I strongly advise against staying at the Sheraton Cebu. What was supposed to be a premium experience turned out to be one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had. Here are the reasons, based entirely on actual experience:

1. Completely Unacceptable Soundproofing (Premium Room)
I booked one of the highest-tier rooms, just below the Presidential suite, expecting a quiet and comfortable stay. Instead, the room had virtually no soundproofing.
I received repeated calls—until 3 AM—complaining about noise, even though the only thing playing was the default hotel introduction video on the TV.
For three days, I couldn’t even have a normal conversation inside my own room. This is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be luxury.

2. “Luxury Sedan” Pickup Was Misleading and Poorly Managed
I reserved a top-tier sedan for airport pickup. What arrived was a Mercedes B-Class—far from a luxury sedan.
At the airport, the assigned staff was sitting in a corner, making them extremely difficult to locate. After finally finding them, I had to wait another 10 minutes for the vehicle.

3. Second-Day Transportation Failure
On the second day, I scheduled a car for 6:30 PM. I ended up waiting outside for 40 minutes and only got the car at 7:10 PM.
It appears the hotel does not operate its own fleet but outsources vehicles. The car I received smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, which is completely unacceptable.

Les aménagements des services; le gymnase est fermé dans le demi sous-sol pas de vue sur la mer. Il y a des grads espaces vides c’est un peu dommage on dirait qu’il y a eu une idée qui ne s’est pas concrétisée. Notre chambre etait au bout de long corridor qui avait besoin d’être nettoyé et reparé. Buffet très basic pour le gros prix.

The resort has limited activites and evetything closes at 7pm. There were limited food options. Also some parts of resort wete closed to rrsidents only. Quite sexpensive at 330 a night. Good for honeymooners . Gym was open all night

Stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, which was a very large, very spacious room with nice views, even the large tub came with a view. Room humidity level was very comfortable. Food provided on menu's and in the buffet had a nice variety and the kitchen was quick to make accommodations for allergies. Staff were friendly and eager to please. We arrived with an issue from our flight, and the hotel nurse did a great job helping us out. Beach front has lots to do. A few pool areas which were open well into the dark hours which is unusual but made for nice quite time in the pool with no sun. If you want to stay in the hotel for the entire stay, this works well but there is nothing to do in walking distance, although many restaurants are a modest distance with a taxi ride. If this is a working holiday, there is only a small air-conditioned area in the café to sit and work on a laptop; otherwise, there are many outdoors areas to work, and open-air lobby areas to work which are pretty peaceful if you are ok with the heat/humidity

Pleasant overnight stay, but one issue with one of the guest rooms we stayed at that the electronic door lock was not working. It wasn't found out until the next day before checking out. This is unacceptable especially with the issue of security and safety for a supposedly \"5-star\" hotel.

We had a great time!

Very good resort. Decent private beach during high tides. Good for snorkeling. We did see some poisonous sea snakes as well. Guess they are generally harmless unless you poke them. The crowd was good, looks like it is a favorite place amongst Koreans  The breakfast was excellent. Don’t miss to try their local Taa Ho!
We had a great time at this place. Definitely we will come back again!

Room was comfy and clean and reset daily.
Breakfast was a highlight and managed very well.
Dip Nikkei was the only disappointment.
I had the Crab Causa, which was over powered by mayo and sauce. Ceviche and Nigiri was good but had hoped for more. Matcha cheesecake was a little dry and overdone.
I also had the Pork Bao at the pool the following day and again it was overly sauced. Felt like some work and refinement needed.
Buhi was my favourite spot to be in, staff were great and the small food selection was great! The pork skewers and chicken with pineapple vinegar were amazing.
I’d expand the food offering here!

A great place to stay but needs minor improvement

I have stayed in Sheraton Mactan a lot of times and have enjoyed every stay but for this trip there are some things I would like to say and comment.

Room - before they provided rubber slippers which was very convenient since their beach is very rocky, now they only provide the typical room slippers. They should revert back to providing the rubber ones since they are more applicable. Maybe provide both for the customer to choice. Overall experience is great and comfortable though.

Food service - Pool food is until 4:30pm but you can stay at the pool until 8pm. It would be nice if they still serviced that menu until the pool closes. It would also be nice if you can order the same pool menu for in-room services.

Breakfast - breakfast is always great but it would be nice if they have an option to provide packed breakfast for people who needs to leave the resort early for an activity or for check-out.

Entertainment - it would be great if they added an arcade similar to Shangrila Mactan’s Timezone.

Had a great stay here. From check in to check out everything was great. The staff was friendly and attentive and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Loved the amenities. The only setback would be that it’s far from the city or any other food/malls etc. (you would have to Grab and the closest would be like 10 mins away)

Also their pool and beach times close very early. (Pool closes at 8pm and beach 6pm) seems like a more family friendly place. Their breakfast buffet is really good with lots of variety.

