If you want to experience traditional Bavarian hospitality and enjoy a cosy room with a visit to the fantastic beer garden across the road then this is the place to visit. A gem waiting to be discovered

Undoubtedly one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at. I have been in the travel business for over 35 years, and have stayed at many hotels around the world. The service and friendliness at the Brauereigasthof-Hotel Aying was some of the best that I've ever encountered. The setting is unique, rustic, and displaying the best of Bavarian gemütlichkeit. A previous reviewer stated that this hotel was more of a destination than a hotel, and I concur wholeheartedly. I will gladly come back for a stay when I am back in the Munich area. Don't be put off by the distance that the hotel is from Munich. The hotel offers free transfer service to and from the S-Bahn (train) that takes you directly into the heart of Munich in less than 30 minutes, and also has tickets for the train for sale at the front desk. This hotel is a gem waiting to be discovered!

it is brilliant as always, one of the attractions of the hotel was its EV charging infrastructure the hotel however recently introduced a flat fee EV charging policy of 30 Euros per charging event. As I drive a hybrid and my battery takes 11KW this would have meant app. 3 Euro per KW charged which is outrageous, hence no charging. Happy to pay an honest price but not this.... we will never get to the 2030 or 50 objectives with this kind of an approach

This place is definitely worth the detour or even a separate trip. Peaceful countryside location, welcoming and attentive service. Good affordable pub food and craft beer or fine dining, your choice. Great breakfast, everything fresh, delicious and beautifully presented, on a par with upscale hotels at least three times more expensive. Classically modern decoration in the common areas and rooms, feeling of freshness suggesting that the whole place has been recently updated. Nice sauna and ok gym for a hotel of its size. Will come back for sure.

The hotel was charming and service was well done. We did open the windows at night for additional air since there were not thermostats in the rooms that could be adjusted and there was a fair amount of early morning noise from the street that surprisingly woke us. Other than that, we had a lovely time.

We had an early flight to catch on our last morning, before breakfast service started at 7:00. The staff was very accommodating and served coffee for us around 6:00 am and even made a nice lunch for us to go, sandwiches on homemade bread, apples, real cheeses, yogurt, etc., all free of charge. This place is first class all the way.

To stay here is to have a truly unique experience of a small German town. The hotel is older but the service is top class with wonderful staff being pleasant, friendly and helpful. The bed was the softest during our whole stay in Germany and they take pride in their different choices of pillow available. We sunk into our feather/down pillow and had the best sleep. A great place to stay in a truly unique little town. A short walk around felt like a walk back in history. We loved it.

Awesome place, tremendous beer, quiet countryside

Located a short S Bahn train ride from Munich (via the S7), this is a wonderful hotel in a small village where the spectacular Ayinger beer is brewed. The staff is fantastic - very professional, kind and attentive. The accommodations are clean + comfortable and the wi-fi, breakfast and all things one needs meet and/or exceed the standard. I will say that the bed is more on the \"cushy\" side than firm - but it is a matter of personal preference, of course.

Things worth knowing...the walk from the little train station in Aying to the hotel is about 10 minutes - just walk towards the onion-shaped church tower after you disembark. Also, the town is very small. There is no commercial center with shops, cafes and the like. There are 2 or 3 restaurants, the hotel and that is it. The Braustuberl restaurant, to which the hotel is attached, features of all Ayinger's fabulous beers and the service and Bavarian menu is very good.

In short, if you want a relaxing time in the country - that is quiet, with nice walking opportunities, epic beer and exemplary Bavarian hospitality - this is a great destination.

Terrible parking:
we arrived by car at 7 pm and the whole area around the Hotel was full of cars. When I confronted the reception I got the comment that the beergarden in the neighborhood is so popular. On 3 out of 4 evenings we came across the same situation. As we did tours into the alps by day it was very annoyging to have parking place trouble.

Hot room:
When we arrived the room was as hot as the air outside. The room has no ventilation or air-conditioning. We had to keep the window open all night to have aome relief

Noisy environment:
As we had to keep the window open we were exposed to the church bells ringing every 15 minutes through the night.

No fridge or mini-bar:
The room did not have any cold reservoir for drinks. On the table a warm bottle of water and two bottles of equally warm beer were provided. That was very diaappointing for a 4 star Hotel.

All night party under room:
The Hotel let a party being organized with loud music under our room. Until 3 am there was no sleep. The reception was not occupied and nobody from the hotel was reachable to help us. Very disappointing.

No refund for internet portal customers:
Having booked via ebookers was used as excuse to not do any refund towards us for the terrible night we had and the spoiled vacation day.

Medocre breakfeast buffet:
If you like to choose from a nice well stocked breakfeast buffet you will be disappointed again. Only part of what is available is at the buffet

Excellent little hotel in rural location

Very nice little hotel with great views of the Bavarian Alps. The major problem is that there is not much to do in Aying, so you will have to take a trip to Munich or elsewhere. We had thought the town was larger with shops and things to do, but we were mistaken. Also the shuttle to the airport is extremely pricey, and we were not told there was a cost associated with it until it was time to pick us up and we had no other choice. The breakfast is excellent, but the restaurant across the street (also ran by the hotel) was OK with rather rude staff. Outside of this you do not have many other choices of dining or things to do. The brewery tours were only in German while we were there. The room was excellent, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel if you do not mind taking the train or have a ride elsewhere during the day.

