Many reviews said the Almerante could be a 4 star and having now stayed there I agree. It is modern, well maintained and very clean. Staff were all polite and helpful. Breakfast items were all good quality though the choice is not as wide as I have experienced elsewhere. Still it was more than adequate. The pool was nice as well, no problem with sunbeds. It is a quiet hotel, which for us was fine.

Excellent place to stay. Breakfast buffet was amazing and the staff are “top shelf”. The only issue is the water in the rooms. When you have a shower, the water turns from warm to scalding hot to the point it can cause injury. Would not recommend children or elderly as this could cause a serious burn if children are left unattended attended in the shower

I didn’t put 5 stars because it seems that it could be better insulated, the next door guest was extremely unpleasant and complaint about my TV noise and conversations in our room. Maybe, the rooms could be better insulated to avoid the issues and bad moments we had, because the guy hit the wall very loudly and demanded that we shut up… so that was not pleasant, and made the rest of our stay slightly uncomfortable because we were worried that he would do it again.

Beautiful pool, close to the beach and a super market. Poor wifi, if you plan to work prepare to use data. Also if you are given room 108 it definitely has the worst balcony. Partial sea view is when you scoot over as close to the railing as possible but then you are in the view of everyone above and also the restaurant.

I was not that impressed with our 2 night stay. Firstly, we emailed the reception 2 days before we arrived to ask if there was any chance of checking in earlier as a 4pm check-in is quite late, especially when off-season but to date we've had no response (we're now home)
The shower had a rather bad smell coming from the drain.
I don't go on holiday to watch tv but I do like it on before bed or when getting ready to go out, not one english speaking channel, which would be fine if you could stream Netflix or Prime but that wasn't available either.
Went for lunch and apparently they think it's acceptable to offer a prawn, yes, one prawn for €11. Whilst I know this must be some kind of super prawn, this kind of hotel should not be adding this to a menu that has otherwise standard offerings i.e club sandwich, burger etc.
There's only one lift so if the hotel is busy you'll be quicker walking (great when on the 5th floor)
Overall, this hotel screams style over substance to me and I would not stay here again.

It was very close to the beach and a short walk to the tram stop , but also in between two roads so very noisy and the rooms are not sound proofed with the patio door not closing properly either! The did have very good black out curtains, the air con didn’t seem to work but we didn’t need it due to the window not closing . They are in the process of refurbishment on the lower floors , so do not expect peace and quiet during the day .

Room conditions were terrible. Bathroom door wouldn't close and they had to remove door to take off 2cm. When Aircon was turned on it flooded the bedroom floor. Took 2 days to repair.

We liked everything about the hotel, the staff were very attentive and helpful, everywhere was clean and tidy, we ate in the restaurant and bar food and both were very nice. The view from our room was stunning and the tram was only a 10 minute ride into the old town. We would highly recommend it.

The chilled out vibe, it was like being on a spa weekend without actually being at a spa. Reasonable bar prices, loved the fact you could order drinks from your sun lounger. Had a great long weekend.

This hotel was further away from Alicante main town than we realised however it is very easy to get the tram in to the centre. The hotel is located next to a beautiful beach, staff are friendly and welcoming and the restaurant is good and reasonably priced. The pool area is immaculate and there was always sun beds available

The place is kind of a gem. We had a spacious double room with a balcony. We enjoyed the pool, The beach is superb, and not crowded. We really appreciated not having too many bars, nightclubs, or souvenir shops close by. There is easy access to Alicante city centre by tram. We enjoyed our stay there.

This property is ideally located near the Beautiful San Juan Beach where we found perfect body surfing waves and miles of sandy beachfront. It is also located near a tram station so you can go to the main town as well as neighboring Benidorm. The hotel has a great breakfast buffet, with an outdoor patio and swimming pool c/w cabanas. You can sign out a beach towel with a 10 euro deposit. Our room was perfect with a view of the pool and the beach and protection from the wind. English is a bit more challenging for some of the staff and the hotel is reluctant to provide ice for your room. There is a supermarket nearby which was very helpful. The staff were friendly and helpful but I would strongly suggest they provide some kind of map of the area to their guests to help in finding restaurants and amenities. The food was delicious and I would stay there again.