Fantastic experience. The staff were courteous and respectful. The room service and cleaning services were perfect.

I recommend going snorkeling at their beach; you can see entire schools of fish while swimming. The included breakfast was great, and the dinners they have at the dining hall are decent as well, but they’re not included. Highly recommend this resort for a 3-4 day getaway.

Very nice resort with very friendly staff, own beach and huge pools. Being self contained hotel meal prices are a little on the high side with small portions sizes. Hotel has easy access to all the sites via taxi or grab. Try to book a ocean view room you won't be disappointed. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Mixed Feelings on My Birthday Stay

Like I do every year, I spent a few days at a Marriott hotel somewhere in the world — wherever my business trips take me — to celebrate my birthday with friends or family.

This year, I was excited for my first birthday stay at a Marriott property in the Philippines, and I even coordinated with the hotel staff beforehand. But sadly, unlike my past birthday stays, there was no special effort or gesture to make it memorable. It ended up being just a forgetable stay, with nothing that stood out.

It was completely opposite experience to my stay at a Marriott property in Thailand the very next day — they completely exceeded my expectations, with birthday cake, decorations, and drinks waiting in my room, just like my amazing experience in Beijing last year.

Honestly, I can’t help but compare it overseas and just but feel a bit disappointed that this how it goes in Sheraton in my own country.

That said, I really appreciated the restaurant staff member during dinner — he was wonderful with my niece and made her so happy. That small moment was a bright spot in an otherwise forgettable stay.

Best resort for relaxing holiday

Our stay was really relaxing, the staff were friendly and facility at the resort was excellent.
We stayed in a Tower A room with ocean view, the view to the ocean and sunrise were beautiful. Shower and bathroom is great, but the air-con noise was really disruptive. We would switch it to low so it’s bearable but in the middle of the night it would switch back to high/auto and it’s very loud. I found myself waking up at 3am to switch it back to low.
The bed style was soft, so that it’s comfy at first lay, but offer no support if you prefer firm bed.

We tried the Saturday seafood dinner buffet but we enjoyed the weekend breakfast buffet cooking and offerings more than dinner. Also there’s more variety on weekend breakfast than weekday.
Dip restaurant was excellent. Every single dishes we ordered treated and presented the ingredients really well.
Highly recommend cocktails by the pool cave from Buhi.

Grab transport can be difficult to get from the hotel but that ends up to be our preferred mode of transport as we paid almost 4 times more than actual fare to a taxi driver that the hotel ordered as he has ‘no change’.

We wanted to stay thank you to the staff especially the weekend staff. We didn’t recognise any of the staff on our departure day so that was a bit sad.

Overall we enjoyed Sheraton Mactan and would go back if we stay in the area again.

However, from the looks of it, it’s also a bit small and limited in size. With the sprawling grounds. I expected Sheraton to have allocated more space to nice pools.

Nice resort hotel. Not many other amenities in the area, so be prepared to take a taxi for off-resort meals and entertainment.

Rooms are spacious and modern.

Breakfast and other meals were excellent (range and quality).

Pool is a little small, but you have the option of swimming in the sea. Hotel rents out snorkeling gear and overshoes.

Staff is UNMATCHED and superb. Hotel sits right on the beach with 2 pools. There are plenty of beach chairs by the pool and on the beach. We only walked on the beach because it was just too hot to sit out there. Breakfast buffet had everything, Asian and western. There are plenty of activities to do on the resort. We saw people snorkeling, doing yoga, playing volleyball, etc. They have 24-hrs room service, which was great because we checked into our hotel about 10pm so was able to order food also. Our room was spacious with partial ocean view, which I paid for full ocean view. We were in Tower C, the next building blocked out the right side of the ocean view. The rug and end of bed chair had stains and the rug had a \"lift\" that me and my husband constantly tripped over. It was annoying. The hotel is far from the city. We had to get a Grab to go outside the resort and get food. The hotel is very nice but the surrounding areas are not, which is beyond the hotel's control. This is also the first hotel that I have ever been in that has TSA xray machine with walk through metal detectors. Good to know that the staff cares about our safety. The whole city has tons of security. Would I stay here again? Yes I would.

This hotel was not only a beautiful property, but the customer service they went above and beyond. So what really sealed the deal for me was I had a very early early excursion, and when I checked in, I told her that because she was saying that I didn't get the breakfast and I said well, I won't be here to eat breakfast. She could've left it at that, but she asked me if I wanted breakfast to go deliver it to my hotel room so I could take it with me on my tour i said, wow, thank you so much. So at 3:15 in the morning, they delivered fresh, cooked breakfast of hash Browns. Eggs and bacon, which were very tasty pipin' hot. 2 things of yogurt, a few bottles of water and oranges, all for me to take with me so that I could have breakfast now. That's customer service, cuz. She could've just kept quiet and didn't even mention. That I could get a breakfast pack to go. So thank you. I will definitely be back.

