Danijela at the front desk was the BEST ! She was excited to greet me and, since my room was already prepared, I could check in early. Since it was my first time in Germany for Ocktoberfest, I was ready to hit the ground running. She pulled out a map, which I kept with me at all times, showing me which bus to take as well as which trains to take both to and from downtown. It worked flawlessly. Although one night I returned late by train (after midnight) and the bus was no longer running. So I had to walk only about a mile back to the hotel.

Poor value for money. No fridge, safe, coffee machine, complimentary water, chocolates, turndown service like other hotels we stayed at in 6 different cities for the same money or less. They charge for umbrella rentals and pop machine is expensive. Breakfast is less than average (canned fruit, orange drink not juice, machine that makes pancakes). Only good things about this hotel are free parking and Mustafa at the front desk. Disappointing for a Holiday Inn.

We do frequently stay at this hotel, but first time we experienced so low temperature in room. We have noticed 17°C on arrival and temperature was set on temp regulator to 26°C. Despite that temperature raised only to 18°C after whole night. This is not acceptable that temperature is not adjustable and heating is not working at all at the property. Our friends who accompany us at the trip experienced the same conditions.

I have travelled to Munich a few times and I stayed in different hotels. This one was the worst experience ever. Bathroom looked like it hasn’t been cleaned for a while,dust everywhere,big spiders in the bathroom,room’s windows handle broken. No fridge or any drink supplied by the hotel for the price we paid

It was Adele weekend. The hotel were short staffed, so the bar was closed and there was no one to make up a bed for us when we arrived. Nearest bar/restaurant was a twenty minute walk away. One coffee machine was broken so queues at breakfast were massive. Staff were uneducated on how to get to the Adele concert, which was probably the reason why the majority of people were there. Coffee, teas and milk weren’t replenished on a daily basis. Hotel isn’t very well situated to get into Munich. It’s a bus and train ride.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, it was a good experience for the price. The room was very nice and clean, which I appreciated. However, I did encounter a couple of issues during my stay.

First, the sink in my room wasn't draining properly from the start. I didn't report it initially, but by the last day, it had completely stopped draining. Additionally, given the hotel's remote location, there was a noticeable lack of information on how to access food options nearby, which made things a bit challenging.

Finding a good, clean source of water was also not as obvious as it should have been. The breakfast was okay if you’re content with making sandwiches, but it did feel a bit lacking without items like bacon or sausages, which would have been a nice addition to the eggs, pancakes, and toast provided.

Overall, it's not a bad hotel considering the price, but there are a few areas where they could improve to enhance the guest experience.

As an American these rooms are small and tight. Really small. They remind me of cabins on cruise ships. It was a squeeze to get 4 people (two adults, two teens) into one room. Aside from that, this is a great hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, modern, and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and had a good variety of options. The dining room was clean and spacious.
I appreciated the free parking. The underground lot was nice as it rained quite often while we were there.
Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely stay here again.

I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Express and had a mixed experience. The room, although good, was quite small. However, the breakfast provided was satisfying and enjoyable.

Unfortunately, I encountered a significant issue with the air conditioning. It was not working from the moment I checked in. I notified the staff about this problem the first night and was assured that they would look into it, taking note of my room number.

Upon checking out two days later, I mentioned the unresolved AC issue to the same front desk staff member I had spoken to earlier. She responded in an aggressive and rude tone, stating that the AC was not working throughout the entire hotel and there was nothing they could do about it. My intention was not to complain but to inform her that the issue persisted and affected our comfort.

What disappointed me the most was her lack of communication and courtesy. If it was a known issue affecting the entire hotel, it would have been helpful to be notified in advance. This would have saved me from trying to figure out what was wrong and prevented the poor night’s sleep we experienced during our stay.

Overall, while the room and breakfast were satisfactory, the handling of the AC issue and the attitude of the staff left a lot to be desired.

Exactly what it says on the tin!

Lovely staff both day and night. Clean room with all required. Comfortable beds and nice basic room design.
Hotel clean, again with good facilities and breakfast was made to go in cute bags as we had to leave early. Bus stop directly outside taking you to Ismaning station which you can then catch train to the airport. Also bus can take you to another link for the Allianz Arena. None of the attractions/tourist areas are walking distance so be prepared to use public transport or taxi if staying here.

Hotel is very far from City Centre. The cost for a taxi from Munich Main Railway station to hotel was 56 Euro. Hotel room window was damaged and water coming into room with the rain, complained and nothing was done about it. Breakfast was average, no hot buffet.

If you don't have a rental car, it is quite complicated to get a taxi and you have to plan it in advance. There are no opened restaurants at night in the area and you can not walk anywhere as this is in a very industrial section.

