Fantastic short stay for a family of 3.
Spacious family room that was bright, modern very clean. Good sized bathroom with everything that was needed.
Hotel staff were extremely helpful and polite.
The hotel was very quiet despite being by a main route into Munich. Public transport was easily accessible with a bus stop right outside and a short journey to the Ubahn station.

We arrived to what looked a closed hotel, maintenance of gardens is lacking
Check in was fine however one of the rooms I booked was wrong, I asked for a twin room but got a queen room instead, even though my room choice was confirmed prior to arrival
Rooms are ok, old fashioned shower over the bath, you can’t plug the kettle in as the table is to high and the plug won’t fit, so had to use the floor, however worst of all no dining options what so ever, 3 choices all closed on a Sunday, absolutely ridiculous
Expedia you need to make this clearer in your ad, as if I knew this I would not have booked here, we had to go out and try find diner elsewhere, have you tried parking in Munich on a Sunday, it’s crazy!!
Rooms have had wooden floors added, makes the rooms above very noisy, it felt like we had elephants moving about all through the night
Overall this was a bad choice and thankfully we are only staying one night, I would have checked out if I was staying longer.
I am sure there are so many better options around Munich
If you are staying Sunday I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Horrible experience. I had a booking where I knew I would arrive late and asked to hold the room, which they did and I didn’t ask for any refund for the 2 additional days that I was not going to be there. When I checked in, they said my room was not ready, they couldn’t find the reservation and when finally they found it the front desk told me my booking was actually moved one day so I would be able to check out one day late. Which I didn’t need but a good offer for a late check out, thought it’s nice. And I asked him 3 times if that’s the case and he said yes it is. So the day before when I left all my stuff knowing that I had the time and just in case checked with the front desk that I will be late to return is the system still showing I have one more day to check out, he said yes. I went for work, and midday got a call saying I am over staying and it was my fault for assuming that I have one more day based on the front desk personnel’s word. They lied and asked me for written proof. I explained what happened to the manager and she was like, well it is a mistake from the front desk but it’s your (my) fault that I trusted them. So now I should pay another $650 euro to 1 more day. I got angry and asked my wife to take everything and go to the lobby for checkout and not to pay a dime for any additional day. They were practically trying to scam by lying and making me stay longer and then trying to charge for extra days at insane rate. Also, the pictures shown is not real.

Time of stay the hotel unaware of total people staying (which was detailed as 2 adults and 1 child on the Expedia booking therefore the room had not been setup for this so had to request further bedding (which I will note was provided) but I was unclear how the booking being made had not been specific to this. Also to note the bedding (duvet covers) did not fit the bed ie single duvet size bedding for a double size bed? So again had to request further bedding again? Not sure why double bedding would not be on a double size bed?
Noise then was a significant concern on both the Friday and Saturday nights as there was clearly activity outside of the premises where there were celebrations of some sort which went into the early hours of the morning - even with a child who was wide awake as the noise was significant even with the window closed - whilst this activity isn’t the fault of the hotel it made the stay unpleasant. The team that worked on the duration of my stay were pleasant as I had interaction with a few of the team.

Great staff. As an American visiting Munich, I walked about 20minutes to the subway and was in the center of Munich rather quick.
Staff was great to me and there was always one person there that spoke English.

The shower only has half a shower door so water gets all over the floor. The AC unit DOES NOT work, at all! We set it as low as it would go and we were still sweating ours butts off all night. So much sweat that we were soaking the bedding. The unit sounded like it was on but no air was actually coming out and that was the case for both of the rooms we had. Other than that the hotel was nice and clean.

I booked the hotel, unexpectedly, for an additional night because my flight got canceled near midnight. During the booking process on the app, somewhere in fine print it must have said that check in ends at midnight (strange in itself, but not the point here). Since it would take at least an hour to get from Munich airport to the hotel, I tried to call the hotel directly AT LEAST 10 times to make sure I would be able to check in. They DID NOT pick up the phone even once. I called Hotels.com customer service and all they could say is along the lines of “we’ve left the hotel a message, nothing else we can do, so good luck”. When I got there, they checked me in without any questions at about 12:30am. Unnecessary stress created by an apparently incorrect condition (check in only until midnight) on the app.