Despite the awful weather Easter 2019, we had a great 9 night stay at the Almirante. We had a \"premium room\" facing the pool, including a fridge and kettle. I'm not sure if these are just in the premium rooms, others have mentioned them missing. Room appeared to be recently refurbished, great bathroom, nice furnishings even an electric blackout blind. Decent balcony, with 2 chairs and a table. Pool looked good although we didn't use it. Location is OK for Alicante, with half hourly tram service to the city. Also goes the other way to Benidorm if you want to mix with the chavs haha. Some restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, but not a busy area at least at Easter. Staff were generally friendly. Breakfast was pretty good (ours included in rate) but didn't vary, so after 9 days it got a bit boring. Good parking (we hired a car from the Airport - SixT were excellent, right below the terminal) Believe me with the weather, we needed the car. Valencia is lovely especially the amazing modern architecture (Calatrava). Wi fi was OK, good enough to stream Netflix (laptop HDMI'd to the TV) although you had to put details in every day. Overall a great base if you are happy to be out of the town.

We really had good time. Great location for the beach, tram and shops. Friendly staff and the hotel was clean. We could not use the balcony in room 502 as it was locked for safety reason. Room itself was very nice. Overall very nice stay. Thank you

Me and my friends stayed there last year for a night as our flight had been cancelled which is the reason we booked again for this year as we enjoyed it so much. We were in a family room with balcony which is why we booked again this year a family room but to our disappointment we were told when we arrived that the balcony in our room is locked for safety. I explained that the year before we had a family room and we could access the balcony but they said the room we stayed in last year was the only family room with access to the balcony!!! We booked through Expedia so did not notice that on the hotels website it did state that family rooms do not have access to the balconies so it took half a day of telephoning yourselves to try and get moved into other rooms or hotel with a balcony but everywhere was fully booked. Wh had no choice but to stay. The hotel is lovely and the staff are very friendly it just spoilt the holiday not having access to a balcony so we could not sit out in the evening having drinks we had to spend more money on being out all the time.

Hotel was beautiful, right on the beach.. alot of construction work going on behind it it.. you had to bring your own rubbish dow or you wouod be fined. No food or drink allowed in hotel except if it was hotels,. Fhe area itself is too quiet, just exp restaurants around,. No entertainment,. End up getting 2 trams to Benidorm for the day.. Play San Juan is a beautiful unspoiled beach.. Recepetion lady was lovely and mannerly.

The Hotel was clean and welcoming. Very close to beach, restaurants and a local supermarket. Local transport is very convenient , making traveling to and from hotel very easy.
Breakfast was very good. Menu for dinner has a good selection.

Close to the beach hotel with free parking,room was not properly cleaned,free wifi has low internet speed, tv station are only in spanish,you can hear noises from the other rooms.

Lovely hotel at the beach.we had breakfast which wasn’t really great. the beach was amazing spotlessly clean. There wasn’t very much to do. Restaurants were all closed there was only one shop at the back of the hotel. The tram went along the front which took you to Alicante town and it was amazing. A nice relaxing break.

The hotel is in a really good location close to one of the finest beaches I have seen. The hotel is really clean and modern with a lovely pool and grounds. The excecutive rooms are worth paying the extra for especially the views. Friendly staff with really nice food especially breakfast .We will certainly be coming again to this hotel

Hotel was good. We went in May which was out of season so not a lot was open. Breakfast was good and often had lunch or dinner which was good too. Staff were friendly. Room was ok except we had a hard bed we asked for a mattress topper but do not think the hotel understood us. Shame but guess a bed depends on each individual. Tram is only few mins away and cheap to get to Alicante. Taxi from airport was €35 to €40.

