This hotel is amazing and is superbly located. It is appropriately outside the city and at a nice distance to highway which means you can go out and in at a good pace and without traffic for most part of the day.
Rooms are clean, minimalistic and very spacious for a couple. Charges are okay. Restaurant has Scandinavian cuisine but closes at 10:00 pm. This is very common on Munich where most of the things close at 8:00 pm. The bar is open until 1:00 am and there is a small shop which is available 24X7

Wonderful staff who noted it was my birthday and left a small present in the room for me! Great breakfast and room. Only downsides are the location is minimum 30 mins from Munich’s attractions, and though the tram is just outside the hotel it is sometimes not reliable, and very limited teas and coffees left in the room with no clear way to get different options or more - but I doubt this will matter too much to most people! Overall I would definitely recommend this as an affordable hotel in Munich.

The room is spacious. We got one with a microwave which is very convenient since there are not a lot of restaurants near by.

As first start was very easy to find car park, very important when you travel with your car, just in the street in front of the main entrance of hotel. Park was free of charge. Secondly the wonderful and friendly welcome of the staff wa absolutely nice and when you travel with family you really like when people are friendly with you and your kids and your partner. So wonderful atmosphere. The hotel was simply amazing: wonderful relax area with billiard and calcio-balilla, great bar, superb spaces. Room was clean and space were well designed for a good level of comfort. Breakfast was rich and area of breakfast was spaceful and comfortable. Thumbs up for this structure! Price was reasonable and worth every penny.

Nice hotel about 1 mile outside of the city center. Tram 21 conveniently located about a 4 minute walk away which gets you into the city in about 15 minutes. This also means you can easily take the S-bahn thereafter to and from München airport. The hotel is clean and modern and quite comfortable. Staff was always quite friendly and helpful. It was our second stay in a two week period, and we’ll definitely stay again when we visit München again in the near future.

Great 2-night stay in Munich.

Good value hotel a short distance from the hotel. Several nice restaurants in the area, although the hotel food is good and not overly expensive. The tram into the city and the Ostbahnhof is 100m away. The staff are friendly and helpful and the room, bathroom and public areas were very clean.

The bakery/coffee shop 200m further out of town is great if you want a smaller breakfast.

Overall we had a great 2-night stay.

We absolutely loved this hotel. Everything about it was more than we could have asked for. Fantastic staff, great room, convenient location, wonderful conveniences offered, such as loaned umbrellas and free water filling station, and affordable. Buy the breakfast with Expedia. It is a lot cheaper!

Great hotel, convenient location

Very nice hotel, feels very modern and new. Location is amazing, about 15 mins from the city centre on the tram which is right outside the hotel. It has great amenities and restaurants around it too. We were upgraded for free which was a really nice surprise. Parking is relatively expensive at 30 euros a day but you are in Munich and there are free alternatives around it if you have the time and patience to find them. If we ever stay in Munich again we will not look anywhere else but to stay at Scandic again.

- The rooms themselves are nice, with a large bathroom, adjustable beds and blackout curtains.
- Staff were friendly.
- Close to tram line 21.
- Close to Aldi/Lidl

Cons:
- Location far from the centre. Though well-connected through tram line 21, it can still take >30min to get to some parts of the centre and nearly 1hr to the airport on the S-Bahn.
- Wasn't cleaned properly, I found hair on furniture and nail trimmings on the floor that got stuck on my socks... It wasn't incredibly dirty, but small things like this really make you doubt about what else has not been cleaned and combined with the the issue below made me much less likely to stay again.
- They clearly cut corners in service/cleanliness during your stay. Under the guise of being eco-friendly, they won't clean your room unless you specifically request it. You can do so by scanning a QR code in your room, but when I did nothing was cleaned. The rug was still dirty and the trash hadn't been emptied. They have an option for a \"deep clean\" but they don't explain what it means, and sweeping the floor/emptying the trash cans don't count as deep cleaning by any stretch of the imagination. Sorry to be blunt but this was disappointing.
- Mini-bar was incredibly tiny, could barely fit anything in there.

Other:
- Breakfast was OK.
- Basic gym room was a plus. Children were running amok and unsupervised in there one evening. Would suggest to parents to control their children for their own safety.

Very comfortable, would stay again

Was very happy with the area -- quiet, clean, close to Ostbahnhof, great German restaurants in walking distance -- perfect for someone who has seen the altstadt before and not so interested in the main tourist spots.

Room was very clean, smelt fresh, a bit small, quiet, dark, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Stayed for 3 nights and slept deeply each night. Professional staff -- but the night staff was a bit rude. Building seemed new and room seemed newly renovated.

Biggest issues was the sleak new shower had trouble draining! So it was too easy to get water all over the bathroom floor.

Also felt like a 4 star hotel -- but was missing some of the basics of the 4 star hotel -- no closet in the room, no tissues, no telephone, no mini bar selection.

The problems are minor and easy to overlook, so would consider staying again when in Munich next.

We did not like very limited variety of food for breakfast.
The other problem was that cooked food was never warm enough. What happened? We stayed only few months ago at Scandic hotel in Frankfurt and breakfast buffet was fantastic.

The property is environmentally friendly. They don’t provide individual shower gels which I understand. However, there was no shower gel left in our shower gel container. Perhaps the housekeeping should check it more frequently. This is only a constructive criticism otherwise our stay was very pleasant.

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. We were in the city for the festival and it is very easy to get a cab there or use public transport to get to the city center. Beds are amazingly soft and big and the room itself is big and modern. Staff is very friendly and helpful, especially would like to thank Esli for his fast help, because we asked for the early check in and it didn’t take him even 30 mins to arrange that. I would definitely recommend to stay there!

Wir waren zu zweit für zwei Nächte im Hotel Scandic Macherei und haben es sehr genossen.
Das Personal am Empfang war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Zimmer war gemütlich, vor allem das Bett sehr bequem. Eine zweite Sitzgelegenheit im Zimmer wäre gut gewesen.
In Zimmer und Bad hat es uns an nichts gefehlt, es gab sogar einen Mini-Kühlschrank und Wasserkocher.
Das Frühstück war sehr gut, gute Auswahl, regelmäßig aufgefüllt und aufgeräumt.
Auch die Lage ist super, die Tram-Haltestelle ist quasi vor der Tür, Supermarkt und Drogerie ebenfalls, und beim Ostbahnhof ist man zu Fuß in 20 Minuten.
Wir kommen gerne wieder.