That aside, my stay was fine. The service was lackluster.

Maybe still because of Covid, there was no laundry service.
Plenty quiet for rest. Took us a whole day to figure out the S/U/H transportation system to get to this hotel. Probably next time I would save the aggravation and spend the fortune to take a taxi from the airport. An airport shuttle would be great! My conference was at this hotel otherwise would not use for a vacation to Munich.

A little too far away from everything

Stayed here during Oktoberfest mainly due to almost everything closer to the city being full. It's pretty out of the way and a good 10-15 min walk through a pretty dark park to get to the train. We booked a queen bed for the room, but after getting to our room we found 2 single beds. Back down to reception to ask for the right room - we were told by reception that sometimes large group bookings get the bigger rooms. But we eventually were given the room we paid for in the first place. The air conditioning didn't work at all while we were there so we had to have the window open to give the room some air. Our keycard died every single day we were there, so each night we would have to go back to reception to get it sorted. WiFi was a bit slow and unreliable. The breakfast buffet was really tasty though!

Incredibly noisy hotel! You cannot get in sleep!

I were awaken around 10pm and am forced to be awaken till now - 11:30pm, because there is a "wedding dinner" in the hotel with very loud nightclub-like music on! The reception does not want to help to solve the issue at all! Also the reception refused our request to call a police! After a whole day tour in the city, it is very crucial to get enough sleep to continue tomorrow's trip. Unfortunately, we paid the service in 4 months advance, but cannot get it now! I'm really shocked on what the hotel is doing and will not allow this hotel's brand in my future travel list! Here is for sharing and for your own consideration: if you want a sleep when you need it or just lie on bed and is forced to listen to the club noise.

When checking in, I was told about the breakfast information in a way that let me thought I have purchased (only tell me the time of breakfast, not telling me that my room does not have breakfast included), which turns out I have not when I go to the breakfast place. The hotel in located in a place where basically nothing nearby, so one have to prepare for next day's breakfast or otherwise only have breakfast there, or do not eat in the morning at all.

As for the service, it was quite bad for a hotel with such a high satisfaction rate. The attitude of waiters and waitresses weren't good, and my suggestion for the hotel is that consider upgrade the management system so that internal communication can actually reach each other, and train the staff better so that necessary information and nicer attitude is provided.

The check in was quick and easy. When we arrived at our room we immediately noticed that the walls between rooms are very thin, we could hear the tv from next door clearly as well as parts of their conversation. There was also a lot of noise coming off the street which we could hear all night long.

In the early morning I flushed the toilet, 50 minutes later it had not stopped flushing. I had tried ringing down to reception a few times with no avail so got dressed and went down to report it and get it fixed. When I went down I was told that the phone in the room was broken and that they would sent maintenance up to fix the flush. When we checked out an hour and a half later (as we could not sleep) no one had been. They were at no point apologetic nor remorseful about the situation and couldn't seem to care less.

We stayed here on our honeymoon to Europe for one night. They upgraded us to a large suite which included huge basket of fruit as a welcome gift. The room was very clean, and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. Sadly, the two airconditioners in the room were unable to beat the 100 degree heat outside, and our room stayed cooled to only 80 Degree. (I'm pretty sure only one of them worked). We did not pay for breakfast (high rate per person) and left the next morning to find cheaper food on the streets of Munich. The location of this hotel is quite far from the city center, but they did offer free parking for us.

Monica & Stephanie (Front Desk) were great!! We enjoyed our stay at Mercure Orbis & will definitely stay there again if we return to Munich!! They were both extremely helpful with directions & information needed for public transportation, which we knew very little about before arriving at the hotel. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant & the food, as well as the service were excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel if you plan to visit Munich. The hotel is a bit out of town, but with public transportation, you can be in the City Center in 20 mins. without having to worry about parking.

