Right next to S-Bahn (didn't have an issue with noise). No breakfast on-site but bakery / supermarket next door so quite OK. Clean, good size, reception friendly and helpful.

However the mattresses were terrible. Three separate foam ones on top of each other that moved very easy which meant you woke in the night hanging off the edge of the bed. i have never experience such before.

but i would probably still stay again as the rest is quite fine (maybe just put the mattress on the floor instead...)

The room itself was nice and clean. Small but comfortable, and had a TV with Netflix. Staff was also pleasant. The location is excellent; not too far from Munich Hbf (about 15-20 min) and conveniently right beside an S-Bahn station (Fasangarten). There is also a supermarket and bakery right next to the hotel which was great.

Overall a great experience!

Overall great hotel. It has excellent customer service and it’s right next to a train station that has frequent service to the city hotspots. Rooms are clean and Netflix is available in the TVs. The only downside I had was that the shower in the room was open (there was no curtain but it was a pocket so it was not easy to see but someone can walk in and see). I don’t know if this was in all rooms but I travelled alone so it wasn’t an issue for me but it was surprising to see.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We liked everything about it. We were greeted at the front desk after a long train ride by Anthony and a very cold beer. What a gem Anthony is! We arrived on a Sunday evening, looking for dinner options. So many places are closed, but Anthony offered to order in for us, and also told us about a Greek restaurant a short walk away from the hotel. A very safe neighborhood, S-Bahn 3 (across from the hotel) takes you everywhere. Very easy to get around Munich, and the Oktoberfest. There is a full size grocery store below the hotel which is wonderful and fully stocked. Bakery/deli/produce it has it all. Very helpful front desk staff that speak English. We totally recommend this hotel, and will be staying here again.

The Gambino Hotel Cincinnati is a very modern hotel with a very convenient location right next to a commuter train station. It appears to be built not long ago in the middle of a very nice neighborhood in Fasangarten, a suburb of Munich. My room was ample and very clean and the bed was comfortable too. The bathroom was split between the toilet room and the shower area--which was open and very splashy, by the way. There is a small supermarket right underneath the hotel, with a good coffee shop inside. The only problem was that the supermarket's hours were not the most convenient to speak of. To me, the most convenient feature by far was the proximity of the commuter rail line, which was literally a few steps away. The train is part of the subway system and takes you directly into downtown Munich (and other locations). The cost of the ticket is about 3 euros one-way (they charge you by zone like most metro systems in Europe). There are very, very limited dining choices in the area though. I did have to walk about half hour to find an excellent Italian restaurant, but that was about it! In addition, the surroundings of this hotel were under heavy construction, which made it very difficult for taxis to drop you off directly in front of the hotel. I did have to walk about a block hauling my heavy luggage to get there. Construction may be over by the time I write this lines though. Overall, I felt that the hotel was reasonably priced given the fact that it is in the Munich area.

This is a very stylish hotel away from the city centre. Very modern decor mixed with industrial look. Spacious rooms and no Wi-Fi issues. Several spots in front of desk had food stains on the wood floors so was disappointed with that. We had a room for family of 3 so spare roll-away bed was provided for my 12yr old but unfortunately the design of the horizontal slats broke and upon inspection, there was another one repaired so must be a common problem. Upon return, this roll-away was either repaired or replaced so non issue. I was impressed with the room design using unfinished concrete for walls, wrought iron for fixtures providing that rustic look. Very nice. Tea and coffee kettle provided. 3 minute walk to s-bahn station and a supermarket downstairs. If you want a competitively priced hotel stay away from center then this hotel may suit your needs like it did for us. I recommend.

I attended Transport Logistic at Messe Munich and selected this hotel as it wasn't priced the same as a one way ticket to the moon!

The location next to Fassanengarten station is ideal, I travelled quickly and easily to the fair each day for only €3.70 via S3 to Giesing (one stop) then U2 to Messestand West (eight stops).

Hotel was clean, tidy, well appointed and the room offered a fantastic shower, free WiFi, place to work and a free beer everyday you didn't need the attention of a chambermaid - I'm very easily bought!

Highly recommend for good value accommodation, but, be aware that there is no restaurant on site so eat before arrival, reception very helpful and assisted with a Take Away delivery to the room.