Lovely hotel, close to beatiful San Juan beach
The hotel itself is great, the pool is fabulous although we didn't use it. Hotel is in a great location next to the beach and it's easy to get into Alicante centre with the tram.(Carribiners or Costa Blanca). Although the area is quiet at this time of year, a 10 min walk by the beach will take you towards some good restaurants. The only downside to this hotel is the construction work going on around the hotel which should of been mentioned when booking, as if you are looking for a relaxing trip, this would be annoying.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel cherished and appreciated. Although we arrived over two hours before book in time we were immediately allowed to book in. Really liked this hotel, location across the road from the beach, decor, facilities, good pool, cafe, restaurant and really excellent food. We were full board and the menu of the day provided choice and taste. Formal restaurant, but casual atmosphere and attentive, friendly staff. We preferred Tapas for lunch, again very tasty, our favourite were the platters. Standard room with balcony overlooking the pool area, but we could also see the sea. Clean bathroom, with bath, comfy large bed and lots of space for storage and to move around in. Tram just 5 minute walk from the hotel. We used it a lot, even went to Benidorm, very convenient, reasonable and clean.
On our last morning, we received our 3.45 am call and taxi at 4.30 am as arranged by the very helpful Receptionist, Marianne,who spoke excellent English. However, when we tried to get ready there was no water to flush or wash with. This was our only, but important disappointment. Would we stay again? Definitely!

Very suitable for disabled
We went to Almirante on a 3 day break , myself my partner and my parents whom my Dad is blind,we found the hotel amenities perfect for him,and the added bonus of a disabled toilet in the bar area,the short walk to the beach was perfect for anyone with a disability or young children,the staff in the hotel we're by far the nicest bunch of people who you can tell just by watching that they love were they work,we would highly recommend this hotel for a nice quiet windown break ,great people great food and great atmosphere, gracias Almirante.

Do NOT bother with family
Horrible - DO NOT BOTHER with family room. On arrival we were told that none of the family rooms have ocean views, they overlook the pool. The pool was not only closed but was being dug up very noisily with jack-hammers. The balcony on our room was also locked and we were not allowed to use it for \"safety reasons\". The \"high speed wifi\" only worked one of the nights we were there, so no checking emails, uploading holiday photos, or watching movies while the kids were asleep. The room inexplicably smelled of sewage for one day. Very thin walls, we could not sleep on the nights when a group of teenagers were having a party next door. If you complain after 5pm, the WILL NOT help, or even come up to the floor to reset the wifi. They tell you to talk to the manager between 9am and 5pm when most people are out enjoying Spain instead of hanging around the no-pool no-wifi hotel. Completely unsatisfying experience all around.

This hotel is an incredible value for the price I paid. Our room had obviously been renovated recently. king size bed and soft sheets made our sleep comfortable. great bathroom fixtures.

Excellent for quiet getaway
Went with my partner for a few nights. Absolutely loved it. In a calm friendly area right across the beach, perfect for a quiet getaway. Tram facility a two minute walk from the hotel.. Easy access to Alicante city centre ( mercudos, Marq etc) overal it was all beautiful.. Lovely reception and bar/restaurant tenders within the hotel.

We enjoyed our stay, staff were very nice and with my food allergies very accommodating. Didn't sleep great for our short stay though as the mattress was very firm. Should have asked for a change or mattress topper but didn't think to do this at the time. Balcony door would not lock but on 5th floor so not too worried. Safe would not work? Carried passports everywhere with us !! Cups in the room not washed or changed daily and tea bags and sugar not restocked. Apart from that warm and friendly and modern. Would stay again if they had softer beds !!

A sloppy search on line lead me to expect a 4 star as that was what I entered but mistook travellers rating of 4.5 star we ended up with a bog standard 3 star how ever you look it was my fault and I considered we paid the price for or learning curve

We booked a half board special sea view room with wrap around balcony overlooking the beach and sea.
The room was large with a seating area and complimentary fruit and water.
The king size bed was extremely comfortable.
The restaurant was lovely and not at all like the usual quick hotel dining room , and had waiter service..
We had a very leisurely meal with very Spanish food which was delicious , and in elegant surroundings.
The cold cream of tomato soup with melon balls in it was especially delicious - even though it sounds odd !