When we got to the hotel we tried to park and no one would pick up the speaker and once they did the garage would not open. We heard the employees in the background but the gate wouldn’t get open. Also ac wasn’t working, was told that there was nothing that could be done. Tried to open the windows but still so hot couldn’t sleep well. Had to catch a flight early in the morning.

While outside of city not more than half hour away from anything wanting to go to. So good location. Beds were not comfortable and neither was pillow. Bathroom had problems. The water stopped from doors kept being taken off. There was mold in shower tiles which was gross and cleaning staff were not great. I had ordered pizza from hotel and the next cleaning day they left the board and utensils on desk still. They did not clean up any cups we used at all! Bad form!
Front desk staff was usually very good and helpful.
Rooms are incredibly tiny.

Holiday Inn Express München-Messe - August 2019

Stayed 2 nights with family. Well appointed, with a swimming pool, pool table, table tennis table, trampoline even. Room comfortable, though the additional sofa bed for my son was a little uncomfortable for him. Breakfast had a good range, though was somewhat chaotic, with an adjoining meeting room opened to deal with the number of people trying to seat at the same time. The bar was opened late, with a limited range of food available. The location was more like an industrial estate, but the receptionist had a sheet with recommended restaurants. The one he pointed out as one of the better ones was very pricey, but we passed a more 'local' feeling hotel/restaurant (Landgasthof und Pension Hartmann) which offered some fantastic, meals for a very reasonable price (4 adult meals with drinks for under £80). It was good enough to go back on the second night of our stay. There is parking at the hotel, with additional underground parking available. A good base to visit Munich, Dachau, etc, with good access to the motorways.

Friendly check in staff, room was as you would expect for Holiday Inn Express. Nothing grand, but comfortable. Buffet breakfast was good. Only downside was elevators not working, we were on the 5th floor, so quite a trek up to room and back down with luggage.

Having a rental car, we were able to drive into Haar and park in the DB train station parking lot free of charge. The only issue that I had with this Holiday Inn was an intermittent WiFi signal that didn't work most of the time.

Check in and check out hours are very good. Their breakfast is excellent and has long hours. 6:30-10:30 weekdays and 6:30-11:30 weekends. The hotel is clean and the desk staff are very friendly. Rooms are clean but small. But I guess this is common.

Our one issue was with room service. After the first day coffee/tea wasn’t refilled. We figured okay maybe just one day. However the last day they refilled it. Not sure why it wasn’t the rest of the time. They also have if you hang the towels they aren’t removed. On the floor wash. They changed towels each time and half the time didn’t give us enough (party of four). They also have a sign that is “no room service today”. We hung it but the room was cleaned anyway. We had things out we didn’t want out for room service. The last day, not only did they perform room service, they took that sign away.

I think it may have stemmed from a miscommunication. The day we wanted room service, the staff member left their key card in our room. I gave it to another staff member the next day and said it was left behind. I think he thought I said we wanted room service even though the sign was up.

Communication aside even with room service I wish they followed the towel procedure, replenished the tea and gave us the proper toweled each day. It seemed the first day they were interrupted and never came back. After that service was iffy.

Overall was a good hotel in a quiet commercial area. It will be more comfortable having your own car. I agree with most of the previous reviews. Yes, the family rooms are small and pillows are hard. However, breakfast was included and it is good for vegetarians and non vegetarians. There is fresh multiple kind of breads every morning.Dinner menu doesn't have cheese pizza but can be obtained from the neighbouring Hotel Ibis.

This is a great, clean hotel with a decent breakfast included. The breakfast is mostly cold, and you won't find cooked items such as bacon, although they do have boiled eggs. The service is good, one receptionist went above and beyond to find my child's missing Teddy. The only issue the hotel could pose it if you're not driving, it is quite remote. If you are driving then the car parking is very secure and convenient, and free.

It Was a Hot Experience!

According to the hotel staff, the air conditioning was broken in the room. However, we noticed it was working in the restaurant and the lobby. So, the room was very hot and humid to the extent that it felt like a sauna! The staff lacked courtesy and did not try ameliorate the conditions. Their behavior was plainly rude. The bathroom, room and hallways were dirty. You could see grime and dust everywhere. The breakfast was not even fit for a pauper.

It’s a decent hotel with a basic breakfast. Good for a quick stop over as you’re travelling through, but that’s about it.

The hotel itself was easy to find, had a quick and friendly check-in with a clean and tidy room. We took our dog and nobody seemed phased by her walking through the reception with us. The pillows were uncomfortable and we weren’t given enough towels for two adults and a teenager, but the staff were friendly and helpful when we requested alternatives.