We stayed for 5 nights in this hotel and really enjoyed it . The hotel is located just outside the city,so it is quiet at night which is lovely. The S-bahn stops just across the road making it very easy to get into the city centre. The reception and housekeeping staff were also brilliant and made the experience very enjoyable!

Staff: Most of the staff but one receptionist were friendly and helpful and the hotel manager should not be in hospitality business. Customer relationships is not his forte.

Location: This hotel is way into the suburbs and there is just one grocery store next door. A lot of time and money needs to be invested to go back and forth to the city center.

Rooms: Many of the rooms are facing the subway station and you hear the trains constantly and lots of teenagers hang out by the hotel with loud music and partying.

This was my third visit to the Gambino Cincinnati, which is now one of my hotels of choice in Munich. The proximity to Fasangarten S-Bahn is super convenient, as it is the hotel being right next to the supermarket.

The staff are super friendly, and responded immediately when I told them that I was due to arrive two hours before the allocated check-in time. The chilled beer for saving on the room cleaning is also an unique bonus.

I will definitely be returning to the Gambino!

Nice and clean, conveniently located right next to the S-Bahn station Fasangarten and just a 15 minute journey straight into Marienplatz on the S3.

The hotel is located right next to a supermarket complex Hit, where you can also get breakfast or a snack at the Ihle.

The staff are really helpful, and looked after our luggage after we checked out and had the rest of the day in he city before a late-evening flight. There were also excellent facilities close to our room where there was an iron and ironing board.

What was a really nice touch was the free chilled beer if you didn't need to have your room made up. We are pretty efficient in using the facilities, so made the most of this!

We visit Munich regularly, and having stayed at many hotels agreed that the Gambino Cincinnati ticked all of the important boxes for us. We will return!

Really friendly and helpful staff on Reception. Arrived late but wanted to take the train into the centre of Munich for a quick look around. Reception staff suggested parking on the roads outside the hotel as these were free. This was really helpful advice but we wanted to leave our ski stuff inside the car so decided to use the parking garage underneath the hotel instead.
The train station is right next to the hotel. The location couldn’t be better!

The supermarket and bakery under the hotel are also excellent.

The room has everything you need - its very clean with a comfy bed and nice bedding. Tea and coffee in the room was much appreciated.

All in all, highly recommended. Definitely my first choice for my next visit to Munich

The property was clean and right next to public transport. However, the rooms are tiny, there is an electric kettle along with two tea bags and two instant coffees, no mini fridge, and no food available in the hotel (drinks can be purchased at a vending machine)- there is a cafe/supermarket next door (that shuts at 8pm), the closest restaurant is about a 15 min walk away.The bathroom is stocked with a combo shampoo/soap (that's it for toiletries) and a hairdryer. We won't be staying there again.

We went during Oktoberfest and everywhere in the city is very expensive. This place although out the city, was very reasonably priced in comparison. It is a 30 second walk from the train station(train noise isn’t an issue) and the train takes you directly into the city in about 15 mins. Bed was comfortable and shower was amazing (although it had no door so not great if it’s just friends sharing).

The people are friendly, the rooms are clean and modern, but that’s about it. This is a high end dorm room, or hostel at best. They don’t have laundry service, the shower is exposed to the rest of the room. The bathroom door could have easily been placed 6 feet out to enclose the shower area. The beds are standard for European twin size (smaller than American) but they are so uncomfortable. The location is good if you want to take the train into the city )9 stops)

Second time.... amazing stay

This is the second time I’ve stayed at the gambino hotel and I can honestly say it is a brilliant experience every time. It is very conveniently located especially if you want to do a lot of sightseeing. The train stops just outside the hotel and there is a supermarket next door that also has a bakery and hot food place. Would absolutely recommend this place as it is clean, staff are friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. Will definitely be back again for a third time!

This is my second time visiting Munich, and both trips I have stayed here. The location is a quick 20 minute drive from city center and a grocery store is connected to the hotel which has a lot to offer. Sanya is the definition of great customer service. Both stays I have been taken care of by her and she goes out of her way to ensure your stay is perfect. The only issue I had was the thermostat in the room. It takes awhile to change temperature’s, so the comfort could have been better while sleeping. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting. Photos attached are views from the lobby, very modern and cozy.

