I would consider myself an easy guest and traveler but sadly this was the worst hotel we stayed in during our month in Vietnam.

The hotel itself is modern and clean but that’s pretty much where the positives end. When we arrived we were allocated our ‘city view’ room on 2nd floor however there is now an 8 story building under construction so rather than seeing the city, you have a noisy building site less than 10 meters from your window. We had to spend almost an hour complaining before we were moved however they then wanted us to move rooms again the next morning. The building work started at 07:30 and went on through until about 19:30 and it is clear there are at least another 6 month of structural work ahead before noise may not be a problem. If you want a relaxing start to the day / post day shower and time in the room, this is definitely not the hotel for you.

The breakfast was basic for the standard of hotel though the staff were friendly. There is definitely a wide lense camera taking photos of the pool for the website as there is no room for sunbathing or sitting around, it’s a dunk and then out.

To finish off the two nights stay, we were woken by the fire alarm at 06:45 on the second morning, which subsequently went off a further 5 times over the next hour!

I’m afraid this is not one I would recommend.

In a great location being in the centre of the tourist attractions, surrounded by good quality bars and restaurants. The staff are excellent and our room was very comfortable with a good view. The only dissapointment was that there actually is no restaurant, and the hotel details say there is and the hotel guide in the room says there is.

hotel had friendly helpful staff, unfortunately the pool was under repair which was one of the mains reasons for booking, management did upgrade our room to compensate unfortunately it was a big pubic holiday and celebratory parade on our last day which meant the roads were blocked and we could not get transport any where near the hotel for our flight out which meant we needed to book a hotel close to the airport so we paid for a night we couldn't use, this was also when the pool was back in use so we didn't get to use the pool even when it was re-opened. breakfast wasn't our best and was the same everyday

This place is a rip off. I paid for a room with a city view. What they offered was a room facing a wall. No view. It was a no refund reservation. What I didn't know was that Expedia will not force it's vendor to refund the money, even when the hotel misrepresentats what it offered. So if you book any hotel via expedia you have no rights, even if they put you in the basement.

I was not very impressed with this hotel and I don't believe it meets 5-star standards. We booked this hotel primarily for its central location and 5-star rating, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations.

he room floorboards were loose with large gaps full of dirt. The provided slippers are likely necessary because walking barefoot on the floors will get your feet dirty. There was hair behind the door, and the towels and bedding had stains. The shower barely drained, nearly flooding the room. It sounded like the room had open windows due to the amount of street noise, even though all windows were closed. The stairs were scary, dirty, and poorly lit. The included breakfast was very limited, and I only went once during my stay. The rooftop pool was so small that I didn't bother using it.

I would have canceled and gone elsewhere, but there weren't many other options due to staying during Tet.

The only positive things I can say about this hotel are its friendly staff, central location, and the large size of the room. If this was a 3-star hotel I could rate it a bit better. But the main issue for me was the cleanliness.

I’m rating this hotel 1 star simply because they list it as a 4 star when it’s a 2 AT BEST. Very misleading.

The room is not cleaned thoroughly, as a 4 star hotel should be. The bed is so soft, not good for your back. The shower/sink/toilet are in very odd places. The room windows are the size of prison windows. There’s noise from the toilet in the middle of the night (perhaps when neighbours use it).

The rooftop pool is the size of a CLOSET. I don’t even understand how a size like this is acceptable. There are no sun loungers, just chairs and you’re at the edge of the pool.

The lady receptionist is very rude. The two gentlemen (doorman and receptionist) were very kind and helpful.

The breakfast place felt like a rundown old place. The food was mediocre. Cold pizza for breakfast, soggy eggs,… nightmare.

Lastly, this is probably what was the most annoying: the elevator. There is ONE elevator and it’s incredibly slow. It took 8 minutes to get one!

Please checkout other hotels, you will find MUCH better even in a 3 star hotel.