So it was nice the beach was cool but there was mold on the curtains and literally mushrooms growing from the ceiling. They took a huge deposit yet acted like the Gestapo over a Pepsi chasing me down the hallway to sign like you know my room number.
The buffet was expensive and not good The drinks were five times a normal sale price.

Just don’t expect a American quality hotel

Lovely hotel with large beach area and 3 different pools facing the beach. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Bar areas beside the pool are nice but not the coolest as there aren't many fans and no air conditioning.
The room was very large with a nice balcony facing the sea. The bed was very large and comfortable and the bathroom was very spcaciius with good room for clothes in the wardrobes and drawers.
We ate at night in one of the bars at night which served fries, pizza, burgers etc. The food and service was good here also but a bit warm.
The breakfast buffet was very large and varied with a food variety of food for different nationalities.
There isnt much around the hotel to see, so it is somewhere to stay on site and enjoy the facilities.

It was our first time to stay at Sheraton and it was wonderful. I booked it here because of the size of the room. It's very spacious and of course it's very clean. I love the bath tub and rain shower. I love the buffet dinner (featuring a whole lechon) and breakfast especially on the weekends there's taho! I noticed most of the guests are Koreans so it's quiet! We love the pools especially the kiddie pool down the beach! My son loved playing there. Love the kids club too! Staff are very nice and friendly. Overall, it was an amazing experience! Beautiful and luxurious resort.

The hotel is in an area going through some gentrification, there is extreme poverty outside of the hotel. It’s a bit further away from Cebu city and NewTown which is the new area. Grab rides will take longer. The hotel itself is very nice and the rooms are large and kept very clean. The onsite dining is also great and loaded with various options from local to international cuisine. Quite a number of Japanese and Korean tourists. My only small gripe is upon check out the front desk kept running various transactions to get the final settlement bill completed. She kept entering the wrong amount, and then refunding it. She did it 3 times, which triggered a fraud alert. I told her that is not acceptable, and could cause issues since I would have to swap my USA SIM card out to clear the alert. Front Desk should be trained to carefully run these transactions upon guest check out. This also then forced me to pay my Grab ride in cash or pesos or PHP. They should measure 3 times and “cut once”. Highly recommended for people traveling with families.

Typical PH hotel resort. Decent but only partially maintained….need more trash cans, more cleaners, more staff interaction, more property maps, etc.
Neighbors are dirty and surrounding area is dirty, under construction, etc. Suite is nice, Pool is nice, dining options are good….but dont expect much from the beach. The property has not once dredged the beach, so tons of sharp rocks, etc. Not worth the price. Won’t be back and I am bonvoyage member.

Genuinely one of the most incredible hotel experiences that I have ever experienced. From the moment we checked in to the moment we left it was incredible. Hannah at reception and Ariel who helped with our bags were so friendly and always said hello and remembered our room number thoughout our stay.
Even before the stay they were very responsive on email to answer any questions.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful in it's architecture and the room is incredible.
Breakfast is also massive and has basically everything you could want.
I was a little unwell for part of the stay and they even sent a nurse to the room!
The beach is lovely and the added touches of ice cream and free melon was really nice touches.
There are lots of activities for adults and kids.
We had to catch an early flight and they even packaged breakfast for us to take to the airport.
Will 100% be staying again.
All the staff were so welcoming, making sure to say hello at all times.
The beach is also really peaceful.

Stay here! Don't bother anywhere else!

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at, the staff are phenomenal and possibly the best hospitality we have experienced in all of Asia! So welcoming and friendly and helpful...blown away!
The hotel is stunning aesthetically and the rooms were fantastic, big space and so modern.

The hotels pools were great although a little small and the beach was stoney and not sandy but you can get aqua shoes for free from the recreation desk which was a nice touch.

Whether you love the sea or not you have to go snorkelling here, the amount of fish and the clarity of the water is incredible.

We have stayed at other hotels in Cebu but this is the BEST by a long way!

Service was 5-star and we felt very well taken care of. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was great - worth the additional cost for our stay, also because the nearest other options require a van or cab ride. Amenities and rooms are clean and modern.
Only downsides would be that the beach is small and pebbly vs white sands. The pool is nice though, and they offer aqua aerobics which was fun! Also the location is a bit inconvenient if you have any trips to Cebu City planned - allot about 1 hour travel time. Otherwise it is great being only 20 min from the airport and in a relatively private area.
