very impressive. The hotel is very well planned to isolate you from the busy street in front of the building. The rooms face a central space with the pool and outside noise is difficult to hear. The restaurant is great with good food and incredibly nice staff. The \"beach\" property owned by the hotel is a great place to spend the day. The pool, lawns, cabanas, cafe area and staff make it feel really luxurious. There really isn't a beach. There is a boat ramp into the ocean, if you want walk down it and go for a swim in very calm and shallow water. We enjoyed swimming in both the ocean and the pool! A shuttle bus runs back and forth throughout the day and is very accommodating of your schedule. The massage spa on the top floor is one of the best features of the hotel. The therapists do a great job and are very nice. Overall, it's a wonderful place and we'll definitely be back!