A phenomenal hotel with equally phenomenal staff!
My fiancé and I were there for 3 nights and would have happily stayed longer. The location was excellent with good dining, shopping, and currency exchange only a few minute walk in any direction. Finding a \"Grab\" car was never an issue and they picked up extremely quickly.
Highly recommend the location and would stay again!

In the middle of the night (1am to 4am) there were a mob of people outside the hotel yelling and screaming, clearly drunk and disorderly, and disturbing the piece. We called the front desk around 2am and asked them to do something, they just said there nothing they could do. We asked them to call the police to disperse the crowd, but the front desk said they could not or would not do that. We felt unsafe and unprotected. In addition, the streets in this neighborhood are filthy and fell unsafe, especially at night. Please don’t stay at this hotel, and I urge Orbitz / Expedia to remove it from their website and app.

Place looks nice in pictures and pool looks good but there is barely any room to enjoy it. They list they have gym and restaurant but have neither. The employees talk where talking bad about me in Vietnamese not knowing my friend knows the language and is Vietnamese. It’s over priced and not worth it! BEWARE!

We were charged for a tiny stain on a pillowcase. It seems you need to pay for hotel laundry.
There was no bar, breakfast was limited. Some staff were great but others only spoke local language. Overall I would not call it a 3 star hotel.

Great location and the view from our room was great, 6th floor king with view of the river. Gourmet market right around the corner for incidentals. Money exchange one block over. Easy walking distance to sites. Would definitely stay again. Some have noted the noise, but it’s located in the city, so of course you will hear horns and such. It was quiet by the time we were ready for bed.

My wife and I had a good experience to stay at this hotel. We forgot something valuable and after checked out, the next day we called and asked for help to find it even though it was hopeless. The staffs were phenomenal, they tried their best and finally found it and gave it back to us. Highly recommended this hotel to everyone! Very reasonable price, clean room and convenience location to everywhere. Especially very nice and truthful staffs make you feel like home “safe and sound”. Thank you so much !

This is a hotel 2-3 star hotel at best but the stuff is extremely helpful and does everything to make your stay pleasant. I think my main disappointment was the room and a teeny tiny window. I really like the small and cozy pool area at the roof and the superb breakfast. You are also in the center of District 1 and can walk to all the attractions.

This property will no doubt be excellent when it’s complete however it’s still being constructed and has all the issues that go with that, some of the amenities advertised are not ready yet. The A/C in our room did not work which when we flagged this to a staff member they appeared to be well aware but were completely unbothered even though we’d been too hot to even sleep in the room. We left after one night and fortunately we’re able to get a small refund back.

Sky Gem is a great boutique to stay in while in Saigon. It is clean, and has all the amenities you need/want. It is Central, in District 1, so you can walk to all locations OR choose to take a Grab or Taxi. The staff were pleasant and kind. Wang, one of the Managers is exceptionally informative. he spent every morning talking to us about suggestive sites to see not only within Saigon, but Vietnam in general and his English is fantastic.
The breakfast spread was decent. Had most of what anyone would want from Noodle Bowls to Eggs.
The only issue that we had was that the TV reception was quite poor - very pixelated and not all the channels worked, but really - is that important on a vacation?

The first room smelled strongly of varnish from having been rehabbed recently. The second room had such poor air conditioning that we sweated all night long. we left after just that 1 night. No refund was given.

Give this great new hotel a visit!

We took a chance on this hotel as it has very few reviews... and it paid off!
At time of writing it has only been open for 1 month (hence the lack of reviews) but it already feels like one of the top hotels in HMC at this star level. Wonderfully friendly and attentive staff, cool contemporary decor and the breakfast bar and point pool are on the roof giving you a break from the noise of the city and and view of the river. We only wished this rooftop has been open at night!

Amazing hotel! Staff were so helpful and considerate. I needed to go to the bank quickly to get some cash before a trip, the doorman took me on his scooter! The room was really nice! Good size and bed was so comfortable. The view and pool on the toof was great and we had the perfect view for New Year’s Eve fireworks. Definitely would stay again!