Great clean, quiet hotel south of the city, right off the S3 at Fassengarten (trains on this line run once every 20 min, so cheack our the timetables posted and plan accordingly).

Room was spartan but very clean and cute. Great hot water and pressure. Bed comfy. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

Only complaint is lack of shelf/basket in shower to put toiletries on, and only place for suitcase was to block the door/entry.

Room had coffee/tea maker. Market nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is clean and in very good condition. Do note that the hotel comes with basic amenities which I have no issues with and I enjoy the minimalistic and functional design of the hotel. Modern, spacious and conveniently located above a very well stocked supermarket.

Be aware that it is further away from central Munich but the train station is right beside the hotel (you can't hear the trains) and only takes about 15 mins to get to town center.

Hotel situated in a quiet residential area. Easy to get from the airport: take S8 and then change for S3 train. Easy access to the city centre. Hotel is new and have comfortable bed. If you are planning to do sightseeing and not spend too much time in a hotel then is a great choice. There is no bar or anything in a hotel so its only good for a sleep. Train station just beside the hotel and quiet at night. Big supermarket and bakery in a supermarket to get you coffee and breakfast. Its closed on Sunday.

This is a newer hotel and is very nice. It is right on S3 line but you won't hear the trains running when you are in your room. The staff is very friendly. There is a supermarket right next door with a little pastry shop as well. It is just a quick train ride into the center of town.

Clean and modern design. Staff at reception were very professional and helpful. However, I feel that it will be nice if housekeeping staff are a bit more generous with coffee, creamer & sugar sachets when they are topping up the room. There are 2 of us, but only 2 sachets were given each day. And if we want extra, we will have to go to the reception to get the extra ourselves, as there is no phone in the hotel room. I guess, we are used to hotels in other countries that have housekeeper staff to deliver coffee, towel, etc to the hotel room at any time of the day (of course within reasonable hours, ie before 10pm), rather than having the guests to pick them up at the reception themselves. Maybe that is having guests picking up extra stuff at the reception themselves is a the normal practice in Germany.

This is a very low touch hotel that focuses on the basics of bed and tv. Rather spartan decoration and industrial rooms. What it does it does well.
My single room was very small. There was no space around the bed even while one side of it was against the wall. The hand towel is wash cloth size.
The no shower door construction also causes a lot of spray into the room.
Those things aside the location right next to a train station made it super easy to access anything in the city. The facility is new and well maintained. The room is clean.

We stayed here during Oktoberfest 2018, and were extremely happy with our decision. The room was modern, had plenty of natural light, and had great internet access. The hotel is incredibly close to a train station, so getting into central Munich each day was a breeze. Given that we visited mid-Oktoberfest, the price of the room for 4 nights was very reasonable. Highly recommended!

The hotel is brand new and very modern. The bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. There was no breakfast included but that was no big deal as there is a supermarket and cafe in the same building where you can buy breakfast sandwiches and we were happy with that. Even though it is located in a rather boring residential/commercial district, the S-Bahn stop was steps away and it was very easy to get to the Altstadt and Wies'n from there. Just make sure to stay on the S-3 when it switches tracks and reverses at the Ostbahnhof. The tracks were outside our room but we never really heard the train. The room was very nice but tiny, even by European standards. Overall, it met our needs well and I would consider staying here again. Very pleased.

Business hotel with basic ementies

Very simple rooms
+ Hotel is in the s3 train station which is great to reach the city center within 15 minutes

- The parking IN the hotel building was not free as mentioned in the description
- the shutters of windows are controlled centrealized by the hotel, so you might find them open although you closed them

Awesome experience all together. We travelled with three adults and the hotel provided a room large enough to have privacy and all real beds as opposed to a roll-out bed for the third person. Very nice accommodations with modern appliances. Fantastic access to S-Bahn and only but a few stops to tourist stops such as Marienplatz.

Rude staff members

Hotel staff were rude and dismissive when I found out that I had made two reservations after calling Gambino prior to my stay and them telling me I did not have a reservation with them. So in turn I made another reservation at Gambino and staff claimed that I could not get a refund for my second reservation because it wasn’t their problem. They were not willing to try their best to solve the issue but instead dismissed me and told me to call the booking agencies I used. Would not recommend Gambino just because of their failure to be professional and customer oriented.