Happy with the room, unhappy to get sick eating

The hotel is a fairly corporate and well maintained set up. Has all of the nice corporate comforts of a gym, on site parking and friendly staff. The restaurant on site seemed like a good choice for dinner, however the seafood chicken combo that I had made me very sick overnight as it wasn't cooked properly. This isn't a real reflection on the quality of the room, but as the hotel ran the hotel it is worth commenting on.

Some 11 miles away from the city center, you need to have a car, if you want to go into Munich.
The Hotel is located in a suburb, with very little restaurants close by. And it is more of a conference Hotel.
Having said this, the breakfast is very good and the food the Hotel offers is decent.
The Hotel is clean but with little atmosphere .
Given the price they charge still a good deal if you can live with the above points.

The hotel was nice, comfortable and clean. Luckily it was located right outside a bus stop which could drop you off in 10 minutes at the train station. The hotel thankfully has a restaurant/bar because there is NOTHING around this hotel except residential housing. No restaurants, convenience stores, etc. The breakfast buffet was 18 euro per person which is quite high! The staff wasn't rude but was lacking a certain amount of polish and eagerness to help.

This is a good quality hotel and it you need to be in the Neuperlach area it's a good location. The hotel is modern and the rooms are very clean - facilities are of a good standard. Our party found the service a little indifferent - nothing really wrong - but equally no wow factor. I don't think you would stay here if you are visiting Munich as a tourist, as it is not particularly close to the city or the airport. As a comfortable and efficient place to stay while on a business trip it was fine.

Understanding Oktoberfest was in Munich while we were in town, we chose this hotel as we did not want to spend 800 Euro on a hotel room. Having said that we paid well over 150 Euro for a Mercure (yes I should have known) but I did not expect an old, rundown hotel for the price we paid. Rooms were horrible, small, hot and smelled. Staff (if you could find them) were not even pleasant.

I should have stayed in Salzburg one more day. It would have been worth getting up earlier to drive to Munich.

This hotel was more like a 2.5 star than a 4 star hotel, breakfast was extra and was very expensive. I chose this hotel as it was supposed to be close to public services for transport, this was not the case and I ended up having to pay £25 each way in a taxi to the Analytica show. I would not stay here again!

Hotel is amazing but is not close to the Munich center, you need a car to stay there.

not a 4 star hotel, but is nice and clean. located near the hospital that makes it convinient.

The hotel we stayed in was great. Very freindly and helpful, clean and comfortable. We just didn't realize how far away from the city center it was. A cab ride there cost us $40.

Fantastic hotel!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights to go to Oktoberfest and to see some of Munich for my boyfriend's 30th birthday. The hotel staff were all extremely helpful and accommodating, they made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and spacious and we had 3 fantastic nights' sleep. The breakfast was lovely, and the breakfast staff were also extremely accommodating and the service was as good as it was throughout the rest of the hotel. We had room service one night for dinner which was lovely, and we ate in the Hubertuskeller restaurant the second night which was superb. Again, the staff made the experience that bit more enjoyable, but the food itself was outstanding.
We used public transport on the advice of the hotel staff - there is a bus stop outside the hotel about 150m along the road to the right, which is 4 stops away from a U-bahn station which takes between 4 and 7 stops to the centre of Munich, depending exactly where you are going. It was so easy to get to the centre and travel around, it was definitely worth staying a bit further out to avoid the noise and with a 15 minute commute the money we saved compared to a central hotel was well worth it, and I doubt they could have been much better than this hotel anyway!
All in all we would thoroughly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to return here in the future, 10 out of 10!

Hotel Mercure Munich

Fairly standard hotel - helpful staff, comfy and spacious room, but a long way from the city centre (though we knew that). 10 mins walk to the nearest metro stop, and a bus stop right outside.

the pool which we were very excited about after 2 weeks of travelling turned out to be a major disappointment - not sure if german swimming pools are meant to be unheated, or if the system was broken, but it was completely cold. dipped a toe in, and then went to get changed again. Rubbish.

Breakfast wasnt included at the hotels.com rate, and they wanted to charge us an extortionate €18 for the pleasure of a croissant and a coffee. We declined.

Generally though, was ok!