Great Beer and hotel, needs better service

The Hotel was good, but the service was disappointing. We asked the front desk to reserve bikes for us, but they never contacted us. The man at the front desk said he would call our room, he didn't. The next day, he told us to go to a town two S Bahn stops away to rent a bike only to find out they did not have any more. In addition, the same man told us that they had brewery tours on Tuesday so we showed up only to find out the tours were only in German. We chose Ayinger and a visit to Aying because a pub near our home town uses their beer for their Octoberfest and thought it would be nice to visit the brewery. The hotel information book needs to be updated. A number of things were no longer available, for example bike rentals.

Charming hotel with very friendly staff. We were unable to get into the main restaurant for dinner due to holiday season (12/22). We ate at the local German restaurant across the street as it was fabulous. The morning breakfast at the hotel was rather poor. Out of food and unable to prepare additional items and that was an hour before the breakfast was to end. Overall the stay was very nice however. Had a real wood burning fireplace in the room, pillow menu, nice bathrooms. Self serve bar in the library was a nice treat.

We attended an event at the hotel, and stayed for 2 nights. All the staff we met were delightful, and tried to be helpful. The rooms were comfortable enough, but the TV had a poor selection of channels (apart from sport) and very limited radio. We had 2 evening meals organised for our group. One was traditional Bavarian fare and acceptable, the other was more formal and a bit of a shambles. Staff were very poorly organised, meals took hours to materialise, wine didn't appear and the food was very disappointing. We blame this squarely on the management pf the Hotel

Nice hotel, but buyer beware

The absolute first thing to know about this hotel is that it's a pleasant hotel if you are staying in Aying. It's a bit of a journey if you are vacationing in Munich. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the Aying train station and trains to Munich run on :11 and :31 throughout the day.

The hotel itself is well-kept, with friendly staff, and a great breakfast buffet. The rooms were NOT AT ALL like what are pictured on Expedia, which was hugely disappointing -- not nearly as lavish or spacious as the photos suggest. With that said, however, the layout of the room was quite efficient that it did feel larger than it really was.

As has been mentioned several times, the hotel's pub is located across the road and is fantastic. Unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to eat there, only drink, but it was worth the visit.

Overall this experience was good, but would have been so much better if the room was the same as in the photos.

It is an historic hotel and is most beautiful. I would have given it 5 stars for service but the internet is free for only 1 hour. Then you have to pay $10 Euro for the next 24 hours if you want it the rest of the night and the next day. I think for a 4 star rated hotel that free internet should be one of those amenities at no charge since it is now essential for nearly all travelers. The breakfast was fantastic and they even kept the food out for us even though we arrived almost 1/2 hour late. It ends at 10am. Very pleasant front desk personnel too.

Big disappointment...

I stayed at Aying Brauereigasthof many many times during the 90' and was an true fan of the place. In my opinion the standard has gone down quite a lot. We had two double rooms. Both rooms were not cleaned properly - and we are talking layers of dust that takes months to build up... Seeing the first dust pile I addressed this at the reception and they did take care of it. Discovering the next I got really disappointed and wanted to to speak to the hotel manager. She wasn't in and during our two day stay we never heard from her. We did get 6 beers as an excuse when we checked out - and thanks for those - but I would had appreciated a direct dialogue with the hotel manager. I'm sorry, but we won't be coming back.

So Glad We Stayed!

Aying is a great town and the hotel was wonderful. We opted to stay here instead of Munich and are so glad we did. The drive to Munich was just 20-30 minutes and the train connections were twice an hour. Aying was the perfect end to our 10 day trip to Germany! The hotel, church, hotel restaurant, beer garden, and play ground down the street all made our stay memorable and restful. Great food and great staff.

Beautiful Town, Wonderful Hotel

The hotel staff was cheerful and very helpful. I was determined to speak German while there, and they were very patient with me and didn't take the easy route of switching into English. Breakfast was always well stocked - a very simple European fare, but it was always a nice start to the morning.

The outside terrace restaurant was beautiful, the food good, and portions large. While the food was good, it wasn't great.

I found parking very easy. The Biergarten across the street was a daily routine for me, and they were also very friendly. Overall, a VERY good experience. I would stay here anytime I visit Munich (the S Bahn was very easy to get to, and I left my car parked in Aying when visiting the city).

I stayed in the cheaper 2nd floor rooms, and was quite content. I imagine splurging for a 1st floor room, or a room in the Herrenhaus would be even nicer.

I guess these are common in Germany, but it was a new experience for us. Nice country effect, and really well done. probably the nicest hotel in our travels in Germany. Highly rated restaurant was kinda disappointing with menu, and expected more breakfast for the price the place. Eat at the biergarden next door for a more authentic food experience

Wunder schöner Landgasthof in Aying mit traditioneller, bayrischer Ausstattung. Sehr feines Frühstück in schöner Gaststube - längere Wartezeiten auf die Speisen.
Standardzimmer sind renovationsbedürftig ( Flecken auf Teppichen, Mängel im Bad). Aufmerksamkeit und Kundenorientierung seitens des Personals sind unterschiedlich.
Idealer Ausgangsort für Ausflüge in das bayrische Voralpenland. Auto von Vorteil.

Unterkunft und Service war perfekt.
Das einzig negative war, dass die Buchung über Expedia nicht vorhanden war. Da noch Zimmer frei waren, war eine Buchung vor Ort problemlos machbar.

Guter Menüvorschlag. Reichlich Bierauswahl. Leider hat der Service im Laufe des Abends stark nachgelassen. So mussten wir fast eine Stunde auf den Hauptgang warten. Decken würden im Biergarten zwar angeboten - aber leider nicht gebracht.
