I’m surprised that Holiday Inn lets this hotel operate under the IHG banner. This hotel is not up to General Holiday Inn standards. The rooms have that foul, musty smell. The sink did not drain properly. The shower water was mildly warm at best. I realize it is an older hotel but there is zero effort to keep it modern. Such a shame.

I booked through a 3rd party (hotels.com) and prepaid for 4 breakfasts. The hotel claims to have no record of this. Now I have to see how to handle that misstep. Terrible experience from a traveler who generally trusts the Holiday Inn brand name.

Although the hotel was under renovation of the pool area, updated rooms (?), the bathroom was another story. A very strong odor and older fixtures made this place not so great. The staff was really nice and helpful! There are to many other choices out there.

This hotel is hidden gem! Although we’ve never been to the bar or had the breakfast, everything looks amazing. Sooo tempting! When we stay there, we are visiting our daughter who attends Virginia Tech so we’re spending a lot of time on campus and with her. We can’t wait to come back!! hoping to bring more

This was the most disappointing reservation I ever made in my life. For what I paid, it was not worth it. The hotel's condition if not what you see in the pictures. To start, all the furniture, including the chairs, were dirty with stains. First, we were in a room in which the toilet was broken and clogged. I have to plunge for 20 minutes,
The manager tried to fix the situation by switching us to a suite, which in reality was a downgrade. What was supposed to be their best room was in a very poor condition: spider webs all over, broken shower doors without handles and coming out of the rail, poor lighting in both rooms, the type of lights were no good to read or get ready. I had to clean the coffee maker because, for some reason, the water chamber was dirty. Breakfast is not included, which is OK, but what they served was not great. The restaurant was not clean. They gave us rolled silverware and when we opened it was all stained and sticky. At the time of the checkout, the manager apologized for all the inconveniences and explained the hotel would soon go into a huge renovation. If that is the case, why are they still offering rooms? I didn’t take enough pictures to show all the issues.

The room was in good condition, but the toilet kept running and needed maintenance. The cafe area for breakfast wasn’t in excellent condition and the breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired. Finally, we specifically booked this hotel for pool access but it was not open.

Mira Patel was very helpful at the registration desk. When we called prior to checking in about our dog. The person from Holiday Inn said it was $75 total. When it was really $75 per day. That was VERY HIGH.

Pool was out of order; elevator was out of order and exercise room was terrible with only 2 dumbells.

For visiting the VA Tech area.

After a long drive and then a family funeral, this hotel actually became a refuge from the stress. The staff was outstanding and the rooms very clean and comfortable. For being so close to a major roadway, the rooms were surprisingly quiet! Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The front desk staff at check in and check out was very personable and efficient. Room was very clean and up dated. Bedding was comfortable with lots of pillow options (firm, soft, etc). Bathrooms were very clean but some fixtures were a little worn. This hotel is close to shopping and many restaurants. I would stay here again if visiting the Christianburg / Blacksburg area.

We stayed here is 2018 and it was great. 2024 is not the same. The room was clean some noticeable structure damage probably from a leak above. The breakfast was soso. The big fail was the pool. When you get close to it you can smell it, and it didn’t smell of chlorine. The whole hallway smelled musty and moldy. Opening the door to the pool confirmed the source of the smell. The pool itself had not been cleaned either with visible dirt in the bottom. Fortunately the smell did not get into our room. We will not stay here in 2025 when we return.

If you are in town for a day, its not expensive, clean and has a continental breakfast for free, there is traffic noise , walmart is right behind it and the mall is across the street and a great movie theater there is a bridge over the road as well as walking paths if you want to take a run.

Comfortable, clean, suite style room with two beds and a convertible sleeper couch. Pleasant staff. The room was reasonably priced for it's location near VA Tech and a good size for visiting with our college student.
Breakfast was standard hotel food but a custom breakfast was also available to order for a reasonable price.

The hotel was going through a renovation but it was good. The updates to the hotel is great. It is right next to a Walmart so getting anything was a breeze. Room needed bathroom overhaul. Sliding glass door come off hinges. Temperature control of shower when turning to hot will slip to max hot just by the weight of the handle. Bathroom ceiling peeling and discolored. Air conditioning did not turn on.
