The room was okay overall and the staff was excellent. The parking lot was easy and the location is close to many stores. The kids liked staying here. However, some pillows case had an odor, like they were not freshly washed, and Also, breakfast was not available.

I brought my service dog where the property allows it on the website. They immediately tried to kick me out of the hotel after they saw my dog. Then they moved my room to a cheaper one. There was left over food in the room and the front window was cracked. They did not give me a lower price since they downgraded my room, AND my girlfriend got a stye on her eye after sleeping in one of the dirty beds. Horrible experience and I am so upset I spent that much on terrible service.

The room was clean and smelled clean..The bed was comfortable and completely bug free..The office staff were super nice and accommodating..But, there wasn't and alarm clock in the room, the tv remote only worked part of the time and no coffee maker in the room..But all in all, I felt safe there and would stay there again if I were ever staying in Blacksburg again 👍👍

You can't beat the location + price combination! Walkable (about a mile or so) to Lane Stadium, so you could avoid parking fees and traffic for games, graduations, and other events.

The best aspect are the people. I get the impression this is a family-owned motel, and they were incredibly nice. I came in late evening Saturday for the Hokie Half Marathon on Sunday. The gentleman at the front desk greeted me, we had a fund conversation as I checked in, and he offered to help me with parking in the back.
Moreover, when I explained I was there for the race, they offered a late checkout. I was able to come back, rest for a bit, and shower without being bothered by the cleaning team.
The cleanliness, comfort, price, and small niceties make this my new go-to when I'm in Blacksburg.

I was a bit nervous going to a 2 star motel BUT in spite of it being old the outside was clean as well as inside AND the owner and his wife were so nice. In fact when we were carrying a plastic bin of clothes to the upper floor the owners wife quickly grabbed the tub from my husband and brought it to our room. Never had that happen at other hotels. I would definitely stay here again. A very pleasant surprise

This is a place located on a quiet road outside of the Virginia Tech campus and downtown Blacksburg. It is older and very basic in every way; there is no coffee maker in the room. Last check-in is at 11:00, and they were waiting up for us at 10:00. They helped us park and offered to help us carry in our luggage, a level of helpfulness I have not seen at any similar property.

We were going to be in Blacksburg for just one night on a busy VT weekend. Rather than spend $300 for one night in an average hotel, we read reviews in the VT Parents Facebook group, rolled the dice and stayed here. Great decision! While the Inn is dated, our room was exceptionally clean, the king size bed was brand new, and the owner treats you like family. Truly a nice guy. And we saved $200 in the process, so an all-around win. We will be back!

He also helped carry my luggage to and from my car. Exceptional service. The facility itself was older, but you can see that they have made significant updates in the rooms as well as the property. Everything was spotless, and in good working order. Nothing fancy, but just right for what I needed. Will definitely be staying there again. I recently had to go down to Blacksburg on a spur of the moment trip to help out my college student son when he was ill and made a last-minute reservation at the Red Carpet Inn. I didn’t have high expectations but chose it for its location and availability. I was so pleasantly surprised to find that the owners were incredibly welcoming to both me and my son, bringing us extra waters and even an electric tea kettle when they found out my son wasn’t feeling well. They checked on us frequently during our trip to see how we were doing and offer assistance. They also offered to clean the room daily, something I found that happens less and less frequently at hotels these days. we will definitely stay there again on our next trip down to Blacksburg!

This was the first time that I got checked in while I was in the parking lot AND Greeted with a chilled bottle of water. The place is not 5 star but the service is 10/5 (above exceptional).
Then I left my headphones in the room and before I could even call they had it at the front desk and just needed my address to ship it.
